Prevent Back Sleeping

I just developed sleep apnea recently, mainly when I sleep on my back. I raised the head of my bed about 4" with risers and that helped a lot and it is a healthier way to sleep for circulation.

I tried to remember not to sleep on my back, but that didn't work very well. CPAP masks would not work for me because I am a light sleeper.

One thing that really helped keep me on my side was a ball, that attaches to the back of your shirt and "reminds" you not to flip over on your back. It has a great 2-part design that detaches and clamps on to your night shirt. One side of the ball is hard plastic (the clip part) and the other is softer, rubberized material next to the skin. A lot of people wear a tight t-shirt, that keeps the ball close to their back, but I found that uncomfortable. I wear a looser shirt, and attach it at my lower back, and the ball stays away from my body but still keeps me from sleeping on my back. (I also use a round bolster pillow that I place between my arms and it keeps my back straight and chest open when I'm on my side.)

I've used it for several months now, and it has worked perfectly. I purchased it on amazon, called a "calma clip" and it is by far the best version of this device. It even comes with a zippered cover to keep it clean and for travel. It is a simple and effective solution.
