After reading a post here in EC about Vitex helping with PCOS I decided to give it a try. and I am so glad I did after 4 months of heavy bleeding my GYN wanted to do another D&C. Chasteberry (Vitex) completely stop the bleeding in just 3 days.

Ladys if you have any reproductives issues, (heavy menstrual bleeding, Hormone imbalance etc PCOS ) Please try Chasteberry, is a God sent remedy for heavy bleeding and hormone imbalance. I started taking it 04/25/14 and by 04/28/14 there was not bleeding whatsoever. I am taking Chasteberry (vitex) 3 pills a day with my meals for 12 weeks and after that I will only have to take 1 pill a day. I am following the bottle instructions.

I hope this can help someone with the same problem. I continue taking my ACV, BSM and also added SAGE tea to my daily protocol.

Best of luck

The bleeding has completely stopped. Now I can look forward to going away with my boyfriend this weekend and not having to worry about the inconvenience of such a heavy period. Though the bleeding has stopped, I will continue to take the TBS of ACV daily. I will stop the BSM today. I don't want the high glucose content to build up. However, I am going to work on my immunity with probiotics and fermented foods. I will post again next month to report on my next cycle. Best wishes to every one!

In my original post, I meant to say throwing my hormones out of balance not thawing them. What a funny typo.

I had been bleeding moderately since Christmas (approximately 15 days) with a foul smell, which I never have during my period. I went to my gynecologist last Wednesday for an exam. Results pending (vaginal swab to test for infection). In the meantime, I found this site. I immediately drove to the supermarket for blackstrap molasses. I already had ACV on hand. When I got home, I immediately took 3 TBS ACV in a cup of water. 20 minutes later I took 3 TBS of the molasses in a cup of warm coconut milk ( added cinnamon, cayenne and turmeric to taste) then went to bed. The next morning, my flow was reduced considerably. Prior to this, the toilet water would be completely red like jello. I could now see just a small amount of blood wafting through the water. I have repeated the AVC/water and BSM/coconut milk drink every 8 hours. I am gratefully reporting that my flooding has been reduced to some light red spotting on tissue paper after urination. So, basically, after about 36 hours the bleeding has slowed SIGNIFICANTLY! I cannot express how thankful I am to have found this site. I have been devouring its content. I now realize the importance of keeping caffeine and sugar out of my diet as much as possible, keeping my liver toned and being aware of how I may be thawing my hormones out of balance. So, much of what ails us is directly related to what we consume and what we DON'T. I will be including ACV, BSM and coconut oil to my daily supplements. Good luck to every one searching for remedies. May you find your solutions! Have a wonderful new year, new you!

Dear Ronibe,

So sorry about the non-stop bleeding.

Try cayenne pepper first to slow (and hopefully stop) the bleeding. 1/2 teaspoon in 5 ounces of grape juice (or other, but I like the grape.) Instead you can take 2 cayenne capsules, but it is actually easier on the system to take it in a drink or on food. You can do this several times a day. Also, one Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses twice a day is good to help stop the bleeding and also to replenish your iron if you are having a lot of bleeding. Taking the Blackstap daily may help to regulate your cycles.

Do you know why you weren't having periods or why it suddenly got started? How long have you been bleeding? It is very heavy?

I have been drinking ACV and Black Strap Molasses for a month now, twice a day and it is an acquired taste but it has worked wonders for me so. Every month my period has been so heavy leaving me exhaused and depressed but this month has been so amazing. My period would normally be a 1week but it has been 4days and the heavy bleeding has been cut in half. I didnt know what to except but I decided to try these two products by faith and I have to say thank you Jesus and every one that have shared their testimony about using them. Even adding 1/2 a tsp of cayenne pepper to my grape juice made a difference for me. The taste is not great but I believe that it helped enormously. I thank God for finding this website and all the information it has to share.

Grateful, Nadia

Dear Nadia,

Try 2-3 teaspoons of Raw Unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar in 8 ounces of water once or twice a day. Some people take it six days a week, others daily. I have taken it almost daily for years with no problem. I got to where I liked my water better with a little vinegar. I haven't been using it so much lately as I have been drinking more herbal tea. I haven't had any ill effect from stopping. (In other words, I wasn't "addicted" to it.)

You can take 1 or 2 Tablespoons of Blackstrap Molasses a day. I would start with one. If you don't get the desired results, you can take 2. Some put it in coffee or tea. My children take it right off the spoon and like it pretty well. This can also be done indefinitely. If I take it all through a pregnancy, I don't get anemic. If you are taking 1 Tablespoon a day and are still having heavy bleeding, go ahead and take the second Tablespoon on heavy days. 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in some grape juice is also really helpful to reduce blood flow. (An "at the moment" kind of remedy.)

Some people notice results quickly. For others, it can take many weeks or even a month or two to get the desired results.

I hope this helps you a lot. Please let us know what works for you!

Could be dairy. For me dairy causes excess mucous in my throat, feces, and vaginal discharge.

I started taking the ACV and black strap molasses about a month ago, the first time I had my period there was no change, it was horrible and 3 break throughs and used about 5 packages of the ALWAYS over night pads in the purple, a total of 96 pads, this month I started my period and bought 4 packages, the first day was very light, the second day was very light and I really did have to change but 2 times during an 8 hr work day, but the 3rd day, I sneezed and has a big gush, but above all it has really not been that bad this time. I still have 1 package that I have not open and over half of a another package, so in 5 days I really only used about a 40 pads. I have a dr appointment with my gyn, so maybe next month will be even better, but I think the AVC and molasses works!!!

In response to:

08/24/2008: Michelle from Round Rock, Tx: "I had not had my period in a matter of months. I thought it was because I had gained some weight and I tend to miss or skip when I lose weight or gain. Well About 3 weeks ago I got what I thought was my normal period... this time it isn't. I haven't stopped bleeding, not even slowed down. I've gotten large clots as well. I'm kind of scared about it because I'm feeling weak and tired as well as sick and tired of it. I cant do anything."

Cinnamon works. After reading about the cinnamon tea here, I decided to give it a try for my extremely heavy and prolonged bleeding. After having an entire day of heavy flooding, I tried 1/2 tsp of cinnamon in my coffee and kept stirring it as I drank it down. Within the hour, the flooding completely stopped and my period became very light. I also felt a boost of energy.

Later that evening when things picked up again and got heavy, I took 2 cinnamon capsules I had on hand and got the same response, the bleeding went lighter. Cinnamon also took away my painful cramps. I could not believe it.

The next day, I tried it again and to my surprise it worked. I continued cinnamon the next two days and my period came to an end much sooner. I would say, don't overdo it however. If you research it, cinnamon can also be known to bring on bleeding for those seeking to start their periods. I stick with 1/2 a tsp in the morning, and 1/2 tsp at early evening and that seems to work fine. You will have to find your personal balance.

If you are experiencing heavy flow and it's going on too long, and seems not normal for you, then please do get this checked out and make sure it's just hormonal. And please make sure you do not get anemic. I let it go so long, I almost lost my life and had to have multiple transfusions. I went through all kinds of testing, ultrasound, ct scan, biopsy to make sure I didn't have anything going on. When I got the all clear, I went right for the natural treatment. It's worth the peace of mind to make sure and, when you know what you are dealing with, you can go at it with a treatment. Peace!

Last period was a nightmare. I was bloated, exhausted, unable to leave my bed/hot water bottle unless it was to stagger into a hot bath. Maximum ibuprofen did nothing.

I tried ginger tea with alder bark and birch bark which helped the pain, to the extent that I could cut back the ibuprofen. I was able to end my period with plantain (Plantago lanceolata, not the banana-like things). So far so good. But I thought I might have cysts or fibroids so I rushed off to the doc who said she could find nothing. We agreed to wait for next period and see how that went.

In the meantime, I had ordered Apple Cider Vinegar with mother and Blackstrap Molasses and started taking it a couple of weeks ago alongside my usual herb tonic, which often includes plantain. I boosted turmeric in my diet and added maca every other day, a B complex daily and probiotics.

I have boosted my fruit and veg intake and cut down on coffee, but I still have one mug in the morning and I still eat non-organic meat (can't afford not to! ).

I am happy to report a better-than-normal period on exactly the right day! I am definitely going to continue.

If I'm not mistaken, Folic Acid helps w/ RNA multiplication, which translates into "healing". The amino acid Glycine appears to work very similar to the Folate. Glycine also helps with detoxification, is a natural nervine, and an excellent natural sweetener (add to any beverage or food).

Hi, folic acid is known to increase the lining of the uterine wall so that's what came to mind when I read your post. Let us know if it helps. There might be female herbs you can try that will help too. I will see if I can find any herbs on the net that will help this.

Stab in the dark - recently my prolapsed bladder was painful and I was getting desperate and tried to put some milk of magnesia inside the vagina and outside it with my finger coated with it...

The whole day until I washed it off the whole are was overly dry and felt uncomfortably dry dry dry..... With the bladdder rubbing down there it was uncomfortable. No rash or redness or any after shocks.

Thanks Addy, Joy, for your feedback. With regard to it being ovulation, Addy, the frustrating thing is that the girl that I share a room with at college doesn't evn wear underwear, unless and until she is on a period, so it's frustrating having to wear pads for the best part of the month, although I know she is on the pill. I read an article that says that it obviously varies according to individual women but a tablespoon a day is considered normal and its definately more that than. I was just wondering if it is something that could be dealt with naturally. I don't have a naturpath locally. I have usually just tolerated it, but a few months ago, I remembered thinking that I hadn't seen it for a while and I was just wondering if diet/lifestyle changes had anything to do with it, however, I can't remember at the time any changes that I had made. Thanks though for your concern and feedback.

From what you say, I'm thinking it's ovulation. Google signs of ovulation.. You may have your answer there. I had the same thing and was always concerned but doc said I was ok. Years later I read this, kept a journal and thats what it was. Best wishes!

Since it's a liguid from the body , I would suppose salt of some sort..... Try a multi mineral supplement equal magnesium and calcium with all the trace minerals and give it a go.... Just a guess ?

A hair analysis might give a clue. I have never had one.

Excess Clear Discharge: Hi, I am hoping someone can help with what is an embarrassing condition. It is an excess clear vaginal discharge problem. It is worse just after my period for about ten days, after which, it seems to be less problematic. I am in my twenties and it has been like this since I can remember. Just wondering could diet or something be causing/affect it as sometimes it does seem to be worse than others. I don't take the pill or meds. Periods are regular so I dont' wanna consider any kind of medication and am wondering if this could be addressed naturally. The doctor has done infection tests/hormone test and has said that all is o.k

Better But With Side Effects

Hi there, I took 4 teaspoons of White Vinegar on Friday when my periods was about to take place to stop them and also another 4 teaspoon on saturday, since then my periods never came. It's like I am skipping them for this month because this is the 4th week now of not having my periods. I am worried but others says it will come next month if I stop using a vinegar. So please help, is this true?

Also get the book, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause. Even though you are young our bodies are flooded by the hormones in our meat and poultry that cause hormone imbalances similar to menopause. Usually they plump up the critters /food with estrogen and that is what can cause a progesterone imbalance....

John Lee M. D, was a ob/gyn who helped women find some answers to this dilemma and the book is great. Most of the pages in mine have bent corners, book marks and notes in pencil. Some women that couldn't conceive used this book to help them.

My fiance has been struggling with this issue and as a former health food store owner I like to dabble at natural remedies. We'd tried arnica and protein enzymes with limited success and even tried being intimate which helps mildly. But what have we found helped the most was taking turmeric as a supplement in pill form.

I had also read that Blackstrap Molasses works well as well as black tea so I mixed the Blackstrap Molasses in with some chai tea (tasted like a ginger cookie :0) and had her drink down the turmeric pill with the tea. In less than half and hour she was dressed and ready for the day when previously she had been bedridden. IMHO it was the turmeric that did most of the trick. I'd never seen such a turnaround in all our relationship. I so glad as she relied on over the counter pain relievers before which are not all that good for you. Thank God/Goddess for a healthy alternative which actually works.

I have had heavy periods all my life. I read once on Dr. Wright's info that vitamin A helped. Take it for about three months then pull back or take a break. It has helped me greatly and one of my daughters. About 25000 iu 3 times daily. He does about taking it with some zinc and vitamin E to help absorption. You may want to try looking this up further.

YES - I have had heavy bleeding during menstruation for quite sometime now, despite all tests coming out negative including no fibroids, and all hormones in the normal range.

I have used Geranium Essential Oil mixed with jojoba as a base oil in 50/50 proportions and applied to my stomach area liberally 2-3 times daily, and I am AMAZED and blessed at the results. No cramps, and the heavy bleeding is much less and on the whole I am feeling much better and more manageable.

For anyone with heavy bleeding issues, please try this. It is brilliant imo.

I found this remedy through 'Essential Oils Pocket Reference' which is a must have for anyone interested in natural, wholesome healing remedies.
