Dosing information: Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

I drink Apple Cider Vinegar with baking soda about 2 hours before going to bed. This helped improve my condition due to taking high-risk meds for almost 10 years.

I am very interested in the ACV use. I was diagnosed with MCD (minimal change disease) 2 years ago, and I am currently on the high steroids due to a relapse. Did your daughter have problems with body pains after coming off the steroids? Thank you and believe me I am very happy to hear she is doing so well. Tina

Nephrotic Syndrome Remedies

I have been doing some research for natural cures for Nephrotic Syndrome for kids. I saw in the website of Dr. Andrew Saul about the use of vitamin C in kidney problems. It says and I quote:

"Nephrotic Syndrome. This condition results from tissue damage and impaired nephron function. Its association with collagen diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc. ) is hardly accidental, for chronic deficiencies of vitamin C (and vitamin C's helpers, the bioflavinoids) cause the very event described by Williams on page 851: "The primary degenerative lesion is in the capillary basement membrane of the glomerulus which permits the escape of large amounts of protein into the filtrate." This is because capillaries, those tiniest and most numerous of all the blood vessels, get leaky in the absence of ample vitamin C."

I want to know if anyone has had any good outcome from this. A lot of cases I've read mentioned that they usually have attacks or relapses after a cold or flu, which meant they did not have enough Vitamin C.

Could it be that vitamin C can help? Has anyone known of any real life case?
Thanks for your help.

Dear Taurusmum: concerning your question about your son's kidney problem... Nephrotic syndrome; you make the argument for supplementation of Vitamin C splendidly yourself!

Remember it was Dr Linus Pauling who wrote and researched the effects of Vitamin C. And the quote from the book on the subject is quite convincing.

So what do you have to lose? Vitamin C can't hurt him. Just a few observations: if you take a lot of ascorbic acid (C) at once that is not time released the result will be a case of diarrhea. So give him a time released. And also if you give him large doses, remember ascorbic acid is acidic. Some prefer buffered C. You could experiment with what works best for him. If this were me, I'd try a time released in the AM and PM AFTER meals.

@Dreamer: Comfrey is one of the greatest healing herbs on the planet, but some seeming evil stepped in and cursed it with the toxic alkaloid pyrrolizidine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrrolizidine_alkaloid. The Comfrey root is said to contain more pyro than the leaf and every plant varies in toxicity so would need proceed with much caution. Nature's Herbs? once marketed a non-toxic comfrey but they discontinued it; maybe someone still does, worth researching. I have read that boosting Glutathione levels and taking Milk Thistle helps prevent the toxicity.

There are many different supplements as well as a short fast and cardio exercise that boost HGH; I have posted info here on E.C.

Avoid Bentonite Clay
Posted by Nursecaitlin (Boston, Massachusetts Usa) on 10/23/2012

WARNING!

I've worked with dialysis patients for years and bentonite clay has come up many times. It destroys your kidneys over a few years. The clay sticks to the inside of your nephrons. As the kidney disease advances (slowly) the nephrologist will ask you to allow them to perform a kidney biopsy, it is at this time that it is discovered that clay, acual clay, is stuck inside the millions of tiny nephrons in each kidney. Although you may see positive results, kidney disease, and evenually dialysis, is the end result.

Ken,
I have never had a problem with my kidneys, so I am hopefully thinking this is due to my using the Castor Oil packs! However, I use to treat a woman in Houston and she was going to dialysis, I did a few different treatments on her, and one of them was Castor Oil packs. Her numbers were dramatically decreased. I had her change her diet, use the Castor oil packs and I did Body Alignment Technique. Her numbers decreased by the third time.

How much DW should one drink per day?

Regarding borax, how much per day and when to take it? just sprinkle it on food or dissolve it in some DW?

Could you please elaborate?

And how much total salt do you put in water on average?

Do you salt your food as well besides the distilled water?

Stage III Kidney Failure
Posted by Gail (Kingston, Ny) on 04/16/2017 10 posts

Thank you very much for your answers. I am sorry to hear about Ted. I am a nurse and unsure of the reason for the sudden kidney problems. I did have very high pressure before an aortic valve replacement; but it has been OK since then, I take one BP pill, and an herbal collection of remedy and it has been stable; my blood sugar results have been prediabetic, with a sudden spike. So, I am not sure of which direction to begin a natural healing; the obvious will be complete rejection of dialysis. MY other question is about mineral water. I knew I had acidity years ago, many UTI's and a kidney stone; led me, not ten doctors, to realize the stone was acid based. I did herbal and mineral water alkalinization; since I learned that mineral are very alkaline. But now I read that mineral may be hard to process in kidneys under stress. I am taking a supposedly herbal formula for kidney health, but it is not at all helping. I will try the Sodium barcobonate, should I stop the mineral water? Thanks again. Gail

Stage III Kidney Failure
Posted by Gail (Kingston, Ny) on 05/19/2017 10 posts

Thank you very much for referral to Ted's remedies. To be honest, there are some complications which may make this more difficult

One is the fact that I have Barrets Syndrome; I tried to control it with cold pressed aloe vera gel, but it gave me severe diarrhea which increased my irritable bowel syndrome I believe caused by internal hemmorhoids since childbirth. So, I had to take Nexium, yes, I know bad, but when I stop the Nexium I can feel burning in my esophagus.

I BP has been controlled after 2 aortic valve replacements with one pharma pill and an herbal remedy for 2 years. And I have just found out I also have osteoporosis.

Does anyone know if mineral water which is alkaline is OK for the kidneys. I drink it for alkalinity but have heard the minerals may be hard on the kidneys.

I did take sodium bicarb for a while but found it burning my esophagus and stomach, same with apple cider vinegar.

As well, I am prediabetic and have always had high genetic cholesterol; but, I am boiling a soup of Leeks, parsnips, turnips, 2 potatoes, carrots and celery and my HDL is now fabulous my MD says. Thank you Janet for your reply. My my, it's soooo complicated. Gail

Dear Kelly,

For someone with multiple health problems, no one may be comfortable to say for sure if coconut oil is "safe." It is a food that has helped many people with many things, so unless certain fats are restricted by your friend's doctor, it does seem a reasonable thing to try. But do get a high quality (cold-pressed) coconut oil that smells like coconut. Start with a small amount and increase as desired. A small amount being a teaspoon once or twice a day. The maximum daily recommendation for coconut oil is 3 Tablespoons a day, I believe.

You might also find this link interesting about using charcoal therapy for renal disease: Charcoal Therapy

I hope you will find some good solutions for your friend!

Nephritis Summary Revised...

Excess protein may be linked to taking too much protein and lack of digestive enzyme that digests the protein, such as protease, and may be supplemented with pancreatic enzymes, bromelain enzymes and to some extent papain. The total protease should be 50 to 100 mg taken before meals 3 times a day, bromelain 2500 GDU, and papain roughly 250 to 500 mg also three times a day. There was a case where a doctor gave patients 10 white eggs a day plus steroids as a way to reduce urine protein but that actually made it worse. Milk powder also worsened. An excess urine protein can also be lack of amino balance such as arginine or glutamine, for example.

A simple test is possible. A protein free diet or caloric restriction for 3 days to see if there is improvement.

I've had Diabetes since 1999. I was controlling it with meds in 2012. I had 2 strokes. I went into Rehab for 6 months. Christmas 2013, I had an unexpected Heart Attack, Coded, had Open Heart Surgery, 3-way Bypass. I had 2 more strokes and severe reaction to all the meds, especially from Anesthesia. I had severe Dementia for months. I have not been well since that time. I am in End Stage Renal Failure, functioning at 10%. My Doctor is forcing me into Dialysis. I had Dialysis after my surgery because they used contrast, which I am allergic to. My kidneys failed then. But 2/3 the way into 2014, my kidneys came back at 30% and I stopped Dialysis. I was in Rehab for a year this time. I got Pancreatitis May 2015 and found out my kidneys were failing.

I am looking to get off most or all my meds, avoiding Dialysis and finally getting well, after being ill since 2012. I would like any help you can give me. I see my Doctor soon and I hope what I am doing will change my lab results enough that my Doctor will waive Dialysis. Thank you.

Blackstrap Molasses fights cancer and will increase urination. I'm sorry I cannot recommend a therapeutic amount. Maybe start with one TBSP in warm water or 2% milk before going to bed. Someone else posted taking 3 tsp throughout the day but at this stage I would think starting at a larger dose first would help. I take either/or, depending on my urine flow. I read that therapeutic amounts of B-Complex also fights cancer but you have to be careful of the binders and fillers.

Comfrey

Hi Brian,

May I ask how much lemon juice did you drink and how often during that 48 hour fast?

Also, was the lemon juice straight undiluted freshly juiced or did you dilute it with water?

Did you drink the lemon juice away from the fresh comfrey leaves or sipped it while eating the comfrey leaves?

Regarding the comfrey leaves, you said you ate about 7 leaves during those 48 hours of fasting, so about 3- 4 leaves per day. Did you eat those 3- 4 leaves all at once in one sitting or one leaf every 3- 4 hours.

Do you think dry powdered comfrey leaves would work as well, most people don't have access to fresh comfrey leaves unfortunately.. :(

Sorry for all these question and thank you in advance
