I started low fod about 10 weeks ago after having some pretty severe nausea and bloating issues. I am still doing my reintroduction but I did some testing and know SOME stuff I am okay at eating without getting sick.
Unfortunately I hadn't tested corn. I made Elote and couldn't help myself, I had a whole ear - not recommended by Monash AT ALL. And I paid for it in a LOT of bloat, indigestion and nausea. The indigestion was last on the list and it was a doozy. Those acid burps you KNOW are just below the surface. You also know it would FEEL GOOD to burp, but know there's a chance it will be acidic and gross so you stop yourself.
I took some a peppermint softgel, 2 activated charcoals, gasx, some orange ginger tea, a warm pack on my stomach, aloe vera water and some other things and just sat here for 5 hours miserable.
Thought I would check out EC because I was DESPERATE and I saw you guys suggested mustard. I love mustard, I have mustard seed, yellow mustard and dijon (all low fod) so I picked the dijon, put a nice big glob on my finger and guess what? After all that hell in about 5 minutes the indigestion was GONE.
What the heck? LOL. THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you so much for this advise about mustard. I have been suffering for days now with indigestion, relentless burping, I've been taking ACV regularly for a few years now, but does not seem to settle this condition. all I had in the cupboard was mustard seeds, so in desperation, I chomped on about 2 teaspoons & swallowed. IT WORKED! 90% relief in about 10 min. YEAH!

Tried this mustard remedy tonight, was having terrible indigestion-- bloating, burping, lots of discomfort in my stomach. Had between 1/2-1 teaspoon of regular yellow mustard, and almost instantly it reduced the indigestion by a good 80%.. It's stayed that way and has been probably 10 minutes since I took it. Not perfect, but close to it! Definitely would recommend to others in the future!

I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago soon after I had my daughter. My doctor informed me since my body would no longer be able to process fat that I will have indigestion. At the time I had no clue what indigestion was and never took what the doctor said seriously. One day I was in excruciating pain and could barely move with no idea of what it could be. After a few calls, I found out that this pain was indigestion. The last call I made was to my cousin and she informed me to take a tablespoon of yellow mustard. I took the mustard (squirting it down my throat) and instantly my indigestion was completely gone. For instant relief of indigestion take mustard. Apple Cider Vinegar works also but mustard is a lot easier to swallow.
