SILVER WATER, ZAPPER, HOT WATER
[YEA] 11/15/2007: Gabi from Czestochowa, Poland writes: "The best thing to kill all those ugly and painful things on our skin is #1 Alkaloidal Silver Water, #2 Dr Hulda's Clark Zapper and #3 hot water (hot shower) Silver water helps also heal burns (even those infected). When you apply SW to affected area it looks like nothing is happening but after couple of hrs pain subsides (boil, burn) . On second day you see that the boil doesn't get worse. usually 3rd day you start noticing that boil starts getting smaller. I practiced SW on all my friends with skin problems. It works, is cheap. It is wonderful cure on all kind of infected abrasions (with pas). I would never use antibiotic ointments! All you need is just 1-2 drops or gentle tap with the tip of your finger. I keep my SW in hair spray bottle. It produces very fine mist."

[YEA] 03/29/2009: Nature Lover from Grand Rapids, Michigan writes: "Background: I had a problem of adult acne for several years. I used to have at least 2-3 active zits over my face. I tried everything: OTC Acne products, ACV, H2O2, and went to a dermatologist for creams and Zyrtec. Then I cam across steam bath at my apartment complex. Within a week my skin was great, no acne problems for months! And then the Steam bath was out for repairs and my problem slowly crept back. So I bought a 'Steam facial' on Amazon for about $30 and it works almost just as great.
Measurements that worked for me: Steam bath/ steam facial: 10--15 minutes, three times a week. I make sure my face about 5 drops of sweat trickles down on the towel. I saw dramatic improvements within a week. In steam bath, I make sure the heat is enough to accelerate my heart without any pain or discomfort.
My results: I haven't used ANY skin medicines for 5 months and going strong! It also helps get rid of any cold/ cough symptoms. My wife saw her back-ache vanish.
I have used many remedies from this site and I thought I should share this very natural, no-chemicals-involved remedy with you."
03/29/2009: Tee from Chicago, IL replies: "I got a good question for everyone about acne. Does anyone know how to diminish those holes in your face sometimes associated with acne? Are there any foods, supplements, or techniques that can help with this."
03/31/2009: Rosy from Orlando, Fl replies: "This is for Tee from Chicago, I use baking soda to scrub my face and it helps so much with acne scars. I have the red forever blotches and they faded to almost nothing after scrubing with baking soda every night. An added bonus is that it makes my face less oily too. You could try to use a mixture of apple cider vinager and porixide to cleanse your face after wards, but beware that the h202 will bleach your hair and eyebrows."

07/01/2008: Stella writes: "Here are a few tips to help control acne. Whenever I sway from these I pay the price.
Acne Tips:
Wash face Twice in a row
Rinse face Thirteen splashes
Exfoliate once a week
Have good oral hygiene
Plucking eyebrows invites bacteria-clean the area well after
Don't bite inside your cheeks or lips
Use a water filter on the shower
Change pillowcases every other day (I use aloe soaked pillowcases)
Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets and use only chemical free laundry soap
Use chemical free shamp/Cond and hair products (what you put on your hair ends up on your face)
Clean your phone often (a must)
Use a natural deodorant
Use chemical free hand-soap and moisturizer (what you put on your hands ends up on your face)
Wash your hands after you touch your pets
Wash your hands and chin after you brush your teeth because bacteria from your mouth drips on your face
Never use Old make-up
Do Not leave your face wash and shamp/cond in the shower, store it in a dry place"

[YEA] 05/26/2008: Stephanie from Salt Lake City, Utah writes: "I am amazed people! I had old depressed acne scars on my face and was very discolored. Four days after doing the first of five Fraxel laser resurfacing treatments, I broke out in new acne and sandpaper type bumps under the surface of my skin. I stopped using the creams the Doctor gave me and went to this routine:
I wash my face in plain baking soda, then I put raw organic honey, cinnamon, sea salt, a splash of lemon juice and a splash of ACV in the palm of my hand-mix it together and spread it on my face.I leave it on ten or so minutes while I drink a Tbls. or so of ACV in water, rinse my mouth in baking soda and brush my teeth. Then I rinse my face off in tepid water and dry.
I have a spritz bottle that I filled half with lemon juice and half with ACV and a little distilled water so it wouldn't sting and I spray my face with that.
Then I have another bottle filled with Lavender, tea tree, grapeseed and helychrisum oils that I spray on and let air dry.
I cannot tell you people what a miracle this is! My face is looking beautiful! It cleared up the acne and surface bumps in less than two days. I wake up to tight, smooth soft skin. My tone and texture are amazing. I never wear makeup anymore. I swear by this stuff!!! I love also what the fraxel is doing for my scars and color. I have only had one treatment so far and the results will take longer to be complete, but I will never use anything on my face again that you can't eat. I go in for my next laser treatment this week, and the first thing I will put on my red swollen face when I get home is honey. Honey, ACV and Lemon juice are fantastic! My teenage daughter is doing this same routine and has gone from a pimply to perfect complexion in under a week. We love it!"

[YEA] Jade from Staffordshire, UK writes: "I mixed 2 large straberries and 1/2 a peeled orange together mashed up. I then put it in the freezer until it was a block (usually put it in overnight). The small block should be wrapped in a cloth or towel and put on the affected area. This should be repeated 2 or 3 times per week and then you should notice a difference."

[YEA] 07/11/2009: Katia from SLC, Utah writes: "I had terrible facial acne and was on many different antibiotics for years. My acne cure was to remove all sucrose (white refined sugar) from my diet. I replaced it with Stevia, which I mix in drinks and Xylitol, which I use for baking. Removing sucrose completely cured my acne in 3-4 weeks. I also lost weight as a side benefit and I never get colds anymore. I also never breakout anymore and people have commented on how healthy my skin looks. I returned to the sugar habit once (during the holidays) and my acne returned in full force. I also caught bronchitis. That was the last time I relapsed, I learned my lesson."

[YEA] 04/25/2008: Vinny from Atlanta, GA writes: "Hi, Besides taking Triple Fish Oils, Vitamin E, & Vitamin C to cure and prevent acne, I have now started taking Selenium, which is a very powerful antioxidant, and my acne is nearly cleared in just one day!!! I take more than it states on the bottle only because I know my body is in need of lots of anti-oxidants (but just don't over do it) Just as Ted stated, anti- oxidants will help tremendously with acne. I usually get all my products from GNC."
08/30/2008: Lori from Phoenix, AZ replies: "To the person who wrote about Selenium as an antioxidant: I am glad that Selenium works for you, but PLEASE be careful not to take too much! It can be toxic. Find out from your doctor what the max is. God bless!"

[YEA] 05/06/2007: Anna from Sacramento, CA writes: "My daughter had severe acne as a teenager and saw three different dermatologist giving her various medications that hardly made a difference. I read that often times acne is caused by a zinc deficiency. I took her off of all perscription meds and put her on zinc supplements 3x a day. Within a month all of her acne was gone. She had some redness and scarring but all acne was gone. I was amazed that something so simple, over the counter, could work so well. I'm not sure if I can mention this or not but if you need the exact amount it was in some book that is titled Foods that Heal."
04/21/2009: Corrie from Baton Rouge, La replies: "I have just started taking Zinc, It is 50mg for 3 times a day. I didn't get if from a book, but found it on several websites.
I think you are supposed to decrease that amount after your face has achieved the desired results."
04/21/2009: RL from san antonio, TX replies: "i have been taking about 65 mg of zinc at night plus eating almonds in morning and befor bed for about three weeks & i haven't noticed a difference i hear it takes 4 weeks to work I have also been taking raw shea butter for the black marks.
I've taking 2 1/2 zinc pills before bed each of them 25 mg i guess I'll start taking 3 pills before bed 75mg
i mainly take it for BO and it hasnt changed yet."
04/21/2009: Tee from Chicago, Il replies: "What kind of zinc are yall using?"
04/22/2009: Selena from Chula, GA replies: "You shouldn't exceed 100 mgs of zinc daily through all sources, my book states 30-80mgs daily. Possible you have other mineral deficiencies as well if you also have BO issues. Try chlorophyll by drinking green drinks or eating lots of parsley and other leafy greens. Preferably raw. Be sure you are drinking lots of pure water (not tap). Most acne and other ailments will clear up from eating a mostly raw fruit and vegetable diet. Be sure your bowels are moving. Try a colon cleanse or adding lots of fiber to your diet. This should help with the BO and the acne. I never had acne as a teenager just an occasional bump here and there. I do go through phases where I will get an area that seems to keep pimples (the kind that you can feel coming 3 days before you can see it) and usually on my chin (where I tend to prop on my hands). When this happens I put oregano oil on that area and this usually puts a stop to them for a while. Oregano burns so you may want to dilute it some with olive oil and keep away from eyes. Apply it with a q-tip to keep from getting it on your fingers and later rubbing it into eyes. I don't dilute mine, but if you have never used it I suggest diluting one drop of oregano oil to 1 tsp. of olive oil, then work your way up to adding more drops if you can take it."

[YEA] 12/07/2006: Anna from Kansas City, MS writes: "I really never have had a problem with acne so when I developed a pimple on my chin it was somewhat of a big deal. I'm not used to something on my face hurting like it did. At first I popped it and pulled out that little yellow bullet shaped thing from the middle ( what is that, the infection or dried pus?) It bled a little then a bit more pus came out - still hurt of course. I decided to try ACV which hurt and made me develop immediately a fine rash of bumps all around the blemish. I think it is because my skin is very sensitive and it just burnt it a little - or because I had the opening in my skin for it spread faster... Then I thought of crushing half of a multi vitamin and making a paste. I did so, applied the paste to the blemish, put a bandaid over it ( it did hurt for a few minutes) and Voila! in about an hour the spot had dried up and was on its way to healing and not feeling tender! I would definitely do this again!"

[YEA] 08/16/2006: Matt from Slidell, LA writes: "CORAL CALCIUM: I take about 800-1000mg - two in the morning. Results should appear in about two weeks. My understanding is that people with facial acne is a result not so much from infection of oil glands or dirty skin, but a mineral deficiency. I first came across this product originally to treat calcium deficiency. After using it for awhile my facial acne disappeared. Coral Calcium can be found in drug stores, Wal-Mart, kmart, and the like. Take care."

[YEA] 05/30/2006: Melissa from Asheville, NC writes: "Gaia Milk Thistle Yellow Dock Tincture helps to correct metabolic disorders and rid of EVERY type of acne (no matter what type) and lots of other skin disorders. Can cause flare up as you begin but I used it on and off for years now I have seldom use for it. It's not just Milk Thistle and Yellow Dock so I really haven't found another brand that works like this. I keep going back to it even when I try other herbal "acne" tinctures.
My mother developed cystic acne as a young adult. She is gorgeous but with a very scarred face. She still tries to get dermatologists to help but has never had the success I do! I used to work in a health food store and recommended this to many people. O
ne lady said her son had acne so badly they had him on Proactive and Accutane. He stopped those and switched to the Gaia tincture. She was so amazed, she brought him in a week later with scars healing and redness disappearing. She said it changed his life."

[YEA] 02/03/2006: Jenny from Canada writes: "i read a piece by anne louise gettleman, a leading nutritionist from the US about her experience with acne. when she was at uni in the 70s she was a big advocate of vegetarian diets and was on one herself. she soon developed symptoms of bad acne, an overactive mind and tired body and hair loss. this is because veg diets are high in copper and low in zinc. copper and zinc are antagonistic to each other and when one rises the other falls. upon discovering that this was the underlying cause of her symptoms, she went back to an animal based diet, her energy came back, her acne cleared up and her hair became full again. too little zinc can cause acne."
11/17/2009: London from Sandusky, Ohio replies: "I heard Pantothenic acid or vitamin B5 is supposed to be awesome for acne. You have to take quite a bit of it, and it can be expensive but it helps. It gives your skin a youthful glow, etc, as well"
[YEA] 11/19/2009: Codysmom from Alexandria, Va replies: "I've been taking vitamin B5 for past five years and that has kept my face clear. I used to get really deep and big boil type of cysts on my nose and chin. The pantothenic acid helps by preventing the pores of your skin from clogging. I always have B5 on hand. I take five capsules a day and my face is clear. I occasionally skips and my acne comes back and all I have to do is double or quadruple the dose for a few days and my face is clear again. It is the best stuff I've come across for acne. I also apply benzoyl peroxide (generic drugstore brands) on my nose and chin to kill the bacteria that may get on my face. This combined with the B5 has kept my face clear of acne and I am over 40."
11/19/2009: Theath from La, Ca replies: "Hi, Great to hear that B5 has worked for you. I am just wondering what company B5 should i buy. I know it is not allowed on this site to say the product name but I would appreciate if you can tell me what kind of B5 are using and what is the strength. Thanks a lot.

But, it can cause hair loss - remedied by taking L-LYSINE (1,ooo mg), BIOTIN (1,ooo mg) and I also take Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg. - This info is somewhere on http://www.clearskin.net (General Acne discussion) - you can SEARCH. [YEA] 05/23/2009: Elizabeth from Nashville, TN writes: "I am a 29 year old that has been suffering off and on with adult acne since the age of 19. I've tried everything....zit creams, proactive, toners, scrubs..you name it. I took Accutane when I was 23 ( a six month dose) and it did clear it up for a couple of years. Although, if I had to do it again I probably wouldn't have taken Accutane b/c of all the possible side effects, but I digress. Anyways, I have been getting pimples that have been taking FOREVER to get rid of, so of course it leaves a red dot where the pimple was. This is what I have been doing for the past week and my pimples are virtually gone and the red spots are fading fast.
1) I wash my face morning and night with Castille soap...I also use baking soda as a scrub a couple times a week.
2) After I wash my face I apply hydrogen peroxide with a cottonball and let it air dry (I do this at night only)
3) I dampen my face and apply a 70/30 ratio of jojoba oil and tea tree oil. The tea tree oil is strong so I cut it with the jojoba oil.
4) Then I get a q-tip and drop some tea tree oil on it and apply directly to current blemishes and red spots.
5) After my skin soaks this up I then apply a pump of face lotion for sensitive skin...to moisturize.
6) If you are a woman and use liquid foundation....STOP...that stuff has so many chemicals in it...I always break out when I used it...now I use a mineral foundation that is made of natural ingredients and my skin can breathe!
That's it!!! I've only been doing this for a week and my skin feels and looks so much more clear and smooth, not to mention a more even-toned complexion. I've tried ACV for my skin and it did help at first but I started breaking out again. Plus, the tea tree oil makes your skin tingle...in a GOOD way! Now I need to work on my dark eye circles! They are BAD :(
Well, I hope this helps others with acne and the scars that go with it..."

[YEA] 04/06/2009: Amanda from Carrboro, NC writes: "I like the apple cider vinegar remedy for acne, but while it helped (in place of washing with soap), I still experienced breakouts. I have been applying undiluted tea tree oil to blemishes 1-2 times per day with a cotton swab, and the blemishes are clearing quickly and fewer are appearing. My acne is often acne cysts, which are long lasting and very difficult to prevent/heal--the tea tree oil is the only remedy that makes a clear difference. It works quickly and is effective. I have read that as many as 6% of the population has a reaction to undiluted tea tree oil, though, so be sure to test a small patch of skin first, or try it diluted."

[YEA] 02/27/2009: Corrie from Newark, NJ, USA writes: "I have found that pure 100 percent tea tree oil when dabbed on acne a few times daily helps to dry out the oils and other goo that seems to accumulate there. Also, I don't know if this counts, I like to crush up aspirin from the drug store, mix it with a drop of TTO, a few drops of water, and then scrub my chest of whatever wait it for a minute or so. I've also tried baking soda with a few drops of water with good results for yucky whiteheads. Toothpaste also is a very good, quick treatment, but be caareful! It could dry out your skin. That happened to me once, and it was very red and painful to the touch, and it was days peeling and healing. I used pure aloe vera gel to moisturize my skin then, and it really helps to get rid of the redness and such.;) good luck, all!"

It was cystic acne on the forehead and temples in addition to breaking out on the chin. I tried every OTC remedy I could think of, such as ACV, neutrogena products, aspirin masks, oxy, aha's, etc. Everything made it SO much worse! Finally, I stumbled across diluted tea tree oil. I use approx. 1:4 ratio of tea tree oil to water (my skin is very sensitive). With a q-tip, I spot treat the zits and holy cow I saw improvement within as little as two days! The redness was gone and it has been clearing up. Woohoo!"

It always returned. I then tried Tea Tree oil. Would apply with qtip several times a day. I tried to put a bandaid on with the oil, but the oil would just melt the adheshive. In two weeks my wart was gone and never came back. Since then I have tried it on several relatives with the same great result. I am now trying on my sons acne and it seems to be working with no side effects or scaring."

[YEA] 03/11/2007: Sue from Prince George, Canada writes: "I tried putting Tea Tree oil directly on my face for my acne and blackheads. I've tried almost every single product out there and this is the only one that works. After washing and lotioning, I apply a few dabs on the pimple or if it's a case of blackheads, I apply a small layer all over. It tingles and feels like a cool breeze. It really works. Mixed with my lotion, it doesn't dry out my skin! Some people are allergic, so try it on a small bit of your arm first and wait a bit. It works awesome for body acne too, you can get it in a shampoo and it cleanses your head and body while you're at it. Mix it with a little bit of jojoba oil and lemon oil. It cleanses and moisturizes."
