About a month ago I was diagosed with a 6 cm Fibroid tumor in my uterus. At that point I was having very heavy periods that will last over a week with a lot of pain and passing very big blood clots. I also suffered from back pain due to the fibroid and had problems peeing as the fibroid was pressing my bladder. After I was diagnosed, I started to look for natural cures on the internet and I found your website and after reading about all the remedies I started to take molasses three times a day ( 1 tablespoon). The first thing I noticed was that my period lasted only four to five days and I have to say I was a little afraid because my blood flow was abnormally light and I did not have not even a blood clot. Also, when I started to have horrible pain I took 4 tablespoons on one go as another reader suggested and after about 40 minutes the pain totally dissapeared!!! Today I went to the doctor and they did a ultrasound scan and said the fibroid is gone!!! I am totally amazed and I am not too sure what to think, I don`t know if it is gone for ever or what but I will keep molasses in my diet just in case.

By the way, I did not use blackstrap molasses but the normal molasses which is sweeter. Also I started to eat algae (japanese Kombu-which is rich in iodine) as part of my diet, about once or twice a week, , so maybe this also played a part in the cure. Thank you very much for your website and I hope you can understand my english.

I am 65 today but when I was in my mid 40's, I was told by my doctor that I needed a hysterectomy because of excessive bleeding and fibroid tumors. I also had been literally crunching ice cubes from the tray in the ice box for quite sometime. A wonder they didn't break every tooth in my head plus it was driving everybody around me crazy. I had read this literature at some point about black strap molasses being able to get rid of fibroid tumors and I told my doctor I would let him know about having the hysterectomy and immediately started drinking 1 tablespoon black strap in a cup of water in the a.m. and another in the p.m. It wasn't long before I noticed I wasn't craving the ice cubes and the bleeding slowed to normal. When I went back to my doctor 6 months later the fibroid tumors (and there were many) had all but shrunk away. I continued drinking the molasses for a time after that and never had another problem in that area. That is the only thing I did. I was so glad I had found that little book on blackstrap and its cures. Great stuff.

I don't normally write posts but I feel that everyone one who has suffered from uncontrollable bleeding and huge fibroids should try molasses. I suffered with pelvic pain and huge blood loss for 10 years. The doctor just ignored me. I would bleed huge clumps and my side would constantly be in pain and it was ruining my life. It's been 2 months now of combining molasses with raspberry tea twice a day. My period is one fifth of the monster it once was and my pelvic pain is slowly getting better. I assume the fibroids are shrinking. I tried everything from medicine to avc and other herbal medicines. This is a miracle. I hope it helps others too. Its a tough disease that no one else understands or believes. Good luck and I hope it works for others.

Glad to hear you are doing better. Try adding Goldenseal Tea or Pills to your monthly regimen (for only 7 days straight) while using the BSM. I personally use it a week before my menstrual cycle. It helps to keep my fibroids from heavy clotting & causing pelvic pain.

Black strap molasses, turmeric, and castor oil for submucosal fibroid

Let me begin w a little background. I am 39 years old, 120 lbs, and have 2 children. 12 years ago diagnosed hypothyroid. Have had trouble regulating levels for the past several years. About 10 years ago I had a bilateral oopherectomy removal of left ovary and fallopian tube along with a noncancerous grapefruit sized cyst that I believed was caused by an IUD. A couple of years later I had the right fallopian tube removed for sterilization and to reduce cancer risk.

The past several years I have been seeing doctors to find what's wrong with me. Horrible night sweats, intense stabbing cramps, extreme fatigue sleeping for 16+ hours at once, blood clots and heavy bleeding, back pain, pain when going to the bathroom, ect. Finally I had an ultrasound last Friday 10/20/23 and they found a 2.4" submucosal fibroid, a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst, and 2 masses on my cervix. I am terrified. Follow up app tomorrow. MRI next Thursday.

I do belive in the healing power of nature and have found relief through testimony on earth clinic in the past and have come up with a self healing regime. I start today. Black strap Molasses unsulphered 1 tsp morning and night. 1 tsp ground turmeric in juice of 1 lemon and 1 tbsp ACV w the mother once a day. Castor oil rubbed into lower belly after shower every day I am not bleeding. I am also going to make a pitcher of green tea to have on hand and drink throughout the day as well as beet juice when I can afford it. I hope it's possible to heal myself. I do not want surgery let alone a hysterectomy. Thank you everyone who contributed to my herbal plan and please send healing to me. I will post an update after I receive my MRI results. 🙏

Update 11/7/23:

Since last posting, I have started taking the combination birth control pill in order to get my symptoms under control so that I may work and take care of responsibilities. I have to be honest, I have not been consistent with my at home remedies. I have been taking a multivitamin, probiotic, and turmeric almost daily, applying castor oil in belly button and on lower abdomen after almost every shower, green tea with juice from 1 whole lemon 3-4 days a week, and finally ACV and BSM randomly. I have found that taking the BSM straight off the spoon and chasing it with water is the best method for me. I have also started getting IV therapy with vitamin C and magnesium, as well as a D3 shot and will continue that once a month (more often if approved by gyno) for the next 6 months. My MRI results showed 6+ fibroids with 2 being cervical. the largest 2 measuring 5.4 cm and 1.3 cm. At this point I am welcoming surgery. I want to enjoy my life again. My follow up appointment is 11/27/23. I will update again then.

Maybe go easy on the green tea, the fluoride in it might give you more problems. You can buy theanine supplements if that's what you're after. Someone on here mentioned dairy cows are given zinc for ovarian cysts. Consider using cilantro and garlic to detox heavy metals. Look it up. No chocolate. Maybe try sage, cardamom, or rosemary tea if you need a pick-me-up. Look up Ted's Borax remedy on EarthClinic, the fluoride detox to help balance hormones. Some medications and foods contain fluoride. Valerian, American skullcap, and melatonin can improve your sleep and detox so you feel refreshed and better able to navigate your day. Best wishes

You may want to check extensively on (non-radioactive) iodine paired with selenium methionine. Research Stephanie Buist and David Brownstein. Also Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a holistic approach--the key here is to ensure you have a highly qualified herbalist with high quality TCM herbs--check credentials. I've had wonderful results with TCM in two months--from excruciating pain to zero, avoiding surgery. My herbalist said it's a common reason for consultations and most women have relief in 2-3 months. Diagnoses vary from patient to patient, so what works on your friend may wreak havoc for you.

From what I've read women need more iodine to keep breasts and ovaries healthy. Iodized salt has a paltry amount amount added which dissipates over time. Several decades back iodine was used in baked goods, then replaced with potassium bromate (bromated flour.) That's a long story in itself worth looking into. So, bottom line is most don't get the iodine like we did back then. Research selenium methionine (no more than 200 mcg daily, and it must be this form of selenium) or one Brazil nut per day taken for several weeks prior to starting iodine is key. It's hard to eat just one every day so I opt for capsule form, and eating half a package of nuts could ingest too much selenium.

As far as iodine dosage, I would work with a qualified health care professional. My doctor was also very adept at muscle testing which requires sufficient hydration for accurate results. My husband works with his doctor on an iodine protocol to keep his thyroid nodules at bay.

I'm not a doctor and your mileage may vary (my boilerplate statement ;)

Best wishes on your healing journey!

Eating Raw Cabbage for stomach pain. Also used the cabbage leaves to relieve the pain in my breast after my baby was born, and to dry up the flow of milk. It stopped the stomach pain from fibroid tumors. I believe it will completely heal my stomach if I continue to eat bothe the red and green cabbage raw. The Lord told me to do this to relieve the pain and it worked! I never knew about the extensive healing properties found in the cabbage before.

For uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts, which have a high possibility of being caused by too much estrogen in the system, try Calcium D-Glutarate. It removes excess estrogen and helps with many female problems.

My doctor told me I had fibroids in my uterus. I applied a castor oil pack with a heating pad on the area for an hour a day for one whole week while I napped and they were completely gone at my next check up thirty days later! Amazing! I believe castor oil is a gift from God to us.

HI DJ from Colorado,

Could you tell me how large your fibroids were? I would like to try a natural cure for healing from fibroids. I am wondering if castor oil packs can shrink all sizes of fibroids. I have a few, one is 7.5 cm, and a 4cm cyst on one of my ovaries. One fibroid is calcified.

Thanks so much.

Hello! Did your fibroids ever shrink? What bout the calcified one? I pray it did. I'm seeking remedies.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences, I just want to add that, if you're going to use the castor oil pack, please, please DO NOT USE any cream on your body before you do so, I had used a progesterone cream earlier in the morning after my shower, and at night before I slept I used the castor oil pack for 30 minutes on my stomach as I was trying to shrink fibroids. Luckily I usually use it for 1hour, but only spent 30 minutes that day. Then I went to sleep when I woke up the next day having had another shower and about to towel my body, I noticed some severe black criss-crossing lines all along my stomach area where I had placed the oil pack, it had eaten deep into my skin, so I stopped using the castor oil pack altogether. It's 2 months since and only still beginning to fade.

After reading all the posts it seems that dairy products are not good for Fibroids since they have growth harmones. What if we can take organic milk and home made yogurts made with organic milk. Same for organic eggs, etc? Yogurts have got friendly bacterias.. Want to know what Ted's research says about it.

I found out recently that I may possibly have a fibroid in my abdominal area. The thing is the doctors are not sure and they want me to have surgery to get it out to see if the growth is cancerous or not. The doctors said if it is cancerous, they are going to have to take either my uterus out or my ovaries and possibly my appendix. I am a 26 years old with no children, and may want some in the future. The growth is noticeable since I am petite. The growth is 15. 5 cm long and 14 cm wide. It is above my uterus so I still get my periods every month and I don't have any pain with this growth, just a little discomfort on my uterus from the size of the growth. I want to treat this just like any tumor rather it's benign or not. Can you please email me some remedies to rid this growth? I already changed my diet and started taking supplements like Quint Essence, Flaxseed oil capsules, fish oil capsules, and Vitamin C capsules. I stop eating red meat, and eat fish, turkey, and chicken purchased from Whole Foods Market. I eat my salads with apple cider vinegar. Please help. Thanks.

I tried every natural remedy known to man. None worked well (TCM & acupuncture worked a little but ultimately failed every time). I had several (successful) rounds of laproscopic fibroid surgeries before finally (and happily) having a partial hysterectomy in my mid-40's. You should not have to resort to full hysterectomy at your age, or indeed ever. Regardless of size of fibroid, there are many different treatment options, and many can retain the uterus to allow you to have kids. Don't just consult your normal OB/GYN. Talk to a physician known for specializing in fibroids, as there are many different options these days. And recovery for laproscopic surgery is fast (1 - 3 weeks).

I have been diagnosed with multiple intramural (leiomayomata)fibroids last July 5, 2009 and had a D&C immediately on July 10 to scrape things from my uterus for biopsy. Very thankful because the fibroids turned out benign. I tried to changed my diet and took herbal. Nothing happened for 6 months of my battle because the ultrasound result was unchanged, the same size (the biggest is 6.5cm x 6.2cm) by March 2010 I came across this site and immediately drank ACV with baking soda and molasses (2 tbsp, 1/8 tsp and 1 tsp respectively. I also did massage my abdomen using castor oil daily with a 2 day break in a week. I had a very heavy bleeding before but with the use of ACV w/ baking soda and molasses my bleeding was minimized. My OB/GYN however placed me under a progesterone (for 10 days in a month) so that everything will become normal and it really did! Last June 11, 2010 I had my 3rd ultrasound after 6 months and I am so happy that my fibroids the biggest in size became 5.6cm x 4. 1cm. Nothing is impossible with the Lord. Keep praying and do some research. I hope with this info you will be enlightened. There's hope and have faith!

Drink water with flaxseed ground, boil the flaxseed ground, what works best in my opinion, adding a pinch of unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Try venus flytrap pills too. I believe this is the best thing, apple cider and water. Just skim off the flaxseed. Drink the oils that boil in the water. God bless you! Change the way you eat as well. Try sauteeing prunes, raisins, apples in butter adding it to oatmeal and eat a lot of fruit and broccoli, don't eat pizza until the weekends. The tumor should come out.

And now my periods r normal. No more heavy, where you can't walk from here to more clots, that scares the heck out of ya. Thats been over a year now, and I'm still doing fine. And I also eat grapes every day, green or red. Not a specific amount, I just eat them.I HOPE this helps someone, I really do!! I feel for you all.

Black strap molasses:
I had a protuding fibroid the size of a GRAPEFRUIT---that was trying to abort itself through my cervix. Before I almost bled to death I had it surgically cut out. It developed over 6 months and just after I was prescribed birth control pills (hormones)from an obgyn. I stopped the pills after two weeks but the fibroid continued to grow.

i gulped bs molasses from the jar after the surgery. Then i stopped drinking that nasty bsm and eliminated the birth control pills. I changed my diet. No meat, eggs,( which is full of hormones ) no fish, and minimal dairy products and (only if RBST free or goats milk.) LOW FAT, HIGH FIBER is good. I eat kale on my sandwhiches instead of lettuce etc.

I eat sour kraut and drink water water water. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE INCIDENCE SINCE 2003. THATS ABOUT 6 YEARS.

If I slip up on this regimen, I notice it. My next period is clotty, lasts longer, and is more painfull, the tint is red/orange. ---TIME TO get my diet back on track BUCKLE DOWN!

I have read your site about black strap molasses and "hoping" to get rid of fibroid tumors. I have tryed it and it didn't work for me. I think this site is just a way of getting people's hope up. I had my hope up on trying this molasses thing, like i said it didn't work for me. nothing can get rid of fibroids. if there was, the doctors would tell you, and we would't have to have a hysteromecty's. think about's something that grows inside of you..if there was a cure in molasses wouldn't they tell you?? I really don't believe in this stuff. I have tryed it and i can't speak for everyone...but it didn't work for me. Were all here for a little hope and cure, but really it doesn't work.the only thing i did was to cut out coffee, something i found out on my far as im concerned, that helped me alot!! no more heavy periods. now there normal and i have 2 fibroid tumors and they were almost the size of a baseball. i'm not sure if they are gone yet, i still have to go to the doctors to find out, but my period is back to normal. thank you..

no the doctor would not tell you about natural means to treat fibroids because it would keep people out of the doctors office there for interfering with his lively hood which is prescribing medicine and patients going under the knife. natural treatments take time. you have to be patient and give them time to work

Just taking blackstrap molasses alone will take much longer if you continue to eat foods with added hormones. Fibroids are hormonal imbalances. You must detox your liver and remove all animal from your diet as well as all of the rest.. eating a majority of green leafy foods, remove every hormone and animal product from your diet and remove caffeine as well. then just wait,, it took me a year and my periods are finally at a place that i can actually walk around and work ...what a difference!!!

I have had a very large uterine fibroid. Three months ago it was about the size of a small cantaloupe and could easily be felt. When last measured by ultrasound a couple of years ago it was the size of a 14 week pregnancy. I did not want the prescribed historectomy and have been looking for a natural cure. About Jan 8 I made some changes in my lifestyle and my fibroid is now the size of a baseball or smaller. I don't know which things have worked but, these are the changes I've made: Started Lougaol's Iodine (6-7 drops per day) BSM 1 TBSP per day, dramatically rudeced wheat consumption, regular excercise, switched to bottled water and no flouride tooth paste, and now what it turns out may be the MOST important thing. I went from drinking 2-3 diet pepsi's per day to maybe one or two a week. I will now cut that out completely after reading the report I'm attaching to here I strongly encourage anyone who consumes Aspertame and suffers from any type of tumor to read about this experiment and STOP Aspertame now!!!!

I have been reading about how people are using Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and Black Strap Molasses (BSM) to shrink fibroid tumors. I used low fat vegan and raw diet and I am fibroids free. Nutrition does wonders for the body and helps its ability to heal. I started out with a vegetarian and organic lifestyle after getting fed up with allopathic medicine's appproach to the fibroids I had. I progressed to a vegan and organic nutrition and I transitioned to a raw, vegan nutrition and the fibroids are all gone. I also used herbs and spices such as Vitex (chasteberry), red raspberry leaves, astragalus, garlic, ginger, turmeric, dandelion leaves and roots, milk thistle, cramp bark, fenugreek, red clover, and squaw vine in my regimen.

Within the first week of eating a wholly plant-based diet, all my symptoms were gone. I gained a surge in energy and three months later, overcame chronic anemia that had persisted for three years. The tumors started to shrink and my hormones started to balance; I was no longer irritable. I have since been cured of mood swings, PMS, breast tenderness and fibroids. I also had a tumor on my liver that disappeared as well and I lost 38 pounds without any extra effort. I now have energy for brisk walks, bike rides, weights, yoga and pilates. I am now a firm believer in nutrition and herbs as remedies for all kinds of ailments. There are a lot of research about the effectiveness of nutrition and herbs in curing all kinds of ailments. I shocked the doctors who wanted to surgically remove the fibroids and who told me there was no cure. I am tumor free and I thank all the people who share their experiences on the web and I also thank medical doctors who are using nutrition to help their patients. It is true that we are what we eat.

Hi Amanda,

I would first advise to avoid sugar whenever possible. Then I would advise to eat alkalizing foods. I have been reading posts on Earth Clinic for a few years now and have seen great reports on women using apple cider vinegar, blackstrap molasses, and even hormone balancing herbs like red raspberry leaf. A friend of mine who is a personal trainer here in Los Angeles believes that exercise which focuses on building core root energy is very important for women who have issues in the pelvic cavity, ie fibroids, ovarian cysts, bladder issues. She sends her lady clients to kundalini yoga, african dance and/or bellydance classes!

Please let us know what you learn!

Thanks Claire, pls what type of sugar should I avoid the real sugar or all forms of sugar. Secondly am a Nigerian living in Graz. I dont know what is apple cider vinegar or blackstrap molasses. Can they be bought in pharmaceutical shops or herbal shops. Thanks once again.
