Degenerative Disc Disease Treatment

Last Modified on Mar 04, 2014

What Is Degenerative Disc Disease?

Generally considered a disease of aging, degenerative disc disease is an age related condition. The spine is constantly subjected to stress and periodically, minor injury. These stresses combined begin to compound and cause damage over time. This gradual proliferation of damage or normal changes in the spinal discs is known as degenerative disc disease. For most individuals, the degeneration of discs causes little problem or concern; however, some individuals experience severe pain in conjunction with the condition.

The symptoms associated with degenerative disc disease vary depending on the intensity of the condition. The symptoms may result in back or neck pain in some while it causes no pain in others. One of the most common symptoms reported, when any are experienced, is sciatica, or pain that radiates from the low back into the buttocks and upper thighs. In addition to this pain, some individuals may experience tingling or numbness in the legs and feet.

The intervertebral discs or spinal discs are the padding or cushion between each vertebra of the spine. By comparison, these discs are somewhat like “shock absorbers” that cushion the spine as it moves and bears weight. As the body ages, these cushions break down, causing degenerative disc disease. Common causes that contribute to this breakdown include loss of fluid and tears and cracks in the disc. Injury, obesity, heavy physical work and smoking add to the degeneration of discs.

Degenerative Disc Disease Treatment

While degenerative disc disease is a common part of aging, certain measures can be taken to prevent degeneration and reverse the current levels of degeneration. One effective natural degenerative disc disease treatment includes 500 mg of Hyaluronic acid powder, 9 grams of sea salt, and 500 cc of water emulsified and taken daily. This mixture works to restore the cartilage in the discs. Additional options include vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium – all which support bone and joint health. A healthy lifestyle complete with regular exercise and light weight bearing exercise helps maintain bone and muscle health and serves as a supplement to degenerative disc disease treatment.

07/13/2012: Nitin from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India: "Hello, myself NITIN, First of all thanks for sharing such wonderfull information, pls help me out with my query-:

I have degenerative disc disease, and I am taking TED's REMEDY(500mg HA 9gm sea salt 500ml water).

"I want to ask that this solution is TOO SALTY so will there be any side effects of taking this solution for a long time(2-3months approx)."

and "for how long I have to continue this remedy to fully restore my degeneration?"

MY L4/L5-9mm (present state), 15mm is normal....

PLS HELP ME OUT!! thanks"

03/12/2013: Duncan from Phoenix, Arizona replies: "Hyaluronic Acid won't emulsify

I was excited to get my H/A powder. I followed the instructions from "Ted's Remedy". It immediately formed this clear, gelatinous globule at the bottom of the bottle. I shook it repeatedly throughout the day and got it mostly dissolved, only to wake up and find that it had settled overnight in to the globule again:(

I shook it vigorously again and dissolved it most of the way and drank a dose this morning.

The only thing I can think of is that I put the dry ingredients in the bottle first, then added cold water. I can't see how it could make a difference if I put the water in first?

Any advice? I'm really hopeful that this formula will help!"

03/13/2013: Andrea C from Cardiff, Wales replies: "Water First!! And the 'Glouble' is the HA gelling, so that's okay. Other than that, just do as you're doing, when you see the gel bloob, shake till it mixes as per usual. Love Andrea C XXXX.

PS, I shook mine per Ted's remedy, following it to a tee. It's no good reading half a remedy but being gung ho about the rest."

03/13/2013: Duncan from Phoenix, Arizona replies: "Thanks Andrea!

Can anyone tell me where to find Ted's original post on this? All I can find is this comment thread. I've been poking around the website, but can't find it."

10/18/2010: Dano from Williston, Ohio: "Hi, read about your solution for degenerative disc disease, how do I measure out 500 mg of HA powder........1/4 tspn or what?..... Please give me an idea of approximately howmuch to use. Thanks, Dano"

10/19/2010: Lisa from Lafayette, La replies: "Dano, it depends on which brand you are using, and if it is just HA, or has something like msm mixed into it, which would make your measurement different than if just HA. Purebulk, the brand I use, is, I believe, 3.56 grams (3560 mg) per 2 teaspoons. So, I break that down into approx. 1/7 of that dose, or 1/3 teaspoon. It's a little more (593 mg. ), but it doesn't make any difference, it's close enough. Be VERY sure you dissolve it in fridge temp. Water, NOT room temp water."

11/21/2013: Kshitij from Kampala, Uganda: "Looking for treatment and management of degeneration of disc condition."

11/21/2013: Mike 62 from Denver, Colorado replies: "Kshitij: The dosages and ratios of vitamins a, d, and k2 hold an important part of the answer. Most vitamins act as co-factors to protein function. Vitamins a and d regulate the activity of genes to produce proteins. K2 activates these proteins to bind calcium for bone remineralization. All foods are very low in d. Blacks get 6 times less d from sunlight as whites. 5000 units of d3 and 30, 000 units of a costs 5 cents. Humic/fulvic acids, xeronines, and k2 are in raw organic and grassfed foods. Eat as much of these as you can. K1 can be converted into k2 when digestion is good. K1 is in organic spices like parsely, basil, sage, and thyme. To improve digestion make home made live ferments. Make green smoothies from organic baby leaves. They contain growth factors not in mature leaves. Eat raw organic whole dried cane sugar for carbs."
11/21/2013: Prioris from Fl replies: "Look up Herniated Disc and Degerative Disc Disease under ailments where it talks about Hyaluronic Acid. You need a highly absorb-able Hyaluronic Acid, e.g., Biocell."

07/24/2012: Haveittodayray from Las Vegas, Nevada, United States: "New to the forum, I am 69 years old and have recently been diagnosed with:

Severe degenerative disc disease and impingement of tendons. Doctors have giving me Rx for pain, ie, Hydrocodone-Acet aminophen, Etodlolac, and Gabapentin. Had both xrays and Mri. Has anyone had any experience with these drugs. Any suggestions? Have pain on both hips, back, and shoots down both legs and knee caps.

Will I be in a wheel chair soon? Currently, still working 4 hours per day, lifting 10-50 lbs at all times. Should I quit work immediately? Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks, haveittodayray"

01/20/2013: Octavia from Birmingham, Alabama replies: "Hi my mother has DDD and she is not in a wheelchair yet. It has been ten years since diagnosis. She does not work. I don't think you should quit if you can help it because it can get very depressing staying home. But try not to lift much anymore. Take care and I hope this helps."
01/21/2013: Steve from Las Vegas, Nevada replies: "Many people have had success using bio-north magnets on the area of concern, bio-mag science carries them as well as other places."

09/17/2009: Philip from Dearing, Ga: "Degenerative disc disease - New Thread

My mother suffers from Degenerative disc disease and had surgery almost two years ago. One of her bones in her back will not fuse back together. Any ideas from the people out there that can treat this disease and also what can be done to get bones to FUSE back together. Information would be greatly appreciated."

09/18/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "For Phillip from Dearing: Have you searched EC for arthritis, osteoporosis, joint pain, etc. This has been addressed several times.

A question: Is your mother on Fosamax or similar medicine to prevent bone loss? If so, you should be aware that some of them are connected to TMJ &/or lower jawbone necrosis (death of bone).

For bone health first off think cod liver oil, Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, and healthy eating."
09/18/2009: Philip from Dearing, Ga replies: "Thank you Joyce. No my mother is not on any medication that I am aware of, with the exception of high blood pressure med.She has taken all kinds of vitamins all of her life. So many in fact, we often thought she may be taking to many.

Recently reading here on EC, I have learned from Ted. If a persons PH is not balanced they will not absorb the vitamins and minerals properly. So maybe taking all those vitamins all those years were useless.

But yes, she has taken the ones you have mentioned. She never really did healthy eating though. Alot of YO-YO dieting. She is also allergic to milk and eggs and never consumed either of these that I can ever remember.

I never knew the importance of the PH balancing for the absorption vitamins. I think we all should stress the importance of this or else people are wasting thier time and money on the vitamins.

I never thought the surgery was a good idea, but she was convinced by my sister who is a nurse and pro doctor everything. I have a great chiropractor in my area, that has been able to keep many people from going under the knife. Although you have to keep going, you are able to avoid the knife.

Thank you."

09/19/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn. replies: "Hello Phillip, You didn't mention your mother's age, but a decrease of hydrochloric acid production needed to digest the foods eaten, can also contribute to poor absorption of nutrients, and a yo-yo or nutrient deficient junk food diet probably also contributes to decrease in productionof HCL in the stomach.

Iodine is said to be necessary for stimulating the stomach to produce HCL. SSKI or Lugol's solution at level of 2 drops in glass of water daily should be sufficient. She can self test for iodine deficiency by painting a 1" area of tincture of iodine on hidden spot (like abdomen or inner thigh) and let it dry before covering. It if disappears in a short time, then her body is so hungry for iodine that it slurped it right in and then she should take 4 drops SSKI or Lugol's per day until health improved."
09/02/2011: Jennifer from Mooreland, Indiana replies: "Please tell me what MSM is."

11/18/2011: Clean Air from Los Angeles, California: "Hi Ted, This site is wonderful, as are the folks who participate. Thank you so much!

You said the treatment for Degenerative Disc Disease is as follows:

"500 mg of Hyaluronic acid powder (sodium hyaluronate) plus 9 grams of sea salt in 500 cc of water. Store in refrigerator when not in used. " I'm confused on a few things and thanks ahead of time.

Here are my questions:

1. How much HA do I order from the purebulk website? Is 500 mg of Hyaluronic acid enough to last the entire two weeks, longer perhaps?

2. For bone AND cartilage restoration, what would the amount of time be for restoration? Maintenance?

3. Do I continue this indefinitely and then go on a maintenance dosage?

Thanks for all the feedback.

Clean Air"

11/25/2011: Tony from Feltham, Middlesex replies: "Many thanks for this wonderful article. Following surgery 1994 laminectomy/discectomy L5/S1 level my latest MRI shows degenerative disc disease. I'm going to try the HA formula. The only thing confusing me is the vitamin C. I take a buffered vitamin C with magnesium and calcium. Should I stop using the vitamin C when taking HA? Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thank you"
12/21/2011: Steve from New York, New York replies: "For Ted or anyone that can help!!!! I had l4, l5 micro discectomy and been in pain ever since. How should I take the hyaluronic acid and will it heal my discs ? Please help Ted!!!!"
04/03/2013: Sarah from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "Does anyone know if this would work to rebuild cartilage in the trachea? I am trying to come up with ways to help my dog's collapsing trachea, which vets say is permanent. But I think that if the issue is weak cartilage in trachea, why wouldn't strengthening cartilage help the problem? Thnx!!"

[YEA]  09/01/2011: Ada from Atlanta, Ga: "A million thank yous Ted for the Degenerative Disc remedy recipe with Hyaluronic acid, sea salt and water. Today was the first day in about a month that I was able to sneeze and not feel pain in my lower back. I became determined to find something that could help me overcome extreme pain in my lower back and referred pain in my left thigh that would often throb, after I had a bit of a breakdown when I came to grips that my few options included pain killers for the rest of my life, back surgery and/or the possibility of walking with a cane. I recently turned 31 and I was devastated.

Before I tried your remedy, I could not walk at full stride - I could only walk slowly and every step was painfull. I couldn't sit for a lengthy period of time before my back would begin to hurt. I could not stand for a long time without my left leg feeling like it was about to become disjointed at my waist. Reaching was impossible. I could not manage a full night's sleep and most nights I had to sleep on the floor because my bed, although quite firm, couldn't support my condition well.

I found your recipe and made my first batch August 25th. Within the first few days, I could feel that the pain was slightly less, only barely noticeable. As the days passed, I could feel that the pain was still slightly decreasing. Because I had lived with the pain for some time, I didn't know what kind of benchmark I could use to really give a green light that it was working. Today is the seventh day that I've been taking the remedy - mind you, although I'd prefer to take it as recommended, I have not been able to take it 3 times a day and a few days, I only took it once. Instead of having to brace myself for the pain I knew I would feel, I was able to sneeze without discomfort today. I am highly encouraged by my results and look forward to a full recovery. To think, a week ago, I was in tears because I was looking at a grim future. Now, I'm looking forward to being able to exercise and stretch again. I can already walk with a full stride and I can reach without straining too much. I still feel some pain when I've stressed my back or leg too far but I know it will soon subside for good. Thank you very much for sharing this remedy. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me."

[YEA]  04/18/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand: "... Hyaluronic acid, yes I buy them from purebulk. The only particular brand I like is not the brand itself but for those formulations used for horses, which is proven to work. Hyaluronic acid is way better then the popular Glucosamine sulfate. It is a miracle supplement against back pain caused by degenerative spinal column.

My formula that works is as follows: 500 mg of Hyaluronic acid powder (sodium hyaluronate) plus 9 grams of sea salt in 500 cc of water. Store in refrigerator when not in used. The formula advocated by the (purebulk) will not work as it degrades Hyaluronic acid since vitamin C will obviously degrade them. They do get more stable if EDTA is added in small amounts as free metal irons tend to degrade them. The dose is about 8 caps three times a day empty stomach. It takes about 2 weeks to completely remove all back pain and the joint affected area in extremities may take a little longer. I have a couple of cases with severe spinal degeneration of cartilage and gets fully restored upon taking of HA. What the HA does is very simple. It is a major component of synovial fluid - spinal fluids. It is also found in your skull that acts as a shock absorber. So if the movie Rocky got decomissioned from boxing, the HA will restore the brain concussion and helps boxers against brain damage as HA will act as shock absorber between the brain and the skull.

As for the severe cartilage degeneration, the cause is simple: your cartilage works like a hydraulic system. The HA (Hyaluronic acid) is the hydraulic fluids which fills up the spinal column. The addition of HA fills up the deflated tire of your cartilage, thus restoring the the flattened cartilage. HA is one of the fluids that is also used by cells, but the obvious application is for back pain.

As mentioned, all people that I know of do not need to do spinal surgery caused by damage of the cartilage and can get it fully restored with just HA in a matter of 2 weeks and all pain is gone. However, a back pain may also be caused by muscle stiffness due to lack of magnesium as well as arthritis, which MSM does well in eliminating the arthritic neck pain and back pain. It takes about 1 week to reduce the severity of arthritic back pain by 50% in about 1-2 week. Further reduction is possible.

I have a man who is chairman who owns oil spill up technology was involved with motorcycle accident and had brain concussion. Taking HA larger dose such as 12 capful three times a day reduced his concussion pain within a matter of 30 minutes, with complete recovery from the concussion pain within the week. As for HA's effect as an anti-aging supplement, it might help restoring some wrinkles, but the best way to do this, for both men and women (we're talking about people who are 40 or over) is the progesterone cream, used only twice a week at 1/8 teaspoon, mixed with a small amount of HA. This will reduce the aging skin from both HA & Progesterone.

The basics of HA is simple: it hydrates the body's system. It also acts as a lubricant along the lungs to reduce asthma. When the lungs dries up, you get asthma and the HA lubricates the cellular tissues in the organ, thus restoring the lung's breathing capacity. Of course you still need to rid of fungus which causes asthma. As for the person with a severe neck arthritis, for 20 years, went 50% away within 1 week and completely away in about 3 weeks using MSM 2000 mg x 5 times a day plus B1 thiamine 200 to 400 mg a day (for numbness of extremities).

So James Coburn, the actor who mentioned about curing arthritis with MSM was correct in MSM curing the arthritis. The problem was dose/frequency issue that I have to find out, as well as compare its effectiveness against other arthritis supplements out there. As it turns out, MSM is the best supplement for arthritis, but not HA, which is more ideally suited for joint pain and spinal degeneration, even to the point that the person even WON'T NEED BACK SURGERY. The cartilage actually regenerates itself. So when people speak of hydration consider HA."

EC: Per Phil from Dearing, Georgia's request, Ted's above post has been copied from a thread on our Supplement Favorites page.

08/29/2010: Sam from Willis, Michigan replies: "Ted I need to confirm about taking HA everyday until the cartliage is cured. The dose is about 8 caps three times a day empty stomach. It takes about 2 weeks to completely remove all back pain and the joint affected area in extremities may take a little longer. Thank you, Sam"
09/01/2010: Jasonmchicago from Chicago, Il Usa replies: "Dear Ted, Can you help explain the different uses for HA vs. MSM. One's for degenerative disc disease, the other for arthritis... But not sure what the difference is in layperson's terms. Can you help with this? Thanks-a-million! Jason M Chicago"
09/13/2010: Lynette from Houston, Tx replies: "Post on degenerative disc disease - mention "8 caps per day". Is this typo error and should read "8 cups" or some other measurement? thanks for your consideration"
[YEA]  09/14/2010: Lisa from Lafayette, La replies: "Lynette, not 8 cups, 8 CAPS. The reference to caps means the cap on the top of a typical water bottle. Altogether, it measures approx a shotglass full, maybe a little less. Measure the first time, mark your glass, then you won't have to measure it every time. I use a little plastic cup for that.

Quick update; my hubby has been taking Ted's recipe for the HA, 500 mg. Powder in 16 oz. Water, with 9 grams sea salt (approx 1 1/2 teas. Salt). His back is improving in a shocking manner (to him, at least), he is able to move like he hasn't moved in years! He used to be in karate as a teen, and can kick his leg straight up in front of him, (Whoo! I had to duck, didn't see THAT one coming! ), and his knee is steadily on the mend. That's all in less than 2 weeks.

Put your water in the fridge for about 4 hours, get it to 39 degrees or so. Add powder and salt and shake. Powder won't dissolve right away. Put back in fridge. Shake every 2-4 hours. In about 12-18 hours, the powder will be all dissolved, and water will have a slight thickening to it. This gives approx 10 doses. At dose 7 or so, around 2 1/2 days, start another bottle in the above manner so you won't miss a dose. I figured out that this method gives you roughly 150 mg. HA per day. After this 3 week regimen, use 12 oz water (open new 16.9 oz water bottle, pour out little over 1/4 cup, this leaves you 12 oz). Add 3000 mg. Ascorbic acid (vit c powder) BEFORE refrigerating. Shake well. Refrigerate 4 hours till 39 degrees or so. Put in approx 2 grams HA (2000 mg. Powder), and close lid. Shake, same as method described above. In 12-18 hours, it should be ready. This formula is much thicker. 1 Tablespoon dose will be 75 mg. Do morning & nite, on empty tummy. Also pour tiny bit in your hand, to rub on your face, neck and hands. AWESOME serum for the skin. DO NOT put your hands or mouth on this bottle, to keep from contaminating ingredients.

Side note: Vit C in body acts with any iron running around in there to break down the HA, which is not good. Take a quercetin tablet (bioflavinoid) to prevent this, and get OPTIMAL results from your HA. Sorry for long post, I've done so much research on this I talk about HA in my sleep. Good luck. I am not a doctor or nutritionist, just an interested by-stander. Do your own research and see your physician before taking anyone's advise!"

09/15/2010: Lisa from Lafayette, La replies: "CORRECTION TO ABOVE POST! Sorry, when I said pour out 1/4 cup to arrive at 12 oz from your water bottle, I should have said 1/2 cup (4 oz) Thanks!"
09/15/2010: Peter from Chicago, Il replies: "To : Lisa from Lafayette

Is half hour before meal or one hour after meal fit the definition of empty stomach ?"

09/15/2010: Lisa from Lafayette, La replies: "Peter, that sounds fine to me. We usually take our morning dose right before breakfast (maybe 15-30 min) and the evening dose right before bed (we eat kind of late). My husband takes his mid day dose a couple hours after lunch, but I'm sure one hour after food would be fine. Good luck! By the way, my mom has been on it for 1 week, Purebulk's thicker recipe, 150 mg. Daily, and she said she can mow her back AND front yard now without getting tired at all. Before, she had to take a nap right after mowing (she's 76! ). She also said an excruciating knee problem has been cut down to 1/2, and is getting better daily. Did I tell you I get my HA powder from Ted's source, Purebulk? It's cheap, the molecular weight is medium (you simply can't find any low molecular weight HA in powder form ANYWHERE! ) and it's pure. So easy to use. Our first bottles, though, we used an HA powdered capsule that I just opened up and dumped into the bottle (10 of them at 50 mg. Each). More expensive that way."
09/15/2010: Janice from Coloma, Mi replies: "Lisa, I'm not sure I follow this. You said that Vit C in body acts with any iron running around in there to break down the HA, which is not good but there is Vit C in the mixture."
09/16/2010: Lisa from Lafayette, La replies: "Right, there is vit. C in the mixture, to act as a preservative. It is a small amount, equaling about 250 mg. Per dose. This dosing info is from Purebulk website, where they tell how to mix it. Go to the site, pull up "hyaluronic Acid" and just read their info. On there. Very enlightening, indeed. But according to the Dr. Who wrote "How to live 100 years without Growing" , Vit. C in the body reacts with any unbound iron that may be in the body to break down HA by becoming a "pro" oxidant, vs. The antioxidant we all understand Vit. C to be. He confirmed (in an email to me) that taking bioflavinoids like Quercetin (which is an iron-binder) will keep this from happening, thus allowing you to reap the benefits of HA AND vit. C at the same time. That's what his book teaches, anyway. And I emailed him to ask him again just to be sure. Just read the book for yourself to glean your own info and understanding of what he explains. The info I gave was what I took away from the book, though, and I have added quercetin to my own supplement regimen. Don't take my word for it, read for yourself, it's always good to come to your own conclusions. For the Dr's website who wrote "... Live 100 Years... ", type in keywords Bill Sardi, and you will find ample info on him and his books. Fascinating guy."
10/21/2010: Jb from Syracuse, Ny replies: "So, about the Vitamin C and HA... Does that mean I should stop taking a vitamin c supplement while I'm taking the HA? And is HA something you continue to take your whole life? I'm just looking to get some relief from the degenerative disk in my neck."
07/02/2012: Nitin from Agra, Uttar Pradesh replies: "HELLO SIR, please help me out by telling "how to measure 500mg", as by reading ur post about DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE. I ordered HA from pls help me out in measuring 500mg of this acid- waiting eagerly for reply. Thanks regards!!"

04/13/2013: Robyn from Melbourne, Australia: "Dear Ted, I see your posts about degenerated discs being caused by a bacteria. My viral count is huge! 5 months after starting an antibiotic program there has been some improvement in pain although I still can't move my neck and my upper back is still locked. Is this the only cause? I have very flat feet, took 45 yrs to find which caused a very kyphotic posture, head way forward, too heavy for my neck and discs I would imagine, crushing them I would think, then I've had 3 bad whiplashes. Can bacteria be the only reason? I see you have asked for feedback re: fibromyalgia. Lysine, clove oil, acv, in fact nothing on here has eased it. The ex don't help. In fact, if I put my neck back (very hard to wash, brush my hair) I go into a coma, usually black out at the least."

07/12/2013: Robyn from Melbourne, Australia replies: "It seems after 20 yrs of fms, cfs and mcs and so allergic I'm living in a car my discs have further degenerated. It's the whole spine, nerves are pinched at the c4/5, c5/6 and lots of arthritis. I do have osteoporosis and asthma. But it doesn't seem I'm acidic. Blood and tissues are alkaline. I eat more alkaline than acidic, have lemon juice 1st up in the morning etc. I eat lots of vit K, mg. The only thing that has reduced the pain was antibiotics. I'm still wondering about the infections but I've also had 3 whiplashes and the terrible posture from very big flat feet."

02/09/2013: Ceann from Manchester , Ia: "Please help! My 16 year old had her 3rd disc rupture and 2nd back surgery in 3 years. She is still not pain free and doctor said she won't be due to ddd. Her incision is still oozing 2.5 months after surgery. I will start her on the hyluronic acid and salt, but what else for the muscle pain??"

02/10/2013: Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa replies: "Vitamin K, Vit D plus Calcium for strong bones. A warm soaked Epsom Salt wash towel over the affected area 2x daily will help."
02/10/2013: Ladybug from Sacramento, Ca replies: "My first thought was Magnesium for her muscle pain. Perhaps nice, long soaks in the tub with Epsom Salts? (1-2 cups dissolved in the bath water.)

It may even benefit the healing of the incision."

02/10/2013: Jholl from Louisville, Kentucky replies: "Most of us have a magnesium deficiency. Please read Dr. Sircus about transdermal magnesium. I have found it very helpful for arthritis. I do not think you should apply it on the wound. But elsewhere would be good. It will absorb and help heal. The product is called magnesium oil. It is not actually an "oil" but does share some characteristics of an oil. It absorbs in a few minutes. Like most all supplements, patience helps as defiencies are not corrected overnight."
02/10/2013: Franky from Beirut, Lebanon replies: "Magnesium oil is a must but not enough for degenerative disc disease. You also need vitamin d, and bioavailable calcium through food like almonds, sesame seeds, dark greens, organic whey protein from 100% concentrate.

You need boron also. Spray a borax solution mixed with water on the degenerated area. (half a tea spoon with half a liter of water sprayed on the area twice a day)

you need to eat food high in phosphorous.

you need to massgae a mixture of clove oil 10% and castor oil 30% and extra virgin coconut oil 60%. This works like a charm, but needs time in such situations. You also need to elliminate foods like wheat sugar fried food and junk food and grains, to stop fueling the underlying undiagnosed hidden body condition or major multiple malnutritions, that are causing your disc to degenerate. This is most vital to success and better than treating the symproms on site, to ensure future body harmony.

you can email me for questions."

[YEA]  02/03/2013: Ashley from Middletown, Pa: "I just want to say thank you SO so much to Ted for posting this remedy and to Lisa from Lafeyette for sharing her story and giving additional instructions regarding the remedy.

I have been suffering from back pain since I was 17 yrs. Old. I'm 29 now. I've always had my back "go out" on me and be laid up in bed for a few weeks and then be able to start hobbling around again. Living in constant pain or fear of pain is a horrible exsistance though. This past Sept. (2011) my back finally gave up on me. I lost the use of both legs and was in the most excruicating pain of my entire life. I was unable to care for my 2yr. Old and was on horrible prescription drugs for months. I was constantly in a fog of pain and exhaustion (brought on by the drugs). I tried physical therapy and that helped but I had to stay on the meds.

I had an MRI done and my doctor told me I have severe degeneration in my discs, spinal arthritis all along my spine, and my L4 & L5 are bulging. The rest of my lumbar discs are also trying to bulge and have little to no fluid left to cushion them. I was so devastated.

After several months of trying to do things the "medical" way I decided to search for a natural remedy on my own. I can't tell you how elated I am that I found this site and the recipe for Ted's hyaluronic acid. I decided to give it a try.

I have been using this remedy now for maybe 2 1/2 weeks and I am almost 100% pain free. I went off my meds on day two so I could feel how much the hyaluronic was working, except that it relieved almost all of my pain after only 3 doses!!! It's so incredible to feel this pain free. My entire body feels so much better. I started taking a vegetarian glucosamine and MSM supplement as well after about a week and a half and I've only seen improvement. I am still taking the hyaluronic 3 times a day because my spine has been under so much stress for so many years and I just feel better when I take it 3 times.

There is so much more that I want to say and share about where this site and this remedy has led me; how I can feel so much about my body that I never knew I was missing. I feel incredible now that I'm giving myself what I need to not just survive but thrive! I don't want to make this post too long that no one will read it though. :P

Overall I just can't thank you enough Ted, Earth Clinc and this community. The combination of hyaluronic acid and physical therapy is helping me to live life again, pain free. I've started to lose weight as well now that my body isn't so clouded with prescription medications. I know that will only help my spine to heal as well. Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart thank you!

[YEA]  01/20/2013: Art from Tustin, Ca replies: "In reply to Ed, yes I tried it and it was very helpful and reasonably priced, however I got tired of mixing it regularly and switched to a hyaluronic acid supplement that contains the following:

Serving Size: 1 vcap
Servings per Container: 120
Sodium (from Sodium Hyaluronate) 10mg
Hyaluronic Acid (from Sodium Hyaluronate) - 100mg
L-Proline - 100mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid -50mg
Grape Seed Extract (Vitis vinifera) (Standardized to min. 90% Total Polyphenols) - 25mg

I started out at three of these per day and have reduced to two per day with results that seem to be as good as, or possibly better than Ted's remedy mix. It is hard to say for certain if it is better than Ted's remedy because, had I stayed on Ted's remedy, I may have continued to improve also.

In any case, I am glad I tried Ted's remedy because it convinced me that HA works. I was already taking a supplement with HA in it, but it was too small of a dose to be of much use. The sea salt in Ted's remedy is also beneficial for other areas of health.
