ACNE

3 YEA

[YEA]  09/15/2007: Anonymous from Bethelhem, PA writes: "For years I've suffered from moderate acne and just recently started getting cysts again after a few years without. I couldn't figure out why. I tried a lot of different solutions, nothing worked. I came upon this site a few months back and have had so much success with all my inquiries. TEA TREE OIL... Thank you to whom ever suggested that, my cyst was a quarter of the original size within 2 hours. By the next day completely dried out. Just be sure to use a small dab, to prevent over drying. It's very powerful. I've also started drinking a large glass of carrot juice everyday and cut out dairy, not sure if about results yet since it's only been 4 days."

DERMATITIS

1 YEA

[YEA]  04/21/2008: Shannon from Stillwater, OK writes: "I have been battling perioral dermatitis for about 6 months. I went to a dermatologist and was put on minocycline, which did clear it up. After 3 months of taking the medication, my doctor put me on doxycycline, due to concerns about negative side effects of long term use of minocycline. I could not tolerate the doxycycline, it made me nauseous and just made me feel weird, so I quit taking it and decided to look for a natural treatment. I found this website and began using a combination of remedies. I began taking pro-biotics, and evening primrose oil. I began washing my face with apple cider vinegar and baking soda. I also used evening primrose oil topically on the area of dermatitis. It seemed to be ok, until I got a cold. The area of dermatitis is around my nose, and blowing my nose constantly while I had the cold irritated it. The dermatitis began to spread.

I found a post somewhere about using tea tree oil. I had an old jar of Desert Essence Tea Tree ointment, so I began using it. I have used it for 4 days now, keeping the area covered constantly with the ointment, and the dermatitis is almost gone! It looks as good as it did when I was on minocycline. I think the probiotics and evening primrose capsules that I am taking may be helping too, but the tea tree oil was my "magic bullet." I have noticed that when I drink alcohol, the area becomes more inflamed. I'm not sure if this is due to dehydration, or the destruction of healthy bacteria in the intestinal tract.

I want to mention too that I have been under a great amount of stress, trying to finish grad school, and the dermatitis appeared during this time. I really believe stress and unhealthy eating habits/drinking alcohol contributed to the problem.

I hope this helps someone else out there. I love this website!"

[YEA]  02/17/2008: Claudia from Los Angeles, CA writes: "Tea tree oil really helps me to prevent herpes outbreaks. When i feel the infected area starting to become itchy, which is a symptom for me that i'll be having an outbreak, i apply tea tree oil 2 to 3 times during the day. This prevents any sores from appearing."

[YEA]  12/28/2007: Tina from Indianapolis, IN writes: "I was Diagnosed with hidradenitis July 06’ I have had terrible breakouts in the groin area from my bikini area to my anal area. I have tried everything to stop the breakouts, even bathing 3 or more times a day nothing has worked. Recently I went to a local natural food store and read a natural remedy book were it stated Tea Tree oil, pure tea tree oil will take out the staph from boils and soothe the pain. I tried it several times so far so good. It has a scent of eucalyptus and the same drying action like alcohol. So far it works"

[YEA]  04/12/2007: Sally from Washington, USA writes: "Well, let's see if I can describe this without being too unladylike. I had some kind of terrible itching "down there" which I think first started out as the result of an abrasion that wasn't healing properly, and then got worse because of a reaction to the ultra cheap toilet paper at work. This was getting worse over the course of several weeks.

I got some relief from colloidal silver applied topically. I did that for a couple of days and it was helping. Then I mixed some colloidal silver and some tea tree oil with some aloe vera gel, and applied that, it was way too strong, but even though it had a warm sensation and I wanted to rinse most of it off right away it gave immediate and lasting relief from the itching. The next day I took some of the too-strong mixture and diluted it in some unscented lotion (Nature's Gate brand, very mild). I have been using that for a couple of days after showering and it is amazing how effective it is. No more itching and everything is healing nicely. Worked great. Hope this helps someone, I sure love this web site, trying to tell others about it too. Thanks!"

ROSACEA

3 YEA

[YEA]  11/27/2007: Julie from Los Angeles, CA writes: "Tea tree oil can help rosacea. Not sure if it can erradicate it completely, but it does help kill off the adult mites. You need to use it religiously, every day. (I use it several times a day!) Since the demodex mites keep reproducing you need to keep applying TTO to keep the next generation from growing into adults. For example, if you only apply it one time, say, you may kill some for that day but the lifecycle of these stubborn mites is about 15-20 days. Also, try not to wear foundation makeup during this time, you need to get this out of your skin! Also, don't "feed" the mites by applying any nutritional things such as coconut oil, and other vitamin-rich lotions. I'm still doing research but this is the best natural way I have found so far. Try it!"

[YEA]  08/15/2007: Jessie from Houma, Louisiana writes: "I read a suggestion about using tea tree oil to help with rosacea, so I tried it. I'd used it occasionally for pimples, but I had never tried putting it all over my face. It worked like a charm! I still have a little redness which can't be helped because of the summer heat, but I haven't had any break-outs and my face looks much better than it did using the expensive creams."

SKIN TAGS

1 YEA    1 MAYBE

[MAYBE]  11/20/2007: Pam from Waukon, IA writes: "I have skin tags around my neck line that I used tea tree oil on. I think I overdid the oil as my skin turned red like a burn and is sore. I shouldn't have soaked a cotton ball and taped it to the area. Maybe just dabbing the skin tag with a Q-tip every so often would have been more than enough. I'm scared to use it again now. Does anyone know of this happening to anyone before?"

[YEA]  07/12/2007: N.M.T. from Somewhere hot, Florida USA writes: "Just wanted to note that I had a skin tag in my armpit for about two years and decided to put tea tree oil on it. I moderated soaked a cotton ball and did it two days in a row. The second day it turned black and a bit later with some coaxing, it fell off. That same week another popped up on my abdomen and I repeated the procedure and got the same exact results. There are no marks left behind, nothing!"

TEA TREE OIL FEEDBACK

7 YEA

[YEA]  08/05/2008: Suzi (sme41@aol.com) from Missoula, MT writes: "I have been reading much feedbackon this site regarding tea tree oil and placing a covering/bandaid over it to keep the oil in place and I am just baffled! When I place my oil on anything skin related, it just soaks into the location, no problem. In reading and research I have discovered that it is one of the properties of the oil that it readily absorbs...so I have never had it run or stay on the surface but stays put and QUICKLY goes to work sans bandaid, I love that about this wonderful healing oil!"

[YEA]  07/15/2008: Sandie (Praterkdz@aol.com) from Choctaw, Oklahoma writes: "I find that Tea Tree Oil is great for melting away WARTS ! I tried every cure from freezing to duct tape to cut it off with clippers. It always returned. I then tried Tea Tree oil. Would apply with qtip several times a day. I tried to put a bandaid on with the oil, but the oil would just melt the adheshive. In two weeks my wart was gone and never came back. Since then I have tried it on several relatives with the same great result. I am now trying on my sons acne and it seems to be working with no side effects or scaring."

[YEA]  04/08/2007: Anna Maria from Guilford, CT writes: "Tea Tree Oil has helped me time and time again! I first tried it when I got my ear pierced and developed an infection that just wouldn't go away - nothing worked until someone suggested tea tree oil. It worked over night! I also use it for acne (just dab on with cotton swab) and any cuts, scraps or abrasions. It cuts healing time in half! My latest use was for an abcessed tooth that was opened by my dentist to drain the infection...a few days went by and it wasn't draining so I soaked a cotton swab in tea tree oil and held it on the infect tooth and gum. Woke up this morning and the swelling and pain is nearly gone. Just amazing stuff that has some many uses - I love it."

[YEA]  04/03/2007: Heather from Santa Clara, CA writes: "Starting when i was very young i would get terrible athletes foot, so bad i could barely walk. I found out that all the messy creams help for short term, but it comes back. My mom heard about tea tree oil, which dries out your skin, and it cleared it up within a week. every once in a while i use it even when i don't have athletes foot just to make sure i don't get it again. it also clears up pimples you dilute about 1 drop with 2 of water, you have to dilute it if you use it on your face and a little bit really goes a long way."

[YEA]  01/28/2007: Xavier from Phoenix, AZ writes: "Tea tree oil as i found out is a natural antiseptic for all sorts of things. I found out I had gingivitis and i need help with it because my gums would bleed like crazy. Well i Went to Sprouts one day and found a all natural antiseptic called Tea Tree Oil. it came in about a 10 dollar bottle. All you have to do is dab the infected area and by 3 days symptoms of gingivitis should clear up and you will no longer suffer from bleeding gums. NOTE* alot of stores these days say they sell all natural products which is a lie. The best place to find these items at is a Farmers market or a health food store."

TOXIC TO CATS AND DOGS

1 WARNING!    1 SIDE EFFECTS

[WARNING!]  11/06/2007: Craig from Cumberland, MD writes: "Tea tree oil is toxic to dogs and cats. It is readliy absorbed through the skin and can cause breakdown of the nervous system, resulting in shock, hypothermia, and death. I know because I accidently poisoned my dog by putting about a teaspoon of tea tree oil on a tick bite. Hours later she couldn't stand, was disoriented, and shivering. I gave her activated charcoal by mouth and bathed her and rubeed the spot with activated charcoal. She got better quickly after the charcoal, and the vet said she was lucky. Do not use Tea Tre Oil."

[SIDE EFFECTS]10/28/2008: Jen from Maple Falls, WA replies: "Thanks to Craig from MD about the warning of tea tree oil being toxic to animals. I used it on my dog, and he reacted the same way Craig's did; and though I treated him for shock and hypothermia, I did not know about the charcoal. It really works to stop the toxic reaction!"

10/29/2008: Linda from West Newfield, Maine replies: "What you say is interesting; a teaspoon is a LOT...I've had success with just a few drops of tea tree around the spot where the tick's head is burrowed and within a few days it has dropped off."
