Liver Cancer: Treatment, Nutrition and Natural Support

Add New Post Comments

Liver cancer is a serious condition in which abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the liver. The most common primary liver cancer in adults is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which begins in the liver's main cells, called hepatocytes. Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, which begins in bile ducts within the liver, is another important type.

It is also important to distinguish primary liver cancer from metastatic cancer in the liver. Cancers originating in the colon, breast, lung, pancreas, and other organs can spread to the liver, but these are not considered liver cancer and are generally treated according to the cancer where they originated.

Earth Clinic readers have shared nutritional strategies, supplements, lifestyle changes, and alternative approaches for liver cancer for many years. Complementary care can sometimes help support nutrition, comfort, and quality of life, but no natural remedy or supplement has been proven to cure liver cancer.

What Causes Liver Cancer?

Liver cancer frequently develops in a liver that has already been damaged by chronic inflammation or disease. Important risk factors for hepatocellular carcinoma include chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection and cirrhosis.

Other factors associated with increased risk include heavy alcohol use, metabolic liver disease, obesity, diabetes, tobacco use, and exposure to aflatoxins, naturally occurring toxins produced by certain molds that can contaminate food in some parts of the world.

Having one or more risk factors does not mean that a person will develop liver cancer, and some people diagnosed with liver cancer have no obvious risk factor.

Symptoms of Liver Cancer

Early liver cancer may cause few or no noticeable symptoms. As the disease progresses, symptoms can include:

  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Feeling full after eating a small amount
  • Persistent fatigue or weakness
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen
  • Abdominal swelling or fluid accumulation
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Itching
  • Unusual bruising or bleeding

These symptoms can also occur with many noncancerous liver and gastrointestinal conditions, so they require appropriate medical evaluation rather than self-diagnosis.

How Liver Cancer Is Diagnosed

Evaluation may include blood tests, imaging such as ultrasound, CT or MRI, and sometimes biopsy. Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), a blood marker that can be elevated with hepatocellular carcinoma, may also be measured, although AFP alone cannot diagnose or exclude liver cancer.

Once cancer is identified, doctors assess the size, number, and location of tumors; whether cancer has spread; the condition of the remaining liver; and the person's overall health. These factors help determine which treatments are appropriate.

Medical Treatment for Liver Cancer

Liver cancer treatment has changed substantially with the development of newer local treatments, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. The appropriate approach varies considerably from one person to another.

Treatment may include:

  • Surgical resection: Removing the portion of the liver containing the tumor may be possible when cancer is localized and enough healthy liver remains.
  • Liver transplantation: Selected patients with early hepatocellular carcinoma and underlying liver disease may be candidates for transplantation.
  • Ablation: Techniques using heat, cold, or other methods can destroy certain tumors without removing them surgically.
  • Embolization: Treatments delivered through the liver's blood vessels can block a tumor's blood supply and, in some procedures, deliver chemotherapy or radiation directly to the tumor.
  • Radiation therapy: Modern radiation techniques can sometimes precisely target liver tumors.
  • Targeted therapy: Drugs that interfere with specific pathways involved in cancer growth may be used for some advanced cancers.
  • Immunotherapy: Treatments that help the immune system recognize or attack cancer cells have become important options for some patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.

Some localized liver cancers can potentially be treated with curative intent, which makes timely evaluation especially important.

Research Snapshot

Treatment for liver cancer is highly individualized. Surgery, transplantation, ablation, embolization, radiation, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy may all have roles depending on the cancer and the condition of the liver. Complementary therapies may help with symptoms or quality of life, but no dietary supplement or alternative protocol has been demonstrated to cure liver cancer.

Nutrition During Liver Cancer Treatment

Maintaining adequate nutrition can become challenging with liver cancer. Cancer itself, liver dysfunction, treatment side effects, nausea, changes in taste, and reduced appetite can contribute to weight and muscle loss.

Rather than following a highly restrictive “cancer diet,” maintaining adequate calories and protein may be particularly important. Smaller, more frequent meals may be easier for someone who becomes full quickly.

Dietary requirements can change substantially when cirrhosis, fluid retention, or impaired liver function is also present. A registered dietitian familiar with oncology or liver disease can help tailor nutrition to the individual.

Natural and Complementary Support

Complementary approaches are best considered for supporting the person undergoing cancer treatment rather than attempting to replace cancer treatment itself.

Depending on an individual's condition, useful supportive strategies may include good nutrition, appropriate physical activity, adequate sleep, relaxation techniques, meditation, gentle yoga, acupuncture, or other approaches aimed at improving comfort and quality of life.

Some complementary therapies have evidence for helping with particular cancer-related symptoms or treatment side effects. Their usefulness depends on the symptom being treated and the person's medical condition.

Supplements Commonly Discussed for Liver Health

Earth Clinic readers have discussed numerous supplements for liver health and liver cancer, including:

  • Milk thistle
  • Turmeric and curcumin
  • Alpha-lipoic acid
  • N-acetylcysteine (NAC)
  • Selenium
  • Vitamin D
  • Glutathione
  • L-carnitine
  • Medicinal mushrooms

Some of these compounds have demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immune, or anticancer activity in laboratory or animal research. That can provide a reason for further study, but laboratory activity does not demonstrate that a supplement treats liver cancer in people.

This distinction is particularly important with liver cancer because the liver metabolizes many drugs and supplements. Liver disease can alter this process, and some herbal products themselves can cause liver injury.

Antioxidants During Cancer Treatment

Antioxidants such as glutathione, NAC, alpha-lipoic acid, selenium, and vitamins C and E are often discussed in natural cancer protocols.

However, high-dose antioxidant supplementation during cancer treatment is controversial. Some cancer therapies partly depend on oxidative mechanisms to damage cancer cells, raising concern that large supplemental doses of antioxidants could potentially alter treatment effects.

This does not mean people with cancer should avoid antioxidant-rich foods. Rather, concentrated antioxidant supplements should be discussed with the oncology team because their effects may depend on the treatment being used.

What to Know

Tell your oncology team about every vitamin, herb, supplement, tea, extract, and alternative remedy you use. A product being “natural” does not mean it is harmless to the liver or compatible with cancer treatment. This is especially important when liver function is already impaired.

Milk Thistle and Liver Cancer

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is among the best-known traditional liver herbs. Its primary group of active compounds is known collectively as silymarin.

Silymarin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and has been extensively investigated in laboratory research involving liver injury and cancer cells. However, this research has not established milk thistle as a treatment for liver cancer.

Anyone undergoing cancer treatment should also check for potential medication interactions before taking concentrated milk thistle extracts.

Turmeric and Curcumin

Curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, has been widely investigated for anti-inflammatory and anticancer activity. Laboratory studies involving liver cancer cells have produced interesting findings, but clinical evidence has not established curcumin as a treatment for liver cancer.

Supplemental curcumin can also interact with medications and may not be appropriate for everyone, particularly at concentrated doses.

Can Diet Alkalize the Body to Fight Cancer?

Some alternative cancer protocols are based on the idea that cancer thrives in an acidic body and can therefore be treated by making the body alkaline.

Diet can change urine pH, but this should not be confused with changing the pH of the blood or a tumor. Blood pH is tightly regulated by the lungs and kidneys and remains within a narrow range in healthy physiology.

For this reason, a rise in urine pH after taking baking soda or changing the diet does not demonstrate that a cancer has been alkalized or treated.

Baking Soda and Molasses Protocols

Earth Clinic has received reader reports describing baking soda, molasses, or combinations of the two as alternative cancer protocols.

These approaches have not been demonstrated in clinical trials to treat liver cancer. Taking large or repeated quantities of sodium bicarbonate can also disrupt sodium, fluid, and acid-base balance, which may be particularly concerning in someone with impaired liver function or fluid retention.

Historical reader reports discussing these approaches are included below as personal experiences rather than established treatments.

What About Coffee Enemas?

Coffee enemas are another alternative practice sometimes included in cancer “detoxification” programs. They have not been demonstrated to treat liver cancer or remove cancer-related toxins.

Enemas can also cause complications including rectal injury, infection, dehydration, and electrolyte disturbances. These risks can be more consequential for someone already weakened by cancer or liver disease.

Supporting the Liver

With liver cancer, protecting remaining liver function can be an important part of overall care. Depending on the individual, this may include avoiding alcohol, reviewing medications and supplements for potential liver toxicity, maintaining appropriate nutrition, treating underlying hepatitis when indicated, and managing complications of cirrhosis or other liver disease.

More supplements are not necessarily better. A complicated supplement regimen can make it difficult to identify side effects or interactions and may place additional demands on an already compromised liver.

Exercise and Maintaining Strength

When medically appropriate, regular movement can help preserve strength, mobility, mood, and quality of life during cancer treatment.

The appropriate amount varies widely. Someone who is undergoing intensive treatment, losing weight, experiencing anemia, or dealing with advanced liver disease may need a very different exercise plan from someone with early localized cancer.

Even short walks or gentle resistance exercises may be useful when tolerated, but activity should be adjusted to symptoms and medical guidance.

Supportive and Palliative Care

Palliative care is sometimes mistakenly understood to mean that cancer treatment has stopped. In fact, supportive or palliative care can begin while a person is actively receiving cancer treatment.

It focuses on problems such as pain, nausea, fatigue, poor appetite, itching, anxiety, sleep difficulties, abdominal fluid accumulation, and other symptoms that affect quality of life.

Addressing these symptoms early can make living with cancer and undergoing treatment considerably more manageable.

When to Seek Prompt Medical Care

People with liver cancer or significant liver disease should contact their medical team about new or rapidly worsening symptoms, particularly increasing jaundice, significant abdominal swelling, vomiting blood, black stools, unusual bleeding, severe weakness, confusion, fever, severe abdominal pain, or difficulty breathing.

These symptoms can indicate complications requiring prompt treatment rather than a reaction that should be managed with a home remedy.

About the Reader Reports Below

Earth Clinic has collected personal experiences concerning liver cancer for many years. The reports below include nutritional approaches, supplements, alternative cancer protocols, and supportive remedies that individual readers have tried.

These accounts are preserved as reader experiences and may contain claims that have not been demonstrated in clinical research. A person's improvement after using a particular remedy does not by itself establish that the remedy caused the improvement, particularly when conventional cancer treatment was being used at the same time.

Readers considering one of these approaches should discuss it with their oncology team, particularly before taking concentrated supplements or combining multiple remedies with cancer medications.

If you have experience with liver cancer, we invite you to share your story below. Reports are especially helpful when they include the type and stage of cancer, conventional treatments received, complementary approaches used, and medically documented outcomes.

Aloe Vera

WORKED TEMPORARILY

I recently heard about this from multiple people as my dad was just diagnosed.

This website is very detailed: www.healingcancernaturally.com/aloe-vera-honey-rum-treatment.html
For a quick measurement conversion:

300 grams of Aloe = 1. 3 Cups

500 grams of Honey = 2. 2 Cups.

If you are having trouble finding aloe leaves. You can find very large ones at any store selling hispanic products in the section with fruits and vegetables for about $1.50 a leaf. One leaf will give you one batch.

Because it is difficult to measure 1.3 cups of aloe, we just began putting chunks (as described on the site) in the food processor and then meausured out about 1.3 cups. Very important 10 days on 10 days off. You do not want to take this consistently. I do not know how this will help my dad. In the first ten days he seemed to have a lot of energy. But he is still in the early processes of being evaluated medically. He will be undergoing chemo/radiation. I've been reading that taking the aloe mix will significantly reduce the negative side effects but then again, we are not at that point yet. I will keep you updated.

A close friend originally told me about this. Her brother was diagnosed with very advanced liver cancer and given a week to live... he lasted 7 months.

Baking Soda and Blackstrap Molasses

Hi my name is Tia Nelson my father had liver cancer and had surgery and got it cut out. Then last summer in Aug he went back to the doctors to check and make sure it was still gone after they cut it out and they told him it had come back so we were trying to find something natural for him to try so one of our family members got ahold of him and told him to try drinking baking soda blackstrap molasses and boiling water mix it all to gather... Now he was gonna go get treatment for it and they took one more MRI to look at it and then they were gonna get ahold of him to verify how big it was and where it was. So they call a couple weeks ago and told him his cancer was gone his liver was totally clear.... So we are sure that the drinks and what we were doing took it away..

So I want to share how to make the drink we were doing and how to do it I think with anyone with cancer should try this and really be positive and believe its working while you do it...

So in a coffee mug put 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses and boil some water then pour the water into coffee mug and add the molasses and baking soda stir and drink 3 times a day.

He also played tesla healing freq. they have to be 528 hz. He listened to it all day at the house and listened to it at night in bed while sleeping.

He also took 4 1000 mg of vitamin c, 4000 iu of vitamin d3, 1000 mg cayenne pepper, 1050 mg of maca root, 1 drop of iodine under tongue once a day, 1 tsp of silver biotics 3 times a day, immuplex 2 a day follow directions you can order on line... And there was prayer along with this as far as doctors say he is cancer free and they don't believe it so they are still testing to check and make sure.. My father isn't trying to convince anybody he just wants people to know what he did and hopefully it will help someone else just like it did my father. You have to try your hardest to stay positive through the whole thing and believe that its all working and that its going away every time you do a drink and listen to the music.

I hope whoever reads this that has cancer or knows somebody with it will try this thanks and good luck I hope all works as well as it did for my father...............

Tie Nelson,

It is good to hear that your father was able to control liver cancer using Baking soda and Blackstrap molasses. I have some information to share with you. Dr. Coldwell suggested the following three step procedure to treat any type of cancer. They are as follows:

1) Keep the body alkaline ( To stop the multiplication of cancer cells ).

2) Take Vitamin C ( To neutralize free radicals that may cause cancer. )

3) Take Chlorophyll ( To oxygenate all cells in the body. )

His advice is based on the premises that cancer can not survive in an oxygenated alkaline cellular environment.

Your father took baking soda and blackstrap molasses to keep the body alkaline. He also took Vitamin D3 supplements to correct any Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency will affect the absorption of calcium and magnesium in the body. According to webmd, three-fourth of cancer patience have low level of Vitamin D. Your father satisfied the first step. According to you, he also took Vitamin C that will neutralize free radicals that may cause cancer. The second step is also satisfied.

Hemoglobin is a part of red blood cells and it is used to transport oxygen in the body. Hemoglobin and Chlorophyll have the same molecular structure except the central atom. The central atom of hemoglobin is iron whereas the central atom of chlorophyll is magnesium. Chlorophyll will help to oxygenate all cells in the body.

Using the three steps, I have written a protocol for the treatment of cancer in EC under the title " ALKALIZE, ANTIOXIDANT, CHLOROPHYLL PROTOCOL FOR CANCER". It seems that following two out of three steps helped your father to control liver cancer.

Best wishes to you and your father.

Tia Nelson,

There are many methods to alkalize the body. Your father chose Baking soda and Blackstrap molasses to alkalize his body. If you happen to know the pH level of your father's urine (the range of pH values) in the morning, it will be useful for others to follow your father's procedure. This pH value is a critical indication to determine how much alkaline one's body is.

In my opinion, the people with cancer should avoid or reduce the consumption highly acidic foods like :

1) Artificial sweeteners.

2) Red meat.

3) Carbonated soft drinks.

4) Alcohol.

5) White sugar.

6) White flour, etc.

If one wants to find whether a particular food is acidic or alkaline, the following procedure can be used:

1) First determine the pH value of one's urine. Consume the food and then wait for 30 minutes in case of liquid food or about 2 to 3 hours in case of solid food to complete digestion. No food should be taken in the waiting period.

2) Take a new sample of urine and determine its pH value. If the pH value is higher than the previous value, the food is alkaline. If there is a significant increase in the pH value, the food is highly alkaline. On the other hand, if the pH value is lower than the previous value, the food is acidic. If the pH value is significantly lower than the previous value, the food is highly acidic.

I hope this information will be useful.

Best wishes,

P. Raghavan.

How can anyone take this baking soda mixture three times a day or even once a day. I did the blackstrap molasses and baking soda for two weeks and it raised my blood pressure up so high, that I was too dizzy to move from my chair between 160-170/105 -110. I don't tell my doctor about taking the BS/BS because they are so negative about any natural treatment they shake their head even as I speak.

My platelet has always been low with this liver cancer that my gum started to bleed when the high blood pressure goes up and I can feel my blood rush under my scalp bone. What information am I not getting with this BS/BSM. I try the aloe vera rum and honey mixture treatment that didn't anything. It's been a year since I try it BS/BS. I want to give it another try but very scared.

I am a single mom of a disabled, night time ventilator, trach dependent young adult and blind/hearing impaired with no one to care of her if I die. Just not ready yet to die she (my niece) actually stay by herself when I go for chemo treatment. I just get all her meals prepared, chopped, food shop and clean my apartment for two days before treatment because afterward I have little strength. My legs and standing ability has been weak for three years so taking a shower is also very hard.

To Carol, PA:

I use cooked or steamed or juiced organic red beets for blood pressure. It drops my blood pressure by at least 15 mmHG. In addition to dropping the blood pressure, red beets are supposed to be great for your liver. I would also try coffee enemas. That is supposed to help relieve your liver of some of the detox work that the liver performs.

My blood pressure is always up when I see the doctor for cancer check up. Making arrangement for more MRI, CAT Scan. blood work, and treatments before I see the doctor and waiting for the results is the worse. I hate when the nurse take my blood pressure and then ask why are you so upset, it's a nice day outside or other related comments. I have try the coffee enema lots of work couldn't keep it up and the aloe vera and honey gave me energy for a few days but didn't help with the cancer the honey is very expensive about sixty dollars per 10 day treatment plus must be taking forever. My palette level always low also I am struggling with bleeding gums. I am increasing my dark green vegetable salad and drinking papaya tea I which it will stay close to normal the few days I stop the tea and salad it just drop down again I can always tell when I brush my teeth even before the blood test.

Liver detox could be quite dangerous in this condition. I wouldnt go there untill the cancer is out. You might read the (e)book amazing liver and galbladder cleanse by Andreas Moritz on this topic. You might considder the baking soda / maple syrop protocol. (link to youtube below) while you totally remove sugars from your diet, the sugar receptors in the cancercells will be wide open to the hit you share with BS/maple, giving the BS the chance to enter the cell and remove the bad guys. As your liver will have to deal with any wast you create now, killing cancercells will give the liver a harder time then just cleaning them out. check yourself on candida and heavy metals, vitamins and minerals.

Long story short -he called me -5 years in remission; only one who didn't lose his hair and never got sick! Drs. saw this then privately had each patient add Cats claw to their protocol! Works.

So if it can do that let's see how it handles the immune system relative to psoriasis!

Dietary Suggestions

Read "The China Study", by T. Colin Campbell. Based upon a massive multi-year study of diet and health in over 6,400 Chinese counties, the book recommends a "whole-foods, plant-based diet". In rats they were able to turn cancer on and off like flipping a light switch, by changing their diet back and forth from the recommended one to one high in animal protein (similar to the typical American/western diet). This was regardless of carcinogen exposure.

In addition, among Filipino children exposed to chronic high doses of carcinogenic aflatoxin (from moldy peanuts in peanut-butter), only the ones whose families were wealthy and ate lots of animal protein had high rates of liver cancer.

Much, much more info in the book. Check it out, see what you think, and the very best to you and your family.

I just read about the value of K2 in liver cancer. It's from a book called Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox by Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue.

In it she writes: Hepatocellular carcinoma, a cancer that originates in the liver, is a common complication of hepatitis B and C. Vitamin K2 strongly induces the death of liver tumor cells, suggesting that it plays an important role in inhibiting tumor growth and invasiveness.

Natto (fermented soybeans), egg yolks, goose liver, hard cheeses (like Dutch gouda), soft cheeses (like Brie) are good sources of K2. There are others - you may want to do an Internet search. Natto is one of the best at over 1000 mcg per 3-1/2 ounces. It is, however, an acquired taste.

Ascorbyl palmitate (antioxidant) - 25 mg

I did feel a positive difference when first using this one.

Thanks, Timh, for the suggestion of the "Super K Complex". It's a much more comprehensive formula than anything I could find in a Calgary health food store. Cheers! Bess

Read the free 39 page ebook at chlorellafactor.com. Both chlorella and spirulina are good anti cancer super foods. She should take both of these to detox her body. Chlorella is very good for the liver.

I would take her off sugars and vegetable oils and wheat. Have her drink lots of green juices.

Google "Dr. Abraham Hoffer and cancer". He had wonderful results using orthomolecular medicine.

Hi Aliaslam and EC readers, a work colleague of my sister told her that he made his master research on Teucrium polium plant and he found that this plant is very powerful in healing liver cancer of the lab rat specially the kind which grow on the mountains. I pray Alaah to heal your mother.

My husband has liver metastasis; his oncologist said that he couldn't do anything more (thank God). We are doing the Bruess cancer cure fast right now. My husband has fasted for two weeks on this Bruess diet

I am concerned because his liver seems to be getting harder to the touch and he has been jaundice for three weeks, and his urine is dark. I am wondering if the extreme fast of nutritious fermented juices and teas has detoxed him too intensely, and his liver is very stressed. Have you had any liver cancer sufferers who have contacted you? I would like to get some advice (I'm not expecting you to cure my husband, just some good advice for a distressed liver).

Respectfully, Sarah

Sarah, hang in there! Read Suzanne Sommers book "Knockout". Its all about how to treat and cure cancer without using the terrible drugs and worthless treatment that mainstream doctors push on people with cancer. Natural methods really work! Good luck-read the book!!!!

Sarah, I read some time ago about the Gerson therapy and he said that when the body is detoxing too fast the liver have problems, so you have to do coffee enemas to help the liver. He suggest like 5 enemas every day. Hope your husband get well.

Sarah if you google Rene Caisse and read about her story. She cured people of cancer with Essiac (her surname backwards). I have watched youtube videos of her as well. In them she mentions that often the tumors would harden before they softens and heals

This from the attached link:

"Through her work with cancer patients, Caisse observed that Essiac broke down nodular masses to a more normal tissue, while greatly alleviating pain. Many patients would report an enlarging and hardening of the tumour after a few treatments. Then the tumour would start to soften. People also frequently reported a discharge of large amounts of pus and fleshy material. Masses of diseased tissue were sloughed off in persons with breast, rectum, and internal cancers. After this process, the tumour would be gone."

I think drinking aloe vera juice would also help your husband as would spirulina and chorella.

I would look into the Gerson protocol but I think you should research how to properly take organic coffee enemas as soon as possible. I think they can possibly aid at this stage. I would be careful with any kind of drastic detox such as a fast because your husband right now does not have a functioning liver (our "filter"). Coffee enemas will stimulate the liver to dump some of its toxic overload directly into your bowels without making it circulate back into the blood system. Do some research first though, call the Gerson Institute for help.

Best of luck!

Sarah, given that your husband has liver metastasis, more than likely his liver and the rest of the body is/was overburdened for quite awhile before finally ending up in this condition and is probably not working too well at the moment. Also given that the detoxification teas you are drinking are probably putting extra strain on an already over loaded liver. I definitely agree with others that a coffee enema would be very beneficial.

I just performed my second liver cleanse following protocol by Andreas Moritz in 'Liver & Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse'. I instantly feel better after each cleanse followed a couple of days later by a coffee enema which can be done quite easily at home. Livingsuperfoods.com has simple, easy to follow instructions on coffee enema.

Hang in there and hope your husbands gets well.

Sarah,

It is so very important while doing a cleanse so intense you should help aid the liver in the dumping of toxins, especially if it is already damaged and sluggish. I am on the gerson therapy and all the juicing and fruits and veggies pull toxins that have been stored in your cells for years.. They acually starve the cancer cells make them sick and die to be filtered out.

You MUST do organic coffee enemas. If not, the overload of toxins and cancer breakdown can reabsorb or even worse cause coma or death. The enzymes in coffee, known as palmitates, help the liver carry away the toxins in bile acid. The coffee is absorbed into the hemorrhoidal vein, and then it is taken up to the liver by the portal vein. With the bile ducts dilate, bile carries toxins away to the gastro-intestinal tract. I have just been doing the enemas for a few weeks and this is the first time in a couple years my liver hasnt felt pain.

Please look on youtube -watch The Beautiful Truth and Dying to have known.. You cant put a price on the information in those documentaries. I wish the best to you and your husband on his healing journey!

Sarah: Please be objective and open-minded and read Dr. Hulda Clark's "A Cure for all Cancers". Dr. Clark isn't mentioned much in the EarthClinic website or maybe not enough. She was a brilliant woman and her research in what cancer is from makes all the sense in the world. Her book "A Cure for all Diseases" has several cleanses that would help a lot of people. Thank you to all that contribute to EarthClinic.

DESERT, you are wasting your time with some of these birds. You can tell they know nothing about Clark's work and it shows because they keep referring to all the money she made selling her Zapper. Dang , she posted the electrical schematic for you to build yourself. I bought one off the net from a fellow down in Alabama because she did not sell them.

I know I have Demodex Mites and it is all I can do to keep them under control. I have written about this several times. If you buy into what Clarks says then you should investigate CEDSA. This test uses her parasite frequencies to tell you what you have, how long you've had them and where they are located. My wife and I are loaded.

For Christmas we gave our adult daughter the test and she too has parasites and Miasmas. Never heard the term, but it is problems your ancestors have passed on down to you in your DNA.

You are more tolerant of some of these posters. I can't say what I want to sometimes, least I be banned. Pore ole Ted and Bill have answered the same questions a thousand times. Their answers are in the archives. Folks just want instant gratification. =====ROBERT HENRY=====

Hi, Sarah; I am an undergraduate student in biology. I am not a doctor but one of the focuses of my studies has been several medical mushrooms that are used traditionally in Chinese herbal medicine to fight cancer. They have since been validated by every scientific study that has ever looked into them, which is hundreds.

Your husband needs to immediately obtain a supply of as many of these fungi as possible and take them regularly. They are not necessarily cheap, although some can be wildcrafted for free if you can identify them, but they are a far better bet than chemo and cheaper besides.

Ganoderma lucidum 'Reishi or ling chih', or Ganoderma applanatum 'Artist's conk' (much cheaper than true reishi but with the same medical effects. If you know what you are looking for you can probably pick it off trees in your nearest forest, I do all the time. ) This mushroom has shown strong abilities to fight cancer (through about 8 or 9 different mechanisms) but also to protect the liver from toxicity caused by cisplatin chemotherapy.

Inonotus obliquus 'Chaga'. This mushroom grows only on birch trees and the tea made from it is associated with extremely low cancer rates among peasants in Eastern Europe who were too poor to drink tea instead.

Lentinula edodes 'Shiitake'. This one is pretty expensive unfortunately and he would need to be eating it as close to every day as he can.

Pleurotus ostreatus 'Oyster mushroom'. Has demonstrated very very strong medicinal abilities in many tests. Cheaper than shiitake.

Grifolia frondosa 'Maitake'. Same story as the above, more expensive.

Any one of these will help against cancer, and the more you combine the better your husband's chances will be. Read the book "Mycelium Running" by Paul Stamets and any doubts will be dispelled, which is important for any therapy.

Good luck;

Michael.

When food/drink is fermented MSG is produced. Liver works to detoxify MSG/glutamates. So, you actually produce more stress to the liver. I would avoid fermented juices. Try gerson therapy. $10 book from amazon explains all you need to do therapy at home.

Protecting the Liver

Posted by Tony (Cooper, Texas) on 06/27/2008

According to alternative cancer pioneer Max Gerson, cancer only occurs in the presence of an impaired liver to begin with and any effective treatment, mainstream or otherwise, which destroys cancer cells will result in the release of toxins that further burden the liver. Chemo is also particularly hard on the liver and many supplements can be burdensome for the liver as well.

Because of the importance of the role and health of the liver, before addressing which supplements may best help your pancreatic cancer (and there are at least two which are very promising), you should consider taking steps to protect and regenerate your liver as well as protect and keep the bile ducts open so that toxins can be efficiently processed and removed from the body (a primary function of the liver).

Yucky as it sounds, coffee enemas have been found to be very effective in opening the bile duct. Coconut oil helps keep the bile ducts open also and beet juice is good for protecting the bile duct and regulating bile flow.

For the liver itself, milk thistle (silymarin) is the most effective supplement for both protecting and regenerating the liver and has been approved as effective at both by the German E Commission (their equivalent of the FDA when it comes to herbs). Lecithin with choline is wonderful for liver health and these herbs are also effective at protecting the liver: alpha lipoic acid, selenium and turmeric.

It should be noted that milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and selenium are the three anti-oxidants which were used in the limited Berkson clinical trial where three women who were facing either chemo or liver transplants had their livers restored to normal functions with those anti-oxidants and healthy lifestyle changes. Furthermore, milk thistle, alpha-lipoic acid, selenium and turmeric are all regarded as cancer fighting supplements.
