If I might add a post for the theory of BHT's effectiveness. First, I have never been diagnosed w/ Hepatitis nor liver disease BUT I have good circumstantial evidence of Liver dysfunction which could very likely include Toxic or Autoimmune H, Primary Billary Cirrhosis, Fatty Infiltration. Only a few days of 250mg BHT I experienced noticeable overall improvement in health condition, but it seemed to kinda flatline at this as no more improvement was noted 2 or 3 wks latter... Until one day I developed a headache (which I usually associate w/ a dominance of whatever kind or kinds of pathogen that would be circulating in the blood). Well I had discontinued BHT for maybe 4, 5 days prior to the headache. Instead of the usual amping up of the antimicrobial herbs, I decided on 500mg BHT (at day 2 of headache) and got relief instantly. Given the complexity of my condition, there's certainly too much to properly unravel here to draw any valid conclusions; but previous antiviral herbs, lysine and sometimes added Colloidal Silver strongly suggest viral involvement (which is why I decided to try BHT to begin with). The rub is the "immediate" relief of the probable viral induced headache; which would suggest that BHT is possibly directly toxic to viruses. The name as well as the smell of this compound would also agree to this.

This possibility needs to be put on the "watch" tag of this biochem. Anyone with any input please post so we can learn more.

Hello Oscar, my name is Karin. I am the wife of Paul from Germany / Otterndorf. After my husband has done such a great experience with BHT, I wanted to try it. I have genital herpes for about 30 years, the last 5 years I had an outbreak every two weeks, that was really cruel. I notice it every time, just before it breaks, I feel a burning sensation in the legs and partly in the face.

When it started again last week, I took the first 3 days of BHT 500mg twice daily on an empty stomach. I usually do not believe in miracles, but for me is probably a miracle happened - the herpes outbreak has not occurred. Additionally stops I feel as good as never before.

I will now continue with BHT-treatment with preventive 1x daily 250mg. Thanks again for your excellent work. All love from Germany, Karin

Dear Karin and Paul from Otterndorf Germany, It is a pleasure to hear from both of you. Yes, this BHT stuff really does work. It is not a miracle but is a blessing. The only sad thing is that more people do NOT know about it. With your help [ feedback ], and that of others we ARE changing that. Thank you so very much for your feedback, ...Oscar

A new Yahoo website has been created for people who wish to discuss the use of BHT [ butylated hydroxytoluene ] as a treatment for hepatitis C and other viral diseases. Any and all who wish to discuss this subject are hereby informed that: BHT [ butylated hydroxytoluene ] is NOT an approved treatment for hepatitis C or any other disease. BHT is approved as a food preservative only and nothing else. Here is a link to that website: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BHTcures/

I, Oscar, am a member of this group. This group will provide a forum for us to discuss the use of BHT as an alternative treatment for lipid coated viral diseases. That is the focus of this group....Oscar

Hello Oscar, after a month of BHT-treatment I have received the latest upgrade of my blood test results. I got my viral load results today and while not cleared I am improved.

Here are my recent results from 03.14.2012 followed by the prior results:

14th March 2012

Viral load: 1, 23 million

AST 50

ALT 54

10th January 2012

Viral load: 2, 3 million

AST 65,

ALT 55

I am really happy. I still feel very good, absolutely no side effects. Currently I take 3 x 250mg daily BHT. Maybe I will increasing the dose from 3 x 250mg BHT to 4x 2 50mg BHT. You may have a few suggestions to reduce the viral load even more?

With best regards

Paul

I am amazed---someone else who thinks that BHT is a good antioxidant---it has been shot to pieces due to the overloading of it during the 60's through 80's but it is a good antioxidant---the things naturally similar are rosemary and sage each has the same potent effect of BHT or BHA which are amazing at keeping fats from oxidizing in the system--Today with all the BS on omega 3's you would need to take either bha or bht or rosemary essential oil or sage essential oil with them in order to offset the oxidation of thes omega 3 fats--no one is telling anybody this and in fact adding high doses of vitamin D with these omega 3' will cause arterial blockage of calcium and other deposits--so do not overload the omea 3's and in fact should be a 2:1 6-3 and if you are using omegas then make them walnut and add bht or bha or rosemary essential oils to this--good article

Great posting Bill, I was especially happy to see your remarks about BHT occuring naturally in phytoplankton and other organisms. That was one of the reasons most often given as to why BHT was supposed to be so bad for you. So, IN FACT, BHT is no more UNNATURAL, than say milk thistle extract or any of the other plant extracts. Yes it can be extracted from certain plants. But, if you wish to use BHT now, synthetic BHT is exactly the same compound as found in the plant extracts. There is NO difference. A known compound is a known compound and it makes NO difference whether it is produced by a plant or synthetically....Oscar

Dear Mario from Montreal Canada, I so very much appreciate your feedback and look forward to your future test results. These blood test results are so very important. It is by way of such feedback that the most effective means of administering BHT can be established, including what is an effective and safe dosage for most people.

Your attention to detail is important and appreciated. You have established a baseline as to liver function tests at: AST= 71 and ALT=111 as of 12-1-2011. Though these readings are somewhat elevated they are in the mildly elevated range as discussed here: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/liver_blood_tests/page3_em.htm

Now: You began a 230mg of BHT taken 3 times per day. You did not mention any adverse side effects. This is of course very good. And you began this treatment on 1-18-2012. Most, though by no means all people tolerate such a dosage well with no side effects. Let me just say that if you do start experiencing adverse effects I do suggest lowering that dosage. I also do think it is a good idea to include taking 1 or 2 tablespoons of olive oil in your diet taken seperately from the BHT, NOT at the same time. This is to insure an adequate source of high quality lipids to protect against adverse side effects associated with the use of BHT. Wait at least one hour before or after taking the BHT. Hey, I expect you are an Italian and the health benefits of olive oil are well known, especially amongst the Italians. You also noted that you are infected with HCV type 1a. Your attention to detail is very important and much appreciated. Ciao, ...Oscar

Dear Mario, Good hearing from you. I want you to know that: Your initial response to the BHT treatments indicate the treatment is working. That darkened urine is one of the well known symptoms of liver failure. So, if your urine is returning to normal with the use of BHT, that is a very good indication that the treatment is working. Also, that disappearance of a herpes eruption is NOT a coincidence. BHT is a well known treatment for all herpes viruses. And, I am very glad to know you have no side effects. That is always my first concern with people trying this treatment: If they have side effects or not. Most people do NOT, but some do.

It does take some time as I have explained many times now for anyone to get well with this treatment. A few weeks to a few months depending on how infected and damaged a person`s liver is to begin with for one thing. Again: BHT can NOT uninfect an infected liver cell. What it does do is to prevent any unifected liver cells from becoming infected by destroying the viral particles in the blood and other intercellular fluids. And like I have said: EVERY liver cell that makes up a person`s liver is a new cell about every year or so.

So: if no new cells become infected a true cure eventually does occur. This does take years of daily dosing with BHT and I am sure it varies from person to person. This is because the BHT is NOT 100% effective in destroying all the viral particles. Some of these viral particles will remain intact and go on to infect other liver cells. But as time goes by with daily dosing with BHT: Less and less of the liver cells are infected and more and more of them are uninfected. But you can live a perfectly normal and healthy life as this process goes on once enough of your liver is healthy and functioning adequately. So, there is no big hurry. I say that because you can definately take too much BHT in hopes of getting truly cured more quickly. People need to find a dose that is both safe and effective and this dose does vary from person to person.

So: You are off to or with a good start: You found a dose that is effective and is not causing adverse effects. Keep the forum and me updated with your progress. Ciao, ...Oscar

Dear Dave from Wayne NJ, Thank you so very much for your instructive feedback. Look, this BHT really does work as you are finding out for yourself. Now the reason I advised thin people to include 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil in their diets was because many of these thin people have reported negative side effects: most often some nervous condition and BHT does interact with lipids, and all neurons are sheathed with lipids.

But, from your statement: You were NOT experiencing any such side effects and was responding very well to the BHT treatments prior to adding the olive oil to your diet. So for you: Go back to taking the BHT without the olive oil in your diet until and unless you start experiencing any nervous system disorders. And NEVER mix or take the BHT at the same time as olive oil or any other oil. Stick with what works best. It seems to me you do NOT need or desire the addition of olive oil to your diet, at least for now. If you do start experiencing nervous disorders you might want to try one tablespoon of olive oil every other day and see how that works for you.

Now when I was really sick with hepatitis C I did not take any olive oil or any other oil. I was lean but not thin. I weighed about 175 pounds and am about 6 feet tall. The digestion of all fats and oils do require bile salts and other things produced in the liver. This may account for this set back in this your BHT therapy. I do NOT have all the answers for each and every person regarding the use of BHT to treat hepatitis C. Hopefully, with the feedback that you and others are providing we can answer these questions and come up with some meaningful guide lines.

I wish I had reliable answers for each and every person trying this BHT therapy, but I do not at this time. For now and for you I will say go back to what was working very well for you and stop taking the olive oil at least for now and let us see how that works for you. You are getting well and the BHT therapy is working. We just need to establish and stick with what works best for you. You may very well wish to include some olive oil in your diet as your liver function improves and you may already be there. I do NOT know.

Do not get overly concerned about some minor set back. You tolerate the BHT very well and it is working for you. And please: keep me and this forum updated as to your progress along with any setbacks or problems you may experience. This is the ONLY way there is to answer these questions, with feedback.

So, for now: If no adverse side effects are experienced with the use of BHT I advise against the addition of any sort oil to a person`s diet in the first 2 months of treatment because all fats and oils do put an additional demand on the liver. I do NOT mean a person should avoid all fats and oils. A healthy source of lipids is essential to a healthy diet. Simply do NOT add that extra tablespoon of olive oil if and only if no previous nervous condition developes with the use of BHT. I do NOT have all the answers. You have to find out what works best for you....Oscar

Dear Oscar and everyone,

Today marks 34 days of twice a day 350mg BHT for me. Last fall I was very sick. My doctor had blood work done to see just how bad things were in mid October. My viral load, which has always been high, was 23,000,000!! The highest it had been before was 12,000,000 or so. My ALT and AST were always just above normal but last October were AST 203, ALT 155.

Unfortunately it took until late December to discover this web site (thanks to my wife) and Oscar's posts on BHT. I started taking the BHT January 6th, 2012. That is not long ago. I had blood work done February 6th and got the results today. I know that Hep C viral loads fluctuate and my new numbers my reflect some fluctuation but, my new viral load as of Monday this week is 5,000,000. Seems to be quite a drop to be only a fluctuation. My Doctor is apprehensive but supportive. AST and ALT were not as impressive at 132 and 128 but encouraging enough.

I am convinced this is working. I seem to get the best results physically when I do not add other supplements to my daily routine. I have been on Prevacid for three years and find that I don't need it much any more. I have taken one pill every 6 or so days for the last three weeks. Coincidence? I don't know.

There are days when my urine is a little dark and my stools are not entirely normal day to day but the difference from last fall to now, after one month of BHT, is thrilling. We bought 9 bottles with a 50 day supply in each and are in it for the long haul. I encourage anyone who knows someone with hepC to expose them to this site and Oscar's work. I personally cannot thank him enough.

God bless, Dave

Dear Dave from Wayne, NJ, Thank you for this important update. It is only with such feedback as yours that the methodology of BHT as a teatment for hepatitis C can be worked out. So, again I thank you.

Now those are impressive numbers, the sort of response that indicates the BHT treatment is working and is similar to what some of the others I discussed in the past have experienced including myself. Your viral load is less than 1/4 th of what it was prior to the BHT treatments and there is some small improvement in liver function in about one month of the BHT treatments. Those are very impressive results from a person who had a very a very infected liver with idications that the infection was getting far worse rapidly. You have turned all that around and are now showing dramatic improvement with the BHT treatment in only one month.

As I have said many times now it takes longer for some than others to get to that NO VIRUS DETECTED status. In my opinion your initial response is a very good one considering everything. Just keep doing what you are. You are winning this battle. Your liver is healing itself with the use of BHT. This BHT stuff realy does work.

Dave, it is very important that you keep this forum upated regarding your progress with the use of BHT as a treatment for hepatitis C. There is NO other big forum taking a serious interest in this. But there is a Yahoo discussion group about all this recently started by Victoria, a member of this forum and I am a member of that group and one of the moderators of that forum. I do encourage you to join that discussion group. Victoria and me are trying to do what we can to promote this life saving information along with this forum`s efforts. Your participation in that forum would be helpful. Here is a link to that Yahoo discussion group if you choose to join it: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BHTcures/

Now, it is not our intention to in any way compete with THE CONTACT EARTH CLINIC, but rather provide a discussion group for those using the BHT treatment to compare notes and such. The CONTACT EARTH CLINIC is the big forum and by all means report your progress here in THIS forum first and foremost. But your participation in this discussion group would be appreciated....Oscar

I was diagnosed with Hep C and HPV. The HPV turned into cancer and I had it surgically remove. My girl found info on BHT used as an antiviral and we started taking it together as she now has the HPV virus with the warts as well. We both started a regimen of BHT, started 1/8/12 taking 350 mg daily and slowly increasing the dosage to 700 mg twice daily. It has been a little over 1 month now and her urine has turned dark so we are cutting back to only 350 mg twice daily.

We have also been taking Milk Thistle to protect the liver as well as L-lysine, astragalus, alpha lipoic acid , grape seed extract, 1000mg of Vit E, 3000 mg of Vit C, 1000mg. Vit D-3, whey protein mix with amino acids added, olive leaf, turmeric or curcumin and recently we added di-indolymethane(DIM) which has shown to totally cure Stage 3 cervical cancer which my girl is concerned about. We eat extremely healthy (lots of colorful veggies and minimal amounts of lean meats).

I tried to discuss this regimen with my Dr. who wants to start me on interferon treatment for the Hep C in June after my follow up with the cancer surgeon. I am not sure that I am interested in the interferon as I have read about the possible side effects, however apparently it can cure the body of the Hep C with no antibodies showing in final testing. My Dr. said we might as well drink Clorox if we were going to take BHT. How can I find a Dr. who will support our choice to use BHT and provide the necessary blood work to see if it is working. My girl said that it appears that one of the warts ( on the outside ) seems to be gone, but still has several just inside the vagina. We hope that we are providing our bodies with an appropriate regimen however would appreciate any input and references for how to locate a Dr. who would support our choices.

Dear Denis from State College Penn. , My immediate response is: Easy does it here. From the feedback available one 350mg capsule of BHT taken twice a day is the MOST or maximum dose for average size adults. Taking more is NOT better. Also, NEVER take BHT with, at the same time as, ANY other supplement. BHT needs to be taken seperately and on an empty stomach with water only.

I understand you two are freaked out. You have to use self control here. Just calm down, you CAN do that. Now, this mixing of everything you have read of, about together is NOT a good way to go.

Also, you did mention a doctor who wants to prescribe one of the interferon treatments. There are some new drugs that have been added to the interferon plus ribaviron treatment with significant improvement indicated.

Have you tried any of the interferon plus treatments at this time ? If so what were the results ?

I am wary of these treatments but they do work for many people.

For right now: lower the dosage of BHT to no more than 350mg of BHT taken twice a day and see if any improvement is shown in the liver function tests and the viral load counts.

Regarding the other supplements: Do NOT mega dose on any of them.

BHT seems to work very well all by itself if taken in the dosages I have discussed. I am trying to be helpful. If you choose to continue the BHT treatments: Lower the dosge to no more than 350mg of BHT taken twice a day and do not mega dose on any other supplement for at least 3 weeks and see if there is some improvement or not. It seems to me you are mega dosing on those vitamins you stated.

From my experience and the growing feedback available: The BHT works very well by itself. Also that megadosing with vitamins and other supplements does NOT help at all while using the BHT treatment. Please do read what Dave from New Jersy has to say and fatcha brute and january and Gina and Victori and toad and Teru and me. All of us had dramatic improvement with NO megadosing with anything. Dear Rave from LA, For me, Oscar: The BHT did work for Hepatitis B as it also did for hepatitis C. And, from the feedback available: A gulp of water is what works best to wash the BHT down with. The dosages used vary for different people. At this time: 350mg taken twice a day is the MAXIMUM dosage recommended. Many if not most people are achieving very good results with less than 350mg taken twice a day. That is with water on an empty stomach.

I now test negative for HBV and HCV as of 2006 with the antibodies test. It is as if I was never exposed to both of those viral diseases. Up until at least 1998 I tested positive for both. I do recommend joining the BHT CURES GROUP here to stay up to date on all of the different people`s reports: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BHTcures/

Also, for most people: A hepatitis B infection is quite different than a HCV infection. The usual pattern for HBV is that you get sick within a week or so and either survive it or you do not. Most people do survive. With hepatitis C you get soewhat sick soon, but recover. And then many years later as the virus eats away at your liver you get chronically and progressively sicker. Many people never do get chronically ill with HCV and many do. They are two very different diseases....Oscar

Dear Rave from LA, I wish to clear up a mistake I made. Some people do develope chronic hepatitis B and it can lead to the same problems hepatitis C does. Now most people handle the hepatitis B much better than the HCV infection. Wikipedia says fully one third of all people have had hepatitis B at some point in thier lives.

The virons or viral particles are similar in structure to the HCV virons. Both have a coating made up of a bilayer of lipids with certain protein structures mixed in amongst that bilayer of lipids.

All I can say with certainty is that BHT cured me of both infections. I now test negative for both HCV and HBV using the antibodies test. That took at least two years of daily dosing with BHT for me. Now Mike [ twodragunns ] achieved a negative using the antibodies test in about 6 months for hepatitis C. That amazed even me. You can read what Mike has to say here:

[YEA] 05/27/2012: Twodragunns from London, Ontario, Canada replies: "I've been doing 2 x 250 mg daily of BHT with a splash of water on an empty stomach since Feb 1, 2012 and after 1 month all my symptoms of chronic Hep C had completely disappeared. I've just ordered 3 x 350 mg bottles from Vitamin Research Products and plan to up my dosage to 2 x 350 a day as soon as I recieve my BHT order.

I can't believe how good I feel these days and I have to thank Oscar for sharing this invaluable information with everybody that will listen and I'm sure BHT is the answer for many. I failed tx with Ribiviron daily and Peginterferon 1 injection per week back in 2008 and was a non responder after 4 months. I have genotype 1a which is very resistant to conventional therapies and had all the classic symtoms, like brain fog, joint aches and low energy, but after 4 weeks of BHT, "I feel like kid again".

I just had a blood test (5 vials taken) and they're measuring my viral load as well as all the other measures they do. I will post the results in late June after I see my MD and get the results. To all the na sayers and crap talkers that give Oscar a hard time about the validity of this treatment, "get a life and stop with the B. S. Posts that are accusing Oscar of spreading false information about this very effective treatment". I can tell it's working Oscar because all my symptoms disappeared and it's been 4 months now and I feel great!! I'm out golfing everyday (which I thought I'd never get to do again) and I'm playing very well!

Thanks again to Oscar from the bottom of my big old heart for discovering and sharing with us all this treatment that seems to be helping very many folks that have either failed conventional tx or not wanted to do this because of the catastrophic side effects. I'm going to keep posting here about my recovery from this chronic disorder and provide my medical test results as well.

kindest regards, Mike from London, Ontario, Canada"

And follow up here from Mike:

[YEA] 06/26/2012: "Got the best news I could ever ask for today, my bloodwork results are in and I no longer have any Hep C antibodies in my blood and my liver function levels are all normal. Now this is after failing conventional therapies back in 2008 and almost losing all hope of ever clearing this dreaded virus. I feel fantastic and I have to admit that BHT absolutely cures Hep C type 1a geno types when all else fails and it does it for pennies.

Anybody that comes across this post, you owe it to yourself to try this wonderful substance that has given me and so many others back our lives after thinking all was lost!! BHT works!! Thank you once again Oscar for saving me and many others by sharing BHT therapy with the masses. Cheers! "

And Mike again here with the short list of vitamins he uses:

07/30/2012: Twodragunns from London, Ontario, Canada replies: "I only take vitamin B-12 and a multi vitamin with my BHT..... I also do 20 mg of Rabeprazole for acid reflux and I was on Hydromorph Contin, but have stopped it since June 1, 2012.

I'm feeling very well Oscar and last blood work of May 16, 2012 shows me as undetectable and I had the dreaded genotype 1a!!"

Mike achieved these results using one 250mg capsule of BHT twice a day=700mg of BHT per day. Please do read what Mike has to say. He has achieved the very best results of anyone I am aware of. Mike`s statements are posted here at the EARTH CLINIC. My advice is to do what Mike did. Seems at least worth a try. And I always tell people trying the BHT treatment to lower the dosage used if adverse effects are experienced....Oscar

Dear Denise, This issue about the possible adverse effect of BHT on nerve sheathing has come up previously. I do NOT know with any certainty if this is a serious issue or not. There are a number of people using the BHT treatment who have neuropathy to some degree. Now they had the neurapathy before ever taking BHT. My advise is to start with low dosages of BHT and see how that effects you. You can split these capsules and pour out say one half the contents and take only half a capsule per day and see if any adverse effects develope. People who wish to try this treatment have to find a dose they are comfortable with. Most people have no adverse effects with the lower dosages. 250mg per day or less. Also the B vitamins seem to help those with neuropathy. Vitamin B-12 especially so. I do NOT have all the answers. Most people respond very well to this treatment if they are careful about dosing. If adverse effects develope LOWER the dosage used....Oscar

BHT's ability to effectively treat lipid coated viruses which include: hepatatitis C and B, all the herpes viruuses and the AIDS virus has been being reported since 1975. A lot has been published about it since then in different scientific publications including the journal SCIENCE. This stuff works. I self treated for hepatitis C back in 1997 using daily doses of 200mg per day with water on an empty stomach. I went from being symptomatic [ sick with jaundice, yellowed eyes, darkened urine, stomach pain, trouble digesting food and such to being well and free of any viral load in my blood in about 4 weeks. Like I said, this BHT stuff works and fast. I was tested and retested to confirm I had hepatitis C and was told I definately had it. Before I was ever prescibed any medication I began taking BHT and like I said I was testing negative using the hepatitis C RNA test within 4 weeks and was well. I never had any side effects. I still take it to keep from catching any of the lipid coated viruses. What BHT can treat it will prevent infection of.

Also, BHT is the most powerful anti-oxident and free radical scavenger out there as far as I know. That is not just my opinion. Dr. Denham Harman, the father of the free radical concept of aging did extensive tests with mice being dosed with BHT and achieved an up to 50% increase in the average life span of mice dosed with BHT. Some of his critics said all he was doing was preventing the mice from getting CANCER and that accounted for the life span increase. Well, if that is ALL he was doing I would say THAT is quite important in and of itself....Oscar

For the Record, I am still taking 350 Mg twice a day and will do so for at least 5 months to be sure all the virus that hides out in the liver are destroyed.

I take BHT and St John's wart together along with NAC and Sam-e along with a multi for men.

Durring the time when my Viral load was 2 million I took the BHT [350 mg] up to 6 times a day which did give me a bit of a problem with lower GI isues .

I believe that you must Saturate your system with BHT ahd keep the titration levels in your blood high for at least 4 to 6 weeks to kill the virus and get SVR. [Sustained Viral Responce] [dead virus]

I also believe that you should dose between meals and take the BHT with enough fluid so it is completely absorbed into the blood stream for the best results. BHT should kill the Hep C virus in almost every case if it is used for long enough and in a high enough dose

Oscar, Thank you for sharing this powerful info. With ALL of us. I purchased my BHT and I am currently taking it about 5 days now. I was diagnosed with Hep C in 2006. After this I decided to visit my herbalist and started taking milk thistle and other supplements but up until recently I started to feel sick as if my condition needed medical attention ASAP! I was experiening liver pain, joint , foggy memory, no motivation to get up in the mornings.. I was desperate, Luckily I came across this forum. I was impressed with the possitive feedbacks etc.. I decided to try it. I am going to the doctors to get blood work done this week. I was keep you posted. Now that I am taking the BHT I no longer have the liver pain and best of all I don't have ANY side effects from BHT 2 x a day 350mg. I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me and I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. This is indeed a blessing. Thank you!

Why hasn't anyone spoke up about the BHT cure for ALL lipid-enveloped viruses which most are deadly. HIV and Covid-19 are both lipid-enveloped!!! I mean you can kill off the 5 most deadly diseases with one simple cure! ... Hepatitis (A through E), Coronavirus family, HIV, Herpes, annual flu, etc. Just take BHT! It won't help kill the non-lipid viruses, but most of the ugly viruses are fatty viruses. I'm surprised that this isn't an editor's choice. There really hasn't been a point that it can help cure AIDS/HIV and Covid-19! It blows my mind.

BHT Brands to Avoid
Posted by Henrietta (Houston) on 10/06/2016

I asked about cellulose one time and as I recall, it is what is used to make vegetarian gelatin capsules (as in taking powdered herbs, etc in capsule form). The alternative form would be traditional natural bovine gelatin which is made from boiled animal bones, which are much healthier. I'm not totally 100% positive I remember that correctly but I did ask a pharmacist and that's what I remember and understood since I learned about the process in a nutritional course. Many times I open the vegetarian capsules which have more of a harder plastic like feeling than bovine and stir the contents into juice. Sad to see the older healthier methods outdated in favor of a cheaper to made product.

HPV
Posted by Elle (Chicago, Illinois) on 08/29/2015

Hi Oscar,

I've recently been diagnosed with a strain of HPV that causes genital warts. I've received TCA treatments for both external and vaginal warts: three for external (around the vagina), one for vaginal (opening/internal).

So far, the external warts have fallen off, healed, and so far, none have reappeared. As for the vaginal warts, some came out, but deeper in the vagina, others did not. After about 24-48 hours, I noticed they reappeared again in the spots they'd come out at, only in the vagina.

I'm making sure to document my progress, or lack there of, and will make another post in about a month.

So far, I am in DAY THREE of my BHT treatment and am taking one dose of 250mg in the morning on an empty stomach with water. I am 5'1" and approx. 118lbs.

I started the BHT treatment the day after I received my last TCA treatment, and thus far, the vaginal warts have returned, but the external vaginal warts have not (pray for me, fingers crossed! )

I've also ordered a higher grade of BHT (because my "wholesale" BHT is giving me a bit of dry mouth) that should be here tomorrow. That will be a bottle of 500 capsules with 350mg/capsule.

It saddens me that the vaginal warts have reappeared since starting the BHT treatment and it makes me scared that this treatment may not work for me, but I also recognize that it is only Day No. 3 and I should probably up the dose and start taking a higher grade...

I'd love to get a bit of feedback from you, as I am scared out of my mind!

Thank you, Elle

Thank you for posting such specific and scientific information! I was just recently diagnosed with herpes 2. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I figured I would check out as many treatment options as possible and make the best of the situation.

I haven't taken Valtrax yet, but I did get a prescription for it. Do you know of others with my condition that have taken BHT? If so, do they still have outbreaks if they were taking it daily? And finally would you consider BHT to be safer than Valtrax?

Dear Rsw [ Uniontown, Ohio ]. Thank you for responding. The manufacture`s recommended dosage does seem a good way to go with that what is a mixture. 600mg of monolaurin with 7.5mg of inosine. Is this a tablet or an oil filled capsule ?There must of been a reason for combing the two. I am totally new to this monolaurin stuff.

Again, the manufacturer`s recommended dosage seems a very good place to start. Thank you for helping out with this one Rsw, ...Oscar

Hepatic Cirrhosis
Posted by Ugo (Italy) on 04/29/2015

To Oscar Syracuse, New York

Dear Oscar,

This is my first post as I found this web site about one month ago. I am a doctor of 60 years. In my youth I contracted the Hepatitis B, completely solved. In the 1975, I contracted the Hepatitis C genotype 1b. From there, I made routine examinations, always with borderline results, except Gamma GT which was double norm value.

In these last months, after 2 biopsies, I was been diagnosted Hepatic Cirrosis 4th stage; I made many echographies with contrast and many TAC with contrast: hepatocellular carcynoma was diagnosted. One month ago, surgical procedure TACE was applied. I am waiting for the next TAC control at the end of April.

At the moment I do not follow any theraphy for treatment of this disease.

Note that I am using drugs for depressive insomnia (Gabapentin twice a day, Mirtazapin once a day, Citalopram 20mg once a day day, Lormetazepam once per day).

I read all your answers about BHT treatment. I would like to start the BHT treatment for myself with increasing dosage with the following steps:

  • 1th day 50mg, once a day
  • 2nd day 100mg, once a day
  • 3rd day 150mg, once a day
  • 4rd day 200mg, once a day
  • From 5 to 14 day, 250mg, once a day
  • 15th day 300mg, once a day
  • From 16th day, for 2 weeks, 350mg, once a day

At the end of the previous schedule, it starts a new session for upgrading the therapy by increasing the last dose with a second dose with the following schema:

  • 1th day 50mg
  • 2nd day 100mg
  • 3rd day 150mg
  • 4rd day 200mg
  • From 5 to 14 day, 250mg
  • 15th day 300mg
  • From 16th day, for 2 weeks, 350mg.

So, at the end of the 2.nd month, in absence of adverse effects, I will have a therapy of 350mg twice a day, that I plan to continue indefinitely.

Of course, the therapy will be stopped, or reduced, in case of any adverse effect. I know that the BHT therapy has to be taken at empty stomach and far away (2-3 hours) from foods and drugs. At the moment, I still follow a therapy for treating Hepatitis C, Cirrosis and cancer: Nattochinase, Serrapeptase, Acid alphalipoic, Ldnaltrexone 4.5mg, Selenium, Lipid Monolaurin, anticarcinoma Budwitt diet (based on faxseed oil and chottage cheese).

I would like to know if my therapy BHT plan is correct or not. Thank you for your advices Sincerely regards Ugo

Hepatic Cirrhosis

Dear Ugo from Italy: You state that you are a doctor. For that reason I do assume you are up on the newly available treatments for hepatitis C. Have you tried said treatments or not ?

Also, from what you stated you are in the advanced stages of cirrhosis along with indications of liver cancer. Is this true or not ?

Now please do NOT get discouraged. I need to know all that you are up against.

The BHT regime you outlined is a VERY good one. It carefully ramps up the dosage of BHT with the necessary attention to BHT`s effect on or for you.

The good news is BHT has worked for people with advanced stages of cirrhosis. Also: BHT in the dosages we are discussing showed a dramatic lifespan increase in mice prone to cancer. See Dr. Denham Harman`s studies about that. This is because BHT is a well documented so called scavenger of free radicals and reactive oxygen species. A simple but important example is the hydroxyl free radical [ . OH ]. BHT readily donates a hydrogen atom to [ .OH ] . [ .OH ] + [ .H ] does = [ H-O-H ]. WATER. The same is true for the free radical [ .CH3 ] + [ .H ] does = [ CH4 ] METHANE. A stable and relatively nonreactive molecule.

BHT is about 320 times more effective as a hydrogen atom donator as is say vitamin E. This is a result of those tightly packed tert-butyl groups. BHT has two said tert-butyl groups. The torque and bending of those hydrogen atoms on those tert-butyl groups weakens the carbon atom to hydrogen atom bonds on those hydrogen atoms.

The overall effect of all that is that BHT very much enhances a person`s ability to cope with said free radicals and Reactive Oxygen Species.

The reason BHT does destroy lipid coated viruses is all about BHT`s size and lipophilic makeup. We are really talking about the metabolites of BHT, the altered compounds that enter the bloodstream.

Simply stated: The metabolites of BHT are somewhat water soluble but still highly lipophilic.

Please stay in touch with this forum whatever happens. I do NOT know what else I can say. Of course I hope for the best for you with or without BHT....Oscar

Dear Oscar, thank you for your answer.

I confirm my diagnosis of Hepatic Cirrosis 4th stage with livel cancer.

One month ago the cancer was treated with Transarterial embolization (TAE) and the next echography gave no clear results about the real effects of the procedure. I am waiting for a TAC control (in the next weeks).

In this situation I have to treat the Cirrosis and the cancer.

As I told you in my first post, I plan to use the BHT treatment for the cirrosis and other drugs/substances for the cancer.

What I would like to know is their compatibility with the BHT therapy. I remind you the list:

  • nattochinase
  • serrapeptase
  • alpha lipoic acid
  • ld naltrexone 4,5mg
  • selenium
  • lipid monolaurin
  • Budwig diet (flaxseed oil and chottage cheese)

Thanks!

Ugo

Hepatic Cirrhosis
Posted by Oscar (Syracuse, New York) on 05/03/2015

Dear Ugo [ Italy ], I have thought about you a lot since I last responded to you. I am concerned that the two doses of 350mg of BHT per day may be too much. Weight and age are important. The less you weigh and the older you are: The more careful you need to be with taking BHT.

Careful monitoring of your liver function tests should provide meaningful answers as too how much BHT you should be taking.

You discussed carefully ramping up your dosage of BHT. I do suggest at whatever dosage of BHT you are taking be leveled out at whatever dose you are taking once your liver function tests start to get worse if they do. Two 350mg of BHT does seem like too much unless you weigh more than 200 pounds.

I weighed about 170 pounds when I successfully treated myself for hepatitis C. I was only using TWO 200mg capsules of BHT at the most. So that is 400mg of BHT per day. I was close to 48 years old at that time. When I started the treatment I was 47 but became 48 in a few months of starting the BHT treatment.

Careful monitoring of your liver function is required for successful treatment for people in advanced stages of liver disease as you are.

Now you are a doctor and I do expect you understand what I am talking about. So again: If at any given dosage of BHT your liver function test results get worse, LOWER THE DOSAGE OF BHT TAKEN.

Look, I am very much hoping for the best for you with this BHT treatment. And careful dosing with those all important liver function tests is the ONLY way to establish what is the correct dosage for YOU.

Now you asked me about the advisability of 7 different compounds. From the feedback available: the selenium, and monolaurin should work fine taken in reasonable dosages. The others I really do not know about.

All I have to work with is the feedback available. NO one has ever done ANY clinical research as to what works with the BHT treatment and that which does not work well with BHT.

On a positive note: There was and is an: "S. from Sacramento" who did have stage 4 liver damage and also seemed to have liver cancer as posted in this forum. S was seeing an ONCOLOGIST [ CANCER DOCTOR ] and had very good results with the BHT treatment.

S. from Sacramento is the closest case history of the use of BHT to treat hepatitis C, I know of as to your situation.

This case history is there in the EARTH CLINIC`s archives SOMEWHERE. I will try and find it and if I do find it post a follow up to this response.

Also Ugo, Please never confuse me as being a Medical Doctor. I am NOT an MD or anything close to being one....Oscar

Dear Oscar,

I am writing after many months, because in this period I performed antiviral treatment Harvoni (Ledipasvir 90mg / 400mg sofosbuvir), 1 cp in the morning for six months.

Such treatment has led to the complete eradication of the virus and the improvement of all liver life parameters. Examinations were performed immediately after the end of the treatment, after one month and after two months; the same examinations are programmed after 6 months and after one year, as long as nothing happens again.

I will have also ultrasound scans with contrast, CT or MR with contrast. Ultrasounds every month, the CT or MR according to the ultrasound findings.

I did not start yet the treatment with BHT, as you suggested, but I plan to begin it in next days and after your advices.

Now I have some important questions concerning the hepatic cirrhosis which appeared several years after the infection of Hepatitis C, cirrhosis that in these last 6 months has got to give initial failure signs with marked edema of lower limbs, but in absence of any involvement with internal cavities.

Moreover, ultrasound examinations revealed the presence of HCC, confirmed by CT and MR with contrast. It was treated, according to the examination results, with 2 consecutive ablations with embolectomy without chemical compound.

This modified TACE, led to a reduction but not to the disappearance of the cancer.

My colleagues proposed a third embolectomy or a chemical ablation with ethanol inoculated into the carcinoma.

Known that there are still many uncertainties about the best action to take, discarding obviously the partial hepatectomy resection because, in the dimension of a debulking surgery, we can not ignore this neoplastic evolution of the hepatic cirrhotic tissue and possible metastases "viciniori" or distant and systemic involvement.

At this point, dear Oscar, I can not ask my colleagues who don't have the holistic, ethnic knowledge to read my illness. I will interpret the situation with the knowledge I have learned from ethnic, naturopathic and holistic medicine.

So I ask you if the BHT, at doses indicated in your protocols, is able to subdue the liver cirrhosis. Moreover I plan to support the BHT therapy with enzymatic treatments: nattokinase, bromelain, and others that were experimentally identified by the official medicine as scavenger, ie forming of progressive, continuous niches into fibrotic cirrogenous tissue, so digested and over time replaced by normal hepatocytes.

At the same time I would like to implement a per-os antineoplastic therapy, according to the following scheme: Paw Paw Cell-Reg (Natures Sunshine), 3 cps twice a day; Sutherlandia OPC, 3 cps 3 times a day; Amla (Phyllanthus Emblica) 1 cap daily, Viscum album European, 2 cps twice a day; Viola Tricolor, 1 cap 2 times a day; Mangosteen Plus, 1 cap daily; Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi), 1 cap twice a day; Cordyceps Sinensis (tonchukso), 1 cap twice a day.

Dear Helens from Australia, I did not know it was a problem for Australians to purchase BHT online. You can try this link:

Also, there are these online retailers:

1. LifeLinks

2. VRP [ Vitamin Research Products ].

Just type in those retailer names + BHT to find links. Then call the telephone numbers provided to find out if they sell to Australia or not. Please do report back with the results. Do they sell BHT to Australians or not ? ...Oscar

Hello Helen [ Australia ]. Well, I am happy to learn there is no problem for Australians purchasing BHT. Now I am not up on this " oil pulling " stuff and have NO opinion on it`s effectiveness.

Now from what wikipedia says about oil pulling you swish the oil of choice around and about your teeth and spit it out, the same as a mouthwash. I do NOT see any problem with that and the use of BHT to treat a hepatitis C or any other viral infection.

I would wait at least one hour after doing this oil pulling treatment before taking the BHT with water only on an empty stomach. You do NOT want to mix BHT with any oil at the time it is ingested. The reason for NOT mixing BHT with any sort of oil is because: When BHT is mixed with any oil when ingested the way in which BHT is digested is very differently than when BHT is taken with water only on an empty stomach.

When BHT is mixed with an oil at the time it is ingested it is encapsulated in so called lipo-proteins . This makes it impossible for the BHT metabolites to penetrate those viral lipid coatings. That is the reason for taking BHT with water only on an empty stomach.

So, I see NO reason why you cannot continue this oil pulling treatment used as I just discussed [ wait that one hour or more ] and then take the BHT with water only on an empty stomach....Oscar

Helen, pulling with coconut oil is a great way to saturate gingival spaces with readily metabolizable fat and strengthen gum health. I use coconut oil to brush my teeth for the same reasons. I see no time constraints for co-use of BHT; the BHT is ingested and the pulling oil is traditionally spit out.

If you know you have an oral viral infection, there is no reason that you cannot use oil with dissolved BHT for pulling. The amount of BHT that would reach your liver from pulling would be very small, so toxicity would be trivial. But the local concentration of BHT in your gums would be higher than achievable by oral BHT consumption.

I think that chewing a tiny amount of BHT without oil and not spitting it out is also capable of raising BHT levels in gum tissues to extreme degree. While the squeeking of the BHT crystals on the teeth can drive some people batty, the fine BHT powder created by chewing mixes with saliva and wedges into gingival spaces to dissolve slowly, for example, while you sleep.

The father of one of my clients had drastic lowering of HepC viral load within weeks of taking BHT. But in his case, his load never went to zero. But he was healthy and happy, playing the best golf of his life. I suspect that his hemochromatosis was a greater health hazard than his HepC.

I'm interested in knowing what adjunctive nutritional or hormone therapies you have tried with the BHT.

Oscar, you are a life saver! Having read your story and your remarkable recovery and the hundreds that has benefited from you rich counsel ...I say thank you.

i was diagnosed with HBV 2012, I've been on milk thistle, carrot juice and lots of leafy greens and veggies and lots of dandelion tea. My enzymes have been significantly low and the viral loads has been less than 1500 over the years.

CONCERN:

  • Very dark brown urine
  • Loss of Muscle mass
  • Digestive challenges
  • Weight Loss:from 80kg in 2012 to 69kg now (underweight)
  • Fibroscan read 8.0 late last year
  • cervical spondylosis

Please I need advice, would you recommend BHT for me?

Many thanks for your prompt response Oscar, I'm a 43years old male with 5'10 ft in height.

It's very unlikely I have other ailment other than HBV as I have blood work done every 3 months to monitor my well being including liver enzymes. My last Fibrosis scan though read 8.0 which may indicates scarring.

I feel good inside of me and still ride average of 50 km cycling weekly The only alarming symptoms is loss of muscle mass and underweight. Which may not be unconnected with digestive challenges.

I can only hope the BHT will be of help. Thanks for your time and kind assistance

Dear Byhisstripes from [ Lagos ], Thank you for replying. I never hear back again from most of the people who ask questions of or to me. Please stay in touch with the EARTH CLINIC and ME by way of the EARTH CLINIC about all this.

On the upside: You are 5 years YOUNGER than I was when I first began using BHT to treat hepatitis C and B back in 1997. Being younger ALWAYS helps. There were and are reports by people who made remarkable recoveries from hepatitis B and C with the BHT treatment as discussed by me. I did have a very damaged liver as I stated.

What is left of my liver is now where my right kidney used to be. " The patient`s liver now resides in the renal fossa " is what a radiologist`s report does state.

So you have a lot going for you as compared to me when I first started my BHT treatment back in 1997. Just so you know: Within ONE MONTH of starting said BHT treatment my" liver function test panel " results were all but one in the NORMAL ranges. Also I tested NEGATIVE in that one month for hepatitis C with the hepatitis C RNA test.

It was years later that I tested NEGATIVE using the Hepatitis C and B antibodies tests. It takes some years to truly CURE one`s self of hepatitis B and or C infections using BHT as discussed. One person did test negative in less than one year, but that is NOT the usual pattern with the ANTIBODIES tests. You can and will be negative with the HEP B and or C RNA tests and still test positive with said antibodies tests.

Those viral load counts are a test of the blood ONLY. Said tests do NOT mean your liver is not infected. Even doctors seem to screw the meaning of those viral load count tests up.

From everything you have said to me: I do think the BHT treatment as defined by me is well worth a try for you.

Please do keep this EARTH CLINIC forum updated with any and all results. Wishing, hoping for a DRAMATIC improvement for you. Let this forum know WHATEVER happens. That is the ONLY way people have of knowing what works or does not work....Oscar

Dear Byhisstripes [ Lagos, Nigeria ]. I have NO idea what that long list of blood test results means. What did the doctor who ordered those tests tell you the results indicated ?

It does seem to me your doctor is concerned about conditions including liver function but also some other condition or conditions.

You ordered the BHT. Once you get it and start taking the BHT I hope I can help you.

Are you also infected with MALARIA ? Many people living in Nigeria are and that is why I ask you that question.

But do NOT get discouraged even if you are. We had one person infected with both hepatitis B and malaria who made a remarkable recovery with the BHT treatment. As you no doubt know: Both diseases are common in Nigeria and surrounding areas.

Please do take whatever drugs and such your doctor is prescribing and when the BHT arrives take it as discussed by me. If you tolerate the 250mg of BHT well it might be advisable to increase the dosage to two 250mg capsules of BHT per day or every other day.

I do pay attention to your postings. But this long list of blood tests makes me concerned that some condition other than but including hepatitis B is being looked into by your doctor.

What is your doctor telling you ? ...Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I thought I saw somewhere here where it said that BHT works well with vitamin B12? Now I have just read that it does NOT? I am taking BHT for Hep B and my viral load last time was 128.

Many thanks.

Hi Oscar,

I am planning to take BHT for GH. But I am thinking of applying a mixture of BHT and DMSO topically at the tail bone area and where the lesions usually break out. As it is well known that the GH virus hides in lower spine area and DMSO is such an excellent carrier, what do you think of this strategy? Do you think it is dangerous to do it this way?

Should I also take it internally in addition to the above mentioned strategy?

I was considering doing a multi-pronged attack (Olive Leaf Extract, Lecithin, L-Lysine, H2O2 + DMSO) at the same time as I am determined to get rid of this virus from my system. But I read you mentioned that BHT does not work well when combined with other treatments. So I am now considering doing BHT alone strictly but I want to see if attacking it at the place where it hides with the help of DMSO might be a good strategy. I'd very much appreciate it if you could please reply with your thoughts on this?

And thanks for all that you have done in helping a lot of sufferers by bringing to light the benefits of BHT.

Dear Anon from St.Charles, MO: What is GH ? Genital Herpes ? If it is then taking BHT internally and externally should help a LOT. Many people have cured this infection with a daily dose of 250mg to 500mg of BHT taken as a capsule internally. Also, BHT dissolved in isopropanol has been shown to be effective as a topical treatment ONLY. Isopronanol is toxic taken internally. You WILL get VERY sick if you drink isopropanol.

NOW DMSO is a very powerful solvent. Has been shown to penetrate even finger and toenails. This can be dangerous. Why not use BHT as prescribed in a relatively safe way and see if it works or not ? There is a VERY good chance it will work.

I have never used DMSO and therefore have NO opinion about it....Oscar

Genital Herpes

Yes Oscar, I meant Genital Herpes HSV2. Thank you for the quick reply. I will start with internal dose of 250mg and work up to 500mg a day. I intend to take it as long as it takes to cure this viral infection. I have had this for about 7 years with 2 to 3 break outs a year but I want to cure it now and do not want to pass it to my partner.

In Fowles book he suggests mixing with coconut oil for topical application. Do you think isopropanol is better? Should I just mix it with isopropanol or does it require heating?

Dear Anon from MO, Please do NOT overdo this BHT treatment. Some is good does not mean more is better.

You have it right as to BHT taken internally: one 250mg of BHT with a gulp of water one or twice a day.

BUT, I only use the BHT dissolved in isopropanol as discussed every 4 or 5 days. NOT every day. BHT is powerful stuff and PLEASE do NOT over use it. If any adverse reactions occur do back off or use less of this treatment. If any soreness occurs in the treated areas you ARE over doing it....Oscar

Hi Oscar,

I started BHT at 250mg/day for a week and then upped it to 250mg twice a day. It has been about a little more than 2 weeks since I started BHT for genital herpes.

I also applied isopropanol + BHT mix initially for 3 days in a row and then slowed it down to once in every 4 or 5 days per your advice.

What I am noticing for the last 5 days or so is that it seems like the virus is trying to break out. I get the slight burning sensation but no visible signs or full blown breakout.

Does it mean that the BHT is fighting the virus and actively killing it? Interesting that I am having these symptom soon after I started taking BHT after being breakout-free for 5 months. Is it possible that BHT is causing some sort of die-off reaction? I certainly would hope so. I would like to believe that the virus is being chased out of its hiding spots and then getting killed.

Is it at all possible that it might get worse before it gets better? Just want to know what I am supposed to expect as part of the curing process.

As always, appreciate your time in willingness to help others.

Anon from St. Charles, MO: It seems to me the BHT treatment is working for you because you do not develop actual herpes sores. I do know what you mean when you describe feeling a sore coming on. I did have the oral type herpes sores many years ago. When that happens: take an additional 250mg capsule of BHT at that time. This will help ensure that no sores develop.

From everything you have been reporting the BHT treatment is working for your herpes infection. Just keep doing what you have been with that additional 250mg capsule any time you fell a sore developing. The BHT really does work well for most people who have herpes infections of all types. Used with the caution I have discussed it is for most but not all people a safe and effective treatment for herpes infections....Oscar

Birdy, can you tell us where to get tolnaftate, and possibly give us the proportions that you mixed to get your solution, I.e. how much alcohol in ounces, how much BHT, one or two caps, or whatever, and how much of this tolnaftate in whatever form it can be purchased? Can't wait to try it for fungal, etc. of the skin.
