This is the first time I've had jock itch. I'm 52 myself and tried the over the counter stuff. IT DIDN'T WORK! All it seem to do spread it more really made worse! Started reading on this site someone mention olive oil and garlic and someone also mention baking soda made a paste with that applied it did burn a bit but took the pain for 30 min. Like they said to do after the first it seemed to almost disappear over night did this for 3 days just in case also did the rubbing alcohol treatment two to three times a day by the third day it was 90 percent gone and was still fading away. Thanks for the insight. Men women do this it worked for me. by the way I also ate one glove of garlic a day like some mention kills it from the inside out.

Garlic Did It!

After a battle that goes back six years, if remember correctly, I found a way on this site to cure this infection. Store brand creams never worked for me, they would just get rid of the symptoms but never fully cure me. I wasted years of time spent and hundreds of dollars on clomitrozonale, tinactin, lotramin, gold bond, based on popular site searches until I found this website about a year or so ago; and the real healing began. I tried rubbing alcohol which was the same as those topical creams except more painful. Vinegar which I thought would work but my symptoms always returned. Lemon juice which actually made the area more itchy. Oregano Oil which was incredibly painful and ended scorching my skin. ( Eventually the area shed like a snake) Talc powder, soothing but not curing and finally I found a post that really resonated with me. A user said that we all actually like this infection, how relieving it feels to scratch it, how you just become comfortable with it being a part of you, you never truly understand it...It takes an outside as well as inside approach to this infection to kill TC.

If you have had it for a long time like me it is not only on your outer skin but it is inside you feeding on your blood stream as well. After learning this I followed suit. I changed my diet, no more soda, beer, and barely any carbs. Just meat (fish, chicken) and veggies. I ordered some quadriderm which is a popular centrifugal outside the U.S that has tolnaftate like "tough actin Tinactin" and the fungicidal gentamicin but it did not burn like Tinactin, in fact it was like rubbing lotion on the area. Finally, I minced up a clove of garlic and downed it (it did burn in my stomach for a couple moments but it is tolerable) and this began my most successful healing process to date. I would eat a clove every two or three days and apply the quadriderm everyday once in the morning. When I had TC I used to spray super hot water on the area and that was the most relieving feeling, the water could be so hot, much hotter than I could withstand anywhere else on my body but it was one of the most gratifying feelings I have ever experienced, almost as gratifying as knowing that I have possibly defeated the infection. I can no longer spray the area with scalding hot water now and have gone weeks without experiencing a significant itch. I just may have conquered my Jock Itch thanks to the inside outside approach. Quadriderm on the outside and Garlic for my insides.

For the last two years I have been bothered with itching armpits and jock itch. I have routinely shaved both areas and kept clean and dry. I tried everything. Clotrimazole 1% knocked it down but never completely out. One evening I had a terrific urge for garlic bread. I made it with olive oil and lots and lots and lots of garlic powder. I ate the whole loaf with scrambled eggs and garlic. The next morning I noticed I didn't itch as badly. For the next few days I ate garlic on everything. Powdered, fresh and frozen cloves. After about 3-4 days my rashes and itching were completely gone. I haven't had a hint of an itch or rash in 8 months. And I eat a lot of garlic. All I can say is it worked for me and I highly recommend trying it. (Freezing Hint - A store went out of business and I bought a large bag of fresh garlic. Tried hanging it but it started molding. I broke the bulbs into cloves filling 4 one-gal. Sealed bags and put in the freezer. That was more than a year ago and they still taste delicious. I take out as many cloves as needed, cut both ends off and the peel falls away. When thawed they are a little mushing and flavor concentrated, but in a stir fry, salad dressing or smoothy who cares)

Friends... Being a female.. I can tell u... Jock itch becomes more problematic.. As the monthly periods add more to the already worse condition of jock itch... It developed as a ringworm in my groin area... Later developed into big rashes.. Itching like hell... Suffered atleast for 4 full days.. Applied antifungal creams... No use.. Was hopeful that it will go by 6th day at least... But no.. It did'nt go... Out of frustration took 4 cloves of GARLIC. (had read in some website.. Garlic to be antifungal). Made a paste... Did not mix anything in the paste... Applied directly on the area of rashes.. It burned like hell... But I was ready to go thru any sort of pain to get rid of it... You won't believe... The itching is gone just in one application.. And hope that another one or two application will set me free... GARLIC REALLY WORKS...
