To Whom it may concern, I could not stand the taste of the Vinegar and water mix when I drank it or the smell of it when it came out as sweet so I come up with this mixture on my own. I take a half gal. Jug of 100% grape juice and pour out 1/3 cup of it down the drain or drink it. I then pour in 1/3 cup of Heinz Apple Cider and mix it up and chill in refrigerator. I drink one cup of that mixture everday with 2 tablespoons of Kretschmer's wheat germ added. The easiest way to do this is to take an empty bottle of Kretschmer's and put a piece of tape on it at the one cup level. The day before pour in the jar one cup of that mixture and add 2 tablespoons Wheat Germ. I swirl it around in the jar and drink it down. My Sinuses have cleared up as well as my Arthitis.

I add 1 tablespoon ACV, splash of Texas Pete hot sauce, dash of herbal salts (or sea salt)in a six ounce juice glass and add tomato juice and stir. Takes the place of an evening Bloody Mary. Celery stalk optional.

if you are just drinking Heinz apple cider vinegar it is not doing the same thing as if you are using the organic, raw vinegar with the active mother in it.

I love the reader who wrote drink while holding a rabbits foot... sounds like something out of the X-Files. I can see Mulder's face right now.

For those who are using the Apple Cider Vinegar in water and don't like the taste, it works and tastes great when you mix it with Apple juice, a dash of cinnamon, and a little honey. I heat it in the microwave and drink in the morning instead of my coffee. It keeps my congestion at a minimum, and I have chronic allergies to everything, so this is a true God send for me.

WARNING!

Nice idea but you zap all the enzymes out of your ACV when you use the microwave. In fact it does this to ALL your food. Read it up on the net.

I have been drinking 1 tbls of ACV in 12oz of unsweetened Grapefruit juice and 1 tbls of Organic Honey 3x a day for 1wk. I have lost 10lbs so far and have more energy then I've had for a long time. The grapefruit juice dilutes the vinegar enough that all you taste is the juice. I almost want to drink it all day but I don't want to over do it. Can you over do ACV in a day?

For those asking what you can add to the ACV to make it sweeter, just add the ACV to a glass of apple juice and you can barely taste it. I just started with 1 t. In a small glass of apple juice and it just tastes like apple cider. I'll be increasing that to 2 t. Soon. I'll be experimenting with the ACV, water, and apple juice mixtures in a big bottle that I can sip throughout the day. I'll post the results soon.

Continuous contact of the cider vinegar on the teeth is not good for the enamel and can soften it. Best to consume at varied times of the day.

Regarding sweetening of the acv drink- I use d-ribose to sweeten my acv drink because its a vital nutrient that the body needs but is also naturally sweet! :) patrice

I've noticed the several postings regarding ACV recipes - however can you take the ACV straight 1 or 2x a day?

EC: A few others have asked the same question.. here's the thread: https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/acvinegar2.html#ACVCHASERS

Because of the acidity it would not be advised to take it straight without any sort of other liquid to dilute it. It can burn the mouth and throat tissue.

It can wear on your teeth and cause much damage to your insides over time if it is not diluted. It is HIGHLY acidic.

I don't usually go for "health food" or "organic" or "natural" remedies... but I'm totally convinced about apple cider vinegar. I hope I don't offend anybody on this site; I put a big splash of acv in a 32 oz bottle with a packet of peach ice tea mix and lots of water and ice. I love it! Another recipe is to add a splash of acv and an equal splash of lime juice to 32 oz of water and ice. Sweeten with agave (another new discovery!) to taste. Wonderful!!

I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a way to get my kids to take ACV. Drinking it in water is out of the question, but today I mixed 2 tbsp ACV, 1/4 tsp baking soda in 8 oz of organic apple juice and you can't taste the vinegar at all. Just tastes like apple juice. This might be a solution for those who want the benefits but not the taste.

It is most enjoyable to mix the daily dose of apple cider vinegar with grapefruit juice - the slightly bitter taste neutralizes the astringency of the vinegar. I use one table spoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass of grapefruit juice.

I add a little amount to salt to reduce the sourness of vinegar. I sometimes make a drink with lemon juice, water, salt and little honey or sugar and add some crushed mint leaves. The drink is refreshing specially during the summers.

I like apple cider vinegar with salt instead of any kind of sweetner. 1 tablespoon ACV in 8 oz water with 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt. Is this good, or bad?

I am surprised I haven't read about my ACV concoction, unless I've just missed it. I mix 1-2 tablespoons (depending on the need) with about 8 ounces of very cold all natural apple juice. I drink one first thing in the morning and about an hour before bed. I've learned to truly love the mix. It generally tastes like a very tart apple cider. You can adjust the amount of juice to control the dilution ratio of the ACV accordingly to your personal taste. It will obviously cost you more if you choose to mix the ACV with more juice. I hope this helps...

This is a tonic my husband swears by...1 cup/mug of warm water (not boiling,) 2 tsp. of raw natural honey, 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar and one tsp. of BLACK STRAP molasses. This tonic gets him going in the morning. He also uses it when he has worked hard and his feet/muscles are sore.

I became a vegetarian 5 months ago and am also a breastfeeding mom. I thought my loss of energy was simply a side effect from the birth and being up a lot at night. I started the "tonic" you describe a few weeks ago - a friend suggested it to me. WOW! My husband and I call it our "hippie drink" - 1-2tsp black strap molasses 1-2tsp apple cider vinegar (with the mother) 1-2tsp blue agave in purified water (about 8 oz.) - it will really rev you up in the morning an make you feel cleansed.

It's always nice to know that breastfeeding mothers are proactive in their health and the health of their young.

For my kids, I put 1 tbsp ACV in 4oz of cold "Simply Rasberry Lemonade" and add 4 drops of lemon juice. I suppose any brand of raspberry lemonade will work. You can smell the ACV a little but not taste it, they love it!

Thank you for all those recipes. I too have found the taste of ACV and smell "gagging". But I have understood the health benefits outweigh the "gag", so I am going to try those recipes. Thank you.
