No one was more sceptical than me about natural cures, but through desperation I turned to the Internet to try and find help for my prostate issues. I am very grateful to every one who posted about apple cider vinegar because to my amazement it really works. I have had troubles for nearly four years without remedy, and yet within three hours of taking the vinegar (one tablespoon in water) the discomfort I have suffered for so long started to dissipate.

Two days later I feel so much better and I would encourage anyone suffering to give it a try. I have also started taking blackstrap molasses as recomended on another part of this site. I never post on websites but feel it is so important for sufferers to give it a try I had to help spread the word. Best wishes to everyone looking for help.

Everybody says blackstrap molasses works. What I would like to know is how long before I see results. Does it really shrink your prostate? And how can I tell?

D: It is becoming increasingly known that the regular or periodic use of Cranberry or D Mannose provides the necessary removal of pathogens in the U.T. that continually infect the prostate, resolving the issue of why so many conventional and alternative treatments weren't working.

Prostate Enlargement:

Here are some helpful insights (I hope helpful) on what might be happening relative to prostate problems.

Enlarged prostate might mean there is an infection in the prostate causing enlargement of the prostate, unrelated to cancer. The reports form various cancer studies would indicate that enlargement (BPH) does not mean there is there is cancer in the prostate.

There is more a likelihood that there is a yeast, bacterial or viral infection in the prostate causing the enlargement. But then the reaction upon learning of a BPH problem by typical health care providers is to get a needle biopsy (12 point biopsy) where 12 needles are shot through the rectum and into the prostate.

However, the infection rate is very high for such a procedure.

So there is a quandary about how to handle the issue. A regular medical approach would typically call for such a biopsy and also an MRI and then medication.

But for those wishing to take a more conservative approach, the postponement of the invasive procedures means one would be looking at natural means to reduced enlargement; use of beta sitosterol, saw palmetto, pumpkin seed and many other formulas might be first tried.

But the underlying problem of the possibility of a deep seated infection in the prostate will still not have been addressed. So often the anti inflammation problem will persist.

My suggestion is that any man suffering with BPH who is seeking out methods to deal with prostate enlargement not overlook the possibility of underlying infection.

There are some innovative methods of analysis available...Radio Wave Frequency techniques, Rife Technology and other possible avenues for determining if a yeast or bacteria or virus is causing the enlargement should be explored.

I'd appreciate any reader to comment on this issue of how to determine if an infection is present and how to deal with possible deep tissue infections...in this case a possible deep gland infection.

I have used colloidal silver over a long term in high quantity as well as Rife. So far in measuring inflammation, mine is much reduced. Deep bacteria infection appears to have been the cause and I think the Rife technology is the reason there is a reduction in infection and consequently a reduction in inflammation. Hence, I am becoming asymptomatic. Reduction in gland enlargement, however, can take a very long time to accomplish so patience is a virtue.

I have to avoid the known prostate inflammatory items such as coffee and chocolate.

Please do not try White Vinegar, it's great to clean with, it is not good to take. You can buy organic unfiltered ACV at any health store. At first it is very harsh to take straight up, you can take it with 8 oz. or so of warm water with honey, the honey will dissolve. Start with a tablespoon and work your way up to 2 tablespoons a day of acv.

I am 68, have had blood in semen for about 15-20 years, prostate checked once a year and normal enlargement for my age. I started to spice my food at lunch time with about a bit less than level teaspoon of chili pepper in liquid form. After a few days blood gone from semen completely. I also used to have one testicle where I believe some of the blood accumulated and always was somewhat larger, that testicle is also back to normal size. I have had no difficulties with urination before but perhaps urine flows a bit better. What beats me is why regular doctors, whom I respect and consult when I need to, do not seem to receive any training on natural medicine as a complement to modern medicine. It only damages their image when people experience what I have

I had both the acid reflux and the slow urine stream and getting up two and three times a night to urinate. I started on raw and organic apple cider vinegar; two teaspoons in 8 oz. of tea or water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and after 2 weeks I am much improved. In hot tea add raw honey as well. I am able to empty my bladder better and now get up once during the night. Urine stream is also better. I take the Apple Cider Vinegar "cocktail" every morning and so far great results. Take at least 1 hour before meals. They do recommend not taking over two tablespoons per day.

Blackstrap Molasses

A family member has had this condition a few years. He took terazosin and passed out (it lowered his already low blood pressure) on his face. He suffered severe facial and jaw injuries. So beware. He stills suffers with bph. What type of Blackstrap Molasses or Apple Cider Vinegar should he try? Are organic brands better? Are the unfiltered (Bragg) brands of Apple Cider Vinegar better or worse?

I tried Blackstrap Mollases yesterday morning for the first time, and by the end of the day my prostate pain was mostly gone. Today, literally 30 hours after taking molasses a few times, all of the pain is completely gone. This stuff is pretty amazing.

I took 3 tablespoons, mixed with a little hot water, and added milk. Looked like a cafe au lait, tasted like old school licorice candy. Not as horrible as I thought it would be.

If your prostate is giving you pain, then try molasses immediately.

First off, thank you to earth clinic and all the people that post on here. It is such a great site.

My partner was suffering from enlarged prostate. He was suffering quite a bit, hard to pee and frequently wanting to pee. He was put on a 3 month waiting list to have an operation. He was not sure he could last that long because of the pain of it.

He started taking 10.000 Hu cayenne tablets. Think he took about 6 a day. Within about two days the pain had eased off and he was able to pee properly again. He was amazed and so was I. He cancelled the appointment to be operated on and is now completely fine.

Mike - I agree. I feel that my bladder empties considerably more freely and completely when I stand to urinate. Perhaps it's the gravity effect?

That reminds me of an old Virginia Supreme Court opinion of the late 1880s in an appeal from a conviction of an 85 year old man of rape, in which the justice, in overturning the conviction, wrote that the "only reason for a man of that age to have a penis was to connect his bladder with the outside air! " (Can't recall the case citation, but it's in the books! )

This is strange to me, as I actually find the opposite. If I stand up to urinate, I find it easier to and at the same time seem to empty my bladder more. It's still not perfect but it's a considerable improvement I find.

Randall, sorry didn't have the time to finish the last post, prostrate requires, zinc, don't do over 100mg a day, ( over 100mg a day can depress your immune system) boron, ( is used to make testosterone) manganese (for hormones) selenium, with the beta sitosterol, also 7KETO, is good for people who are prone to sugar or have sugar, it makes a testosterone that will not convert to dihydrotestosterone which is what causes enlarged prostrate. I've recently read that one of the causes is a vit C deficiency. Hope that helps

Hi...

Any man foregoing additional PSA testing for the possibility of cancer, realizes the anxiety that goes along with the waiting.

When 52 years old I took my first PSA test and it came back at a scant 0.8. However, I had been urinating quite a bit at night, so I went to a urologist to check. And yes, like half the men over 50, it turned out that I had an enlarged prostate. The Urologist ordered Adovert once a day, and low and behold my prostate shrunk down to normal. This took about 2 years on the drug.

I had not seen my Urologist for nearly 5 years. And I went in to my family doctor for routine blood work. My PSA came back at a heafty 2.2! Quite a change from my origianl .8.

But the questioned remained how fast did it rise from year to year. They call that PSA Velocity.

While on Adovert...it reduces a person PSA level by 50%. So over the years I was on the Adovert, my PSA always came back .3 or .5.

My Urologist was thinking about doing a biopsy if my next PSA test came back high again.

So I decided to see if I could bring my prostate back into health by using a number of methods mentioned on this forum.

This is what I did for 3 weeks before my latest PSA test...which came back today at 0.89! Every day for 3 weeks.

1. 1 to 1 Molassses to Baking Soda in 8 oz of water

2. Cayenne Pepper mixed in water .... twice a day...the hotter the cayenne the better.

3. Pomegranate Juice...organic no sugars added 16 oz a day

4. Curcumin - 3 capsules of 1, 200 mg daily

5. Grape Seed Extract and Milk Thistle 1 capsule daily

6. Selenium 1 capsule daily

7. Magnesium and Potassium to help with the baking soda

That's it...except I did take along a bottle of water with a Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda mix and sipped through the day.

Yes...it seems like a lot to do. But, to take charge of my prostate condition...it was of little concern to me.

I will test again...and I will drop a few of the regimens I have been taking. Live more of a Macrobiotic lifestyle.

Contact me anytime, if anyone wants to know more. Thanks and best of health to you!

I just want to add my 2 cents here. I've suffered from chronic prostatitis for over 5 years myself. Been through all sorts of treatment options. The doctors always want to throw antibiotics in me. I've also tried numerous supplements & other natural remedies. They just don't work! Let me tell you why.

It's most likely not a problem with bacteria or viruses. It's more than likely due to CANDIDA. I've learned a ton of things from Bill here at EC. Prostate problems can be a problem with candida and also actually directly related to the thyroid as well. How many of you know that thyroid problems can also lead to prostate issues?

I would suggest to look at the Candida page here at EC for more help. I'm currently under the anti-candida protocol provided by Bill myself. You have to remain disciplined on the protocol & keep a positive attitude. It's not going to be an overnight cure.

Candida takes years to build up in the body but you won't see very many traditional medicine doctors acknowledge that if there life was on the line. Candida untreated can certainly lead to a number of debilitating diseases such as cancer. I really think the poster needs to consider candida as a probably cause. Thanks & God Bless!

Try D M S O with lugol's solution, you should have your thyroid monitored when doing iodine. Also cranberry is very good for urinary track, get a lab test to know exactly what your dealing with. Hope this helps.

Lugol's Iodine

I have a self diagnosed prostatitis problem. I decided to try applying lugol's iodine topically to the general area around the prostate. I determined this was a good way to try and kill the unwanted bacteria. I have been doing this for about a month I think. It seems to have given me some relief. I apply it in the morning and at night. It can dry out the skin and burn some. But its good effects out weigh the bad in my opinion.

Doctor David Brownstein has written several books concerning the thyroid and iodine you might research iodine to see what you are getting into. Because if your thyroid is not healthy or have hashimottos disease it could affect you. The iodine can irritate the thyroid if you have hashimottos disease. I believe a lot of people have a iodine deficiency but it can be tricky to try and use iodine.

Look up Lugols iodine on amazon and read the reviews some are pretty remarkable. Swansons website sells it along with amazon.

Dried Figs
Posted by Zark (Emerald City, The Land Of Oz) on 01/01/2014

Figs have a strong alkalising effect on the renal system. I believe that is the likely reason figs are working for you. I have had similar observations when a diet that alkalises the urine, ie by eating lots of fruit and veg, and little protein/refined sugar.

Regarding -- combining ACV & molasses --
Yes you can use them together. Tastes even worst in my opinion hehe. I quite like the taste of ACV with fruit juice. And molasses is tolerable when with strong tea.

-- reducing ACV acidity --
I have issues with the strong acidity of ACV when increasing the dose.. it hurts my teeth. So I started adding baking soda and surprisingly it still worked just as well!! I thought maybe it would stop working but all was good :-). Problem with baking soda is it has too much sodium and gives me a headache, so now I am experimenting with calcium carbonate (lime mineral) which is easily found in most (but maybe not all) calcium supplements. I have adjusted my diet and reduced alcohol consumption but still no improvement. Frankly, I'm wondering if H2O2 really works. Could you offer any helpful guidance? Thank you, Thom

Two remedies for prostate issues that worked well for me and for others with prostate issues:

* Apple Cider Vinegar - 1 tbsp in a glass or juice, once or twice a day. Can increase the dose gradually later if necessary.

* Molasses & Baking Soda - this can knock over 2 birds with one stone based on the experiences of others, ie. both prostate enlargement AND prostate cancer. 1 tsp molasses, and 1 tsp baking soda. Increase dose gradually as necessary.

Can totally relate to the issues with doctors. They don't have time to really look into our health problems in detail anymore. You need to spend a lot of money or have a very caring doctor to get good quality care. Can't entirely blame them, they are typically over-worked & stressed.

ACV works really well :) I use 1 or 1 and half tablespoons of ACV in a glass of juice and take that once or twice a day.

I started taking ACV for my prostate issues and found great relief using this. ACV is the best remedy I have found to date. No more pain when urinating. No more pain after sex. Wonderful! Sometimes the pain was really really bad, sometimes I would have erections that would not go away, and were not sexual at all..

Wonder of wonders, after taking ACV I soon noticed my mild reflux was gone.. and also my rhinitis had further improved. I use the No Starch Diet (quite similar to Paleo Diet actually) for my messed up immune system and that had already greatly improved my rhinitis (and other inflammatory immune problem too).

== Other things I tried ==

* Molasses - actually seemed to work reasonably well, but the ACV remedy is better!

* Top quality Multivitamin & Mineral & Antioxidant supplement (Pharmaceutical grade). ACV is still better hehe

* Making the renal system alkaline helped. That includes things like Cream of Tartar mixed with juice. Baking soda and water on an empty tummy. Lots of fruit & veg.. etc.

== Things that make it worse ==

** Chocolate! (due to sugar content perhaps?)

** Sugar

** Coffee

* Excessive protein consumption - makes the urine too acidic and my prostate doesn't like it.

Apple Cider Vinegar

I have similar problems, and can say for certain that this is a pelvic floor dysfunction. I've been working out in the gym for many years and still doing it and this contributed to my pelvic muscle problems.

Of course you don't have to work out to have such problems as well, it's connected to improper sitting poses, general anxiety, that goes along with unconscious muscle clenching. You won't find that information available on regular sites. I came a long way to find, been to many doctors took some medicine and nothing worked, finally discovered this site:

http://forum.hardflaccid.org/

Hard flaccid is a condition of turtling and hardening of ones penis. Fortunately I don't have this, but it is caused by unbalanced and stressed pelvic floor, and general muscle tightness. The same things that cause chronic prostatitis, erection problems and many, many more, even testicular torsion and infertility (testosterone production can be greatly reduced if tight muscles interfere with normal testicular and prostate function) varicoceles (psoas muscle is too tight or overgrown, as some on that site proved and cured their varicocele by physical therapy besides being convinced by doctors to undergo surgery)

People are generally unaware of problems caused by tight muscles, many peoples lives would be much happier if that knowledge was more widespread.

The way to recovery is long and you have to be very dedicated, but it is possible to recover for virtually everyone, I am doing it for two months and already see big improvement in my prostate problems, even my cold hands and feet became warmer recently (impaired muscle function can suppress circulation in the whole body as many experienced on that site)

So firstly I strongly recommend anybody with similar issues read this site thoroughly, take some notes, appoint a meeting to the pelvic floor therapist, start the trigger point release at home, go to yoga classes (it is extremely beneficial in such case especially bikram yoga as muscles loosen up in heat) and work on your body position during sitting, walking etc (yes even our walking patterns can influence pelvic floor) and what is the most important spread the information so more people could heal.

A vegan, my friend's dad is 60 years old with weight of 75 kg and has trouble urinating. It just drips and never really releases all the urine. After taking 4 pills of Zinc gluconate @50mg for 4 days, his condition improves. Usually it takes 15 minutes to urinate, but now he's practically urinating normally. Several doctors actually suggested him to take prostate surgery but he remains confident with natural healing. He took some testosterone pills and others but saw no real improvement. But Zinc pills, a definite yes. He's happy that he does not have to undergo any surgery to eliminate this enlarged prostate problem. As he's experienced this problem for many many years, he is continuing the 200 mg/day Zinc gluconate for a week, then tapering off to 150 mg/day as a maintenance dose. Hope this helps any of you having this same problem.

Posted by Lloyd (Charlotte, Nc) on 06/07/2013

I have a suggestion about his urine flow issue; that even though the prostrate had decreased in size, still slight flow. Maybe, just maybe, he has a low grade urinary tract infection. Easy to treat. Get some high pph colloidal silver and let him take a tablespoon on empty stomach every morning for a week. If the flow starts returning then it probably was a virus. By the way, that too would help with his prostate. And it could be that the return of enlarged prostate was due to the infection, if indeed that was his problem (the possible urinary viral tract infection I mean).

Dr Christopher's Kidney/Bladder herbal formula contains about 8 herbs that will restore the ut quite well. You might find several manufacturers of this formula at the health food store. Vit B-6 and the amino acid Taurine helps balance minerals and water in the body. You can also find a "Prostate Formula" specifically designed to improve that gland.
