[YEA] 02/21/2011: Ann from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar for canker sores
I drink ACV for digestive purposes a glass each evening. I have had a hurting canker sore on the tip of my tongue for almost a week and today it was as painful as day one. Slowly drinking vinegar and water combo this eve I noticed that it didn't even burn the sore and actually made it feel better. I held sips in my mouth for a few minutes a couple of times over about a half hour and the pain is far less. Just a couple table spoons in a glass of water. To think I am 60 and am just now finding a remedy of this life long ailment."

[YEA] 02/09/2010: Victoria from Gold Coast, Australia writes: "I cured two nasty painful mouth ulcers which I'd had for a week using the ACV remedy on the website. I just soaked a cotton tip in it and held it on the ulcers for 10 minutes. It did burn a lot at first, but then it just felt numb. The next day I woke up and it felt much better. I applied it again that day, and they have now disappeared.
I was taking a Vitamin C supplement at the time which was of 'orange colour' as well, which I think is what caused the ulcers in the first place!"
10/18/2011: David from New York, Ny replies: "Tannin is also a good remedy, it's found in black tea. If you put a black tea bag on your tongue and let it sit for like 5 min or so you take it off and the pain is nearly all gone and the effect stays for quite awhile."

[YEA] 07/14/2009: rms11731 from East Northport, NY USA writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar cured my canker Sore in my mouth. It was hurting so much. I was using an over the counter gel I bought at the drustore. I used it for 3 days and it was healing it. I tried the apple cider vinegar and after 2 applications it's so much better. I dipped a cotton swab into the apple cider vinegar and applied it to the canker sore. It stung alot, but it was so worth it. I highly recommend this treatment."

[YEA] 04/30/2009: Nikki from Detroit, Michigan writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar works great. I swabded some on with a qtip, it stung a little but it was worth it. Almost immediatly it no longer hurt to much. In less than 12 hours my canker sore no longer hurt and was much smaller. I was so happy this worked!"
Replies[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 06/24/2011: Mo from Pakersburg, Pa replies: "I think it works well. A couple minutes ago it felt like there was a wall holding back and it hurt a lot to talk and I couldn't even eat. I didn't have lunch or dinner and was feeling so sick. Now that I see this I applied it and now it feels like the Berlin Wall just fell. I can talk finally! I'm going to not take a lot of acid today though, I have soda everyday so I'm going to cut down on that."

[YEA] 04/26/2009: Elle from Austin, Texas writes: "I've used ACV a few times now. It usually helps. I had one bad boy that it didn't seem to have any effect on. I get canker sores A LOT and have determined that orange things tend to give me canker sores. Not real orange things, but things with dye - like original Advil. Actually, I thought I was allergic to ibuprofen for years, but now know it's the coloring. Anyway, ACV does sting it may burn for some people and it doesn't taste that great. I've started using one of the OTC liquid oral pain relievers, then when it's nice and numb I apply the ACV soaked Q-Tip it doesn't seem to have negatively affected its efficacy, and if anything it has helped because I'm a super wimp and it allows me to keep the ACV on longer."

[YEA] 02/23/2009: John from Charlotte, NC writes: "ACV helped my canker sore dramatically. After several days of pain so intense it was hard to talk, I found this site on google and decided to try ACV. I used to cotton swab dipped in ACV to cover the sore on my tongue for 45 seconds or so (it does sting), but after a few minutes, my pain went from a 10 to a 3. I applied ACV a few more times the first day and the second day. Today, the third day, the sore seems to be almost gone."

[YEA] 01/13/2009: Jingdong from Chandler, Arizona, US writes: "I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar and it worked. I had 2 very painful canker sores on the side of my tongue. It hurts to talk or even swallow. I searched the web out of desperation, and I'm so glad that I found this site. I applied the ACV with a cotton tip. Pressed it on the sore as long as I could stand. It is very painful. I applied it every 2 hours or so. It seems hurts more in the beginning but I kept doing it. The pain was relieved after 3 or 4 times, and the pain was significantly reduced on the 2nd day.
The sore was completely gone after 3 days."
[NAY] 07/13/2010: Cselestyna from Calgary, Alberta replies: "Okay so I have the hugest canker sore between my gums and cheek... I love acv for everything. But when I tried this tip last night my mouth was in so much pain I couldn't sleep! I felt the pain right down to the root of my teeth, even my hair hurt. Finally I had to rinse my mouth with warm salt water. So if this works for you then great but personally it was NOT a good experience. However I will continue to take it for other things."

[YEA] 01/09/2009: Leyana from Northern, NJ writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar cured my canker sores. Sore were brought on by NSAID medication MOBIC, which I have discontinued (why trade one pain for another). After using an OTC patch for two nights in a row unsuccessfully, I tried ACV last night with several applications then several more this morning. By noon I am in MUCH less pain the they are almost gone. The OTC patch usuaully works for me but not this time as these sores were really bad ones. Beware of NSAIDs if you are prone to canker sores!"

[YEA] 12/27/2008: Catherine from Northfield, Ohio writes: "After reading the feedback on ACV for canker sores, I decided to try it out on a miserable canker sore that I have had for 5 days. I figured it couldn't make it feel any worse at this point, so I took a Q-tip and dipped it in ACV. I applied this onto the sore and held it on for about 20 seconds. After doing this a few times, the pains immediately subsided. It feels 80% better and I will keep doing this until it is gone. Thank you!!"

[YEA] 12/24/2008: Michelle from Vancouver, BC writes: "i tried apple cider vinegar. I trusted trying it since if it didn't work as an acid to kill whatever is causing this that baking soda would be alkaline enough to reverse the effects if rinsed immediately after. Apple cider worked to relieve the pain. Have yet to see if sore gets worse or better. I have used apple cider vinegar before. Read a book on it by Braggs apple cider vinegar it was the best type. You can drink it as a cure all for intestinal issues in general. I have acidic issues from over ingesting acidic diet and thought this would not work on me. ome people must have a bacteria behind their canker sores. Ive had them all my life they are horrible and got bigger over the years. I just diluted mine with water two table spoons. Let that act first so it wouldn't shock me. then I put the raw on after initial ouch was getting numb. Rinsed it like an old oral rinse the listerine of nature !Too much of this can it wear down the tooth enamel? Not if you then brush your teeth."

[YEA] 12/23/2008: Jenn from Hiram, Georgia writes: "I had bit the inside of my mouth 3 times and they all turned into canker sores. I had them for 3 weeks and I tried, peroxide, Manuka honey, Cankaid, and some numbing gel. Nothing seemed to work and I was afraid that the acid would make it worse and it did not. The ACV was the only thing that helped with the pain and I was able to feel relief. Because they were so bad, I had to keep applying the ACV every hour or so, but I could tell it was healing."

[NAY] 12/14/2008: Brock from Brentwood, California writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar did not help my canker sore. I used a q-tip filled with ACV and it burned alot and had no relief within the next 24 hours."
Replies[SIDE EFFECTS] 09/11/2009: New To All This from La, Ca replies: "I tried sipping apple cider vineger the other day to treat acid reflux and now I have two canker sores. I used to get canker sores all the time but haven't lately, so I'm pretty sure that's what caused it. It didn't help the acid reflux, either, so I'm not going to test whether it'll cure the canker sores."

[YEA] 11/08/2008: Shirley from Riverside, CA writes: "After reading about canker sores and some home remedies on this site, I decided to try them. All today, I tried first Hydrogen Peroxide, that didn't work, then I put salt on it and OMG it hurt sooooo bad and that didn't work. A few hours later, I couldn't take the pain anymore, so I decided to try apple cider vinegar. I put some on a Q-tip and it hurt soooooo bad, but a few minutes later the pain was basically gone. I went from not being able to talk to eating dinner within a matter of an hour. I am so amazed! I did it couple more times today and it did not hurt that much second time around. I am just amazed as how fast it worked."

[NAY] 10/08/2008: Nick from Quebec, QC, Canada writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar: I used this product for my canker sores but it only got worse. Not much worse, but still. But now I finally understand why it doesn't work on some people or even makes it worse...Most canker sores are caused by a specific type of bacteria while this vinegar can kill it and speeds healing. But in less common cases, canker sores are caused by acidity. In this case the vinegar, which is acid, worsens the case. If your symptom worsens, rinse mouth regularly with warm salt water to counter the acid."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 07/24/2008: Dan from Dallas, TX writes: "I swear as I was reading this info I ran to the kitchen cabinet and threw "acv"in my mouth. I counted about 30 seconds and yes after the sting, (which by the way is not even close to as painful as the BS I tried before), I felt some relief. After suffering with this for as long as I can remember, I can't believe it took me this long to Google it. I just hope it dose cure it like most of you say."

[NAY] 07/19/2008: Mary from Volcano, HI writes: "I tried acv on 3 small canker sores which weren't too painful but bothered me most in the evening. The next morning I got up and they were all bigger and hurt like crazy all day. The acv definately made them worse."

[YEA] 07/08/2008: Amanda from Granville, Ohio writes: "I had a canker sore on the roof of my mouth for about three days. It was so bad that I didn't eat for those three days, and it throbbed to the point where I couldn't sleep that well! I tried orajel to numb the pain but that only worked for about 3 minutes or so. I also tried rinsing with warm salt water, which also was to no avail. After stumbling upon this site and learning that Apple Cider Vinegar may help, I tried it and after a brief stinging period the pain went away almost completely. I was amazed. This was last night, and this morning when I woke up the canker was almost completely gone."

[YEA] 06/23/2008: Susan from Atlanta, Georgia writes: "I had the absolute worst canker sore in my mouth. I was on vacation and had a horrible time because I was so miserable. When I got home, I read about different remedies online and found the one about Apple Cider Vinegar. I cannot believe that it worked in one day!!! I dabbed it on before going to bed (it stings at first), but I had immediate results. Not only did it allow me to sleep but it pretty much cleared up by the next morning! I will use it from now on and stop wasting my money on the stuff that does not work from the drug store. Thank you!"

[YEA] 06/11/2008: Jim from Menomonee Falls, WI writes: "I was skeptical at first as they tell you to avoid citrus when you have a canker sore so the apple in the vinegar is what I questioned but none the less when your in pain you try anything. It worked to my surprise! Vinegar has germ killing effect so that is probably why it works so well."

[YEA] 05/17/2008: James Eddy from Morgantown, West Virginia writes: "Mouth Ulcers: Apple Cider Vinegar was incredible in sour taste and burning at first but, pain completely subsided. Don't know why but my tongue seemed to turn white at first, lol The taste is less upsetting with each successive use. And yes... I got mine from smokeless tobacco. Guess my mouth can't handle it any more. (and that's a good thing)"

[NAY] 10/26/2007: Karen from Bozeman, USA writes: "Have read with interest the articles on ACV and decided to try it. 3 days later and I have a mouth full of canker sores. Having good success healing them with alum, the pickling spice. No pain w/ application, but what did I do wrong? I'd like to continue with ACV as it has so many health benefits but can't live with mouth sores. Now what?"
Replies[NAY] 07/31/2008: Shawn from Billings, MT replies: "I don't think I agree with the ACV remedy. I tried this on Wednesday after feeling terrible pain from the canker sore. Immediately after I drank the ACV I pissed my pants and forgot who I was for about a half hour. I may have used too much or something, also, are you supposed to swallow it? Didn't really care for that."
[WARNING!] 09/21/2008: Alicia from Ashland, WI replies: "I tried using the ACV yesterday due to the mostly positive feedback and because I was desperate for ANYTHING to ease this horrible pain and let me tell you.. IT DOES NOT WORK!!!! First off it burns like hell, and this morning I wake up and instead of just having a small one on the side of my tongue I know have like 5 of them going all the way down the side of my tongue. I am way worse of now then I was before. Please think twice before trying this! Yesterday, I was in pain but today I can barely even drink water because it hurts so much."
[NAY] 11/26/2009: Jess from Rocky Point, Ny Usa replies: "used ACV on a qtip on My sores- got MORE! grew into a huge sore and got more on my tounge- all the pain for nothing! Went to the dentist, who referred me to an oral surgeon who confirmed that it had only aggravated my sores... DONT USE THIS!"
[YEA] 11/27/2011: Kenz from Shawnee, Kansas replies: "Some Ulcers are caused by acid. In this case, ACV will make it worse. For me, the Apple Cider Vinegar fixed mine in 45 mins. Mine was so horrid, it hurt so badly I couldn't even breathe right. This fixed it."

[YEA] 10/18/2007: Will from Shelton, WA writes: "Another YES for apple cider vinegar. It cured my canker sore in one day. I put unpasteurized ACV in an eye dropper and applied it directly to the sore on my inner lip frequently throughout the day. Whatever microbe that causes cankers does not seem to be able to live in the presence of ACV. I think the trick is not to go to long between applications. To bad they don't teach this to the drug pushers."

[YEA] 09/01/2007: Stacy from Akron, Ohio writes: "ACV cured my sons canker sore. My son had a canker sore and it hurt him daily as he tried to chew food. He didn't even want me to look at it because it hurt him so much. I came to your site to see what remedies were suggested. ACV was at the top of the list and since we have the Bragg brad here at home, i used a spray bottle once i read the reviews. He didn't like the sour taste, but the next day he had RELIEF. I sprayed twice the following day when he rose in the morning and before bed at night. Within 4 days it was gone and not returned. I spray ACV in his mouth once a week to keep the canker sores away. IT REALLY WORKS!!!! He wanted me to write so that other kids could get help. Thank you earth clinic"

I was in so much pain and the Zilactin-B I used made the problem even worse. I saw this website and went right out and bought the ACV. I used it twice within an hour and now it doesn't hurt and I only have one sore left!"
