I've never known sex any other way. I feel that because I've been infected since my teenage years I've had the opportunity to grow with my herpes. First thing is that you have to have open communication with your Herpes such as "Okay big H, we're in this together for the long haul...so stop acting a fool on my skin!" This is a good first step to being outbreak free. The second most important thing is to tell people about it (GASP!) your real friends will remain your real friends and offer you support and advice. Plus, you will be the one they turn to if it ever happens to them (imagine if we all had someone to turn to when it happened to us!) I think that guilt and shame only worsen outbreaks. The third and most easy to obtain treatment of herpes is deep breathing. The second I begin to feel the tingling, I meditate and deeply and breathe oxygen to my groin area. It will increase blood flow to the area and stop itching and tingling at once. I also have used olive leaf extract in conjunction with red marine algae with wonderful results. Note: i run marathons and make it my running mantra to deliver oxygen to my groin region and the base of my spine. I never have outbreaks during training season and occasionally get them in winter when I've been indulging over the holidays."

for genital herpes, though, it is not strong enough, but contributes to the healing.
i got rid of my last OB really quickly thanks to a combination of remedies found on this wonderful website :
i put on a cotton swabbed with ACV for a few hours, then 4 min of photo-therapie.
afterwords i applied a mixture of teatree-oil & gelee royale before going to bed.
the next day the herpes was gone, there was only a red spot, on which i applied again teatree-oil & gelee royale.
now i'm taking lecithin and ACV (2 TS in a glass of water, over the day), stayed OB-free when i got my period and throughout a bad cold.

A very cheap bottle of neem oil that I found in a non-chain Asian pharmacy has turned out to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. Most effective in halting outbreaks of Herpes that Tea tree oil has been quite good at too but this was better. Radically improved the condition off all my skin even facial. The bottle said it was 100pc neem oil, I added 2tsp to 100ml liquid shower gel. Add to mouth wash once in a while."

I happened upon this about 4 years ago, I've had herpes now for several years and break out about twice a year or sometimes more, if I am not getting enough sleep.
I was using Oregano oil for something unrelated during the beginning stages of a herpes outbreak. Those who have herpes recognize the pain that comes with the beginning of an outbreak. After taking the oregano oil, the outbreak was very mild and I continued the oregano oil for a few days until the outbreak disappeared altogether.
For the last 4 years or so, this has worked for me every single time I've had an outbreak. I've never had a severe or painful one since, as long as I take oregano oil for about 3 days from the onset of the symptoms.
Amount: I cannot take the taste of oregano oil, so I buy the oil and I fill up an empty capsule and swallow it with water, followed by a glass of water. I usually take one capsule, twice a day for about 3 days. At first I thought it was coincidence, but for me this is tried and true.
I hope this helps others.
I wonder if this would eventually kill the virus by taking it daily for a prolonged period of time?? However, I don't know how healthy it is to take Oregano oil on a daily basis.

08/17/2009: Liz from Boulder, Co replies: "I have just starting taking Oregano oil everyday, so I don't know if it is working yet but I am hoping for the best. I heard about it through my stepfather he lives by the stuff (for everything). My brother also takes if to boost his immune system. He has been taking it everyday for the last 4 years and hasn't gotten sick. Therefore, I think is is safe to take on a daily base. I take 4 drops of it in the morning and 4 drops at night. I also rub it on the base of my spine since that is where the virus lives and the oil will seep in through the skin."

[YEA] 03/10/2008: Terri from Upper Marlboro, USA writes: "I was doing some additional research on a particular brand of Oil of Oregano (as I mainly used another brand) and came across info regarding it's effectiveness to cure Herpes. While I have not used Oil of Oregano for this purpose, it's one of the staple natural remedies I've been using for years. Some of the things I've successfully used it for are: Yeast Infections, Abcesses, intestinal parasites (after eating Pork they usually make themselves known), bleeding gums, itching skin and I'm sure there are many more things it could be used for. Give it a try and see what happens. It's a little pricey for the small bottle but it lasts a long time. It can be used internally and externally. It's very caustic taken in liquid so after a while I got smart and now buy gel capsules and use the dropper to fill it and take it that way. If you try it, please report back your findings so others may benefit.

In "The Cure is in the Cupboard", Dr Cass Ingram's states that "a study done by Sidiqqui determined that the oil completely destroyed herpes viruses, 'disintegrating' them. He states to daily rub the oil vigorously over the spinal column since that is where the virus lives when it is dormant. He states to take 5 or more drops of the oil under the tongue twice daily. Naturally, everyone's immune system is different so no time frame is given; however, one of the testimonials given in the book states that a woman's genital herpes completely disappeared after only 1 month, after having it for several years.

P.S. Make sure the Oil of Oregano you purchase comes from the Mediterranian. This is the only kind that contains the medicinal properties."

I have had herpes for tweny years. It was never a huge problem till two years ago when I came down with a painful outbreak with swollen genital glands, which have continued to this day. No anti-viral or natural remedy has had any effect. I have had continuous outbreaks while on anti-viral medications. I have also been in a state of constant outbreak for the past two months,so painful that I cannot stand it. At first I though BHT was working, but it didn't. I tried a patented brand of colloidal silver that I tried for colds stomach problems ETC and it worked wonderfully. Being in so much pain, I racked my brain for something that would help. I thought of Orajel aka Ambesol, tooth ache gel. IT WORKED GREAT! I have genital herpes. It halts the pain instantly. Any oral pain reliever works. Just apply a dab to the areas in pain. Within seconds the pain is gone. Yes...it wears off after a while, but just re-apply. I also found that helps to keep the area extra clean! Soap & water at least three times a day and the the application of the orajel shortens the outbreak to less than 3 days."

Dear All,
I have been suffering from HSV-2 for nearly a year. Constant outbreaks were driving me made. I have tried Zinc and Acyclovir, with very little success. Then in Sept 07, I read on the an article on the 'Chemical properties, mode of action, and in vivo anti-herpes activities of alignin-carbohydrate complex from Prunella vulgaris. By Yongwen Zhang, Paul Pui-Hay But, Vincent Eng-Choon Ooi, Hong-Xi Xu, Gillian D Delaney, Spencer H S Lee, Song F Lee, Antiviral Res, 75:3:242-9 (Sep 2007)'.
I went to my local Chinese herbalist and bought a 160g of Prunella vulgaris ( self heal) for AUS$4 a bag. I was advised by the Chinese medicine practitioner to divided the bag into 4 by 40grams and to make a tea from each 40g part. I was to boil 5 cups of water down to 3 cups and, and drink. Do this for 4 days. From day 1 this really aided in shorting the severity and length of the outbreak.
I have been making this tea on and off since and I have only had one outbreak since then, Sept., versus what seemed a constant outbreak.
I tried another experiment. I concentrated about 1 cup of Prunella Tea, down to 1 tablespoon and mixed it with an acqua lotion from the local pharmacy. This lotion is frequently used to 'add' other lotions to it. You local pharmacy will have it and it is fairly inexpensive. I paid AUS$12 for 750g jar of it. I mixed roughly the 1 tablespoon of liquid and highly concentrated Prunella vulgaris with ~-7- 10 tablespoons of the cream. I apply it once in the morning and once at night to the infected area. Keep in cool in the fridge. It feels nice when you put it on and does not sting.
My one and only outbreak over the last ~3 months lasted 2 days, without pain or discomfort. The outbreak place is in a crease on my leg, where I get eczema frequently. The added benefit of this cream is that my eczema has also disappeared.
Please note: I am not selling anything nor trying to encourage the sale of a product for self gain. The Prunella vulgaris has definitely made a positive difference to me and is an very inexpensive solution. I am sharing my experience with you, for your own information.
I have researched Prunella vulgaris (aka Self Heal) a fair bit and have not seen any evidence, either medical or private that states there is any risks to taking Prunella vulgaris as an oral or topical. If you should find an article, please advise."

Prunella Vulgaris is also known as all-heal, heal all, woundwort, self heal. Althought this sounds far-fetched, I wouldn't be surprised if this works and has been hidden from the public. I have not tried this yet but I intend too at some time in the future, followed by a blood test.
Since taking Lysine supplements and eating more veg I have not had any problems with outbreaks unless my immune system is weak. If I am sick for some reason and my immune system is occupied, then I get outbreaks almost every time."

I do believe there is actually a cure out there because all things are possible. I am looking for a cure not a outback treatment. The doctor says it is a life time disease but I don't believe such a thing. 1) Is there someone that has actually re-tested with negative result? 2) What was you cure regiment? 3) How long did it take you to rid yourself from the disease? I understand that diet, exercise, and herbs, low stress, spiritual balance will help in immune system health. I have heard of people being cured AIDS, so I know herpes can be cure. I have experienced a day or 2 rest for a 5 month long continuous outbreaks and I was so desperate and looked everywhere for relief, remedy and cure. I have tried a lot of suggested medicines, home remedies etc., that was listed in this very helpul site. But as weeks go by, I have discovered a herbal drink from Philippines that was a very big help to this disease. For your info, I have a very weak immune system and I think if someone with a normal or much stronger immune system than mine, I guess taking this drink would be more effective. I saw the changes and progress of my immune system after i drank the first 2 sachets. It's called _____, it's quite known now in the Philippines, for it has cured a lot of sickness and diseases, and as for my HSV-2... i don't know if it has cured me, but it did gave me hope and still think strong of my future. I have a friend who sells this in Thailand, and in Manila.
To support more for my body's defenses, I drink 2 cups of GreenTea everyday, as this is equivalent to 8 apples, which has more vitamin C than citrus. I take Centrum, 1000mgs VitC, 400IU VitE.. yeah! it's not hard, it's just that my immune system is very weak so I just have to find more support. Of course, nothing is possible without the help of God, a prayer full of faith.

Since L-lysine 2 grams with 2 grams Vitamin C 4 times per day (suggest mealtime & bedtime) works to rid one of HSV-l, it should work on HSV-2 also. That is what I would be trying first off for any viral infection because I know it works on chicken pox (therefore should work for shingles or Herpes Zoster), mononucleosis (kissing fever) and several other viruses as well."

I believed the doctors when they told me there was no cure, I took their drugs and didn't ask questions. That is until I became fed up with having an outbreak every month. I started researching, getting the facts and the truth about this virus. Through my research I came across Red Marine Algae. All I can tell you is that I stopped taking Valtrex, (which actually made me feel more sick and sluggish) and started taking RMA. At the first sign of an outbreak, I took 4 pills daily on an empty stomach with plenty of water and continued this for 60 days, even after the outbreak was gone. The first time I tried RMA I was happy with how quickly I healed and the outbreak was less severe than the outbreaks I had on Valtrex. I only had one more outbreak and did the same thing...took the pills (which you're supposed to take for at least two months after your intial sign of an outbreak to help wipe it out). Since then I haven't had an outbreak. I have been outbreak free for two years and two months! Along with that I also changed my eating habits, eliminating soda, fast food, processed sugars and flours, trans-fats, high-fructose corn syrup and beef. Exercise also helps, even if it is just walking 20 minutes a day. All I have to say is that RMA has worked for me and I have tried a lot of things. For the first year I took Valtrex and suffered every month, the past two and a half years I tried RMA twice and have seen incredible results. I've had outbreaks for 10 years now of GH. I swear by Rubbing Alcohol topically. At the first sign of a funny feeling I grab a cotton ball soak it in Rubbing Alcohol 91% and swipe both labia.
GH likes warm and moist. It doesn't like cool and dry - the rubbing alcohol creates an inhospitable environment. I also use it during an outbreak to dry up the lesions quicker. It hurts when there is a sore but I've found lightly spanking my leg helps me distract until the burning is gone and the treatment helps speed recovery by quite a bit.
Use as many times a day as needed - also very discrete as rubbing alcohol can be used for lots of household things."

Recently on one of the sites I read about how a guy tried rubbing alcohol and put it on his genitals and it stung quite a bit for a short period of time but supressed his herpes. Well I was desperate and so I decided to try the same thing. I am female so I knew it would have to hurt a bit but the discomfort I was feeling every day could not be any worse then a bit of stinging from rubbing alcohol. I put some in my hand and then rubbed it on my genitals. It burned for about 30 seconds and then instant relief!!! I continued to use it twice a day for two weeks and each time the burning sensation was less and less. My herpes was supressed almost immediately and now i use the rubbing alcohol once a day in the am. I have no signs of herpes and feel great. I continue to use it even though i have no symptoms and recommend it to everyone. When i use it now it does not bother me one bit. It is only in the beginning that you get a bit of stinging but was well worth it because now i have no signs of the herpes virus. Also before I had to be careful of what I ate. I could not eat chocolate or i would have an outbreak. Now i can eat chocolate and peas and anything else and I don't have an outbreak!!! I feel this is a real cure or great supression for the virus. I hope others will try this therapy as it works."

According to Dr Hulda Reghr Clark rubbing alcohol , which is propyl alcohol, together with an intestinal fluke called fasciolopsis buskii, are two factors invariably implicated in cancer cases. Stabilized Oxygen and an extract of garlic called allicin (available for both internal and external use), among other natural remedies, would be be preferable. 'First of all do no harm'!"

1. Do you think using rubbing alcohol to fight herpes is a good idea or do you feel that it is a harmful chemical for the body?
2. I have continuous breakouts...FOR YEARS. I mean I pretty much NEVER go without some sign of a break out (Genital herpes...and it breaks out only on my lower back and buttocks region). This is driving me crazy. Do you feel that I cannot use honey or black strap molasses for remedies. Also, when a new breakout occurs, it screws up my digestive system and causes me to have constipation.
3. Also, recently, I have been having a burning feeling in my right breast and under my rib case. Do I need a liver gall bladder cleanse? I eat quite well--lots of salads, fruits, veggies, no processed foods (however, up until a couple of years ago, I ate lots of ice cream and some other sweets--even though it made me break out.) I can't eat nuts--that really aggravates a break out--especially if combined with chocolate. I haven't been eating any sweets now--except for a little honey (up to 1 TBSP) and a little Black Strap Molasses (1-2 TBSP). It seems like if I eat the black strap molasses, I break out--which makes me mad because I like the energy from BSM and honey. I am so sick of this! I was diagnosed with this in 1998, but had a lot of nerve pain on since 1980 (primarily on one side of my body). One thing I will say is that I have less pain and flu symptoms, especially since taking the ACV.
So again, my questions are: 1. Rubbing Alcohol--good or bad? 2. Honey and BSM? 3. The burning in my right breast plate/rib area.

[YEA] 06/09/2008: Anonymous replies: "I found out about Stabilized Liquid Oxygen and DMSO and used both whenever I felt an outbreak coming on. I used to have between 2 and 4 outbreaks a year. I have not had a single outbreak in 2 years. They stopped after using the S.L.O. and DMSO, only when I felt an outbreak coming on, for approximately a year. I really couldn't believe it. I kept waiting for another outbreak thinking I just hadn't been stressed enough to trigger one, but 2 years later, nothing, and I've definitely had some serious, nervous breakdown, kind of stress during that period. If you can afford to pay for that prescription every month, giving this a shot is nothing. I don't know how it will work for others, but I wish everyone great success with it.
