Natural Remedies to Detox Heavy Metals

Heavy Metal Tests

Bill,

I want to do a toxic element profile along with minerals levels. What is the difference between hair or urine as far as best test ? When the toxic levels decrease over time does this mean the body has gotten rid of most of it or that it could possibly be hiding in deep tissues, bones, organs, or brain. Hence, the circulatory toxins were removed but the stubborn metals linger in hard to reach areas resulting in a low marker, but in reality can still have high metals.

Is it ok to mix 1/4 tsp borax in 1 liter with 4 drops of Iodine (lugols)= 12.5mg, 1/8 tsp sea salt? These will be mixed in advance in 1 ltr bottle for the week.

Bill: Thank you for your time and assistance.

In follow up clarification: If we always mix the Iodine with Ascorbic acid then is it 100% converted to Iodide? If so, I will only be getting the thyroid functioning benefits and not the Iodine positives (prostate). By mixing it in water only with-out Vit C, I will be getting both sides of the Iodine benefits but will have to tolerate the taste. The other option is to take Iodine with Vit C for higher concentration of Iodide and paint Iodine on the bottom of foot for specific Iodine benefits: which is what your doing.

Do we paint in the middle of bottom of foot or just on inside forearm area ? Difference? When we mix Vit C or ACV with Baking Soda are there any Bicarb benefits (sodium) left or are they used up by the acids intervention?

Bill: Thank You for explaining things very well. I've been sharing the importance of Iodine with deficiency and havoc it can cause. I also heard that along with the halogens that soy inhibits Iodine too and soybean oil is in all packaged foods. Add chlorine, fluoride, bromine and we got a perfect storm for Iodine being depleted.

When we mix Lugol's 2% Solution -- potassium Iodide 4%, Iodine 2%. I heard that 4 drops would equal the 12.5mg per day suggested dosage. Is this correct ?

When we mix lugol's with Vit c we are only getting the Iodide property benefit b/c conversion of Iodine to
100% Iodide ?

To get both Iodine and Iodide we can just mix Lugol's with warm water and get addtional anti-fungal GI benefits ? Or we can just paint to get both Iodine and Iodide into our system?

You see Bill,I have been taking lugol's with just Vit C and not painting. I just want to cover getting both aspects of Iodine and Iodide into the body.

I have red online from other physicians that they say Iodine painting does not absorb properly because most of it evaporates, so it's not accurate measure of how depleted you are or how quickly the shading is gone?

I'm skeptical of the truth with these guys and our govt (FDA) They seem to want to fuel sickness for various organizational networks that benefit;
health care, population control, food industries makers , ,

Is it ok to mix HP,sea salt,borax,4 drops Iodine in 1 liter jar to drink over 1 day period or could this be to heavy detox? I trying to streamline things for my father. Thanks Again :)

Bill: You mentioned that bicarbonates play a role to alkalize blood(extracellular), aid digestion and cell respiration whereas ACV and Lemeon/Lime help to alkalize the intracellular cell environment and aid in the production of energy within the cells.

If one has alkaline saliva (cellular) and alkaline urine (blood )thru testing can one still benefit from taking the bicarbs in water remedy and the lemon/lime BS remedy?

I didn't know if it's necessary or overkill if the body is already alkaline ? They say when applying mag oil to body that it's fully absorb in 20 minutes but how do we know the milligrams we took in? I read it's only about 100mg, short of the 400mg we need per day?

P.S. Is Mixing a 15-20 drops of magnesium oil with 1 liter of water plus: Hp,Borax,Sea Salt,Iodine (Ted's dosages) OK ?

The notes on heavy metals testing recommends testing the hair as the best indicator. I am wondering if heavy metals such as lead, copper, iron, mercury, cadmium, platinum, tungsten, chrome, nickel, zinc and other additives used in steel and other metals and their welding processes as well as in chemotherapy can cause hair to turn gray. I ask this because I started going gray at the age of 29 and my hair got progressively more gray as I got older. I had chemo at age 51 with a platinum based drug and my hair became substantially lighter. I worked in metal fabrication doing lots of welding and grinding full time for twenty years, starting at the age of 18, and then drove truck for twelve years after that.

I am now almost 54 and have been taking alpha lipoic acid for eight weeks to get rid of peripheral neuropathy and have figured out that it is working by chelating at least the platinum out of my system. I started noticing about three weeks in to using the ALA that the natural colour of my hair was returning. Now at eight weeks in to using ALA about 80% of my formerly gray hair is back to its' original natural colour but my beard is becoming darker than it was before. Is this normal? If so, what heavy metals does it indicate that it is removing to allow the hair colour to return? I have been taking 500 mg of ALA, 2000 mg of ALCAR, 50 mg of zinc, 80 mg of benfotiamine and 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 per day(the first two are divided in to two doses). If it is not the heavy metal chelation which of the above is causing the hair colour to return and why is it happening? Can anyone shed any light on this phenomenon? Thank you, Al.

My hubby was recently diagnosed with ALS. Since then we have had him tested for heavy metals. He is high in Lead, Mercury, Nickle, Antimony and Tin. We are having his dental work replaced next week. In the meantime we are very interested in detoxing using the Hubbard method of detox (niacin/exercise/sauna). We want to find a center to detox at, in TEXAS. Any idea how we locate such a place? The internet is very elusive on the subject.

Hi Babs...Here's a link that gives addresses, phone nos etc to alternative clinics in Texas that do heavy metal chelation therapy, hydrogen peroxide IV, ozone therapy etc :

Doctor's and Clinics in Texas

I would perhaps also take some time out to investigate Ted from Bangkok's treatment for ALS and late stage ALS which involves taking high doses of taurine, cysteine and lysine together with low dose methylene blue and lithium. See this EC link for more details:

Ted's ALS Treatments

Ted also says this about ALS:

"In my treatment of ALS, getting them to live as long as they want is no problem, they can live as long as they want, my problem is trying to reverse the ALS symptoms, which is a big problem. The one thing that has helped the most is always pregnenolone 50 mg, DHEA (12.5 mg women 25 mg for men), and melatonin (at night 5 mg is the average dose I see that works fine)."

Epsom Salts as a full body detox

What is the proper dosage and lenght of time for using Epsom salts as a detox for the heavy metals in a person's body?

Epsom Salts
Posted by Zilverb (Seabrook, Texas, Usa) on 06/03/2012 16 posts

To detoxify heavy metals with Epsom salts you put one cup Epsom salts and 1/4-cup baking soda in a clean bath tub and fill it with warm to hot water. Sit in it and soak for twenty to thirty minutes. Rub the water all over you with a cloth, your hand, or even an aloofa sponge. Do this 3 times a week. When the time is up, if you feel like you need to shampoo your hair or soap up do it now. It is not likely that you will need to put oil on your skin; however, if you feel the need use a virgin oil such as coconut or olive. Putting commercial products on you that are full of unnatural ingredients is not the way to go.

Hi, against constipation there is a lot you can do: eat dried prunes, eat fruit first things in the morning (all fruit worked for me but the doctor recommended kiwis), drink a cup of tea or a glass of warm water first thing in the morning or a spoon of mollasses (eventually diluted in the water), maybe start using coconut oil in your diet? My intestines eventually learned how to work by themselves and nowadays I need to pay attention that they don't work too much.

Hey, BEST OF LUCK finding the right answer for YOU. Try googling Diatomaceous Earth. I have recently read some claims regarding both candidia and heavy metals. To get things "moving" I am anticipating the arrival of the dandelion and stinging nettle in my back yard, both claim regularity( so much more) with little or no side effects. I have been detoxing for years - its very confusing and theres so much conflicting info. I can see from hair analysis all metals have halved BUT that is disappointing for how much detox Ive done. I think a lot of them dont take it out of the body safely, stirs it all up and it reabsorbs elsewhere. Zeolite - I had a pre & post urine test. It showed no metals coming out. Therefore I dont believe it works. Does anyone have any info on alpha lipoic acid as sherry rogers recommends in detox or die?

URGENT! Anyone concerned about being poisoned with toxic heavy metals that include mercury, lead, lead paint and cadmium should really be doing a detox with the natural mineral called Zeolite that has been proven to safely remove these toxic heavy metals from the body of humans and animals! For more information do a search for the single word Zeolite.

How to use EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid)

I recently bought two 250 capsules bottles of EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) 625 mg at the Internet, when I tried for a week to my self taking it as directed in the bottle of one capsule 2 times a day it gave me some kind of palpitating headache at the upper left region of my head. I felt some pressures in my head blood veins and is vibrating at a certain frequency with pain. My main objective in using it is to chelate my body of heavy metals but have to stop using it as the pain is getting worse. The pain however went away by it self without medication after a few days of not taking it. I have read in one of your post related to cancer that you use this to help blood circulation with cancer patients. I wanted to give this to my wife who is battling stage-3 endometrial cancer but I am quite not sure that this will help her because of the experience I had with it. If you have any idea how to use this safely with out posting any risk to her life please let me know. As I have previously mentioned in my previous post my wife is having off and on asthenia and lost of appetite, which we wanted to get rid off.

Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide us. ----- aresem

I'm suffering greatly with my fillings and I think EVERYTHING is related to them and not until recently did I finally understand the connection. I have extreme mood swings, adrenal problems, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc. I've heard conflicting stories about having the fillings removed, I'm detoxing and they are still in, but wonder if anyone else out there is detoxing with fillings still in? If definitely isn't easy detoxing with them in, you have to go slow, and stay hydrated!

I'm also wondering how you are doing since you have them removed?

Hi Faithinhealing, After reading about the oil pulling & it's effects on detoxing, I decided to give it a go. I lasted one session & have never felt such immediate pain in my mouth. I have 2 old amalgam filling left & have just had 3 crowns (the ones with the metal inside) & an implant along with a bone graft. Everything in my mouth that had metal ached straight away (except the implant). It's very frustrating because you want the metals out of your sytem, but it hurts to detox... really badly. I will be having the amalgam taken out soon, but the crowns cost me a small fortune & not sure what to do about them. A dentist has suggested i need root canals on the newly crowned teeth, but I could almost buy a house for the price of all that dental work. Arghhhh. Stuck between a rock & a hard spot??

Dear Matt from Tallahassee, FL:

(or anyone with gallstones and amalgam mercury poisoning)

Matt - We seem to have lots of things in common: from living in FL to the the long list of M.D.s (I've been at it for the past 13 months to no avail). We even share the same symptoms--everything on your list, except for the doubling of the vision prescription.

Thank you for your post and all the great tips you included.

Hope you don't mind, but I have some questions:

1. Did you get your gallstones removed?

2. Did your chelation therapy aggravate your gallbladder symptoms?

3. What chelation method did you use after you removed your amalgam fillings?

I had my 1st gallbladder attack 6 months ago, but I opted to forgo gallbladder surgery (I have about 5-6 calcium based stones that I'd like to try to dissolve first, before trying to expel them naturally). But there are a lot of herbs that are contraindicated for people with gallstones.

Hope you're fully recovered from the A.I.

Thanks again for your post!

Your son is chelating you if you're nursing him. That is the most likely culprit and a reason moms feel so great after nursing. One should always have their metal levels checked before becoming pregnant and nursing. That little baby is the great chelator, sorry to say. I'd get myself checked out immediately to make sure you aren't causing it. And please if you are heavy metal toxic stop breast feeding, escpecially if you chelate.

Exactly ^^ Breastfeeding turns your fat into milk! Hello? Everyone has quite a few toxins and metals in their fat unless they happen to be cleaner-eating Amish.

To Lissa: you are right that babies are one of the best heavy metal chelators for adult women, which is one of the saddest and most heartbreaking truths in this world. Thus, to all the fertile women reading this today- take your health seriously, for the sake of our future generations!

To the OP: this comment is probably too late, but not breast-feeding your child would help reduce any potential symptoms for your child, since you are likely mobilizing any lead you have stored in your bones for breast milk production (it likes to partner with calcium in the body). You might consider securing another source of clean human breast milk... Breastmilk will help your son be his best, high or low lead levels, yours or someone elses. Chemical infant formula is no substitute for healthy babies! Google "La Leche League" or visit your department of public health for more information.

There is also a highly regarded homemade infant formula found in the cookbook Nourishing Traditions, by Sally Fallon (a book worth reading anyways)... best of luck.

Hi Timh- thanks for the dialogue..

I appreciate your concern and sensitivity to the quality of breast milk in our modern toxic world- there should be more public discussion of the risks and advantages of its use in feeding our infants. That being said, any research on infants is almost entirely unethical since they can't be fully informed of their participation and have their own choice, and thus it is limited. Current research has a concensus, however, that the benefits outweigh the risks.

I appreciate your suggestion of using melatonin for boosting glutathione- I recall that andrew cutler encouraged that in his (somewhat confusing) tome Amalgam Illness. I am also a big antioxidant fan- you are very right to include that for detoxification (my favorite local source of anthocyanins is salal berries, indigenous here in washington state).

I have read conflicting reports about how much toxins are flushed out during sweating, but none the less still enjoy the practice. This is a news report outlining a detox study being conducted at my alma mater: http://www.king5.com/news/Sweating-for-science-221725201.html

Thanks for sharing what works for you! It benefits us all.

@Hotlava: Thanx for the reply as this topic has reoccurred in my thoughts ever since the original post a few weeks ago; much deserving of more discussion.

As for the research (or lack thereof) you spoke of, further indicates the dangerous nature of this condition; it's not one of those blatant illnesses that garner public attention and response. Last night Bill Maher (on the Tonight Show w/.. ) noted this disparity between the recent chemical bombs unleashed upon civilians in Syria Vs Monsanto's non-labeled GMO's. This same problem exist in the medical community; the acute infections that require immediate medical intervention get high public alert status, while chronic illnesses caused by pathogens like Candida, mycoplasma, among others, are thrown under the rug and the struggling patient is recommended psychiatric medications or counseling as to their hypochondria condition.

So the only real markers of mommy-baby toxicity issues aren't apparent until the child reaches school age and is found to have "learning disabilities" or perhaps worse in cases like autism spectrum disorders. The variety of effects on mental function, behavior, and learning, and all with unknown etiology, makes the positive case for modern lifestyle or environmental cause.

The older and more obese the mother, the more likely (considering all other equal denominators like lifestyle or geography) the more likely congenital disorders.

As for treatment, this is yet another problem, because like Neil Young said "the damage done". So there is a really big need for awareness in terms of prevention. In my personal battle with a severe environmental illness, I have found Oil Pulling and Detox Foot Pads to be quite effective for helping the body remove toxic zenobiotics or heavy metals (outside of boosting antioxidant status). As for obesity, the body is blessed to have fat as an energy reserve, BUT this fat becomes a reservoir for toxin accumulation. As I might have suggested in a previous post, many people have great difficulty losing weight and I believe this toxicity factor is, to some degree, to blame. So, there is a holistic Dr Gittleman that has found breakthrough remedies in overcoming this problem, and so I very highly recommend her to mothers-to-be- and obese folks in general. She has a great web-site here: http://annlouise.com/.

"detoxing" can be quite a shock to the system & therefore affect your emotional state. there may be one ingredient in particular that is effecting your hormonal and brain chemistry. I've noticed for example, if I take too much Omega 3 or certain brands I can become more obsessive in my thoughts.

Much High Fructose Corn Syrup Contaminated With Mercury, New Study Finds

Brand-Name Food Products Also Discovered to Contain Mercury

Minneapolis - Mercury was found in nearly 50 percent of tested samples of commercial high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), according to a new article published today in the scientific journal, Environmental Health. A separate study by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP) detected mercury in nearly one-third of 55 popular brand- name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first or second highest labeled ingredient-including products by Quaker, Hershey's, Kraft and Smucker's.

Some infant formula is almost 1/2 HFCS. Similac Go & Grow baby formula, for example, claims "Balanced nutrition for older babies", but the first ingredient is 42.6% corn syrup solids. http://www.naturalnews.com/gallery/articles/similacingredients.jpg

Look up American Dental in New York CIty or go to a university where the students are almost ready to graduate as dentists. Under the supervision of a dentist they perform work on you at a very very cheap price. In NYC I had each filling removed for between 40-50 bucks at American dental. At the university my friend had all his fillings taken out for roughly 90 bucks and he had about 5 of them.

Get that crap out of your system. The cost down the line is extremely huge.

With regard to glutathione and taking supplements: glutathione is produced by the liver and acts as a blood cleanser. It is effective in removing toxins from the blood. I have read that stimulation of the liver through utilization of a coffee enema will increase the liver's production of GSH; therefore, will aid in removal of toxins from the body. This method has been used for years to rid the body of tuberculosis and cancer.

I found this web page detailing the procedure:

My ND used DMPS chelation at much lower dose because she wants to eliminate any side effects, then it was followed with glutathione to help the liver detox, I was told to later in the day to take multiple vitamin and mineralize. I was told 40% of people have a flu like reaction for few hours then it goes away. It is interesting that some peoples bodies will execrete the mercury, while other peoples bodies will store the mercury.

I'd like to know what other people tried for MRI gadolinium toxicity. I had an MRI with contrast agent 4 weeks ago and feel poorly I.e. dizziness, lethargy, brain fog, racing heart, headaches heat sensation, low bl sugar level and more. I'm desperate to try what other people have done to get some wellbeing back. Thanks.

I have seen others post about this cleanse on this website. I did do reseach about this cleanse because I was looking for a very good cleanse. People have posted on other websites about complaints concerning this particular cleanse. The tea is actually what causes the elaborate bowl movements. There is actually something in the tea that binds it in that pattern making it look that way. One lady talked about how because she had done the cleanse for the length they asked she ended up leakage issues. Please before doing this cleanse look up peoples complaints before acting on it. This cleanse is one of those too good to be true moments. I don't like putting down people's choices, especially since Robin's response sounds so good. Just be leary of buying stuff online from soarces you are not positive are good because since none of this stuff doesn't get FDA approved they can say what they want. I am a firm believer of much of the advice on this website so I am not against it, I just didn't like the comments I found about this particular cleanse.

Robin and Crista, You talk about a website about this internal cleanse but how do we find it? I'm eager to learn. Why doesn't EC have a means to contact each other without showing our email addresses?

May I know how much is too much to prevent overloading of organs when taking the recipe to leach mercury? What is a safe amount for a young child? ie 3 yrs old.

Does the recipe call for 8 cloves of garlic, or 8 bulbs? 8 cloves seems pretty small amount?

Oil Pulling

Hello Ted, I am very interested in trying oil pulling for my joint pain and suspected arthritis. I have some amalgam/mercury fillings Are you saying that the oil pulling will remove these fillings? Is it dangerous to oil pull with these fillings in my mouth? Will I spread the mercury throughout my body? I am taking ACV for the past 2 weeks for the joint pain and see some improvement for sure but my right hip is still very sore at times. Also is honey an important part of the ACV cure or just a sweetener?

Thank you all for such a fabulous site
Namaste

Biddy - not sure how you feel about taking wildcrafted herbs but Solomon's Seal and Mullein leaf are exceptional for relieving (and in many cases) eliminating all sorts of musculoskeletal problems (ie joint/ligament pain, arthritis, bursitis, cervical pain, etc). Like you I have amalgam fillings but haven't had any problems with oil pulling. None have come out to date. Ted recommends if you have been exposed to heavy metals like mercury it is better to take lecithin granules as this is a fat emulsifier that can "pull" the metals out of your tissues and organs as well as bind them more efficiently so they can be removed from the body via the stool.

Please also note - lecithin aids in strengthening the liver! I have been taking it - in addition to other things - and find it helps w/ my clenching at night and low energy levels.

But do consider learning more about the herbs to help w/ your joint pain. I used to have very bad neck/shoulder pain, along w/ a pretty twisted up right knee that wouldn't straighten for anything. It made me so miserable. I've only recently started the Solomon's Seal (as a tincture - 10 drops in 4 oz of water to start 2-3 times a day on a relatively empty stomach) and NOW have ABSOLUTELY NO cramping in the right knee whatsoever!! I drink the Mullein herb as a tea (I hope its ok to share but I use the brand Alvita). The combination is Mullein leaves and flowers (which is fairly standard). If your pain is really bad - I say use the tincture because it is more medicinally potent.

But just so you know: SS is great for rebuilding and healing fractures, broken bones and strengthening the entire musculoskeletal system in general. It can decalcify unhealthy calcium deposits and increase bone density. (Horsetail Shavegrass does this too (ie bone density) but it is an herb that is recommended to be taken w/i cycles - that is 1wk on/1wk off - the literature states it can be irritating to the kidneys w/ prolonged use.) But Mullein on the other hand supports the overall integrity of the body's mucous membranes. That is, it specifically helps to hydrate the synovial fluid surrounding our joints/vertebra so that the skeletal system can begin to re-align itself in order to return to its normal & healthy position. As a result, the corresponding and adjacent muscles, tendons and ligaments begin to release any/all built-up tension. I take both because of a minor fracture I incurred from a bicycle accident couple years back...was told by a chiro that I have calcium deposits built up around my C1 and C2 vertebra.

Stay well!

You might consider continuing to use sunflower oil with the addition of 1 drop of peppermint essential oil or tea tree oil or even both. Oil pulling is great for controlling the bacteria and other pathogens in the mouth. A great way to control periodontal disease and reduce plaque significantly.

Black tea and Green tea are very good for reducing mouth bacteria. Drink 2-3 cups a day. Hold it in you mouth a while before swallowing. White tea might even be better. This works.
