[YEA] 09/11/2011: Blindedbyscience from Asheville, Nc: "I took 50mg twice so far when I had a headache with amazing fast relief. The first time it went away so easily that I thought it was a coincidence. I took another 50mg last night after taking 50mg earlier for the headache for sleep and and I didn't have any problem falling back to sleep when awakened during the night. Also I recently went vegan after being lactovegetarian for 31yrs and I think the 5 htp gave me a sense of relaxation kinda like dairy does."
[YEA] 07/17/2008: Stefanie from Minden, Louisiana: "I found this remedy when I was looking for herbal remedies for my daily headaches. I found 5-HTP. According to the article, some of the things it helped with are insomnia, headaches, anxiety & depression. I thought could it be? I immediately went to my husband to show him what I had found because he had problems sleeping at night as well. We went a few days later to our local drug store and picked up a bottle of 50mg. 5-HTP. We had decided on the lowest dosage available in our area, upping the dosage as we went along if it was necessary. We have only been on it for a few days now but there is a very noticeable difference. We both have been sleeping through the night and feeling more refreshed when we wake. My anxiety attacks are gone as well as my headaches. We both are much less snappish than what we were before. We haven't noticed any side effects so far. We are taking them with a meal or a small snack and so far we have stayed at 50mg. Thanks for the very useful information that lead to this discovery!"
EC: Read more about 5-HTP here.
07/15/2010: Caleb from Humboldt , Ca, Usa replies: "Just make sure you don't take your daily Vitamin with the 5HTP (take the 5HTP with dinner) because the 5HTP will metabolize with your vitamin and go into your blood stream, you want it to go to your brain. It increases the serotonin levels, hence the popularity between 5HTP and users of club drugs such as MDMA or Amphetamines. Thanks for your time, good luck with your headaches. ~ Caleb"
Acid Reflux Meds and Headaches
10/18/2013: Kay from Jax, Fla, Usa: "In February, 2013, I was officially diagnosed with Gerd and I cut back on all foods which could cause this to flare up, but it still did. I was prescribed Omiphozole 40 mg per day. Sometime in June I began to have headaches and dizziness. I did not relate it all to this meds. But as I am thinking back I have not done anything different in meds except for this. I continue to take statin drugs which has never caused this and I take supplements, D3, Calcium, Biotin, and a 81 mg aspirin. Recently I wrote about a friend of mine who had headaches and she also was taking prilosec. We finally put our thoughts together, and started thinking perhaps this Omiphozole or prilosec was the cause of this? For me, I am going to a neuro at the end of this month and have all the mri tests just to be on the safe side. I would hate to find out later I had something really dangerous and blew it off. Has anyone else had these side effects of the headaches and dizziness from the acid reflux meds? What is suggested for reflux? Thanks for your help."Replies
10/18/2013: Sandy From Atlanta from Ga, Usa replies: "Do some web research on proton pump inhibitors like Prilosec and B12 deficency. I took both Prilosec and Omeprazole 40 at different times in the last few years and both times I got dizzy after a few days taking them. I had gastritis from taking NSAIDS but I'm much better so I only take Tagamet occasionally. Coconut milk (in cartons from the dairy case) was a huge help with healing my stomach. Anyway, after starting on B12 my dizziness stopped."
Acupressure Treatment for Headaches
Hitting the right acupressure points can relieve headache pain quickly and lastingly. Try pinching the area between your thumb and forefinger for five minutes. Or hold one thumb against your head directly between the eyes and the other at the base of your skull, just where the spine enters, and count to ten before releasing.
[YEA] 02/01/2010: Elaine from Edmond, Oklahoma: "My aunt taught me this form of accupressure for a headache. I works and feels really good once the pressure is off.
Take one your thumbs and place it just above the nose where it goes into the forhead. Not on the nose, but directly between the eyes of the sufferer. Next, take your other thumb and place at the base of their skull in the back. The soft spot just below where the skull ends at the top of the back of the neck. Apply firm and even pressure for the count of ten. When you reach ten SLOWLY release the pressure to the count of ten. Most people I have performed this on have been amazed at how "delicious" this feels. I use my middle fingers to apply the pressure as this is more comfortable to me."
02/15/2010: Sarah from Briarcliff Manor, Ny replies: "Not only does this work, but it's been enhanced with the use of a device known as the Cryotron, only some dr's have it so far, but it works great!"
[YEA] 07/24/2008: Derek from Fort Worth, Tx: "Acupressure helped cure my severe headaches. I have been having severe headaches for about a week now and was tired of medicating myself with Tylenol, Alleve, etc. I remembered I saw an email passed around that listed natural cures for things. I searched the internet and found this website. Once there, I looked up headaches remedies and found the one that mentions having someone squeeze or put pressure in the space between your thumb and index finger for about 5 minutes. It was late at night so I just did it myself and was amazed that in 5 minutes I was completely pain free. I dont know how and I dont know why it worked, but I'm certainly not complaining! Give it a try. Good Luck!!"Replies
[YEA] 06/15/2011: Nik from Visalia, Ca replies: "this helps because it releases dopamines in your head that is a natural cure for headaches."
11/02/2011: Kelly from San Francisco, Ca replies: "I've found that pressure helps, too, actually in conjunction with hot and cold packs."
[YEA] 06/27/2012: Merrin from Perth, Western Australia replies: "Over the past ten years I have suffered weekly headaches from stress/work/computer usage and used paracetamol, aspirin or codeine regularly. Over the past six weeks I have stopped headaches using acupressure. Pinching the webbing between thumb and index finger works for me."
06/27/2012: Little Wing from Boston, Ma replies: "Great that you posted this, it's a great solution that people think is so weird that it must not work, but actually works well for most headaches."
[YEA] 10/19/2006: Jhon from Defo WI: "When i was little, i used to get a headache every single day, i hated it. my mom didn't want to give my tylenol every day cause it was bad for you, so she used this remedy: If you have a headache or have one coming on, find a person who will squeeze between your thumb and index finger. Do this for about 5 minutes. It is going to hurt but it makes the pain go away"
[YEA] Katie from Chagrin Falls, OH: "I know for a fact a simple way to reduce the pain in headaches is to apply pressure to your temples and rub in a circular motion, it works every time."

- Filtered Water - Large Glass
At the start of any headache, take a tablespoon each of apple cider vinegar and honey and mix them together in a large glass of water. This should prevent the headache, and it can be taken 1-3 times a day as needed.
[YEA] 05/29/2013: Sheila from Charlotte, North Carolina: "I tried your apple cider vinegar remedy for a pms headache and it worked. I took a tablespoon of vinegar in a large glass of water and drank it down slowly. 45 minutes later my headache pain was reduced by 50%. A few hours later I drank another glass and that did the trick. Thank you for this remedy!!"
[YEA] 10/18/2009: Polly from Edmonton, Alberta , Canada: "have only recently strated to get headaches at all -- but yesterday i got a doozie. I have been suffering for two days now and not feeling safe to leave the house as i somewhat dizzy. Came upon this site and look in the fridge for ACV (I know I used to have it -- must have thrown it out as it had been there so long. Anyhow low and behold I had a half a bottle of organic dry apple cider that I purchased on a wine tour on Vancouver Island. I had just opened it this week when I had a friend over for supper. I thought what the hell give it a try - low and behold I feel a significant releaf from the pain. It may not have to be the vinigar varity who knows Thanks!"
[YEA] 08/30/2009: Donna from Coconut Creek, Florida: "I am a 50 year old woman.I had suffered with headaches for most of my life. I used to get a headache almost everyday. I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar cure. I took 1 tablespoon twice a day in about 4 ounces of water.Within a few days the headaches ceased and I have not had a headache since. It is like a miracle. I am also into bodybuilding, and since I started taking the ACV I am getting much better results.ACV has really changed my life."Replies
[NAY] 12/04/2011: Heidi from Seattle, Wa replies: "I originally bought organic Apple Cider Vinegar for my skin because I keep getting cystic acne and there is literally nothing I can do externally to help because they never come to a head (gross I know) so, after using it everyday morning and night, it hasn't helped with anything! And my skin is now very dry and smells like vinegar... Which frankly is disgusting in my opinion. Now, I'm having a terrible headache and looked to earth clinic to find a solution and drank 1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar straight, which is also pretty disgusting... And nothing. I don't understand why I don't see any results from this????"
12/04/2011: Kathy from Smyrna, Georgia, United States replies: "Heidi,
I stumbled on this site and have been using ACV for about a week with EXCELLENT results. Cysts will NOT come to a head, but they should shrink. I semi-soak a cotton ball with ACV and apply it to each cycst for about 20 secs.... Then I get a new cotton ball, add ACV and sorta rub the cysts individually. Basically, the vinegar exfoliates the skin and you'll want to rub off all of the dead stuff. In addition I apply ACV to my entire face as a toner.
It seems that when I rub the cyst it opens up some, may bleed a bit but then IMMEDIATELY heals once the ACV gets inside (only guessing on that one) All I know is I had a cyst growing on my chin on Friday and today (Sunday) it is gone! NEVER have I had such results...
I did purchase Pink Grapefruit Airborne today and I will order Tea Tree oil. I'm hoping all of these options will continue to provide me with healing this crazy skin of mine."
[YEA] 07/24/2009: DarleneCupid from Ontario, CA: "ACV DOES WORK!!!! Earlier this year, I was suffering from awful headaches! I finally went to the doctor to only get prescription medicine.....yuck! I tried the medicine and it only masked the problem....my migranes & headaches came back worse!!!!
I looked for a natural way to help headaches and came across ACV...I figured, "What the heck, why not, I've tried everything else". So, I tried it, and I can say that IT DOES WORK! Since I've been using it, I've only had a headache twice, and very, very mild ones. IT'S A MIRACLE i TELL YOU, TRY IT!
I take 8-12oz of Apple Juice, less than 1/4 of ACV, and less than 1/4 of organic honey. This is truly a gift from God and I thank him for a natural way to keep headaches away. What do you have to lose? =D"
07/24/2009: Gean from Salina, KS replies: "I would like to know exact measurements and how often you take this. Is this 1/4 cup of ACV and honey together with the apple juice? How often do you take it? Thank you very much."
08/05/2010: Darlenecupid from Ontario, Ca replies: "Yes, you take the Apple Juice, ACV and Honey together. Add them together, mix it, then drink it. You will be a firm believer in this, trust me!"
11/10/2010: Sunshine from Joplin, Mo replies: "You give 1/4 as the measurements for the ACV and honey but 1/4 as in tablespoon or what measurement please. I am at the point where I will try just about anything to stop this constant pain. I want to get back to life again. Thank you so much."
12/08/2010: Dag5232 from Greenwood, South Carolina replies: "I would be interested in the dosage of this. I have had headaches for over 15 years and have not yet found anything to help. I've been doing 2 tablespoon vinegar and 2 tablespoon of honey in 8 oz of water, for a couple days and this has not helped me yet. How long does this take to be effective?"
12/08/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa replies: "I think that MOST headaches have to do with your bowels. When the poisons leak out of stopped up bowels, you get headaches. If you get colonics and take enemas and also add to your diet castoria and syrup of figs, then that may help you tremendously. Hope this helps all of you that have headaches. I do not get them because I have always eaten a diet rich in figs, dates, fiber and things that push stool out easily. I also do castor oil packs and I get a colonic about once every 6 months."
06/18/2011: Darlenecupid from Ontario, Ca replies: "1/4 cup for both the honey & ACV."
10/26/2011: Dian from Berrien Center, Mi replies: "I just printed another article on the subject of migraines. In everything I've ever read on the subject of migraine triggers, it always lists "fermented products". Therefore, I am a little hesitant to try the vinegar approach. I have had headaches most of my life, but daily migraines the last 11 years. My son told me about the organic apple vinegar. I'm curious to hear any comments on the discrepancy between vinegar being helpful or a trigger for migraines. Any help or comments are appreciated."
10/26/2011: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "Just try a capful with some honey morning and evening. Some of the headaches with the Aura are Sinus headaches that pressure the optic nerve. It usually starts with a slight vision disturbance then an Aura of jagged lines distrupt the vision, then when this goes the headache comes and is debilitating. These are the symptoms to a greater degree, if you have any of these I'm sure the vinegar and honey will stop them if not staight away, they will lessen to insignificance. Either straight away of over a couple of days."
10/26/2011: Maria from Gippsland, Australia replies: "Hi Dian, Vinegar has never been a trigger for migraine for me and others I personally know, nor have oranges or chocolate. Make sure you are well hydrated and try taking magnesium. I take ACV with the mother most days, about 1 yr now with the odd day or week off. The key for me is magnesium (300mg to 800mg) most days. When I get my warning signals for a migraine I will up the dose of mag. I don't remember when I last had a migraine, probably 2 yrs. Yes I used to have the medication and still end up being taken to the Dr for the injections. All the best."
10/26/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Migraines could also indicate a magnesium deficiency and an iodine deficiency.
Since taking both I have noticed that I rarely get migraines any more and the ones I do get I don't always need to take any pain medication.
I am taking magnesium as Epsom Salts (magnesium sulphate) or magnesium chloride (as flakes in bath water) or sprayed onto the body as magnesium oil."
10/27/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Hi Dian, I used to suffer heavily from migranes. I took heavy medication for many years with little success, nowadays I don't have headaches at all! I started noticing that I got them every month when I stopped taking the pill for 7 days, or if I forgot it for maybe two days. My conclusion was that my migranes were hormonal but I didn't know what to do till I came across a new pill called Cerazette. As one doesn't stop at all the hormones are always on the same level. The doctor let me try it and gone were the headaches, never again did I have one, or hardly..... Nowadays due to the age I don't need the pill anymore but things are ok. I have no idea whether this could be your problem but maybe my information helps other women. It is not good to take the pill, especially if you don't need it for anticonception, which was my case but it was my only solution! Having migranes, suffering like hell and being on heavy medication at least one week a months wasn't a good solution either!"
03/01/2012: Trina from Minneapolis, Mn replies: "@Francisca, if you were suffering from migraines while on birth control, I would suggest getting tested for Factor V Leiden. This is a genetic blood disorder that causes your blood to clot more easily and is worsened by high estrogen levels. Many people in my family have been diagnosed with this, although it often takes a major issue (heart attack, stroke, etc) before someone is tested. I have it and noticed headaches while on birth control, but the headaches subsided when I switched to a brand with lower hormone levels."
[YEA] 07/13/2009: Betsy from New Haven, CT: "I suffer from tension headaches that often turn into migraines if I don't treat them quickly. NSAIDS help but rarely fix the problem entirely, and I didn't like the idea of taking so much medicine - I often would have pain 10 days a month or so.
A friend of mine showed me this site when looking for grey hair remedies, and it quickly became obvious that ACV is a wonder food, so I went to the health food store and bought some raw ACV and started taking it 2x a day (1 tsp in a glass of water each time) before breakfast and dinner. I happened to be getting a headache at the time, and was shocked to find that it immediately subsided. It did start coming back, but again subsided with more ACV.
I continued taking it 2x a day like this (and sometimes some extra if i had a bad headache coming on) for a month or two before realizing that it was taking more and more to help my headaches. Now I don't take it unless I feel a headache coming on, and I am more sensitive again. I have only taken drugs for a headache once in the past few months - when I was on a trip and couldn't bring my ACV!
I know it sounds crazy. I honestly had no illusions that it would fix my headaches - I thought maybe it might help with menstrual cramps, or my Raynaud's syndrome, or give me energy or something. I read all these testimonials and thought, yeah, but they don't have my headaches. Well it did work and I am a convert! Thanks so much!"
[YEA] 05/30/2009: Don and Margaret from Traverse City, MI: "Margaret had to sit down at the hardware store due to a headache. Eating helped for a bit, then it came back and she laid on the couch in tremendous pain. wanting to help, I looked at these comments, and ran to the store to get ACV. I mixed 2 TB with a squirt of lemon jiuce, a dash of honey in warm water. she was an uncooperative patient for 5 minutes or so, then drank it. she them hobbled to the bathroom as she said she thought she was going to be sick. i was not looking forward to the consequences, should that happen. After sitting next to the toilet for 5 minutes, her eyes opened, 5 minutes later she was laughing and said the pain was gone. now she declares it a miracle, is laughing like normal, and wants me to cook dinner! :)"
[YEA] 01/24/2009: Maria from St. Louis, MO: "Wow, I can't believe this worked so well! The ACV helped my ease my severe headache and eye pain. I felt much better in about a half-hour after taking the mix. Works!"
01/23/2009: S. Smith from DeWitt, Michigan: "I have been using ACV for sometime now, along with other things off and on. However, ACV has been my staple for my allergies. Until recently, it has been working. Now, I seem to get headaches that really do not go away. Except when I talk over the count products that take the edge off. Most time my headaches come with weather changes, but sometimes I think it is a food that I ate because the weather is fine. I am allergies to wheat, soy, and corn (and maybe more). Any suggestions on what I can do? Should I drink ACV non-stop? I have been taking more zinc when I think it could be a cold... I just don't know. What do I do?"Replies
01/24/2009: Rosy from Orlando, Fl replies: "Check to see what is in the air. Maybe your headaches are caused by mold, or microwaving food in Styrofoam, Two things that give me headaches. Also look out for hidden aspartame and msg."
08/15/2010: Sam from Granville, Ohio, Usa replies: "S. Smith from Dewitt:
For your allergies: try Ester-C. As this is buffered and should not upset your digestion you should be able to take 3Grams or so. This has beaten my food (corn, wheat, etc) and inhalant allergies. Best of luck. Sam"
