After close to 3 years, all ringworm has gone! What worked with me was vicks vaporub mixed wd 1-2 drops of pure oregano oil. applied on the affected area 2-3x a day. Start wd just one drop of oregano oil coz its very strong, and build it up as your skin can tolerate it. At first, my skin got very red and extremely itchy, I had to stop adding oregano oil, just vicks. But during the time I started applying it on my skin, I mixed 4-5 drops of oregano oil in coconut oil and drank it ( 2-3x a day) Please be advised, oregano oil is very strong,, not for the faint of heart! If you can't tolerate it, just lower the dose or add more coconut oil. Anyway, on the 3rd day of treatment, the itching was gone. So I just stuck to applying vicks but continued wd the drink. On the 5th day, I noticed the lesions on my skin have dried out n died. Will continue this for I guess one month and keep you updated.

Anyone have experience with topical turpentine for Ringworm on the torso?
I've tried 3 strengths of colloidal silver, apple cider vinegar, 10% sulfur Soap, soap with flowers of sulfur, 4-5 topicals. No luck.
Thank you-

Garlic
★★☆☆☆
I mixed fresh garlic with coconut oil, applied it every day to my wrist (where the infection was) and I thought it was working because the skin felt like it was burning.
The smell was very strong too, so I believe I used a generous amount, but after a couple of weeks I gave up because it didn't really do anything to cure it or make it smaller.
Bleach
★★☆☆☆
I applied it for over a month, twice a day, for about 1 hour, then washed it off and applied Lamisil.
It dried the skin, it seemed to make Lamisil work slightly better, but in the end it didn't work.
Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil
★★☆☆☆
It's the only thing that made the fungus tingle, but it didn't cure it.
Drinking 2 table spoons of ACV with honey in a cup of water made the fungus look much drier.
Coconut oil rubbed directly into it made it seem less apparent, it also burnt more than any other thing that I have ever applied to it.
Also, I mixed coconut oil with borax (1:1 ratio with solidified coconut oil), the results were good but only temporary.
Nail Polish

I couldn't get the dry polish off completely so I just kept spreading it everywhere for a couple of days.

I think you are the only gardener on this site. I was just wondering have you ever used hydrogen peroxide on your plants and vegs if so what results have you had, I tried it on a potted begonia about a month ago and I am pleased with the results. It's winter here and the begonia looks brighter and seems to look healthier, I know that's it early days but I will leave it for a while and see what happens.

NON-SENSITIVE AREAS:
N1. Applied 'tincture of Iodine' with a q-tip one a day and the ringworm was gone in a week. This may tint the skin and clothes.
N2. Application of Dettol antiseptic (the original old formula) stopped the fungal growth.
N3. Slightly warmed 100 ML mustard oil, added a teaspoon each of Turmeric powder and a red chilli powder. Mixed well and Stored in a bottle. Applied twice daily to stop fungus. This may tint the clothes.
SENSITIVE AREAS:
S1. Lugol's solution: Washed the affected area with mild shampoo and applied twice daily to stop the fungal growth.
S2. If I wanted to avoid tinting or sensitivity, applied Tamarind extract 1:5 which is a potent fungicide and bactericide. Soaked 20 grams of Tamarind in 100 ML warm water, mashed and squashed, filtered and stored in the fridge for daily use.
S3. Slightly warmed 100 ML mustard oil, added a teaspoon of Turmeric and mixed well. Applied twice daily for fungus control. This may tint the clothes.
Bleach
The simplest and cheapest remedy for ringworm which is a fungus, is turmeric powder applied dry.
I have used it for years on cats with good results.
Turmeric if spilled on clothes, washes out very well if patient. I use Sunlight laundry soap bar. First, the spot turns a nice pink. I hang the garment up wet and it may disappear or will do so next time. It works well on cottons.

Bleach
But, if the bleach really bothers you, apple cider vinegar would be my next choice and its not very expensive. They do really itch and burn, but I try to think of it as the remedy killing the fungus. When I was little, my mother bought Blue Star ointment, not natural I suppose, but it worked also.

Aloe Vera

I am new to this site. I was recommended to try Apple Cider Vinegar by my nurse practitioner for ringworm I have under my arm. I did some research on this site, and everyone says they rub the site very hard until they bleed. Is this necessary to get the ringworm to go away or can I just hold a cotton ball soaked with ACV over the spot briefly?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

I have used Turmeric powder for many years for ringworm on cats. It disappears within days. The area must be dry (on human skin) and the powder applied gently. Repeat during the day and wear clothes that can be washed and are not the best ones. When washing with laundry soap, there will be a deep pink which disappears with time or when exposed to the sun.
Doesn't even cost pennies. Namaste, Om

The second bout happened about 2 years after on my lower back, timodine did a little but it seemed they were more resistant. I remembered when I had the first bout I started drinking home made garlic and onion soup, this may have helped get rid of it internally.
It is slowly going away, ACV can sting but the sting soon goes away. Soak a face cloth (to only be used for this purpose) in a slightly diluted mixed of water and ACV and allow to soak for at least 20 mins. One big tip is to have a hot bath first, open the pores of the skin to allow the Apple Cider Vinegar to get right into the skin. This approach is working better than any OTC or prescription I have had for this bout.
I have also started drinking Apple Cider Vinegar as mentioned in the replies. Remember to continue the process well after you think it has disappeared, because it is basically waiting to come back again if you don't.
Good luck.

I used ACV and everything else under the sun but nothing would get it off my right leg. Having looked at some electron mocroscope pictures of dermatophytes I just went to war. I discovered that clove bud oil seemed to bring one of the new spreading patches to the surface and dry it out. I researched clove bud oil and sure enough it turns out to be one of the best fungus killers available. Result!
OK so far but leg and old infection must be dealt with. The skin had built layers and layers of protective covering and lumps so no wonder nothing would reach it. It had also been in a constant state of inflammation. I sandpapered in the bath before filling it with water which removed a few dusty layers but not enough.
So I got some bentonite clay and made a paste with ACV. Painted the complete leg thickly with this mix, wrapped it in cling film and left on for 24 hours. Stung like hell but I dealt with that by imagining each sting as a dermatophyte screaming and fighting for its life. Another one bites the dust. Fantastic result. All I had to do was take a smooth knife and scrape the skin off revealing for the first time the extent of the fungus. Oh boy! ACV soaked cotton wool rubbed in vigorously seems to have killed it off. The spots are dark red brownish so it looks pretty dead.
Back to the other leg and thighs! Tried rubbing clove oil all over instead of just on the outbreaks. That was a revelation. They are literally covered in fungus. The clove oil seems to bring to the surface fungus you don't know is there so you can see the extent of the actual infection. It seems to pretty much kill it as the rash it creates is rough to the touch and red at first.
Clove doesn't sting unless the skin is broken and then it's mild compared to ACV. When clove oil is absorbed after an hour or two I smother everything with Aloe Vera Gel. That is one of the only substances which penetrates to the hypodermis and so carries the clove oil with it. Fungus doesn't stand a chance LOL! When I can take more stinging I alternate with ACV spray just to keep things going! All out attack! To help the skin along I occasionally mix the aloe vera with coconut oil.
For the final stage I have ordered colloidal silver spray. Salt and vinegar in the bath first of course. Forever!!
I feel great because I know I have it licked. The inflammation in the leg has cooled off which means the skin's immune system doesn't have living fungus to deal with. Skin is gradually looking healthier.
Still a way to go but at least when I do get rid of it, it will be ALL of it with nothing left hidden and I will have new skin. I am 70 years old so that can't be bad.
The only thing I didn't learn here was the clove bud oil trick. I just happened to have some on hand and tried it. So thank you everybody for all the input and maybe my method might just help somebody else.
You are all terrific!
Ps I think I picked this up from a friend's dog who was chewing at his paw forever! He would leap into bed with me in the morning for a play session while I was on a three month visit a couple of years ago.

Also, if you see a pimple like bump what can you do right away to keep it from developing/getting worse?
Can anyone speak to there being any truth that you need to take on an anti candida like diet :S seems extreme
Greetings...the joys of killing a fungus. Not.
Know what you're going thru. Ringworm is persistent and I've used a lot of different things to counter attack: Success with Epsom Salts... Disolve the mag sulfate in water leaving it graney and take the paste and rub vigorously if you like on the infected spot. It sure feels good too if itching. Just let it dry. Again a few hours later. Then apply borax; as in 20 Mule Team Borax, which has boron in it. Let dry. Again apply an hour later and let dry.
That is a three day protocol. If the fungus is in the system then you'll see the infection re emerge at different skin locations as ringworm seeks the skin and I'm thinking (maybe wrong but I think not) that the fungus if in the blood stream will seek out its favorite "home" which is the skin.
So to kill it system wide; colloidal silver taken daily over a two month period with alternating doses of bentonite clay or charcoal... You can get the clay in health food stores in pill form and also the charcoal in powder form. I know charcoal is in powder canisters also but I've only used it to take internally by pill. Either way, powder disolved in water or in pill form it's a good cleanser.
By the way, you might try using charcoal and clay... Either one... Topically too if the epsom salts/boron aren't doing the trick. CS also topically might work. I'd combine CS with DMSO if you are going to use topically to get it deep into the skin layers to the root system of the fungus.

I posted about using "clay" and incorrectly said you can take that by capsule... and was talking also about charcoal. NO. The clay you mix in water and disolve and drink or make a more solid paste to apply topically. Over the years I've used CHARCOAL in pill form not clay in pill form. You can also make a paste out of charcoal and apply topically.
So sorry. And I do proof my posts three times before sending. I'll have to start proofing four times. (Or stop writing in the middle of the night... Which is when I am most alert... I thought.)

It took me 3 days shy of 1 year to get rid of it and to this day 30yrs later I still get these tiny blisters on the sides of my fingers, what was horrible is that these blisters where coming from inside out you could see them bubbling out of the little hole's eeww like beach clams!, and I now am allergic to all antibiotics except septra, I didn't care I took the last bottle of antifungal pills, that was their last attempt, what happened to add to it I had an allergic reaction to the infection which caused another, add-on which I had a severe allergic reaction on top of it was 3 high of reactions, my feet turned black! And I now have a ring worm ...which is a fungal infection and am terrified that it's turning into the same thing.
and to add to curiosity, my son's fiance is pregnant and the resulting hormones caused valley fever to surface, they induced coma, it went from one lung to another, in days I made her go to hospital, I knew she had pneumonia, when she said her chest hurt, she's been from one hospital then flown by chopper to stanford, last few days is first time, she's eaten, walked few steps at a time but it's a deadly disease most go unnoticed but she was litterally dying and its got a 60% death rate in AZ. in previous studies 1 year there was approx 2,200 cases, in the following year 22,000+ cases!
so I'm wondering if there is any relation tho is said not to cross or jump but the ringworm I got omg I've never seen chit like that but her kids have had it a few times, and think possibly I got it from their house. I actually was freaked out for days thinking it was an actual bug under my skin, theres my phobia BUGS! I've had bleach bath's doc said don't use this cream for more than 5 more days! So I didn't and the bottoms of my feet look like wax paper and then that itch if I had a black'n decker i'd be on high speed with one! Lol, but now ...omg this on top of everything else ...just ducky! I am in love with this site I've been reading for hours!
bleach and I'm making list of other remedies! Thanks!!

It was a mistake to self-treat, it only made things worse by causing scarring that took a very long time to go away. I think it can be wise to get a diagnosis and consult a doctor if you can before any self-treatment.

Before I knew what it was, I was putting antibiotic ointment on it and covering it with a band aid and I think the moist environment strengthened the hold the fungus had on my skin. Anyway, I've been super diligent about disinfecting everything as well as loosely covering it at night with a 4''x4'' square of white cotton fabric and paper tape so it won't rub against the bed or sheets but is still able to breathe and stays dry. Plus I don't want to spread it to my husband or cat. I've been doing that for three weeks now, the first two with just the absorbine jr, then I started the tea tree oil, but it smells unpleasant so I went to apple cider vinegar, has been working great, I actually think it's almost cured. The vinegar made a layer of skin rub off after a couple days and it was pink and raw so I cut a piece of aloe vera off my plant, sliced it longwise and put it right on the raw part, then taped a piece of gauze dipped in vinegar over top the aloe and left it on all night, next morning it felt better and looked like the fungus is dying off and the healing is happening finally. I can't believe how difficult it's been to get rid of this, I hope any info I gave will help others. As others have suggested I'll keep treating the area for at least two weeks after it seems gone, I never want to deal with this horrible fungus again.
