Natural Skin Tag Removal: 7 Home Remedies for Skin Tags

I had an annoying skin tag right near the inside corner of my eye. It was about 1/8" and I was beginning to be able to see it. I used straight lavender oil because I often use it for skin problems and I prefer the scent. It worked within a few days. Just be very careful around sensitive tissue like eyes and genitals. For me, the most successful was the cotton-tying method. Tried the iodine and tea tree oil without success. The cotton method worked well, and within just a few days the tags had discoloured, dried and fallen off-amazing! You have to take the time to tie the cotton just right, and I left quite long strings, so that I could pull it a little tighter, after a while. You can tell within a few hours if you have tied it correctly, as it starts to discolour, and 'picks' a bit. If not, take it off and tie again-it's worth the small effort. I had about 10 fairly prominent tags around my neck which have gone, and no scarring! An excellent remedy-thank you!

I applied undiluted Tea Tree oil to the tag, and within 2 days the tag had turned to a blister, and after 2 weeks, the tag was COMPLETELY GONE. I am completely sold on this stuff, its a miracle. Note: I think straight tea tree oil was a bit harsh, because it made the area really sore. However, there is no scar or anything left of the tag.

DID IT!! Read all the posts re: just cutting the darn thing off. Cleaned sharp hair scissors & tweezers w/ alcohol... Husband gripped and pulled tag away from skin w/ tweezers, and he snipped it off w/ the scissors. I used ice on it for about 10 SECONDS before he did this. I am not kidding you, it did not hurt at all... As a matter of fact, I didn't even know he had cut it off.... A little bleeding, but i'm 'neosporined/bandaded' up! I cannot believe I went this long w/ tags.... Don't hesitate trying this method!

My husband did try it on a rather large skin tag. It was difficult to cover w/bandaid. It got really gross also but one day it turned BLACK!! and eventually fell off. I guess the tag was too large (about 1/2 inch long???) so he had to do it again. Both time it definitely was painful. But it now is just a little bump but always pink. I don't think he wants to try it anymore. He cut off another one that was smaller and that was the easier way to go.

Update-- a week in and I have had to stop using the cider vinegar, it was just too painful. It was definately working, the tags have gone hard and started going black but have now just gone red. I have now tied off the largest tag wtih dental floss today and it is already turning a darker red --the cider vinegar has helped to dry them out so it's made thme much easier to tie them off. It's very difficult to operate with one hand in that area but I managed after several attempts to make a slipknot and loop the floss over the tag and push it down to the base. I left very long strings so that I could tighten it all up from the front. Seems to be working and not too painful so far, just stinging a little. Will update in a day or so.

Tea Tree Oil worked for me.

I had a skin tag under my eye for a few years and it suddenly started growing. That's when I decided I had to try to get rid of it. I used a cotton swab with a drop of tea tree oil and dabbed only the skin tag because I knew from a past experience the tea tree oil could redden the surrounding skin. In just a couple of days it scabbed over and I just scratched the dry skin off. It was small after that so I continued dabbing and a couple days later the rest scratched right off.

Dry ice is effective for removal of skin tags. When applied, I crack the larger piece of dry ice to make a pointed piece that I can hold in a towel. I touch the dry ice to the skin tag until it becomes white and frozen - about 3-5 seconds. The skin tags usually fall off within the week.

This technique has risks for freezer burn of the surrounding skin.

Under the thread skin tag theory I found sugar may be the cause. I thought this was important so I'm posting here as well.

It's Dec 29 and I just noticed some new skin tags on my neck. One in particular is large and itchy; it wasn't there last month. The association between sugar and skin tags seems to be true for my body type. During this holiday season, I've been drinking ginger beer which has a lot of sugar.

I had a skin tag about the size of a corn's kernel. I used thuja but the tag was too big. Thuja only removed 1/3 of the tag and nothing from its root. After a month I tried again thuja and ACV but the big tag had become immune!

In just 13 hours of applying bloodroot (or better black salve) the huge tag had withered completely and started forming into a scab. I put a small quantity on the tag and also on the cotton above. Then put some pressure also with a bondage above. I am having a hard time getting rid of a skin tag that is on my eye lid. It is directly on top of my lower eye lashes. I do not want to go to the eye doctor and have them cut it out, (which is what they want to do). I have been using rubbing alcohol on it for a couple days and it has shrunk. I am fearful of freezing it and cutting it just because it's so close to my eye. Any other suggestions on what I can do?

The nail clipper method is easy and simple (and fun! ). I make sure the clippers are sterilized, just one snip and its done. No worse than a pin-prick really!

Yes, it does bleed, but thats a good thing too. A tiny scab forms where the deed has been done.

I also used the rip it off method with at least 3 tags. The worst one being under my arm pit, I say that because some hair is also pulled out with it. Here is my method of removing them; I just got as close to the base as I could, pinched them as hard as I could between my finger nails (more like cutting them) then pulled them off. It was for the most part painless, maybe just a little pinch. I also took one off my eye lid the same way. None of them ever came back. I hope this will help you.

Had a tag on my groin for years. Recently became tender and annoying from friction. Looked on here and thought sod it I'm cutting it off. Couple of minutes ice, pulled it and snipped it off. Applied antiseptic. Bleeding stopped with a minute and there is no visible trace of the tag bar an extremely small red cut. Absolutely painless and not all all messy. Dont hesitate, wish I had done this years ago.

I had one that grew very near the inner corner of my right eye. It became increasingly bothersome, not to mention the embarrassment of having people try to tell me I had an eye-booger and then I would have to explain that it was a skin tag, not eye-crust!?! Super embarrassing! I finally got desperate and decided I would just cut it off myself.... I numbed it with ice and snipped it off with sterilized nail clippers. I didn't feel a thing and it hardly bled at all. My mom was super impressed and grossed out all at the same time! I'll never live with a bothersome skin tag again! I'll just cut the darn thing off!

ME TOO... I have been doing the ACV for 2 moles. Yesterday morning the first one just fell off. I applied it twice a day for 4 days. The other one is much bigger so I know it will take longer... Yes, this is normal. It means it's working, and soon they will fall off.

What works really well too is Iodine tincture. You can get it decolorized so it doesn't stain.

The problem with laser skin tag removal is that they come back. I had mine removed 6 years ago, but after about two or three years they have grown back and now they are worse than before, That is why I am looking for another solution.

I am diabetic and eat absolutely no sugar at all. This is how I control my diabetes. I have never eaten sugar because it makes me sick. However, I DO have skin tags. So how does that fit? Also, my mother-in-law was diabetic and lived on sugar but had no skin tags. Are we just weird?

Had skin tags for many years in armpit area. After other remedies not working I got up the nerve to take a sharp mini-scissor and snip off one small skin tag to see how painful it would be.
