Chia seed is the great regulator of all time! It helped with my constipation, as well as my friend's chronic diarrhea.

Blood Sugar

Chia seeds have mostly fiber in them and fiber definitely lowers blood sugar. Each tablespoon has 5 grams fiber (soluble). I've been incorporating a lot of fiber in my diet (Chia, Ground Flaxseed, etc.) and finally my blood glucose has dropped dramatically. Between my diet and added fiber from supplements (about 40-50 grams) total for the day, I'm extremely impressed with the results!!!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hi ive been using psyllium husk fiber (1 big table spoon) every night for the past year mixed with yogourt its delicious this way. Its been helping me in losing wait (12 pounds in 2 weeks plus 40 min to 1 hour of walking every day )other benifits included no more gas nor bloating during the day. But my main concern is whenever I stop taking psyllium husk fiber it seems my bowels aren't working as they should, very slow bowel movement (going to the washroom evry 2nd day and whatever comes out is so small (size of a pencil in width) not normal. So the intestines really do get used to psyllium fibre. It took me 2 weeks to have regular bowel movement again, after stopping the fiber. My mom has also been using it for a bit longer than me and she said it does the same thing when you stop using the fiber. Its too bad, I'll just find fibers elsewhere cause I do not want my intestines to stop working or become lazy. And tha'ts what I'm feeling whenever I stop using psyllium.

Hemorrhoids

I have protruding hems that flare up after using the restroom. I tried ACV and Witch Hazel but got no relieve. Did receive partial relieve by drinking cranberry juice with ginger added to it. However, have now found total relieve by taking fiber capsules (no not Metamucel). I found them at the Health/Nutrition store. The brand is Yerba Prima and each capsule is 625 mg. I take 2 3 times a day (along with each meal) and drink at least 8 oz. of some type of liquid. I've had this problem for at least 12 years and I'm overjoyed.

Hemorrhoids

Clear soluble fiber.

I had hemorrhoids after childbirth and while witch hazel helped with some of the pain and itching, it didn't really cure them.

For a different health concern, I started taking a product that is advertised as "clear soluble fiber" or "non-thickening fiber". Insoluble fiber can dry out your stool, which can irritate hemorrhoids; soluble fiber makes the stool easier to pass, which (I believe) allows the hemorrhoids to heal.

This even worked for one of my cats! I gave him 1/2 a teaspoon in his water bowl every 3-4 days, and he never noticed because it doesn't have any flavor or texture when dissolved in water. In a few days he was better, and I continued to add it to his water for prevention.

Diverticulitis

I had an acute diverticulitis in 2004 and was admitted to ICU for 3 days while teaching at Baldwin Wallace College in a Summer music camp 2 hours away from home. I could have died if a colleague didn't find me fainted with shock from losing so much blood (5 bags of blood transfusion) in ladies restroom.

I was lucky the doctor only cut many polyps along my colon and didn't perform surgery on me, but seriously warned me if this happens again, he would cut my colon out!! Fearfully I came home and watch my fiber intake on a daily basis. Make sure we all take sufficient fiber everyday, but watch the liquid intake as well to prevent the fiber from getting stuck in your intestines! Fiber, fiber, tasteless fiber, you are my lifesaver!!
