Acidic pH Remedies

Whilst living in a car due to being so allergic I tried to practice this alkalising with bicarb in apple cider vinegar and bicarb just in water. It made me very nauseas and heightened the already severe pain.

I am confused. Saliva on litmus paper first thing in the morning shows I am the most acidic you can be. My GP thinks the body is getting rid of extra acidity through the saliva..... That this litmus paper test is not accurate. Other GPs have commented on how alkaline I am - high sodium and calcium readings on blood tests. Also the bicarb reading is OK.
And high calcium in my tissues.

I have low stomach acid so if I take bicarb I cant digest anything. I understand I could take it away from food times.

I have a high metal and viral count so I must be acidic.

Many years ago someone suggested bicarb (taken in pure water), I did it for awhile till another GP did a litmus test (middle of the day - not acidic) but I have only got much worse, not better.

The GP must be wrong. I assume I would be acidic. What would you suggest? Taking away from food times and slowly - last week Bill was talking about taking hcl before meals and alkalising some time after. Or maybe alkalinity is too hard to achieve whilst the viral and metals are still there?

Sterilizing: For sanitizing anything plastic, we used a microwave steam sterilizer. No tablets or chemicals needed, it just uses water only. Steam sterlizers are found in the baby section of stores. You can also get sterlizer tablets there to dip whatever you want to sterilize but that is more fuss and mess than the steam method. For metal tips, an alcohol swipe provides assurance.

Romaine Lettuce, Parsley

HEARTS OF ROMAINE & PARSLEY GOT ME ALKALINE:

I thought I was eating pretty healthily with lots of fresh fruits & kitchen-grown sprouts, but I was always too acidic with resulting fatigue. I used baking soda effectively but it can cause dizziness & damage the kidneys over time. One day I tried some hearts of romaine - I didn't know they are not bitter like regular romaine, which I don't like, until someone told me.

Amazing! If I just eat a bit of that several times a day, even the whitish part, I'm quite alkaline. Putting ground parsley on food also helps a lot.

I suspect spinach would be very alkalizing but too much of it can be a goitrogen - I. E. a danger to thyroid health.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Lemons

From all that I have been reading in researching how to alkalize your body PH, although lemons (citrus) and apple cider vinegar are Acid in their raw form, when the body processes them they both have an alkalizing effect.

Amen to that, I have found that natural cures have work so well on me and my dog. My dog was diagnosed 3 years ago for bone cancer and I chose to use a natural method and he is still here. If I had choose the onconolgist method it would have cost 8200.00 instead it only cost me around 300.00, to go natural. In all my studies on natural cures; not one was costly. The doctors and pharmacuticals companies worked together and make billions. So sad that when some doctors take an oath the most important thing was their pocketbook.

I think lemons and limes are just as effective, especially if they are organic. There seems to be confusion concerning acidic and alkaline. Yes, ACV as well as all fruits are acidic, lemons and limes being the most acidic. When ingested, they cause the digestive system to be more acidic, which is good. The digestive system must be highly acidic for proper digestion. Reflux is caused by the stomach not being acidic enough. An acidic environment in the intestines prevents overgrowth of candida. However, When the digested ACV and fruits are absorbed into the bloodstream, they cause it to be alkaline, and so the rest of the body becomes alkaline.

Sharon, I am sorry to see no reply posts for you yet, I have never had your misfortune, but realize that you must be in physical and mental agony with the itching for weeks, here is what I suggest:

Baking soda, Epsom salt and a good sea salt like Himalayan mixed in equal quantities in water, till all is dissolved…put this in an atomizer bottle and spray your body down. If this remedy is causing you more discomfort, shower it off.

Salt is a strong natural antihistamine. The magnesium in the Epsom will calm the skin, it gets absorbed through the skin and can calm the nervous system and sooth your mind and soul??, the sulfur will improve the circulation and is always great on eczema problem, so why not yours, the bicarb of soda will counter the inflammation and the itch and burn…or try soaking(15-20min) in a bath with at least a cup of each of these agents. I have found Lavender and Peppermint essential oil great for itching skin…so add a few drops of these to the bath...

Rub on some coconut oil afterwards..

Search for the system alkalinizing remedies of our two heroes on Earth clinic, Bill and Ted…

I hope you find relief soon!

M Bare, the answer to your dilemma is this:

Use one very clean container for urine and another (small) very clean container for saliva. Test the substance while in the container, and clean the meter probe between and after using.

As a last resort, some folks use tiny disposable cups instead of having to wash containers. I consider disposable containers a waste, except while traveling.

Linda

No need to spend hundreds of $$ for a pH meter unless you want to. I use the "pH Checker" meter made by Hanna Instruments. It's fast, accurate and easy. You can find it many places on the web including Ebay, it's ~$30.USD

Hi Anon... Sodium Thiosulfate will also neutralize chlorine in water, but its always best to by a dechlorinator for the shower. You can test how good the shower water is by using the Sodium Bicarb test and/or litmus paper. I live in the Philippines and I'm lucky enough to have my own well-water now because I live in the semi-provinces and don't have this problem anymore really.

Hey Bill; I forgot to ask if the sodium bicarbonate enough or should we take a drop of ST before showering or rinse off in some ST after bathing? Or is drinking ST in regular water throughout the day good enough? Do you think the anti-chlorine faucet & shower filters are any good? I removed my shower one cuz I didn't know what kind of stuff was in the filter. It looked like some orange brown tinsel to something. Many thanks mate!

Ted from Bangkok often advises us to alkalize the blood using just Sodium Bicarbonate in water. But what does alkalize the blood mean in plain English?

To illustrate this, let's just consider the effects of Chlorine in our water supply. If you take a shower or two every day with chlorinated water then your body will absorb 25% of the chlorine in the shower water through the skin. And if you also drink chlorinated tapwater, then this will also increase the chlorine in your blood. And when chlorine goes into your body -- to keep it simple -- this is the reaction of chlorine with water:

Cl2 plus H2O ==> HCL plus HCLO(hypochlorous acid)

So we should notice that Hydrochloric acid (HCl) forms in our blood from the chlorine and this is continuously happening because we shower and drink chlorine in our water every single day -- and so it begins to accumulate in excess.

(Please understand that the the above description is considerably more complex than described above -- but I've kept it simple for comprehension -- since outcomes are the important thing. )

As a defense, the body uses its Sodium (Na) ions to neutralize this excess acid in our blood by converting the hydrochloric acid to Sodium Chloride which is then cleared from our blood by the kidneys. And the result is that more and more sodium ions are removed from the blood until electrolytic imbalance occurs which disrupts all the important sodium pumps in every cell and organ in the body -- thus upsetting the nutrient and excretory diffusion gradients between the blood and the cells.

After a certain point, the body then starts to remove calcium from the bones to neutralize the hydrochloric acid. The body also breaks down tissue proteins into Ammonia which is also used to neutralize the chlorine and which creates dangerous chloramines in the process. And the whole effect of this process is caused by continual acidification of the blood by chlorine intake, resulting in wide disruption of nutrient pathways further resulting in sudden and continual loss of weight through body tissue wasting.

And I haven't even mentioned the extra acidifying effects of processed foods or fluorine or heavy metals or drugs in our diets yet which also helps to cause and aggravate the same acid problems and conditions.

But if you take sodium bicarbonate to alkalize the blood -- this reacts with HCL thus:

NaHCO3 plus HCl %u2192 NaCl plus H2CO3

H2CO3 %u2192 H2O plus CO2

So taking just sodium bicarbonate with water is highly beneficial against acid blood caused by chlorine. Notice also that Carbon Dioxide is increased in the blood -- which has the further effect of increasing oxygen intake into the blood by the lungs via the CO2/O2 gradient. The effect of taking sodium bicarbonate alone is therefore a lifesaver for people with severe acid blood condition with body wasting problems.

Many people seem not to bother with Sodium Bicarbonate with water but, in the above, I have tried to explain just one aspect of the importance of alkalizing the blood with this method. And as you can see from the explanation -- it can be a life saver!! Perhaps now more people can more clearly see the importance of why it is so necessary to both alkalize the cells AND the blood.

From the above, here are a couple of simple and easy experiments you can try that are quite useful as rough guides.

First fill up a glass with ordinary tapwater and add 1/4 tspn of sodium bicarbonate to it and stir it in. If the water immediately tastes quite salty, your water supply is significantly chlorinated or fluorinated -- because the sodium bicarbonate is reacting with the chlorinated (acid) water to immediately form salt. This experiment tells you how badly chlorinated/ fluorinated your water supply is. The stronger the salt taste, the higher the chlorination factor.

Second experiment. Ensure that you have not drunk anything or eaten anything for at least an hour. Now take a small dab of sodium bicarbonate on a spoon and put it in your mouth. If it immediatly tastes salty, chances are that your body is acidic. If it does not taste at all salty then your body is fairly alkaline.

These experiments are only meant to be rough guides but I still think they are useful.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Wwnjboesman (Westwood, Nj) on 11/18/2011

My guess is that your PH naturally falls (becomes acidic) while you are sleeping as nothing is flushing your system(not drinking water and peeing). Therefore everyones PH is going to be on the acidic side first thing in upon awakening. As for the numbers rising, remember 7.0 is netural and thats where you want to be or better yet slightly above. If you want to neturalize the ACV then you should mix in a bit of bicarbinate soda with it.

I hve been drinking 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar twice a day for nearly a year. My health is good, my skin feels best while drinking this. I dilute it some and drink it through a straw to bypass my teeth. However when testing my urine with a ph strip in the a.m., I am high on the acid side; 5.5. Sometimes during the day that number will climb to a 6.5 or 7. Sometimes it stays the same. Why aren't I getting an akaline/normal reading? Thanks.

What kind of pH strips do you use/where do you purchase these, for testing acidity/alkalinity? Also, is your urine what you test? If it is urine that is tested, should you test it first thing in the morning, or when during the day? Thanks

[There are] digestive enzyme specifically for balancing your gut's pH. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) will also eliminate stomach issues and balances your body's pH. ACV relieves heartburn, indigestion, sour stomach, food poisoning, dehydration (hang over) etc. I drink 1tsp-2tbsp depending on the situation.

Garlic... Kyolic Aged and 3 cloves RAW garlic every day. Aids blood pressure and cholesterol.

Avoid the following oils: hydrogenated anything, Canola, Soy, Vegetable, Sesame.

Replace with Hemp (only cold or warm, never cook w/) and Coconut - but limit your oil intake because Coconut oil also has saturated fat, but shouldn't raise your cholesterol levels into a danger zone. Also could be an underlying problem from adrenal fatigue.

Hemp also has your omegas & protein.

Hope it helps.

If you have an inflamed stomach, and don't want to take antibiotics just try the natural antibiotic route. Research that. I would start with lots of raw garlic (chopped up really small) and maybe have it with lemon juice and olive oil and make a nice salad dressing if you don't want to have it by itself. Also onions are good. Organic coconut oil is also anti bacterial/anti fungal so 2 tablespoons of that would be beneficial.

Try aloe vera juice! It wipes out most stomach problems, it most surely alleviates the burning! They sell some with flavoring by the food isle, however I buy the gallon which is organic and no flavor near the pharmacy isle in my supermarket. I take a shot glass worth and immediatly you feel the difference.

My son got sick on me last year, he caught a virus, he thought he was gonna die and begged me for a hospital. Of course I knew he needed a little T.L.C. but again he thought he was on his death bed. I took him cause he said his chest hurt and he was throwing up.

Long story short, dr's prescribed him medicine at $10 each pill. KRA-AAAZY! So I bought a gallon of aloe and gave him a shot, he went to sleep and when he woke up, he was fine! Since then, I've given everybody I know, when they feel ill, with GREAT results!

Hope this helps!

Hi.....I received my gastroscope results from my family Dr.... My spec. Dr. has not contacted as of yet, 2 weeks ago.... My stomach is inflamed, I have hypyloric bacteria, hiatal hernia and metaplasia (a form of cell changes)... I believe I am acidic, a lovely spot for these events to happen... Went to the health store, bought PH strips and working on getting 7. 5.. Balance... Mostly focusing on alkaline foods... Big difference in urine and sputum testing. Question 1... Which is more accurate?... My urine testing is higher alkaline which is great. I did the ACV and BS with your measurements, however noticed this a.m. on your posts that it lowers B/P....Mine stays pretty much 90/60 range... Hereditary genes I think... This a.m. it was 82/50....so I am thinking no ACV..... I took the prescripition for Hypyloric Bacteria last year, not working and my Dr. wants me to go that route again. I have alleviated some stress issues, started yoga , deep breathing last week...... For my discomfort I use DGL, a licorese and mastica chios twice a day.... I am 61, 130 lbs............ I have stomach pain... Where do I start Ted?............ I am new to this site and I thank-you...Jess

Orp Readings

I also have a hard time keeping the ORP meter reading properly. What I have done was to use pure distilled water that sat a day to two and calibrate the meter for 265. I use the ORP meter as a reference point only from where I am at. So if I started at 135 and 150 which I did in the beginning of drinking my homemade mineral water, my urine PH climbed as well as the ORP even if it wasn't that accurate. It is quite relative. In the beginning, first three weeks, my average urine PH was 5.8, now 16 weeks later I am average 7.3 for the last 8 days and climbing. The ORP is -194. Even though it is not accurate, it is still and indicator. I calibrate my ORP meter using distilled water every 3 weeks. Hope that helps, cause I had the same thought.

Guilherme, you are suffering most likely from Scabies!! Scabies are tiny mites that live on and under your skin. They make tunnels under your skin and lay eggs there. You said you feel crawling and have blood spots. It's the mites. This is a very common problem, but not many people know to diagnose this correctly. Get rid of the mites and you will get well again. Search the internet for natural scabies cures. There are many different options to treat this. It's a bit of hard work.. But it can be done. Good luck!

Why would an MD not check PH levels first thing in every patient? All physicals should include a PH test. Looks like this could and would eliminate the need for tons of medicine if they would only do this and advise the patient on how to up their PH level to combat sickness and disease. Guess it comes down to money for the docs, and more money for the drug companies.

Orp Readings
Posted by Miket (Cary, North Carolina, United States) on 08/17/2011

I just bought a pH/ORP combo meter. The ORP piece of the combo meter is factory calibarated. In taking a few urine readings, most of those readings (8 in total) were positive which ranged from 2 to 200 with only 2 readings that were negative (-15 and -19). This didn't make too much sense as for the most part I am feeling well with the exception of some brain fog issues. I started to panic a bit thinking I was a walking cancer time bomb waiting to explode... To further research, I called the vendor and asked them about negative ORP readings and their response was that the platinum probe needs to be oxidized by dipping and storing the meter in distilled vinegar solution for about 3 days initially. However, I was just reading one of Ted from Bangkok's responses to Hasan in the "ph_questions" section where he mentioned that we want to ensure that the ORP meter is cleaned and stored in a KCL solution to "prevent" oxidation. Now, I am very confused.... Has anyone run into an issue like this? What is everyone doing to ensure their ORP meters are indeed providing accurate readings (positive or negative)?

Orp Readings
Posted by Rhhince (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) on 07/29/2011

I did some urinary PH testings of my parents and sister and myself. The readings varied (PH 5.1, ORP -2) (PH 6.3, ORP -70) (PH 7.0, ORP -89) (PH 7.3, ORP -75). The objective I understand, is to be able to raise the negative ORP levels -150 and up on the negative scale. For an individual that could mean raising their PH level to 7.5 to achieve that, the other 7.0 might do the trick, but the objective is the higher negative ORP readings and not so much PH. I read on other websites that PH levels between 6.5 and 8.0 are ok neutral. This may give a range for each individual to work with to obtain higher negative ORP readings. Is this a good way to start? When I started this venture 2 months ago, my 3 week PH reading average was 5.8, ORP 50, the next 3 weeks was PH 6.4, ORP -50, this current 3 week stretch in progress is sitting at PH 6.9, ORP -75. It may take another month with a PH of 7.5 to possibly achieve -150 ORP. The relationship of PH and ORP appears proportional to each individual.

Lemons and Limes
Posted by Rick (Woburn, Ma) on 07/11/2011

I'm still confused. I have read the list of foods that are the most alkalizing and acidifying to the body. Both lemons and limes are listed as some of the most alkalizing fruits. Apparently there is some internal process that treats these citric acids as alkalizers. If this is true, is ascorbic acid, without the addition of any baking soda, an alkalizing supplement or an acidifying supplement?
