I didn't realise what was going on; the tired legs, lightheadedness until finally a doctor was around at a crucial time; I'd had a really strong incident with dry mouth and pain in left arm! Had arrythmia verified 2 times but I know its an allergic reaction and heart releases histamines. I've had one doc. agree with me but others think I'm a bit crazy. I don't want to start taking beta-blockers....I don't mess with medication. Anyone else experience this. It was happening today pollen or something in the air. Other than that I know my heart is just fine.

Indeed!!! Be very careful.

For a bladder infection treatment, I was took Cipron XL 1G. It was a life- and-death situation since I had to run to hospital emergency on the 2nd day of treatment as my pulse was 200 and an obvious strong chest pain. After this episode my arrhythmia worsened.

While vinegar is good for a lot of things, arrythmia is not one of them. Arrythmia is a sign of low magnesium. Vinegar has no magnesium. Look at the label.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Kate (Paddington) on 10/14/2015

It could help because it is a source of potassium. Electrolyte deficiency is one cause of ventricular fibrillation - the other is coronary artery disease. So it depends what type of arrythmia and what is causing the arrythmia.

In any case, I developed palpations twice- once when I was on a water fast (which a cardiac technician suggested. was because of electrolyte imbalance). The second time there was no obvious cause so looked up earth clinic and took some apple cider vinegar and it helped quite quickly.

It would be good if people have accurate diagnoses for what they have and then be able to test what works, e.g., ACV. I suspect that I may be prone to electrolyte imbalance but I have no proof or certainty about that:)

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hello, I did the 2 TBSP of Epsom salt mixed with 8 oz's of water because I was having what felt like a skipped heart beat. I sprayed it all over my body & did notice that the skipped heart beats stopped within 20 minutes. Also I slept much better than I have in a long time. However the next morning I did have diarrhea. So my question is can a person get diarrhea from spraying the Epsom salt water combination onto their body this way? Not sure if it was from the spray or not. If from the spray then any suggestions on how much to spray in order to get the benefits of the magnesium. Thank you

Epsom Salt
Posted by Mary (Oregon) on 08/24/2014

Yes it can. Any overdose of magnesium will have that effect, which is what is in Epsom salts. Similar to Vit C it's best to start low and then work your way up till you find your tolerance level(it helps but has no lose bowels).

Hi. I am very interested in the MAG/CAL vitman D3 result. How long before you notice a change? I have been having episodes every day (started two days ago when my heart rate when to 120 for over an hour and back up and down between 90-100-120.) I also get it alot when I eat certain foods. I do have heart conditions but in hindsight I have been doing good. I haven't been on any heart meds since I was an infant. I have had heart problems all my life. How long did you notice the change? I am almost willing to take these beta blockers. I am tired of dealing and being worried I am going to have an episode. I am looking for a natural route to go. I remember the first time I had an eposide it was New Years day of 2013. I ended up in ambulance and they told me I had SVT. My heart Dr says arrhythmia. I do need valve replacements but there is nothing phyiscally saying I need it immediately. I have had this issue for so long without any symptoms. I am hoping that if I do this Cal/Mag it will stop the paliplations. I just can't feel like this anymore.

I looked up magnesium on the net and it says to be careful taking magnesium. It is toxic in large doses and it builds up in your system if it is not eliminated by your body quickly enough. I would be careful recommending it without some caution to the user. It could possibly harm someone with kidney disease that does not eliminate waste as quickly as a good set of kidneys.

All minerals have a deficiency, safe range, and toxic level.

If you take over 800 mg of mag. a day from all sources, including food, for over a week, you may start to experience weak muscles, a sign of toxicity, cut back to using a 400 mg supplement per day.

Great site, thank you all for sharing this information, your stories, interesting POVs and advice. I'm wondering how many people on here suffer from hereditary arrythmia? Several people in my family have had it and I'm wondering if any of these arrythmia remedies would be beneficial for someone like myself who has it "in the genes". I suppose being prone to certain deficiencies might also be hereditary. But I'm wondering in my case what to start with, as there are so many options and suggestions. I've noticed my arrhythmia since I was 18 and its gotten worse over the years. Now I'm 37 and its still going strong and getting worse. I've had all the tests and Drs say "it's not the bad kind" of arrhythmia that might cause a stroke but it keeps me awake every night and has forced me to confront it. Best in health to you all.

The deficiency that would be causing arrhytmia would be Magnesium. Search on Magnesium Glycinate, its an inexpensive but one of the best absorbable forms of Magnesium. Its a mineral supplement just like Calcium and Vit. D but we don't hear much about it. Doctors don't prescribe supplements, unfortunately, Nutritional supplementation is something we have to learn and search on our own like what you are doing now. I was in the medical field but It took me many years of search to have found Mg as help for many of my family's health issues. If you go on You Tube, search Magnesium Deficiency, you will learn so much more. Your family could use the info. Hopefully it would help each family member beat the heart irregularities .

I totally agree that it would be such a treat to find a doctor who is actually interested in healing this Arrythmia instead of dosing you up with as many drugs as possible! I have just been told I may need to have an ablation and I really don't want to go down this road! Having researched Ablation it sounds very invasive indeed not to mention dangerous. It's Magnesium for me and Vit C and no more coffee or chocolate! :-(( Or Alcohol! ) Must try the Epsom salt baths and spray! What a great site! Taurine
Posted by Dennis (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) on 04/03/2012
★★★★★

There's some research that Taurine might be one of the most important amino acids to regulate the heartbeat. The research paper on the link below discusses how someone who had 20, 000 irregular heartbeats per day eliminated them with Taurine (along with L-Arginine). The paper says that the people involved in this particular study had tried many other supplements prior to Taurine, but Taurine (with L-Arginine) was the answer for them

See George Eby Research site.

They were using very, very heavy doses (10 - 20 grams per day). For a starter dose, one could take 3 grams per day of Taurine in 3 divided doses of 1 gram (the paper says to take with meals, but I have heard that it's better on an empty stomach so that it doesn't compete with other amino acids for absorption). According to what I have read, there are no side effects for dosages up to 3 grams. Beyond that, you might want to do some searching on the internet to check on this. Overall though, it seems that Taurine is pretty safe, but it's probably best to start with small doses and build up.

From the link, it seems that L-Arginine does have side effects (sometimes severe), so proceed with caution with L-Arginine, or just supplement with Taurine and see what happens.

To Hwkmn 05: I had read in one of your older posts that you had converted to NSR with 1 gr Taurine and 1000 mg Hawthorne before taking 300 flecainide.Does that work, sometimes I may try it before the meds(flec). Was afraid to do that in case of bad reaction with the flec if supplements don't do it. Always looking for another way to convert without the "flec" if possible. But I guess I should be happy that the flec usually always does do the job in 2-3 hrs.I know o friend that is in afib for around 16 hrs but doesn't get it as frequently as I and had a stroke when it went as long as 16 hrs. Was creeping up on a gradual basis before that. Luckily she went right to E.R. and is fine now but on blood thinner forever! They kept telling her that was o.k. to be in but they did say she should take blood thinner pill if in more than 12 hrs.I think. But she only gets it every month/month1/2. The blood thinner hasn't changed any of that! Hope all is well with yours!

Pat, never saw this post until today! Must have jumped over from the other blog.

I'm not sure where I posted my supplement conversion, but those dosages look low. More like 3 gms Taurine, 1200mg Mag, 4000 mg Haw, and a few other things.

Yes, you have to be committed to this or you will be waiting some time to add the Flec, seeing that your blood is thinning with Mag and HR is lower with Hawthorne, it will interfere.

16 hrs is not long in AF. I was in once for 14 days, no clotting and certainly no stroke. Sounds like some other issue going on with her.

My supplement usage is very low now. Mostly doing C 4000mg, little Mag a bedtime. B12, fish oil. Taurine and Haw occasionally.

Mostly, as I've said before, the Vagus nerve treatment, so far so good. Added some nutritional balancing with different cleanses/enemas to some good results of wgt loss etc. Be well!

Hi all, I'm back. I am still taking the A.C.V and Bi-Carbonate of soda also I have been continuiously doing research on Cardio arrythmia. I have discovered a few facts about statins (cholesterol medication ) they have an adverse affect on the muscles of the body paticularly the heart muscle , I have read that the body produces COQ10 naturally when taking the prescribed medications of statins they counteract the the production of COQ10 and now I can say that by taking A.C.V and Bi-carbonate of soda helps the body to become alkaline. The A.C.V has a lot nutriments that help the body such as Magnesium which is also important for the heart the body naturally produces carbonates to make the body Alkaline naturally, by eating a lot of acidic foods the body depletes its supply of carbonates so by taking Bi-carbonate of soda helps neutralise the acids replenish the carbonates in the body which takes a little pressure off the body thereby helping to control the cholesterol, which takes the pressure off the Gall Bladder. I have not taken any medication for six months now. I went to my doctor last week and had across the board blood test cholesterol.

P. S. A Diabetes and so on I went back this week and all was normal except Diabetes was diagnosed as mild but we are all individuals and have different life styles so I have given this information from my experience. best of luck

Food Allergy
Posted by Shane (Palm Beach, Queensland/australia) on 12/05/2011

Hi there. I have heart arrythmia (well HAD it) for about a year. I would have an episode where my heart was beating all over the place or skipping beats about once a week to once every 2 weeks. The episodes could last for most of a day and sometimes longer. They left me worn out and feeling crappy.

Now I am a big fan of oats and would eat them regularly but it seems that oats are not my friend. There came a time when I stopped eating oats for 3 months and for the entire time my heart arrythmia stopped (as did my frequent heartburn). I then ate oats for one week and low and behold both my arrythmia and heartburn returned. That was when I noticed the correlation and so I again stopped eating oats for a few months. The heartburn and arrythmia ceased immediately. Recently I ate oats again and the symptoms returned.

I therefore now do not eat oats. I can eat bread and I eat cornflakes every morning but no oats.

I've asked doctors about this but they seem to discard it and tell me I shouldn't have stopped taking the medication (which I took for only about 1 week as it seemed to make the arrythmia worse), even though I seem to have cured my problems without drugs.

I have found no scientific evidence for my case and have searched the internet for reasons for why it works but there seems nothing. In fact I have found a number of sites recommending oats for heart problems, so I can't explain it, but hey... cutting out oats from your diet to see what happens can't harm anyone so I hope this helps someone with the same problem.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Bill from Pampanga:

I asked this question but forgot to check back here till now. Thanks for replying Bill. Mercury Drug Store in the Philippines sells 10 volumes RHEA H2O2 (Agua Oxigenada) made by Telstar Manufacturing for PHILUSA. This must be the red and white tip bottle you mentioned. It doesn't list any other ingredient other than H2O2, so it must be okay. Will taking 6 drops in filtered (3-stage sediment filter, Carbon filter and UV sterilized water be okay for mixing it in or do I have to buy Absolute or Wilkins distilled drinking water?

I also bought United Home Sodium Bicarbonate tablets(680 mg. ). Instructions say take 3 times a day, 1 hour after each meal. Would this do instead of mixing 1/4 Sod. Bicarb in 1/2 glass of water? I wonder what the equivalent of 680 grams of Sod. Bicarb in measuring spoons (1/4 or 1/2?)

Can I take the 6 drops of H2O2 with or after the Sod. Bicarb?

I have a discomfort in my upper left stomach that is activated by eating sweets. It disappears when I stay away from sugar stuff but returns after taking sweet stuff like fruit and grapes. I don't want to wait and be diagnosed with cancer and start treatment so I must as well do now. I ordered some maple syrup to be mixed with Sod. Bicarb but I just read Ted from Bangkok's instructions not to take it with maple. Ted seems to know a lot so he must be a practicing doctor who tried out a lot of alternative cancer treatments. I don't think I can buy Lugol's Iodine here in our country, can you?

I've had a quadruple by-pass in 1993. 12 years later in 2005, I was scheduled for another angiogram and possible stent or by-pass. Couldn't afford it and I really don't want to go through it all over again. I opted for Intravenous chelation and had 35 IV's using EDTA and Plaquex plus vitamins in IV form and O2 in water solution and came out okay. I didn't exercise and watch my diet so in April 2010 this year, I had 12 IV's of EDTA and Plaquex only again. Not having money to continue the IV chelation treatment, I tried Cardio-Renew EDTA in liquid drops and I am okay now. I can't get an endoscopy till I have a cardiac clearance but it costs money that I don't really have. So, I don't know what I got in my stomach. I have a super sweet tooth and was fond of sweets. But now, I am abstaining because I fear what may be inside my stomach. It's like a sore that won't go away but the sod. Bicarb tablets is helping a lot till I eat sweet stuff again. This causes my heartbeat to go medium fast and irregular. Could this be candida?

I noticed that after staying away from sweets and taking the sod. Bicarb tablets, the arrhythmia disappears. It's a strange one that normally starts when I lie down on my left side (most of the time. Positional arrhythmia maybe? I wonder why and what's causing it on my left side. Thanks so much and I'd appreciate suggestions from you Bill or Ted or anybody.

TED I dare you to answer all of my questions as nobody seems to know. If you decrease the acid in the stomach by drinking water with meals then how are you going to digest protein. What proteins can you eat and still have a 7.3 ph to kill yeast. Also, almost every other site you go to says not to drink with meals because it dilutes digestive chyme. Also how do you know if the body is releasing carbonates or not. Maybe by drinking BS your pancreas will stop releasing it.

In response to some of your other posts :If you don't take calcium because yeast attaches to these calcium walls where are you going to get your calcium from (not from your food because if you have leaky gut or digestion issues you are not digesting your foods)What is a great candida meal for you. I guess what I am trying to say is some of these techniques leave the body deficient.

Ripple, there's no need to dare Ted to respond to you or post that "nobody knows any of the answers" when this is the first time you've posted these questions here. I know Ted's pretty busy now helping some people in life and death situations, so until he can get back to you, I'll post some links that might be of interest to you and others here.

1) "... a lot of complementary practitioners recommend against drinking water with meals, believing it dilutes the stomach acid and, hence, interferes with proper digestion. Technically this is not true, Dr. B says, as the water probably doesn't significantly mix with digestive juices. So for the record it's only people who are having problems making enough stomach (hydrochloric) acid who need to worry about this...."
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=549283
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=549283

2) "...the greater part of the water passes through the stomach in less than fifteen minutes; therefore it will not interfere with the meal. Even three to five glasses may be taken at one meal and half an hour later no more will remain than if only one had been taken...."

"To review those with a large amount of gastric juice, of high acidity, may drink with advantage; those with low acidity, may be injured, especially if motility is at the same time impaired. Those with good motility have no reason to avoid water drinking with meals. Those with poor motility should take no more than eight ounces of fluids of all kinds with each meal. "
Source: http://www.oldandsold.com/articles07/eat-20.shtml

3) There are medical tests your physician can conduct and send to a lab to measure your carbonate/bicarbonate level.

4) You're worried that the body will stop producing carbonates/carbonates if you supplement with such? I have seen no data saying such can happen but perhaps it hasn't been researched and published yet. But if someone is suffering and they don't have money and carbonate/bicarbonate supplementation has been found to be beneficial in research that has been done, then you have to weigh the current quality of life against that possible risk until it is hopefully one day known and published. Regular loading of say with sodium bicarbonate could upset the sodium/potassium balance, but then you can just add some potassium citrate or bicarbonate if needed.

5) In some cases, leaky gut is caused by excess calcium
http://www.healthyawareness.com/articles/about-dysbiosis/what-is-leaky-gut.aspx

6) Most of us have plenty of calcium. If your body can't absorb nutrients from food, it'll most likely have trouble absorbing nutrients from supplements to one degree or another. So focusing on healing the ailment first and worry about supplementing with calcium later unless it there is a known severe deficiency. "Leaky gut syndrome also creates a long list of mineral deficiencies because the various carrier proteins present in the gastrointestinal tract that are need to transport minerals to the blood are damaged by the inflammation process.... If the carrier protein for magnesium is damaged, magnesium deficiency develops as the result of malabsorption.... Further, bone problems develop as a result of the malabsorption of calcium, boron, silicon and manganese. "
Source: http://www.mold-survivor.com/leaky_gut_syndrome.html

7) Also if leaky gut is often caused by yeast breaking down the walls of the intestine so food and toxins leak, why would you be worrying about calcium supplementation since yeast/fungus feed off of calcium? I would focus on remedying the ailment first then worrying about getting enough calcium. Even if you take an oral calcium supplement, as I wrote above, the body might not be able to absorb it well either. These techniques may sometimes leave some bodies deficient, but what is better to just suffer and do nothing when we have affordable, easy to access remedies that many are posting positive feedback to on various home remedy websites (as well as even some traditional medicine research has even touted the positive benefits of such).

I hope with all my heart to have this done in a year! Is a cup of rice or two rice cakes ok ? My husband needs weight and also has candida and is already thin. I would not eat them with a protein. I am an avid food combiner. Thanks honey...

Go to a Traditional Chinese Doctor and ask for DAN SHEN (a Chinese herb). It does not cure arrythmia, but it calms things down. Remember that there is Dan Shen and Dan Shen. It was not until I went to a Chinese Doctor that my arrythmia calmed down. Some people may find it expensive, but I think it is reasonably priced. I have used it for over twelve months. I found that regular medical specialists were hopeless. They just do not know what to do, but of course allow one to think they are in control.

Bill, Will magnesium malate work for arrythmias?

EDTA Chelation
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 06/26/2010

Hi Mikec...I can think of no reason why magnesium malate should not work for arrythmia. The malic acid from ACV is converted to sodium malate salt when Baking Soda(Sodium Bicarbonate) is added to ACV in solution. Malates will provide more energy for the cell Kreb's cycle. The magnesium part should act in the normal way to relax the heart muscle more as well as help balance any excess calcium, acidity and tension created in the heart muscle.

The more usual magnesium forms to supplement are mag chloride, mag citrate and mag gluconate. I have seen and bought magnesium gluconate from GNC in SM Mall in Baguio and Manila. I have also seen various magnesium supplements at Healthy Option shops in SMs like Asia Mall.

I found that both taking Magnesium Bicarbonate water and absorbing magnesium sulphate(Epsom Salts) in solution transdermally was the best way to get rid of my own arrythmia problems. I bought a large milk carton of Epsom Salts crystals from Healthy Options recently and it cost only 99 pesos. I put a couple of tablespoonfuls of Epsom Salt crystals in a garden sprayer and, after my shower, just spray myself all over and let it be absorbed transdermally. This is the most economical way to absorb larger amounts of magnesium than supplementing -- and with this method there will be no intestinal problems.

I also learned somewhere on this site that apple cider vinegar is helpful in cases of arrythmia. Will like to hear about how your situation improves. Following surgery for a blocked carotid artery, I found out about ProArgi-9. Wonderful stuff for clearing arterial plaque. You simply take a scoop each morning and night in a glass of water. Much easier than chelation systems I have tried.

Please do Google it and find out about Dr Prendergast, the inventor. My surgeon has never heard of it and does not want to know about it!!!

Hi Mike from Stockton

I have fairly high blockage on descending arteries and get breathless easily, was 65% after NO intervention during an exam. That was 6 yrs ago. I continue along my merry way without stents etc and do Yoga, take nutrition and the occasional glass of wine weekly. I am trialling EDTA powder orally and, other than clearing out the bowel, can't assess any other benefits over 3 weeks. Take about 1500mg in divided doses over 24 hours on empty stomach.

You mention Serrapeptase - taking it for 6 months. How do you evaluate the blockages have cleared - you mention running etc. Did you have an angiogram to confirm?

Would you share the amount you took, and similarly for Nattokinase.

Many thanks.

For the user who mentioned homeopathic remedies I would love to know the names and dosages that worked for you. Understandably its different for each person but seeing a Homeopath may help me also.

Have you tried Molasses? It has 4 YEAS.

EDTA has been historically used to clean the arteries. Nattokinase has obsoleted EDTA. Unless there is a blood flow problem, I wouldn't think this would work for Arrhythmia.

Recently Dr Mercola published few studies that found that both marathon runners and long distance runners have arrhythmia. He claims also that researchers found that long continuous exercise is not as beneficial as short high intensity bursts, lasting only 20 min or so he calls it (HIT). I also wanted to add that I personally developed arrhythmia at age 58, shortly after completing my cross country trip on a bicycle in the year 2000. It supports of what Anne from Chicago said, about strenuous long term activity and possible "lactic acid buildup". I did not have any issues beforehand. I still have the AFIB, my pulse is very low (well conditioned athlete) but the hurt rate is irregular and the Drs for long time wanted to put me on blood thinners (for the last 13 years, but I refused). So far so good, but would like to get rid of the AFIB, now I'm 70 and still bicycle a lot. Taking Mg glycynate (400Mg) but not sure if it helps.

Hi Roman and James, I am also a runner, for over 20 years now, age 56. I have had irregular heart rate for about 10-15 years now. Mine is slow and irregular. It happens about every 2 weeks and lasts for up to 24 hours. Then it goes away for another 2 weeks or so with an occasional irregular beat here and there in between. I feel like I've tried cutting out just about every food I can, alcohol, caffeine, dairy, glutamate, etc. I've also tried many supplements, potassium, magnesium, taurine, all the vitamins and still have it. Even took a month off of running just to see if it mattered. During the days after an episode I can eat anything and do anything without an episode. But for some strange reason I seem to be on a schedule of every 2 weeks. Sometimes I will go back to back some weeks but usually it's every 2 weeks. Sometimes it will only last 12 hours but usually it's closer to 24 hours, never more than that. I been to the doc, did the ekg, echo. They say my heart is fine and recommend the usual blood thiners, etc. I also have little to no dizziness, chest pain or other symptoms. I wish I knew what to do to get rid of it. I'm a little concerned with going overboard on the magnesium but am also tempted to try more. Currently I take about 300 mgs of supplements also eat foods high in magnesium like spinach, nuts, etc. I use to run alot, like 70 miles per week, now more like 40 mpw, have run over 100 races along with 7 marathons. I also sweat a ton when I run except in the winter it isn't too bad. Just wish I could figure this out. I'm worried one day my heart's just going to stop, I mean at a young age, relatively speaking.

As I'm writing this I'm in afib now. Should be stopping soon, it's been about 23 hours. When it happens my hr gets as low as 37 bpm. Normally it'a about 48-60, lower at night, higher during the day. Not sure if the cayenne or other remedies would work for me. Probably will need a pacemaker at some point. Just hope I figure it out before that. If there's an answer that is. Do either of you think I should try to double my magnesium doses, maybe up to 600 mgs a day? A little concerned about too much. Maybe I worry too much. Oh well good luck to all you folks. Hope to hear back from some of you. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

B: Insufficient bile flow which is a condition called cholestasis and/or cholesterol gallstones can and do cause heart irregularities.

It would prove advantageous to broaden the scope of your heart support nutrients w/ advanced nutraceuticals like Carnitine, CoQ10, and d-Ribose. Dr Sinatra goes into some detail on these nutrients in his publications and media presentation; along w/ warnings on the dangers of statin drugs for reducing cholesterol.

If you haven't made the switch from processed salt to Sea or Himalayan Salt, then now is the time to do that. These "real" salts have other major & trace minerals which provide a complete balance to body chemistry.

Hi Carly,

Didn't see a reply button on your post so went to the next one down. Not sure on how this site works just yet.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I will try another 200 mg of magnesium as you suggest and monitor. Today I took some others advice and bought some ACV and cayenne pepper, just to try. You never know when that one thing may make a difference. I will also look into your suggestion about serrapeptase (never heard of it). I like your other suggestion about the cervical spine. I've had problems in my neck area in the past, mind pain and stiffness, and had considered that to be a possible problem. Sometimes get numbness in my finger tips too. It may be worth checking out and getting an adjustment in that area.

Again, thanks for the tips. I love these kinds of sites. I've solved more problems on the internet. You never know when you'll come across that one bit on information that makes the difference. Think I'll keep visiting this site. I'm always having one problem or another that I would like to improve. Sometimes I have some things to share also. Not sure if they allow links to other sites here. Some sites I've visited claim that glutamate is a big problem. Found a nice lecture video of a Dr Blaylock on this topic, He calls them excitotoxins and in high doses they can penetrate the blood brain barrier and cause a wide range of problems. Let me see if I can post the link. If the site doesn't like them then they can delete them I suppose.

Scroll down this page a bit to get the Blaylock video, pretty interesting:

Carly, Glad to be aboard. This seems like a good site. No registration either which I like. Post away, no hassle.

I didn't know taurine counteracted MSG. I found out about taurine on a running site. This runner said it cured his arrythmia. I tried it for a couple of months and continued to have my episodes so I stopped. But recently started taking it again. I have the 500 mg also. I've always thought MSG was a problem for me, a trigger. Whenever I eat chinese food, soups and other stuff with MSG I seem to have a problem. I read all labels now. I'm surprised your husband even goes near it, I don't anymore. But I guess if the taurine cancels the effects then why not. It does add flavor.

Bought some CoQ10 today. I'm trying everything, getting desperate to find a cure for this. I take so many supplements now. I do feel better in many areas since I started taking supplements. I think when you exercise aggressively like I do you lose a lot of nutrients through sweat, etc. I always thought I was getting enough through food but I think I was wrong. I now feel better, sleep better, think better, less stressed, since adding supplements. Just wish the darn afib would go away. Like so many other problems I've had in the past I usually find the answer at some point.

Nice chatting

Hello

I am 30 year old runner (15 years o training) and I have had arythmia problem for 5-6 years. I have irregular heart beat after end of the training (not during) sometimes when I stand very quickly or lay down from standing postion - my heart stops and beats very slow but very strong and there are some extra heart beats. During the stress there is the same situation. Lot of circumstances when I have it. I tried lot of magnesium - didn't work. Suplementation with vit C B Q10 CAL MAG D, MAG, ZInk, Kelp, selenium, chrom with wanad - most of them from nutrilite. Nothing has changed. My heart beats slowly but very strong after my entrance on the second floor upstaris it stops then it beats irregular- I don't feel tired by my chest is doing everything incorrect. during that I have something like reflux but with empty bubbles of air - nothing else. I also tried Taurin and Argin from about month - nothing changed. Do you have some solutions for me?? I will be very glad and greatful of every opinion. My e mail is: nogaje(at)o2.pl

I'll agree with the first responder to this post, as it appears the problem is in the circulation and not the heart itself. There are several different cleanses you can do for the arteries & veins. For veins take Rutin, White Oak Bark, Horse Chestnut, Butchers Broom. For arteries Cayenne/Ginger, Hawthorn, Garlic, Gingko Biloba, ACV, Lemon Juice, MSM/Vit-C/L-Lysine.

Another problem source to consider is Parasites, especially Ascaris aka Roundworm. If you have indoor/outdoor pets or are around tame or wild animals as a hobby or trade, you are likely exposed to parasites. Ascaris stages are very damaging to arteries and the heart. Someone only days ago posted here on E.C. of a recent heart surgery or ablation and after recovering from that procedure is back to the heart pains which she has now found are caused by parasites (is doing para cleanses now).

Hello Everyone;

I've been reading your posts and finding them very helpful. I have had afib for about 5 years now. I have also been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had a cryoablation a few months ago but it seems that the episodes are worse. The doc has put me on amiodarone as he feels that it is still too close to the ablation to make any drastic decisions. I currently am in afib every other day. I have no intention of remaining on the amio for more than 3 months. I have decided to try a more natural approach. I've been taking800 mgs magnesium for a few years now but not currently with the amio. After a lot of research and review of your posts I plan to do the following:

Iodine (lugols)

magnesium 800 mg daily works for me

sellenium (never tried but I'm going to start)

Apple cider vinegar daily

Vitamin C

And I'll switch to sea salt

Also have to shape up the diet. I've gotten off track and may be cause of the increased episodes.

Thanks for all of the great info!

Greetings Alisa,

I had to carry the magnesium or at least potassium around with me to stop heart palpitations, because I never stick to a good diet, shame on me.

If I take the Lugol's iodine in the morning it lasts pretty much all day (i started with one drop in water, I am up to seven drops water), I don't have to reach for it a second time.

I do end up taking a break from some of the remedies. However here are three other things, to look into that I do not see on your list that I know really helps me in regards to heart palpitations and chest pains:

Natural E, Zinc, and CQ10.

P.S to fellow Snow Diggers, go easy with the shoveling. The first time I ever remember getting chest pains was while digging snow in my sixties. You have to know when to stop digging. A ticket is cheaper than a funeral.

Thank you for responding. I have seen CQ10 recommended. Also: Vitamin D3, Hawthorn Berry, Taurine, Beetroot extract. It's all a bit overwhelming. I spoke with doctor today and discontinued the amiodarone after just 4 weeks. I am now on nothing for rhythm or rate for the first time in 5 years. Apparently, I need to be off of amiodarone for at least 3 months before I can start iodine protocol. I hope I make it! Doctor is actually talking about a pacemaker due to slow heart beat but I think my heart rate was slow due to the meds I was on. I have never had this issue before. I plan to start wit iodoral. I think I'd rather take a pill than drink it.

I'm going to start some of the supplements in the meantime. Any advice at all is appreciated!

It really doesn't bother me like it used to so they push ablation but im not going that route now anyway! Keep taking supplements and sometimes they even stop it for me! If necessary I take 12.5 metatoprolol if needed. Don't want to take it all the time as it does not prevent the Afib and why should I then? I wish i could say i was like others on this board. occasional problems. i have atrial fib all day every day. i take coumiden so i don't get a stroke.i also take metroprolo to control the beat somewhat.

i am a person that has suffered with high stress for most of my life including my childhood and have a tendency to take things personaly further adding to the stress load. i have on occasion snapped and went berserk on more than one occasion. i suppose that really made my adrenals weak.

i have tried apple cider vinegar, liver flush, fasting, hawthorn berry syrup, green tea, baking soda for acidity reduction, calcium and magnesium, trace minerals, carrot juice, beet juice, celery juice. hemp hearts, omega three. the only thing i have not really got into is adrenal therapy and thirty day juice fasting. if i don't find the source of the problem i will just have to wait for this to kill me. its been this way for 2 years now and i am ready to cure myself because the mds haven't got a clue.

I have arrythmia and atrial fib. I have been to many docs and have tried lots of meds. Nothing stops it when it happens. I have gone off all meds each time after trying them out. What keeps me feeling best is eating raw fruits and vegies for breakfast and lunch, staying away from wheat and dairy and eating a healthy dinner of vegies and meat or fish. I find this keeps my system moving regularly and limits episodes of arrythmia. I don't use the meds and here is another helpful tip. When I feel like an episode is upon me, I try to escape and meditate in a quiet place.

Also, bending over and allowing blood and pressure to fill the chest and head area is helpful when it feels bad. I also bring my attention to my breathing and it becomes more of a normal way of being if you are bringing your attention to your breathing on a regular basis. At those times of obvious arrythmia, I notice my breathing is shallow to non existent, practically, and bringing the oxygen back in with deep, rhythmic breathing is very helpful. Mostly, EAT RIGHT (RAW fruits and vegies and seeds)!!! BREATHE WELL!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

11/14/2008: Bluebell from Acton, MA writes in again, "also, try vit b and b12 and try magnesium supplements. They may help you with your reaction and calm you a bit. You mentioned juicing. That would be my recommendation. I have done that and have felt great. I do that with smoothies in a vita mix blender and use fresh leafy greens and fruit daily for morning meal. NO BREADS or cooked food for whole day til my early dinner which as I said, is mostly vegies, meat, fish and a non wheat, non cheese starch. It really makes a difference and i have lots of energy. I am discovering that i really must have an allergy to the dairy and wheat because i feel better when i am off of both. I suspected the flour caused arrythmia for many years, now, but it isn't just the white flour, but I think the wheat altogether. good luck!

Hi Ron, It's been almost 10 months since you last checked in, I have a similar problem as you, last winter I finally got off my butt and started working out again, motivated in part because I started having these weird feelings every once in awhile, usually after eating high in sugar (donuts, or even home made fruit smoothies), I figured I might be on the verge of a diabetic issue. So I started to watch my diet and working out. I've pretty much been a water only drinker for the past decade. I was doing okay, lost 20-25 lbs. after the first couple months, then bam!, the weird feeling started happening, almost every day. I wondered if I was over-training? So I backed off a little, then softball season started I gradually stopped working out all together for the summer, saving my energy for practice and the games. I even had my roommate bring me to the ER once, only to have them say my heart was fine, that I must have GERD. I was a bit suspicious, I know what heartburn is, this wasn't it, but I started eating tums like candy. I started to dig around online (obviously still am ;oP) to try and figure out what's going on. In the process I learned the weird feeling was arrhythmia. It still seems to me to be diet related. Eliminating sugars didn't seem to be the answer, actually eating a few spoonfuls of peanut butter and honey seemed to calm the heart down. I also found eating some fatty beef helped too. (Maybe it is a stress issue and comfort foods help?) And the subject of allergies causing them got me thinking. Soy, Wheat, Dairy, Eggs? Now soy is suppose to be heart healthy (which apparently may not be supported by facts) so in addition to buying a bunch of expensive vitamins I bought a bag of edamame (soybean in pods) and although tasty, I noticed after eating those I had a bad flareup, maybe I'm allergic to soy? So I research that possibility and there might be something to that. Trouble is, you pretty much have to make ALL your food at home from scratch, because when you start looking at labels you'll realize how much soy has invaded processed foods, it is in everything, breads, pizzas, donuts, cookies, chocolate, peanut butter, fried chicken, even some seasonings have it. I've even seen it in cheese. And to think I was using soy milk on cereal as I seemed to develop a lactose issue (but not with cheese, go figure). So going on the notion that it might be a allergic reaction in my stomach, causing internal swelling and pressing on my vagus nerve, which I read could cause irregular heartbeats, I started taking Benedryl, mainly during the evening along with a couple baby aspirin and a magnesium pill, and it seems to at least help me get to sleep. I think I did read something about salt at one point, but it didn't really stick. Like you I've been avoiding adding salt to my food, if I eat too much salty chips or popcorn I actually feel nauseous. So I'm curious, it's been almost 10 months, how has the salt treatment been working, is it working? How much are you taking? Please check back in and give us an update? As it is, I will stop by a store tomorrow and pick some up and start adding a little to my meals. I will check back in with an update if it works for me too. Thanks, -Logan. It's 3:40 am here and my heart rate has gotten down to 70/min. (my resting was 50 before this all flared up) so off to bed.

I took B-100's for many years as I believe they are the ONLY heart attack and stroke preventer (other than exercise, of course ). Now I have temporarily quit the B-vitamins and my arrhytmia problems have greatly reduced. I will have a blood test soon and hopefully go back on the B's, but in moderation.

So sorry, Ron! I also have afib and am trying everything. I do get good results from some of them. Not everything though. Hang in there! Something will work soon!

Olive Oil

I have used virgin olive oil (3 tablespoons a day with food)from Iherb online store. After about one week I felt my heart racing. I thought it was only hydrogenated coconut oil that would cause problems like that. Can anyone explain that please?

Hi, I just read your post and had to add my thoughts. I have severe food reactions to salicylates and histamine in food so much so that it will bring on arrhythmia. Olive oil and citrus are very high. Might be worth checking out the "fedup" website. Good luck
