I would like to share how I cured my 89 year old mother from Alzheimer's!

Six years ago my mother was diagnosed by a very reputable specialist with Alzheimer's. At the time she had difficulty remembering things she had done that day. She would ask the same questions over a lot. She would say things that did not make sense and she had become quite angry and irrational. The doctor told us that her condition would continue to deteriorate and that within about 3 years she would not be able to function on her own (even at that time she needed full-time caregivers to remind her what to do).

I am a holistic health practitioner and so I am familiar with a lot of supplements, herbs and foods to cure different conditions. So I started her on some of the supplements that I knew about for Alzheimer's. These included Phosphatidylserine (PS), L-Carnitine, Tumeric, Ginkgo and vinpocetine as well as a multi-vitamin. Two years after she started this protocol she went back for a follow up appointment with the Alzheimer's specialist who had originally diagnosed her. He was quite surprised that her condition had remained the same for two years and not progressed as he said it would. I believe that these supplements halted the progression of the Alzheimer's. But we really wanted to see improvement.

Here is where the cure comes in!

I had read about studies done using Niacinamide to cure Alzheimer's. The studies suggested giving it in small doses many times throughout the day to keep constant levels in the bloodstream. It suggested giving an oral dose of Niacinamide 12 times a day! This is very impractical for my mother who struggles to take all of her other pills. So we ended up giving her a 500 mg. capsule three times a day with meals.

At this time I had also read about studies showing that high doses of vitamin A actually dissolves Beta Amyloid deposits in lab animals. The study found that it not only dissolved the deposits, but it did so in a matter of hours! The article I read which was published by a doctor recommended a form of vitamin A called “Mycellized A" in liquid form as this is better absorbed. So I also started her on the mycellized vitamin A.

After starting her on these two new supplements (Niacinamide 500 mg 3 times a day, and Mycellized Vitamin A 100, 000 mg. a day for 3 weeks, (then cut back to 20, 000 mg a day maintenance) we noticed a big improvement.

Later we added a couple of other things which I believe helped her as well. One of them is Coconut oil. The other is to make sure that she does not have a bladder infection. My mother is prone to UTI's and we noticed that whenever she got one that her mental symptoms would get much worse. So we have to make sure that those are kept in check. As long as we are doing all of these things she does great.

It has been 6 years since her diagnosis and instead of progressing her Alzheimer's is gone for the most part. She is now back to her old self. Her thinking and cognition are good. She remembers almost everything about her day. She rarely repeats questions, her attitude is so much better. She is not angry or unreasonable anymore. She actually has conversations with me now where she can give me helpful advice on problems I may have. She's back to acting like my mom again! To recap, I feel that what really helped her the most has been the Niacinamide and the Mycellized vitamin A, and secondarily the coconut oil and preventing UTI's. Please try these as they may work for you as well.

A note about UTI's: It is quite well known by nursing home staff that when an elderly person gets a UTI that it really affects them mentally. It can cause confusion, anger, and unreasonable behaviors. This is important-elderly people do not always have the typical symptoms on a UTI (frequent or burning urination, etc.) This is why it is so important if an elderly person is struggling with mental symptoms, especially if they come on suddenly that they go to a doctor and have a urine test done to check for a UTI. Usually they will perform a dipstick test on the urine at the doctor's office to check for bacteria and traces of blood. But if the dipstick test does not find anything please ask your doctor to send a sample of the urine to a lab for culture. This is a very simple thing for them to do. There are times that the culture will pick up an infection when the dipstick test does not. I hope that this information helps others who are suffering with Alzheimer's as my mother was. It is a difficult disease but I believe it can be cured with the above protocol. My mother is living proof!!!

My husband was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. His memory had gotten to the point where he could no longer even take a walk in our neighborhood without getting lost. He was even losing his ability to speak. We started giving him 2-3 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil in homemade hot cocoa (split into 2-3 cups) every day. This improved his memory dramatically. We then started giving him a mega dose of vitamin B12 (sublingually, under the tongue ones that melt). This has almost completely cured his Alzheimer's. He lost many family members to this horrible disease. We asked the Lord to give us the answer, and He surely did. If you are having memory issues, this is the way to go!

I will post every month, but my Father has severe Alzheimers, is 76 and it was downright scary. Forward 6 weeks later now, and three tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil each and every day, his symptoms have improved so much that I think we are all still stunned. I will keep this thread alive with my posts to let everyone know what is going on with his progress. I overcame gallstones myself, so our family has had a little awakening at how certain foods can have such a vast affect on our bodies to make them well again.

It's much too early to tell which way my Father is going as he is quite stubborn, but so far, it's hard to believe his progress. Will post every month or so and keep everyone updated, but today he did a happy dance that made us all burst out with laughter. If you could have seen him about 6 weeks ago, you would swear he was on his last legs.

My father was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We knew as far back as 10 years ago something was wrong. His sister just died of the disease a year ago. This is after my father followed the politically correct (lipid hypothosis) version of nutrition that forbade meat, eggs, animal fats... The very foods that nourish the brain. He also had a diet high in sugary snacks.

Once my father was "officially" diagnosed my parents began to finally listen to my diet advice. I have since put my father on coconut oil (building up to three TBS three times a day), phosphatidylserene and vitamin B3.

One theory of Alzheimer's Disease is that it is a type of diabetes. It has been discovered the brain makes is own insulin (sugar regulating factor, I'll call it). If there is a problem with the brain making it, or the cells of the brain not being senstive to it, then the sugar the brain needs for fuel will not be available. Cells begin to weaken and die. When enough cells have been affected symptoms appear, but the damage begins decades earlier.

The alternative fuel the brain can use (besides sugar) is ketones, produced by the body from coconut oil. (The other two supplements I listed with the coconut oil are important for strengthening aspects of the brain cells themselves, simply put.)

My dad also takes many other general nutritional supplements like liver (copper, vitamin A) and iodine (in the form of kelp, but I use Lugol's), eggs (minerals and choline, vital for the brain), meat, raw milk, limited whole grains, fresh vegetables, fruits (limited) sea salt, vitamin D, B12, cod liver oil (vitamins A and D), magnesium, vitamin C. He is in otherwise very good health (other than weight being low due to Alzheimer's Disease). He haas good BP, heart rate, etc.

Bottom line, Dad experienced a recent more accelerated decline due to the Alzheimer's Disease. He was becoming withdrawn, more confused, glum, grumpy, non-conversational, etc. Upon starting the coconut oil he showed a marked improvement in mood, concentration, socializing with some improvement in memory (more progress may be made long-term in the memory areas we hope). He has stopped declining and that is key.

Please do research on ketones and coconut oil and Alzheimer's Disease for yourself on the Internet and then try this for your loved one. There is nothing to lose and lots to gain.

Other neurological diseases such as Parkinson's also respond to the coconut oil.

I'm writing this post to give back to the community for all the direction I've received in the past for other conditions... Including the idea for further researching coconut oil for Alzheimer's Disease. I'm so glad I did.

As an aside, elderly folks often feel cold (as do some younger folks like me). A nice side effect of the coconut oil (and iodine) is a general warming.

How to make reduced glutathione for nebulizing:

HI U OLE PATOOTS DOIN, ORH here and I have another yawn to spin. Getting senile, so I may have told this tale before.

My Natural Doctor uses a Glutathione IV in his treatment for folks with dementia. He is cheap by comparison, but it is over $100 a pop. I first did this and then I went to compounding and inhaling with a nebulizer. I called a few months ago and my compounding guy said Big Pharma had the rules changed so you can now only get two weeks supply at a time. They are part of the carbol that is about to fall.... along with the demons in the DUMBS.

Since I's SJS, I researched and found an L-Glutathione Plus reduced product that I could mix with saline, nebulize, and keep my brain sharp enough to stay two steps ahead of D. You can find this product on the net and it is dirt cheap. It has the same sulfur smell as my compound stuff, so I feel good about it. I can only work about a couple of hours a day at the farm, but like Wildroot Cream Oil, a little dab will do you. I think I may be able to get our garden in again this year. Hooray, we will not have to go to the PIMA camps and get the vaccine. Maybe I get to live to see the end.

Alzheimer's and Fungus
Posted by Sweetorange (Larnaca, Cyprus) on 10/31/2015

According to a paper published this month (October 2015), http://www.nature.com/articles/srep15015, Alzheimer's disease is apparently associated with fungus in the brain. It is not clear whether the fungus may be a cause for the disease, or whether the disease itself may render the patient more vulnerable to fungal infection. In 14 out of 14 cadaver brains of Alzheimer patients, traces of fungus were found, whereas no fungus was found in the brains of 11 individuals without Alzheimer's disease.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17051898

Acetaldehyde is a toxin produced by fungus. The abstract for the above-linked study from 2006 states that, "In the presence of acetaldehyde, dopamine is converted into salsolinol, a neurotoxin involved in apoptosis of dopaminergic neurons." In other words, fungus produces a toxin which combines with dopamine to make a neurotoxin, which then causes the dopamine-making neurons to self-destruct (apoptosis is programmed cell death).

Some researchers call Alzheimer's "Type 3 diabetes", as the patients seem to have high glucose levels in their brains. It stands to reason that, in a high-sugar environment, fungi could thrive. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Hi Sherry, I see everyone asking for an update, I am not that person. But I can tell you what she said does work. My mother suffered with Alzheimer's also. I was very sad when she started not knowing who I was. It hurt a lot. So, I went on a tangent and searched for answers on my computer. I found the same information and started my mother on the coconut oil. It worked, but not without side effects. When I put her on the oil she didn't want to eat. When I took her off the oil, she would eat but would lose her memory. I had to go back and forth. Like 3 days off and 3 days on. I tried to explain to my mother it was the oil trying to tell her she is full when she's not full. But I couldn't get through to her. She passed the memory test 100 percent, and the doctor was shocked. She even answered questions I couldn't at 94 years old. So, the oil does work just to let everyone know. At least for my mother it worked.

01-09-13. Up date on my Dad, he is still doing very well.

Anon, First I want to tell you why I gave my Dad the lemon juice. I was searching the net for remedies for alzheimer and found a site that said Lemon Balm may improve people memory's that have alzheimers. The evening when I went over to help with my Dad so my Mom could rest and shower, he was being very mean to my Mom, and he was upset about leaving the house they had just move in, he would just keep talking about the house. My parent have not move they have lived in the same house for about 25 years. When I was there sitting in the living room with him, I remember reading about the lemon balm. I had never heard of lemon balm and didn't buy any, but I knew I had lemons so that why I use lemon. It was very upsetting to me to see and hear my Dad just losing it. My brothers and sisters were already thinking of putting him in a home since he was starting to be mean to my Mom... My Dad is 78 year old and I have never seen him be mean to her.

So to answer your question, his memory is awesome, he knows who we are, if I ask my Mom where are your scissors he will answer first and he will tell me where to find them. And again I give God all the Glory and Honor... Stay Blessed

Hello everyone, My dad has Alzheimer's and was having two bad days and nights of asking every few mintues to take him back home and that he move out of the house and wanted to know how the furniture got back to the house he live in right now. My mom had not slept so my sister called and ask if I would go and spend time with my Dad so she could rest for awhile... I give God the Glory and Honor for this: I cut a whole lemon in half and squeeze all the juice and pulp in a glass of water put sweet and low to give it a little taste with some ice and he drank it in about 20min he stop asking about the other house. And another 15 minutes past by and he said he was going to go take a shower and he got up from his chair and took a shower. Since my Dad have been sick he hate to take shower. Please try it, I saw this work on my dad so my mom and sister went and bought a big bag of lemons and will start a morning and night routine... Stay Blessed

Probiotics

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a tough disease that is growing each year in the number of people it affects. Unfortunately the currently available medications are not very effective at treating the disease process and are even less effective for some people with AD. It is estimated that 5.7 million Americans are now living with AD!

https://www.alz.org/facts/

With the Baby Boomers now in the senior citizen range, the number of people with AD is expected to reach unprecedented proportions that could potentially bankrupt are medical system because of the tremendous costs involved in the care of AD patients. These costs will continue to rise over time.

Given the poor prognosis for AD patients in general with the currently available meds that are unable to stop the disease process, we need alternatives to act as adjunctive help to go along with the prescription meds.

On that note, the following study shows that a 12 week course of a specific probiotic treatment was able to improve some disease symptoms in the treated patients. What is good about this study is that it is an actual human study as opposed to a mouse or rat study because those models do not always equate to humans in a like manner. A good example of this was the niacinamide mouse study that was done at the University Of Irvine California that showed almost complete reversal of AD symptoms in the AD model mice. The results were so good that a human study was done shortly after the results from the mouse study were released. Unfortunately the human study showed only marginal benefit at best for people with AD.

Here is a link to the probiotic / AD study:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5105117/

Another great point to this study is that the positive results were seen in just 12 weeks! It makes you wonder if a longer study period would have produced even better results. Another great positive to this studies is that other health parameters were improved along with cognition!

Probiotics have a good safety profile, are readily available and the ones used in this study are not the exotic ones which are almost impossible to find when you search. This is great news for people living with this horrible disease that affects not only the patient, but their family, friends and caregivers negatively.

Alzheimer's and Fungus
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Philippines) on 11/02/2015

Hi Sweetorange...For many years I have believed that fungal and mold diseases have been one of the root causes and main perpetuators of chronic disease that can also perpetuate as well as extend many other associated diseases because if its renowned capability of so soundly trashing the immune system using its special and unique weapons - chemical warfare(fungal waste toxins), hormone receptor disruption, biofilms, heavy metal accumulation, breeding with host cells, phenotipic switching (pleomorphic behaviour), disruption of the digetive tract etc. And once the fungus has trashed all that, it then lets in all its pathogenic friends into your body as well to join the party -- other pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, includiing its close and dangerous cousins mycoplasma and mycobacteria.

I've read research where there was a connection found between, heart disease, Dementia, Parkinsons, diabetes, leaky gut, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, depression from the effects of these fungal waste poisons in our bodies. And the sad part about all this is that the doctors are all still pretty clueless about the effects of fungus and mold on the human body. Doctor's are only every taught about drugs, bacteria, vaccines and viruses. They're pretty clueless about parasites as well from the research I've been read over the years.

Other things that I've been researching recently have also quite surprised me. Take spirochetes for example. This is another bacterial form that also has fungal behaviour. This means that spirochetes don't split into two when they reproduce. I watched a video which showed an immune system phagocyte ingest a spiral, corkscrew shaped spirochete in the blood. And then I saw the spirochete being digested inside the human phagocyte. Then suddenly -- bingo!! -- the parent spirochete was suddenly gone and it released 16 baby spirochetes as dark spores which then proceeded to eat and kill the phagocyte from the inside out. Our immune system is clueless on how to handle or stop these spirochetes. Check out this video and this video by Dr William Nordquist if you want some more hints and reasons for unstoppable chronic autoimmune diseases. These videos also try to answer the question, 'How do you kill spirochetes in the body? ' -- and the result from this research were very surprising...Colloidal Silver and iodine did not kill the spirochetes. Almost no effect at all. But honey and TCM did kill the spirochetes in large numbers. Can Lyme spirochetes hide in the same oral areas and gum pockets as ordinary oral spirochetes that cause gingivitis? Watch the videos.

DMSO

I found your site a few days ago after hearing about DMSO having the ability to do miraculous things. After reading all the information on here, I purchased the 99% pure liquid & 99% pure gel. In particular, I'm interested in using it orally for Alzheimer's & topically for chronic pain caused by a failed back & neck fusion. My father has Alzheimer's & my mom & myself have the chronic pain, but we are wanting to take it orally also. The dilution seems to be a subject that I'm not clear on, with so many using it differently & buying it in different strengths, to use both orally & topically. We used distilled water with the liquid for dilution to paint it on my mom's back & arms, but just winged it as to the strength. She felt unbearable burning on the places she DIDN'T hurt. We had to use a cold washcloth to wipe off the DMSO & then applied aloe vera gel. Strange though, the burning places didn't even turn red. We attempted to take it orally mixing 1 tsp in a glass of water. The taste was horrible! I poured some flavored Aloe Vera in with it, but could never get it palatable. We will have to get it to a palatable taste for my dad to drink it & us also!

My questions are:

1. To be most effective, what is the ratio of 99% pure DMSO/distilled water to apply topically & how should it be applied (cotton, spray, roller, etc...?)

2. What do I use to dilute the 99% pure DMSO gel & to what ratio?

3. What is the best way to mix the 99% pure DMSO liquid to take orally to make it palatable, especially for Alzheimer's patients?

I would appreciate all suggestions!

Thank you!

God Bless!

Timh:

You're talking about headaches and brain fog. I was having that and sinus stuffiness, aches and pains all over, chronic fatigue, depression. And more. I'm like the poster child for thyroid deficiency. But by a stroke of God's mercy I stumbled on EarthClinic years ago and discovered the benefits of vinegar and baking soda. I stopped using moisturizer on my face and the sinus problem went away within a day. I stopped using conditioner on my hair and the brain fog and chronic fatigue went away. I actually was having a bad day, feeling very unmotivated, cranky, and washed my hair later that night and washed off the conditioner and felt much better within minutes. I felt so much better I went around cleaning the apartment. I used vinegar and baking soda instead of body wash and the aches and pains went away.

Vinegar seems to be especially refreshing. Rub it into your skin, pour it over your head, inhale the vapors (carefully); I put the vinegar on my hair as conditioner and blow dried my hair. Applying organic raw virgin coconut oil to my skin and scalp is very nice, too. It gets rid of the brain fog and fatigue. But it makes my hair too oily to use as conditioner, and leaves the ends too dry. Vinegar doesn't work for the ends, either. I use hand lotion.

Even if your problem is a fungus, you might want to try quitting all the chemicals, cologne, dish soap (wear gloves), etc. for a week. You may feel a great improvement.

You might also like parsley. It is one of the things that greatly improves my mood. It has glutathion, vitamin C, and chlorophyll. I put it in smoothies, a whole bunch at a time. Cherries, parsley, and a spoonful of frozen orange juice concentrate is very good. Or parsley and lemon juice, but in two separate cups, not mixed together, that tastes terrible.

I also make a drink from artichokes, lemons, and ginger.

How to make artichoke juice:

1. First juice the lemons so you can keep the artichokes from oxidizing. Four lemons per artichoke is what I use. Save the pulp if you want to add it in at the end.

2. Pour the juice into the cup of your high power smoothie maker and add a quarter of a large artichoke. Stem, thorns and all. The stem has a beautiful floral pine scent. You can add a little water if you have to, if the machine makes a lot more noise than usual you probably filled it too much.

3. Blend the ever living daylights out of the artichoke. It turns the juice a very delicate shade of green. If you don't have enough lemon it will darken.

4. Then pour the mixture through a towel layed in a strainer resting over a large bowl. Strain out the pulp carefully, artichokes have thorns. I squeeze the towel to extract the juice, the thorns don't hurt my hands. I also strain it twice, just to be safe.

5. Pour the strained liquid back into the cup and add another artichoke quarter.

6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 with remaining artichoke.

You can add the lemon pulp and thinly sliced ginger to the juice at the end, and blend, otherwise the lemon pulp will make straining out the thorns nearly impossible.

Parsely, artichoke juice, lemons, cherries, green tea, raw potatoes, beans. Cottage cheese, plain yogurt. All quite good. Green tea, cherries raise melatonin. No peanuts, wheat, milk, sugar, tomatoes.

This older lady I knew, they said she had Alzheimer's. They gave her meds for depression if I remember right. She used to drink diet soda, she baked for her church bake sales, she made wedding cakes for people. So you've got the fluoride?, aspartame, the caffeine, the bromide, the glyphosate, the high carbs. And she lived in the goiter belt. Oh yea, and she was constantly getting her hair permed, which adds ammonia? and God knows what else. She was nearly blind and deaf when she died. She was a wonderful lady who deserved better than what she got.

They say aspartame breaks down into formaldehyde and wood alcohol. Don't drink diet soda. And aspartame causes inflammation of the pancreas. Wood alcohol will make you blind. But they'll tell you it's diabetes doing all that, not aspartame?

Maybe the people in India don't get Alzheimer's because they're too poor to drink diet soda. And coffee. Let me tell you about coffee. Coffee (from what I've gleaned online) puts your body in the fight or flight mode. At the same time it causes your body to retain sodium and excrete potassium. This is to protect your heart from dehydration. While in the fight or flight mode your body does not do necessary maintenance as it normally would. Things get put on hold. Like your immune system for example. If you are constantly drinking coffee your body never has a chance to recover and keeps burning the wick at both ends, so to speak. This would create a lot of fatigue eventually (called adrenal fatigue) and lead to increasing amounts of disrepair and inflammation. Your insulin is always high because caffeine raises insulin. Is this starting to look like diabetes? Now add aspartame to your caffeinated diet soda. You've got high insulin, chronic inflammation, formaldehyde, wood alcohol, high blood pressure, dehydration, and low blood sugar. Or do you prefer Splenda? They say 15% of Splenda is indeed digested. That means a tasty sugar and chlorine beverage. What's wrong with ingesting spoonfuls of chlorine? Right?

Rant.

But the sun is out today and the birds are singing. And EarthClinic is awesome :)

You might want to supplement vitamin A, E, and C, and take some omega 3s if you've been on the caffeine rollercoaster.

Alzheimer's and Aluminum
Posted by Ted (Bangkok, Thailand) on 11/01/2007 391 posts

Dear Diane: Actually, the Alzheimer's Disease problem has a lot to do with free heavy metals (from pots, pans, cans, aluminum foil, canned foods, metal packaging of foods, etc.) or excesses of free heavy metals of a certain kind.

This does not conclude only of aluminum, but also excess free heavy metals of zinc, copper and sometimes iron.

Most scientist view beta amyloid protein, which is found in the victims of Alzheimer's Disease patients to be high of zinc in amyloid beta deposits, when in fact these are more involved in the heavy metal removal from the brain.

The simple reason is that all free heavy metals are very oxidative a high concentration of something as copper and zinc, much like electrodes you find in batteries to help generate electricity from the electrolytes is very much analogous to the blood electrolytes and the copper, zinc and aluminum in generating electrical currents, removing the electrolytic properties from the blood electrolytes and actually shorting out the brain with electricity, causing a cell death in large amount, but may be protective against other viral and bacteria invaders just the same. This is how I prepare antiseptic solutions of copper and zinc, which kills virus and bacteria because of the uniqueness of copper and zinc to have electrical flows acting as an electrode, thus shorting out the virus and the bacteria in solutions. However this is bad news if free zinc and copper are found in high amounts in the brain, where we try to remove Alzheimer's Disease beta amyloids, but in excesses are completely overwhelmed and in such excesses, the oxidative properties of copper, zinc, aluminum and iron causes neural cell death.

As to the question of why certain metals, especially copper, zinc, and aluminum for example are implicated in Alzheimer's Disease I need some basic understanding of galvanic potential, galvanic corrosion, and electrical potentials of these metals to understand, where one metals act as an anode and another acts as a cathode. Once this is understood, then you know how these metals corrode the brain, or actually rusts the brain cells as excess heavy metals such as zinc, copper, and aluminum is very oxidative.

A simple dramatic example, is when you prepare your cooking, of something as innocuous as baking or even using ketchup on an aluminum foil, can cause them to increase the bioavailability of certain metals that are dangerous to the body.

One simple example concerns "lasagna battery" or cell, where a salty food such as lasagna is kept in a steel baking pan covered in aluminum foils. Kept overnight, the aluminum forms small holes where the salty lasagna is in contact and the food becomes covered with corroded aluminum. This is an example of galvanic corrosion, because the metal occurs whenever two metals of different kinds are in contact with the lasagna electrolyte, the two metals act as an electrode and a electrolytic battery it becomes.

The electrodes of two terminals of the battery becomes connected with the lasagna electrolytes as aluminum touches the steel, the electricity is shorted out and an electrical current occurs causing a chemical reaction on the surface of the metal that it contacts.

Now just imagine what happens if those free heavy metals were inside your brain. The Alzheimer's Disease brain gets shorted out as aluminum/copper or aluminum/zinc, or copper/zinc electrode connections occur. Since aluminum is quite high in electrochemical series, an aluminum becomes dissolved metal ion from the galvanic corrosion. It is the same if you cover your meatloaf with aluminum and ketchup creating a puddle of gray aluminum that you can accidentally ingest. But what happens if these very free metals are found inside your cell right now shorting out your cells with aluminum and copper or aluminum and zinc or even copper and zinc. When it shorts out, or the "shorting out process", this would lead to cell death or apoptosis that scientist note to occur in presence of free hydroxyl radical from the iron, zinc, or even copper. One French scientist years ago, was surprised to find why the sudden short lifespan amongst certain villages where drinking water were high in copper from the copper pipes they used, despite a healthy lifestyle.

Looking further on this Alzheimer's Disease phenomenon, it is best to close the issue with a person who watches T.V. Monday night Football (are they still doing it?) eating salty peanuts, potato chips and drinking beer. As his salty lips contacts the beer can with aluminum, the lasagna effect becomes apparent. The aluminum, while it is LOW in the beer can sudden increases tremendously as the lid on the beer on the opening is an exposed aluminum, suddenly shorts out with the saliva high in salty electrolytes.

The same phenomenon can occur just the same as you eat potato chips and the "salty electrolytes" of the mouth shorts out or as the metal braces of teeth, forms a weak electrolytic current with the cheap metal amalgam fillings consisting of mercury and the silver. As the silver forms electrical current with the metal of the teeth braces, the silver gets loose, releasing a toxic mercury. Electrical current ALSO forms whenever the amalgam of the teeth forms an electrical current as the stainless spoons from an electrical current with the silver amalgam freeing the mercury inside your mouth. The salty saliva acts as an electrolyte! A good science project just putting in salty solution with extracted amalgam with a stainless steel spoons and try perhaps with an aluminum spoon - perhaps it can dissolve a lot of amalgam this way - which enters your body in a much larger amount than expected.

Just imagine another Alzheimer's Disease scenario, a housewife cooks a healthy soup (with sea salt) boiling over an aluminum pots using a stainless steel spatula while she stirs over a hot cooker. The electrical current is formed as the stainless steel metals forms and electrical current, freeing the aluminum in your soup. I have always wondered as a child that if left overnight, an aluminum spoon, in a stainless steel pots of soup why this gray color (aluminum!) forms small cloud. Imagine what happens if this healthy lifestyle would lead to Alzheimer's Disease?

Current Alzheimer's Disease researchers are looking at implications of zinc as a role to Alzheimer's Disease, although I tend to look at free heavy metals in general. And if that is not enough, I have as yet to find the source of contamination of many other heavy metals that has found their way into the body that I am constantly seeing, such as uranium, radium, cadmium, arsenic etc. While it is not possible to find them all, what I can tell you is that, excess free heavy metals, especially iron, arsenic, uranium, radium, for example can lead to precocious puberty in children as well as accelerated aging. So the problems of heavy metals is not just confined to Alzheimer.

As a remedy to all this problem is malic acid removes aluminum. But I imagine the pH of the electrolyte solutions (your soup) can very much create free heavy metals more efficiently if the soup pH is below 7, or that it is high in table salt. SALT, should be added last, since the electrolytic salt reacts with every metal cookware, from cooking pans to frying pans to spoons, fork and knives on your dinner table, in presence of another appropriate metal container such as the aluminum and stainless steel. Hence, a salt should be added last when you are about to eat it and not during cooking.

Hence, drinking apple juice (removes aluminum as malic acid chelates out this), but of more importance is the chelating of free metal copper and free metal zinc that is presently being implicated as the cause of alzheimer especially the free metal zinc. The best Alzheimer's Disease supplements I can come out with to do this, is L-Carnosine 500 mg for alzheimer, as well as certain supplements such as oral chelators adding a small amount of EDTA, either sodium EDTA (the ones I like) or other forms of EDTA.

I have found that people generally are low in magnesium with the condition as magnesium is somehow protective and reduces the metal toxicity in cells and studies of people with heavy metal toxicity are more apparent whenever magnesium is low, from the Brazil studies in people with metal toxicity.

It should not be ignored that cooked food should relatively free of salt during the cooking processes, and be added only on the cooking table, but that I should minimized the use of metals during cooking, as well as avoid drinking DIRECTLY from metal cans. The availability of aluminum occurs when the aluminum is exposed during the drinking and the salty mouth contacts the opening, creating a larger amounts of aluminum going inside the body than the aluminum contents found in the beer itself, causing a lasagna effect or even the meat loaf effect, just the same.

Exercise

I was doing just that. I am 64 and overweight and happy to lounge around watching tv and resisted any form of exercise. About two months or so ago I started doing Dr Johanna Budwig's protocol and as the days went by I started to get more and more energy. Now I just can't lie around anymore as I feel I want to move and exercise. I can't tell you how good this is.

I was resigned to feeling more and more ill as the years go by, and now my mental outlook has changed too. Whether this is because I have more energy I don't know but I suspect it is. I have got my PT bouncer from its home in a cupboard and bounce three times a day. This is the most amazing exercise and because my hips and knees ache I am being careful, but this ever increasing energy has me putting on my iPod and going mad on the rebounder while listening to a Trance track with a fast beat. I am feeling better every day. Rebounding is wonderful. The more you do the better you feel. Hips and knees are taking it well. I was getting a bit weak and wobbly on my legs which made me feel unsteady. That is nearly gone and I have only been using the rebounder for a matter of days. I forgot to say I started the flax seed oil, flax seeds and quark regime for a painful lumpy breast and that went fairly soon into the regime.

Niacin

My father has been taking 325 mg of "no flush" niacin for 4 months. (I would like to see him taking more, but he takes a lot of medication and even getting in that one pill a day is a step in the right direction.)

I, and others, have noticed a lessening of his Alzheimer's/Dementia symptoms. He is less confused. He is sharper. As mentioned in another post, I just got back from a visit with him. We played cards. He played a spelling bee type game with my son. He would not have done these things a few months ago.

After my mother passed away four months ago, we expected my dad to decline steadily. He is doing so much better than we expected. He does have less stress now (watching your spouse die of Alzheimer's over the course of a couple of years is very stressful.) He is also getting regular exercise. Those and the niacin may all be contributing to his improved mental condition. Whatever it is, we are glad!

Coconut Oil

Use, Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), preferably organic. You can start with a teaspoon twice a day, and after a week increase to a tablespoon 2-3 times a day. NOTE: too much VCO may create a mild case of diarrhea.

It's easier to take if you melt the VCO first. Simply place the entire container of VCO in a pan of hot water. VCO becomes liquid at 76 degrees. Then you can easily measure out a teaspoon or tablespoon.

Essential Oils

Various essential oils have improved cognitive function in human beings in clinical trials. Jimbo and colleagues used a diffuser to deliver rosemary and lemon essential oils in the morning and lavender and orange essential oils in the evening to 28 patients with dementia (including those with Alzheimer's disease). After 28 days, all 28 patients "showed significant improvement in personal orientation related to cognitive function. " Akhondzadeh and colleagues using tinctures of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) and sage (Salvia officinalis) saw significant improvements in cognitive function over placebo in 84 patients with Alzheimer's disease over a four month period. Essential oils high in methoxyphenols (such as clove, cinnamon leaf, rosemary, sage, lemon balm, oregano, thyme, and laurel) appear to provide a particular effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease. These compounds scavenge peroxynitrites (convert them into a less dangerous form) and partially reverse the damage that they do to receptors involved in short-term memory, sleep, mood, smell, alertness, and awareness.

My sisters and I began to give our mother rosemary essential oil to smell four years ago (she has had Alzheimer's disease for seven years). This year we added many of the essential oil listed above. As a result of aromatherapy (she takes no medications), she can recognize her own home again, sleeps through the night, feels comfortable around relatives, has some short-term memory (can spell her own name, can sometimes remember the order of days and month, can complete sayings such as I scream, you scream, we all scream for... Ice cream, etc. ), and is much more alert and aware than before she began aromatherapy. Except for allergies or excessive use (my mother smells the oils for just a few seconds under each nostril every morning), there appears to be few side effects from aromatherapy. Essential oils are one of the few treatments for Alzheimer's disease that has worked both in animal models and in human beings.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry that I have not been on the site to answer questions. My password was not working and I couldn't find my post. But I got the problem fixed.

Some of you asked about the brand and amount of Vitamin A etc.

Here is what I used. Klaire Labs Micellized A drops. I gave her 100, 000 IU's for 3 weeks, then cut back to 20, 000 IU's for maintenance. Sorry about the typo on my previous post. It is IU's (not mg's). The doctor who wrote the article stated to not worry about the high doses of vitamin A. He says that he regularly puts patients on 100, 000 IU's or more for several months with no problems. But this protocol only calls for doing that for 3 weeks so you should have nothing to worry about. And of course the maintenance dose of 20, 000 needs to be continued for life.

Here are places that carry it online....

As for the coconut oil we try to give her 3 TBLS a day spread out throughout the day. We put in in her food over vegetables, on toast, cook eggs with it, etc.

Here is a super healthy recipe for using coconut oil that tastes like chocolate! The measurements are approximate as I don't measure when I make it.

SUPER HEALTHY CAROB COCONUT OIL RECIPE.....

In large bowl mix together about 1/2 cup (8 TBLS) coconut oil, 3 TBLS flax oil, a couple of spoonfuls of Chatfields Carob powder (put enough so that it doesn't look translucent anymore and looks like chocolate-if you put too much or too little it doesn't taste as good). Add unsweetened shredded coconut, and some cashews or walnuts broken into small pieces. Mix well. Then spread out on wax paper or parchment paper on top of a cookie sheet and FREEZE until hard. Then break off pieces and enjoy.

Hope this answers any questions. I will try to check my post for any future questions. Be well.

Hi Leslie,

My Father-in-law developed Alzheimer's disease, and he would also repreatedly say he wanted to go home, as if he was lost. My sister-in-law read that what he may have meant was that he wanted to go back to the way things used to be. You can imagine the safety and security that we felt as children around our Mothers and extended family, and for people who no longer recognize their own homes where they may have lived for decades, along with their spouses, a longing for that kind of childhood security would be very important to them. I found when I thought of his longing through this lens, it became more tolerable and I became more sympathetic. I understand how difficult this can be on everone involved. You are a blessing to your Mother.

GV-971 Seaweed

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease in the world and is a huge and growing health burden for our current medical system to deal with at great expense. Unfortunately, the currently available drugs are only marginally helpful for patients who are mild to moderate in terms of disease symptoms and their effects seem to be short-lived in many cases.

In China, they have been testing GV-971, which is derived from a specific form of seaweed that is abundant there, for many years for use as a treatment for AD. They have finished initial testing in China and GV-971 is now available there for people with AD. Currently, they are also doing additional testing in North America and Canada, but that testing is still ongoing. Here is a link to a description of GV-971 and what previous GV-971 studies have shown regarding its usefulness for AD :

https://www.alzdiscovery.org/uploads/cognitive_vitality_media/Sodium_Oligomannate_(GV-971).pdf

GV-971 has several methods of action, but interestingly, one of its main methods of action is manipulation of the gut microbiome to reduce neural inflammation and protect neurons, while reducing oxidative stress.

Interestingly they are just starting testing GV-971 for Parkinson's disease also as noted in this report :

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/green-valley-obtains-ind-approval-from-us-fda-for-sodium-oligomannates-global-phase-ii-clinical-trial-in-treating-parkinsons-disease-301461838.html

This is really good news because the currently available drugs for AD are only marginally effective in mild to moderate AD and their usefulness can dwindle fairly quickly in some PD patients or offer no benefit in others. Add in the known side effects associated with one of the more common drugs in this class of drugs, Aricept, and you quickly start to realize the importance of GV-971. Here is a link to side effects seen in some Aricept users :

https://www.drugs.com/sfx/aricept-side-effects.html

It is worth noting that they are considering further studies at even higher dosing in the future to find out if higher dosing can cause further or better response in people with AD. As far as I am aware, this is the first new drug that has come available for AD in many years in the whole world. In the human trials so far for GV-971 at the currently prescribed dose, showed a safety profile similar to the placebo group. In the trials for GV-971, it showed clear and sustained benefit when compared to the placebo group from week four right through to the 32nd week or trial end.

They have not said when the US and Canadian studies will be completed, but as soon as they are, GV-971 may become a reality here once the FDA approves it. For now, China has already added it to their "National Drug Reimbursement List " (NDRL) and reduced the price by 60%. The original price was RMB 895 ($140.16 usd) and was lowered to RMB 296 ( $46.50 usd). Generally, the US pays more for pharmaceuticals, so it will likely be significantly more than these numbers when it comes available here.

Alzheimer's Cause Theories
Posted by Robert Henry (Ten Mile, Tn.) on 05/29/2016

HI U GOOD FOLKS DOIN,,,,,,,,,,,, guess most saw the articles on the Harvard study that equated Alzheimer's with such things as the Lyme bacteria, etc.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/26/health/alzheimers-disease-infection.html?_r=0

http://stm.sciencemag.org/content/8/340/340ra72

The commenters on one article noted that the natural folks have known this for many years and the conversation went down hill from there. Now we are learning that the polio vaccine was developed using the Rhesus Monkey which had the cancer virus and the shot was given to 200 million Americans. That is the reason in 1900 only 1 in 100 got cancer. Now 1 in 3 do. As Pogo said, we have found the enemy and he is us. I can promise you that I will outlive you by growing my own food and not taking vaccine shots, nor antibiotics. Cancer has been solved using many protocols in the last 70 years. I am using 3 of these in my own case.

As I have stated in the past ........ follow my path and learn one way or the other. Also learned that the US has 8X the Alzheimer's that India does. What is the difference? Curcumin.

Alzheimer's and Fungus

Bill, thank you for your reply. Your description of how spirochetes dominate and thrive despite our immune system is interesting. And the way that they reproduce when under attack is scary.

Perhaps it's not surprising that TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) works better than anything else to kill spirochetes. Herbs have complex chemistry, many different compounds within their cells. It's hard for a pathogen to adapt to resist a complex therapy.

I would certainly agree with you Om about teeth and the dangers of mercury leakage into the body. But, for me, what comes out of all this in a more general way is that the oral cavity -- the teeth and gums region -- is a potential nest of vipers -- a pathogen haven that can be one of the major reasons for your chronic autoimmune disease.

Not only do we have to cope with heavy metals in the teeth, we have to cope with bacterial pathogens infecting us by leaking into our blood supply from bleeding gums or root canals. Also consider that the oral cavity is very near the brain blood supply, so pathogens (as well as the mercury) can leak directly into the blood and go straight to the brain(as Dr Nordquist mentions in the videos).

It also strikes me that you could have the perfect remedy for every disease and you would still be outfoxed by these pathogens. Because they can hide away from your cure in many regions of the body inclusing mouth, intestines, nasopharynx region (behind the nose), backbone fluids, ears, et al. Most people think -- OK I'm taking this nutrient or drug that will definitely kill this pathogen and people seem completely happy with that view. But nobody ever considers or asks the question, "Hey, why is my cure not working?" or "Why does my disease keep coming back?". It isn't working probably because the killer nutrient you are taking cannot even reach or penetrate the pathogen's hidden hideaway or fortress eg biofilms. Or the pathogen has adjusted to it. Or you have been misdiagnosed (think lyme disease and candida) by the doc. If the docs have failed you badly then it all boils down to us successfully doctoring ourselves with a view to a cure and not, as seems to be the doc's habitual advice, just to manage your disease symptoms with truckloads of expensive, poisonous drugs for the rest of your life.

Hello guys! The daughter stated it was specifically "Mycellized Vitamin A". That comes in liquid form. The site where I order my herbs and supplements has this form of Vit A. It comes in a 1 oz. bottle. The brand name is Kirkman Labs. It's not expensive but not real cheap either. Should be affordable for most people. Thanks & God Bless!

Coconut Oil

My husband and I take 2 TSP of coconut oil everyday. There is also growing evidence of its efficacy in treating Alzhemier's. Dr. Newport couldn't get her husband recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease into a clinical trial using the MCTs from coconut oil, she put him on 2 TSP/day about 2-3 years ago. She saw improvement almost immediately, and he continues to improve. If it can't be completely cured, I believe it's quite possible to at least manage it better using coconut oil.

My mom died from Alzheimer's Disease about 11 years ago, and if I'm one of those with a predisposition (APOE4 ), I plan to continue taking it.

Alzheimer's and Aluminum

October 30, 2007: does exposure to aluminum cause Alzheimer's disease? A friend's father (65) just passed away with Alzheimer's. His mother (63) died over a year ago with Alzheimer's. They were both diagnosed within 6 months of each other. My friend said that the nutritionist noted that both parents consumed beer on weekends and drank from cans. (Cheaper) Both parents consumed 6 to 8 soda's a day with cans. His mother cooked meat loafs and meats in aluminum pans for easy throw-a-way. If this is true, is there a remedy to remove aluminum from the body? My husband has quit drinking soda's all together.
