[SIDE EFFECTS]  01/18/2011: Dawn from Wildwood, Mo writes: "I am getting acne on my jawline, which I know is hormonal. I have noticed that I seem to have a bit of a sensitivity to the ACV and it seems like these come out when I do that. I know sometimes you break out worse at first and then it goes away, that is not the case here! I have tested it and I definitely can pinpoint it to the ACV. Is anyone else having an issue with this or is there anything I can do to get rid of them? They are the cyst like ones, they hurt and take a long time to go away!"

04/03/2011: Abi from San Francisco, Ca replies: "I had this same problem (with the painful breakouts on the jawline). After some research, I realized it was a food allergy to wheat. Once I cut out food that contained unbleached wheat flour, I noticed a huge difference (no more jawline breakouts). I also used tinctures of burdock root, yellow dock root, dandelion and red clover as adjuncts to the new diet regimen. These tinctures are known for their blood cleansing properties. I hope this helps."

[YEA]  11/21/2010: Amber from Akron, Pa, Usa writes: "I've always had acne-prone skin, but in my early 30's, I was hit with sudden, horrible, cystic acne. I read books, websites, changed my diet, changed my cleansing--i tried everything natural I heard about, and nothing worked. Finally, I found this website and tried apple cider vinegar, and my skin was improved the very next day. Within about a week, I was no longer getting cystic acne. After a year, i'd stopped taking the ACV, and my skin broke out again. So I'm back on my ACV regimen, and my skin improved overnight, again. Amazing cure--easy, cheap and healthy. I put a splash of ACV in a tall glass of water, and drink two or three glasses per day."

[YEA]  06/23/2010: Iil0veeyou from Webster, Mass. writes: "A few months ago i went off of my birth control pills. The results of that were awful. I broke out all over my face chest and even back. Ive never had acne on my back. Generally i have extremely clear and smooth skin. I was so upset and went on this website. I saw that people were using ACV for acne and since i already had a bottle of organic ACV i thought id give it a try. I applied it to my skin a few times a day (my skin is very oily so it didnt dry it out)it wasnt mixed with water just straight out of the bottle. Used it for about 2 weeks didnt see significant results. But i didnt quit. I was desperate to get rid of my gross acne. So i kept using it topically and started drinking it 3 times a day (2tbsp. in 8oz water with 1 tsp of organic honey)and finally! My skin started clearing up so fast and now it is almost flawless. I get occasional tiny zits in the spots where i sweat but who doesnt. And they are noticeable to me.

Honestly i swear by ACV it is amazing. I use it for any kind of bug bites or any other little things that may appear on my skin and by the next day its gone. Use ACV internally and topically combined with a healthy life style full of drinking water, eating fruits and veggies and exercising and you will see improvement in your complexion. Forget the strong prescription medicines that only cause more damage. Stick to the natural old remedies. Good luck! I hope you see results as good as mine. (:"

[YEA]  05/11/2010: Elaine from Pueblo, Co, Usa writes: "I'm 26 and have never had problems with Acne until about 6 months ago. I broke out on my cheeks and my chest. I have tried everything and even went to the dermatologist. He prescribed me Retin-a and a antibacterial face wash. Neither has helped at all. A couple weeks ago I read about ACV on this site and started using it every morning and night on my face. I wash my face with an organic face wash, then use a cotten ball to apply ACV to my face. I let it dry for about 5-6 minutes then I apply a moisturizer. Make sure to moisturize afterwards or it will really dry your skin.I also have been drinking a splash of ACV mixed with water daily. I can't believe how good my skin looks. The acne is almost completely gone, replaced by a healthy glow. I would recommend this to anyone with acne problems. It really is amazing."

[NAY]  05/30/2011: Vee from Ft. Hood, Texas replies: "Nay: Some time ago, I used ACV as a toner before bed on my acne ridden face. I put some on a cotton ball & spread it over my face at night. It didn't work for me-it made my face rough and didn't take away the pimples at all. Recently, I felt a pimple coming up and used ACV on a cotton ball and held it on the developing pimple for several minutes. That didn't work either. In fact-I developed a scab overnight on my face where the pimple was! I was so upset because I had a job interview that morning & I don't wear makeup, so I couldn't cover it up! My plea is that people be specific when they write about how they actually used the product. I did get the job by the way!"
09/25/2011: Caitlin from Austin, Tx replies: "Same here! As an older women, I tend toward drier skin & ACV & Hydrogen Peroxide are very drying to the point of wrinkling for me now. Finally, after a year of expermentation, I clean my skin & neck with a wet, hot watered cotton round smeared with coconut oil. The pad gets pretty dirty. Then, I dab castor oil on my face and gently rub in with water. This has cleared my face and It glows. For the rest of my body, I smear on coconut oil, scrub with a dry cloth and then take a cold shower. I wash key parts, underarms & lower regions with a good organic soap (Dr. Bronner's, Harnn or Grandpa's) and I'm done. I'm fresh, clean and with super soft skin. I only use cologne on my clothes or the bottom of my long hair. I wash my scalp with fresh lemon juice or diluted ACV then rinse my entire head with cold water. My hair & skin have greatly improved this year with my hair finally getting thicker. Oil Pulling & drinking 1 Tabsp of ACV each morning & before bed 1 Tabsp of coconut oil as breakfast has also boosted my hair, skin, joints, sleep, immune system, energy & helps elimenate my vast food cravings while I low carb diet away 70 extra pounds. It's all working! My message to everyone is that natural products require diligence and patience. Over time, it's more than worth it!"

[YEA]  04/04/2010: Holly from Portland, Or, Usa writes: "Acne: Apple Cider Vinegar. CURED my non-inflammatory acne MUCH MUCH better than Retin-A!! I have a perscription for Retin-A, and have been taking it for months. It smells and i know it's bad for your skin as far as sun damage goes, so I've never used it on my face, where...for the last few years, I've had small under the skin bumps that are sort of annoying. I thought others were exaggerating on overnight success...but I kid you not, I dipped a cotton swab in ACV and ran it over the area, went to bed, woke up...excited to see the results, ran my fingers over it...baby bottom smooth! incredible! You smell a little funky, but it goes away in 2-3 minutes. Trying to ingest it too to see the results, and will try it on my legs and arms where I also have these bumps....will send results."

[YEA]  01/12/2010: Bonnie from Manlius, New York writes: "I just had to post my input on ACV for acne. It REALLY works and if you have acne, you MUST try it! I have used it topically every night...just a cotton balls worth rubbed into skin, then I wash it off with soap. Also, I drink two glasses of ACV, honey and water (2 tbls acv, one tsp honey and 8oz water) each day. I'm 40 and have had breakouts for years but this routine works. And my skin is amazing now. I do get the occasional pimple which I immediately attack with a q-tip full of hydrogen peroxide and that shrinks it and stops it from getting any bigger. But overall, the acv has cured my acne! I have recently started applying virgin coconut oil to my skin and that has really helped with skin tone as well as shrinking my pores. I'm so grateful to EC for this site...and to think I was wasting so much money on all those stupid chemicals when all I needed was acv. Keep posting!"

Thanks for you feedback about ACV. I want to try this remedy. DO i apply ACV and keep in overnight and wash with soap in the morning? Thanks"
01/13/2010: Bonnie from Manlius, Ny replies: "Hi Thealth,

I started out by leaving the ACV on overnight, but it made my skin very red and irritated. I did that for a couple weeks, then when I saw that it was working, I decided to just use it as a "toner" so to speak. In other words, dampen a cotton ball with the ACV, then rub it onto your skin. I then wash it off almost immediately. It might take a week or two to see results, but you will. Go ahead and try leaving it on overnight....it might work well for you! Also, VERY important, only use ACV with "the mother" (raw, unpasteurized). If your grocer doesn't have it, try your local health food store! Good luck!"

[YEA]  01/11/2010: Carp from Bronx, Ny, Usa writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar and water, 1:1 - success!

I'm in my late 20s, and have had moderate acne for 12 years or so. It had mostly subsided, but then a few months ago, flared up in a crazy, severe way. I tried modifying my diet and my face-wash routine, but it only seemed to get worse. Finally, I found this routine: every night before bed, I do a light swab with rubbing alcohol (I don't trust my usual soap anymore) to clean, then a light swab with the diluted ACV.

The results are astonishing. I don't want to speak too soon (I've only been on this regimen for 3 weeks now), but my skin is 97% clear and looking better every day. Good luck, everybody - and thank you!"

2)After applying Alcohol and ACV, do you keep it on overnight on your face?

Thanks a lot."

[YEA]  01/06/2010: Radha from Urbandale, Ia writes: "Pure apple cider vinegar cured my acne in a week and a half. I have normal skin but tend to get the usual breakout around the end of the month... ;). At one point, my entire left cheek was covered in hard, red, itchy pimples and clear little dots everywhere. I started using a gentle exfoliator for my face wash. Then I would dip a cotton ball in ACV and rub it all over my face. Just a thin layer will do. Then i would sit for alittle bit and let it dry. The smell is something you'll get used to but the first night is terrible. Have the thin layer of ACV dry then apply just a light moisturizer then go to sleep. Make sure all your pimples and such are covered by the ACV. You aren't going to get amazing results over night if you have severe acne; but after about 3-4 days you'll start to see them slowly dry up. If you start to see puss rise up in some LEAVE THEM ALONE. Picking them will only leave a scar. This is my daily routine:) my face has cleared so amazingly. Hooked for life:)"

[YEA]  12/16/2009: Laura from Fort Worth, Tx writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is amazing! I am 38 yrs old and have sufferered from acne since my teens. My face has never been blemish free until now. I have spent thousands on medicines and OTCounter creams to no avail. What drove me to search online for help was that my forehead broke out all over in tiny bumps and nothing (even antibiotics) was taking it away. I was also on accutane in my early 20's for cystic acne, but since then, it was just regular acne I dealt with, plus tiny whiteheads all over my forehead.

I came across ACV reviews online and thought "what do I have to lose?" I bought the raw kind with the "mother" and I used it straight out of the bottle- applied w/ a cotton ball. It stung the heck out of my face, and stunk to high heaven, burned my eyes a little, but after a while, it settled down and I went to bed like that. Now when I use it, it tingles only a little and my eyes are fine... guess I have gotten use to it.

I woke up the next day and was ****amazed**** at the results!!!!!! I had already cut out sugar from my diet many months prior (and seen a little improvement), so this effect could only be attributable to the ACV. Within 3 days the tiny bumps had vanished and my skin was baby smooth.

I've used it now for about 2 months and my skin is beautiful and acne free!!!! I am scared that I will wake up one day and it wont' work the same, it is that good. Also, it does not dry out my skin like the meds.

I wish I could post a before and after picture of myself- but I thought I would at least share the good news and help some other poor soul who has given up hope. Maybe it will work for you, too."

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS]  09/10/2010: Belinda from O-town, Fl, Usa replies: "Twice a day I apply B---G ACV to my face and neck after washing. I simply dab it on with a cotton ball and leave it. The smell goes away after it is dry. I am 46 and have suffered from acne most of my life. My face cleared up within a few days. The ACV stimulated the skin and gave me a healthy flush. Other co-workers have complimented my skin. One co-worker said I looked "rested" and another asked if "I'd been to the beach". I noticed that new breakouts are occurring in the back of my neck under the hairline (right where I stopped applying the ACV). There were some strange symptoms in the first few weeks. I believe I'd had some fungus or bugs under my skin which initially protested. My rosacea cleared up and I am thrilled. Thank you!"

05/03/2009: Samlaunch from Knoxville, Tennessee writes: "I stumbled onto this website yesterday afternoon and happened to have some apple cider vinegar (ACV) sitting somewhere in my apartment. Well, after reading about the acne/stomach/flu cure, I looked high and low for the gallon of the ACV; found it sitting on the top of my refrigerator. Immediately, poured some into a cup and drank it raw and then proceeded to the bathroom to splash some on my face and neck. Within 12 hours, whatever acne there was, shriveled up and died an ignominious death, my stomach feels like a million dollars, and my appetite has returned in force due to me being a tall drink of water which equivalates to thin. I don't have the flu but have taken the ACV as a precautionary measure. Thanks for common sensical information. The link to this website has been given to my friends. Everyone here is the best! [YEA]  05/02/2009: Amber from Buffalo, MN writes: "Acne: Using Apple Cider Vinegar. Get a spray bottle ( any size works). Mix 1 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar to 10 tsp of water in spray bottle. Use 2 times a day after washing the face or infected area. Before applying, make sure you shake the bottle. Keep away from eyes and lips. It will put moisture into your skin as well. Do not put lotion on area where you have used the acv/h20 mix. Do not over exceed the amount of vinegar as it can burn your face. Once your skin gets used to the amount of vinegar, slightly increase it."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  03/10/2009: Teri from Cedar Springs, Michigan writes: "Question - My son 18yrs. has had an acne problem for years now, face and body. Have seen some results with ACV over the past 30-40 days. Seems to be at a standstill with further results. Believe he has Candida. Will start him on the H2O2 regimen. Wondered; can or should he take other things to clear up the Candida like Caprylic acid, Oil of Oregeno, Garlic. Naturally because of his age he is busy and not always wanting to cooperate. Plus he is skeptical after many meds over the years. Can he take more than one of these remedies? What would be the best/simplest for him to get rid of his acne? Sure would appreciate what you think."

But I have one question? is it ok to be drink Apple Cider Vinegar Natural by White House. I wasn't quite sure on the differences of organic and natural. Thanks for taking the time to read this!! -Madi"

07/12/2009: Jeremiah from San Diego, California replies: "The difference between natural and organic is that sometimes a product can be natural with nothing added to the product (i.e. only ACV without preservatives, etc), yet be grown using conventional farming techniques. Organic means that it is grown by USDA Organic Farming Measures, meaning no herbicides, pesticides, or anything else that can harm a person. Earth Clinic should have a better description of what I mean, but that pretty much sums it up. Organic is always best."

I have a big sweet tooth, sugar is my weakness, i've made a lot of cutbacks , But should I cut sugar out completely? I want clear healthy radiant skin, And Willing to do anything to get it. Thanks!"

01/06/2009: Sandy from In the sticks, Nevada replies: "When my family went sugar free for 6 months, my teens' skin cleared up. It is tough to eat healthy and give up sugar, but if you can do it for six months several things will happen. . .

1. You will realize how addicted you were to the stuff,
2. Your taste buds may change where you find sugar is not that appealing when you end your six month ban,
3. You won't get sick as often and you will feel better.

Now that we are off the sugar free diet, the kids will occasionally indulge in sodas and other junk -- the zits they get the next few days after remind them what they are doing to themselves. If you are very addicted to sugar I recommend EFT (Google it) it helped me with a Coca Cola addiction.

P.S. My kids won't do the EFT for soda and junk, because they don't want to give them up forever! A testimony to their addiction and the effectiveness of EFT!"

I have begun ingesting ACV diluted with water and haven't seen much improvement and during the winter months here in the northeast, I have problem skin on other parts of my body...legs, forearms, midriff, lower back....I am massaging my feet nightly (just started 3 nights ago) and concentrating on points as recommended by reflexology....I am noticing a new blemish on my face and hope that the bad stuff is leaving my body....this could take weeks at this rate though - natural cures, in my experience, take time and patience along with consistency which I am terrible with, but I need to keep trying....stick with what you're doing, get lots of veggies and fruits....try to get some sun everyday....keep the faith!!!"
[SIDE EFFECTS]  01/18/2009: Alice from Singapore replies: "Hi Kassandra, I've been on ACV exactly 2 weeks now. I used it as topical about 3 times a day and drink it twice a day, dilute with water.

I dunno if it is helping. Into the 2nd week, it got worse. The side of my cheek broke out with lots of pimples..small ones..but lots of them. my chin has also some today, so is my forehead. Is this purging?I do facial.. and my beautician was surprised to see the outbreak.

I had pimples problem in my teens. After which it never bothers me until lately. im 36.

Im really hoping ACV will do some miracle to my condition. I'm still waiting. And keep telling myself to at least try for 1 month before giving up."
04/17/2009: Lisa from Russelville, KY USA replies: "The skin has several functions; none of those functions are to remove toxins from the body. That is the job of the liver and kidneys. Don't let anyone tell you that toxins will leave the body through the skin. Acne is a disease, not to be cured by leaving through skin pores."
07/20/2009: Ralph from Miami, FL replies: "You might want to check your biology books again. The skin is your largest organ of absorbtion and ellimination."
09/21/2009: Azg from Toronto, On replies: "Lisa, from Russelville KY - You're completely wrong there. Your skin DOES eliminate toxins. It probably eliminates more than your bladder does. Just because your skin doesn't smell like urine or feces doesn't mean it's not eliminating. Notice how beautiful your skin gets when you drink 8-10 glasses of water a day (that's because the toxins your skin is eliminating aren't struggling to get out - therefore your skin glows). Notice how beautiful your skin gets when you excercise to the point of sweat pouring off your skin (or even going to the sauna) - you're helping your body eliminate those toxins, so again...your skin will be glowing.

Ask any doctor. They'll tell your body eliminates toxins through your colons, your bladder, your BREATH, and your skin."
10/21/2009: Roslyn from Queens, New York replies: "This is for Sandy from the sticks, Nevada. I totally agree with the sugar free diet also eliminating dairy is a major plus. I too have a really bad sweet tooth."
[YEA]  11/03/2010: Mark from Las Vegas, Nv replies: ""Azg from Toronto" - You are right except for one thing. Urine is not a toxin in fact it is sterile and will also cure acne if you apply it topically, it's good for cut, burns, and the skin in general. It also has cured everything from Aids, to cancer, to infections all of kinds when ingest, yes by drinking it. It is IN FACT your bodies own perfect medicine. It's not dirty or toxic. Google and youtube search "Urine Therapy" it will change your life or maybe even save it. It has mine."
11/03/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Ok Mark, you might be right but then explain to me why if you have a problem your urine is tested to see what is there that shouldn't be there? That you will take in when you drink it, true? I have asked this question a few times but no one ever answers me! I have bladder infections regularly and they check my urine to see which bacteria is there. If I was drinking it wouldn't I be drinking that too?"
11/04/2010: Lily from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia replies: "Hi francisca, I agree with your theory, I suffer from bladder infections also and would assume regarding urine therapy you would be putting the bacteria back into your system. I wouldn't try it for this reason, and also if you are on anti- biotics or any other medication you would be putting the meds back into your system. I would think this is only for a very healthy non drug taking person. Lily."

[YEA]  12/08/2008: Elena from Berkeley, CA writes: "I have just starting drinking ACV and water every day for close to 3 weeks now. I have suffered from acne since I was 12 years old and I am now 36 and as I've gotten older it has gotten worse. After drinking ACV for about 2 weeks, my skin started to transform and it looks great! I've tried everything to get rid of my grossly impacted pores and my pores are almost now completely free of debris. I have started using the ACV in my clay mask as well instead of water and it has made a HUGE difference. Not only has my face cleared up but the breakouts on other body parts are also clearing up. My skin is so soft, I have more energy and I've been having regular bowl movements. I've also noticed that my lips were very dry, they are now soft with no dryness.

Initially, when I started drinking ACV my skin erupted, now in retrospect I know that my body was just pushing the toxins out of my system. Also, my skin would be so oily, truly greasy several hours after cleaning my face, now I've noticed that my face has a beautiful glow but not OILY or greasy looking like before, this stuff is amazing! And I should also report that I do look 10 years younger as well! I am now looking forward to continuing my ACV treatment and have started to really take healing myself naturally very seriously."

12/09/2008: James Sesame from State College, PA replies: "Very good. ACV will work, but only temporarily until you restore your damaged gut. You have whatever you have, mental, physical or genetic,s due to gut dysbiosis, destroyed gut flora & overgrowth of pathological gut organisms, which all of us contain, but run out of control when we destroy our friendly gut flora with antibiotics. Use your clay internally as well. If it is ok for your skin it is ok internally, or should be. ACV in the clay water you drink will be excellent. As will Celtic sea salt, a healing salt made by hand from the sea. It is live containing sea & earth organisms from the indigenous clay it is cultivated in. If you want internal clay, make sure it has been used anciently & has not been adulterated by modern purification processes. It will restore your gut flora & kill any MRSA or PRSA or other rank stuff like any candida or clostridia or Ecoli (there are many beneficial & essential Ecoli, which are killed by antibiotics & by vaccines)"

Anyway today is the first day I am drinking the ACV with water, is there any other suggestions on how to get this down? I nearly gag everytime I put the cup up to my mouth. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

I have just started drinking for myself and my six children a mixture of 32 ounce of apple juice (not from concentrate), 32 ounce of grape juice (also not from concentrate), 2 ounce of honey (organic) and 16 ounces of apple cider vinegar organic with the mother. I have six boys and I have one that just recently went through the swine flu and doing well. I read about this and that it can boost immunity while helping with all the other things that apple cider vinegar is good for. This may help with the taste for you. Its not bad to me. I just want my family to be healthy. Also look into your ph balance. I am also doing lime and baking soda and water mixture and it seems to be helping me with the cravings- I really don't have many cravings now which is exciting because I have a lot of weight to lose."

I use Organic ACV directly to my face & take 2 tbl spoons every day. I apply it to my skin in the morning and leave it on for ten minutes. Then I wash it off with facial wash from the health food store that contains tea tree oil. Then I mix one drop of tea tree oil & Vitamin E to my skin for a moistrizer. At night, I just wash my face then use ACV directly and sleep with it overnight. I did break out with a small rash on my left cheek, but realized I was releasing toxins of my skin. This remedy sloughs off dead skin and leaves my skin looking and feeling great! I suffer with acne spots that I want to remove naturally and this seems to work. I also include fiber in my diet and drink lots of water. Make sure you get a lot of sleep and exercise. Combating acne requires a combination of healthy remedies."

[YEA]  11/08/2008: Beth from Chicago, IL, USA writes: "For about 13 years I've suffered from acne, periodically cystic. I've been using Apple Cider Vinegar topically for something like 6 months, and it has completely turned my skin around.

I pretty much just incorporated the ACV into my skin care routine, and it has made all the difference: morning and night I use a mild cleanser to wash my face, and I then apply undiluted ACV topically using a cotton pad. I follow this up with a gentle toner and a mild moisturizer. I would say that I have very sensitive skin, and the ACV hasn't caused me any problems as long as I'm sure to use moisturizer afterwards.

My one concern is that I'm starting to notice that some little wrinkles I had are becoming more pronounced. I have no idea if the ACV is the cause of this, but I would really them to go away. Earth Clinic, please send some help my way. :-)"

But to counterbalance the drying effect of ACV you need to use a moisturizer. I use Virgin Coconut Oil as my body and facial moisturizer and my facial wrinkles and body are a lot smoother and less noticable."

I started with the revised dosage of ACV, 2 teaspoons ACV in 16 oz water with 2 teaspoons organic honey and I've worked my way up to 2 tablespoons ACV in 16 oz water with 1 tablespoon honey. I also mixed a toner using one part ACV, one part witch hazel, and 3 parts water in a small bottle and put it on a cotton ball applying to my skin nightly. This combination has made my skin sooooo much clearer! I get one occasional pimple but I haven't had any severe breakouts since I started using ACV. My skin has become softer and has a glow now. I LOVE IT!!!"
