FACIAL EXERCISES

[YEA] 02/22/2011: Lynne from West Palm Beach, Florida writes: "I am amazed at how facial exercises can turn back the hands of time---at least in the face. I have been doing the "Ageless If You Dare" program of facial exercises for about 2 years now and people think I am much younger than my 55 years. It makes sense, we exercise our bodies to keep them youthful looking, the face also has muscles and facial muscles are what keep the skin up. I love the above-mentioned program because it only takes five minutes a day but there are other programs that I'm sure are also just as effective. Do a google search and start researching. You won't be sorry."
Replies02/23/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Hi Lynne, I bought a book called "Eva Fraser's Facial workout" but I find the exercises quite difficult so I just gave up. I just don't seem to find the right muscles! Is "Ageless if you dare" also a book? I might give it a try..... Being 53 I would also like to keep my face in good shape."
02/24/2011: Lynne from West Palm Beach, Fl replies: "Hi Francisca, It is a program developed by a lady named Louise Annette. When I purchased the program a year or so ago I got a book and a dvd (only available online) but I think she is updating the program and will be releasing the updated materials soon. If you google her name and "Ageless if you Dare" you'll find lots more info. I just love it. Take care."
07/05/2011: Carolyn from Renville, Mn replies: "I have been doing Facercise with some success, but the naso labial folds only disappear for about thirty minutes after the exercise. I am searching for a better one. I have always been feeling the effects of gravity on my face all day long, until today. I think it's because yesterday I did the cheek developer lying instead of standing. My face felt much more smiley today; lifted. I am going to get a few more books from the library on this subject , & will report my progress if y'all want. Unfortunately I can't get Eva Fraser's book.A note on the exercises to get lids to be wide open- The only one that's worked for me is the one from Timeless Face, but I alter the time a little, holding reps 6 seconds, 3 or 4 that way, & then an isometric hold for 25-30. My eyes stayed fully open today for the first time, even when I was very tired.
The Timeless Face exercise for lifting up the mouth corners has always worked for me- Carol Maggios exercise hasn't.
For an exercise for younger hands, go to Carolyn's Facial fitness site.
I have also started Tanaka face massage. This is free on youtube. It feels wonderful.
I did the facial acupressure (lindsey wagner's) for 30 days & had absolutely no change."

FLAXSEED OIL

[YEA] 11/11/2007: Linda from Melbourne, Australia writes: "Hi all, I have been taking flaxseed oil for about 3mths 4 tablespoons a day so i decided to use it as a mosturiser on my face, i do suffer from acne as well im 40 and never looked my age after about a week i noticed a difference in my skin and it started to clear up my acne its been 4 weeks now and i am so happy my skin glows and looks so healthy, people have started to comment how good my skin looks, as well as the flaxseed oil i use vco with it, it helps me maybe it could help others, you can find it in a fridge in health food shops cost $11 and last for couple months. Hope others find it good as well."
Replies09/23/2008: Janise from Los Angeles, CA replies: "Although Flaxseed oil can prove somewhat beneficial, it does more harm than good!!! It is like killing a fly with a sledge hammer.
Flaxseed oil is one of the highest foods containing ALA - Alpha Linolenic Acid. ALA is bad for the body!
ALA is a wet blanket for the enzymes that control the eventual flow of Omega 6 essential fatty acids towards the eicosanoid hormones. It knocks out both good and bad eicosanoid hormones. Knocking out the bad ones is good but knocking out the good ones as well creates a breeding ground for cancers!!!
This work is found by Dr. Barry Sears who wrote THE ZONE diet book. He won a Nobel prize in science for his discovery of the eicosanoid hormones and how they function. His advice to keep healthy hormones is to avoid all foods especially Flaxseed oil, which contains ALA. ALA is also found in egg yolks, walnuts, corn and canola oils as well as, Beef, pork and ham..
ALA foods, suppress immune system, increase inflamation, decrease oxygen flow and endurance and constrict airways while also causing blood platelet aggregation.
You may want to rethink your Flaxseed oil remedy. Like I said its like killing a fly with a sledge hammer."
09/23/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "Response to Janice: I think your error is in picking out one chemical alone and ignoring all the other fail-safe chemicals that our creator put into this plant. Most plants (even the non-hybrids) have a few harmful chemicals but other chemicals included in them make them safe to eat or take as herbal remedies. Hence my pokeweed berries that are supposed to be poison, but 40 years past first beginning to appreciate their good qualities, I have nothing but good to say about them although they are supposed to be poison."
09/23/2008: Joyce from Joelton, TN replies: "The below info on flax seed oil comes from the Federal Government's Data Base on plants compiled by James Duke, PHD. This is only a small part of information on chemicals in flax & their actions.I also wrote down some of the chemicals found in flax seed:
acetic acid 3,105 - 3,853 ppm (ACV is 5% actic acid)
alanine - antioxidant, cancer preventative
alpha linoleic acid l08,000 228,000 ppm
magnesium 3,715 -7,002 ppm
tocopherol 57 ppm (Vit E)
tryptophan, lysine, and other amino acidsI can also add that I have taken quite a bit of flax seed oil without any harm or unwanted side effects. Jim Duke's book "The Green Pharmacy" also includes flax seed and flax seed oil.

03/08/2009: Kaylan from Phoenix, AZ replies: "Re: Janise from Los Angeles, I am a student about to graduate with a B.S. in Dietetics (on my way to becoming a Registered Dietitian) and I actually just covered this subject: Alpha Linoleic Acid is Omega 3 essential fatty acid. Omega 6 is what we consume too much of in the Western diet and it is what interferes with the function of Omega 3. Naturally we are supposed to consume these two essential fatty acids in a 2:1 ratio, but in our diet the ratio is closer to 20:1. Due to the elevated Omega 6, all those symptoms that you mentioned (i.e. inflammation) are actually aggravated. Omega 3 (alpha linoleic acid) is very important and very beneficial, as it is important for the composition of tissues, membrane phospholipids, retinal photoreceptors, cerebral gray matter, testes and sperm. It also produces eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Studies have shown that increased consumption of omega 3 fatty acid improves a number of conditions and promotes general health. In summary, flaxseed oil is good for you. Your argument appears to be the opposite of what health professionals advocate."
05/23/2009: G8trGirl from Atlanta, GA replies: "Dr. Barry Sears has not been awarded a Nobel Prize. His theories were inspired, in part, by the 1982 Nobel Prize-winning research surrounding eicanosoids. This was NOT Dr. Sears' research.
There is extensive research documenting the beneficial properties of flaxseed and flax oil."
07/30/2009: Gem from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia replies: "Flaxseed oil is used to make linolium {lino used as a floor covering} Lino is oxidized linseed oil. Flaxseed/Linseed is a highly volatile oil (oxidises easily). If you must use it, only buy cold pressed oil in a dark bottle and store it in your refrigerator. Throw out any unused linseed oil after 3 weeks. Otherwise you will just be making lino on your blood vessels. The most volatile oil of all, is canola oil. The most stable oil is coconut oil."
01/29/2012: Spring from Israel replies: "Actually flaxseed oil can't be that bad. Many people use flaxseed oil mixed with cottage cheese to cure cancer. Read about the Budweig diet."
01/30/2012: Louwrence from Rustenburg, North West South Africa replies: "Hi Spring, Flaxseed is very high in phytoestrogen even higher than soya 3x, and estrogen dominance leads to a lot of problems in both men & women. Somebody in Canada analyzed the estrogen content of of foods. A lot of pesticides & virtually all plastic contains estrogens so we are are bombarded with estrogens because soya is just about in every product & camouflaged with very fancy names to confuse you."

[YEA] 07/11/2007: Marilyn from Snellville, GA writes: "At 52 my skin looks great - very few wrinkles - and I am reluctant to admit it - I'm a sun worshipper. I have taken 2 tbs of flaxseed oil a day for years and I also use it with any cheap face lotion. I rub in (currently) Suave lotion with a small amount (dime size) of flaxseed oil. Could be genetics - but what the heck - flaxseed is still good for you."

FOOT AND CALF MASSAGE
Ratings:
|
[YEA] 07/31/2007: Shirley from Mid, MO writes: "re: Fountain of Youth Fomula feet massage. I've been taking cold showers for about 4 months now and I have always applied virgin coconut oil all over, after blotting myself dry. I love the softness of my skin using this oil.
I also had the dry flaky feet. The first thing I used for that condition was a product called Feet Relief. It cleared it up after the first application and that was great, but it's so expensive to keep buying, so I decided to try the coconut oil to see if it would keep my feet soft as it does on my body and it's been great. I have been using it the same as you all are saying here. I first massage it on, wait a few minutes for my skin to absorb the oil and put on clean white socks. Your remedy is right on. No more dry flaky feet on me. I love this oil! Since I read this post, I'm going to try the foot massage with the tennis ball. I can't wait to see how that feels. It does sound great. Thanks to everyone that posts for all the great ideas for a healthy life."

[YEA] 06/07/2007: Nicole from Newcastle, Australia writes: "I came across the comment about massaging your feet at night with coconut oil and decided to give it a try, while also using the coconut oil nightly on my face. I noticed straight away on the first morning after doing this that the coconut oil had dried and shrunk the few blemishes I had on my face. It had also left my skin feeling lovely and smooth. The dark circles under my eyes hadn't disappeared but I felt that they were a bit lighter. After the second night of this routine the circles seemed lighter again. On the third evening I was too tired to bother with massaging the oil into my feet, so I just used it on my face- the next morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror those dark circles had almost completely disappeared! Thank you so much for this wonderful site. It's already been more helpful than years worth of expensive creams, lotions and potions filled with nasty chemicals :-)"
EC: Yep, we got lazy on the third night too.

06/03/2007: Earth Clinic from Atlanta, GA writes: "Massaging the Feet and Calves with Coconut Oil:
One night last week we started massaging coconut oil onto our feet at night to treat severely cracked heals. We ended up using the extra coconut oil on the calves as well. The next morning we awoke feeling very refreshed ... looked in the mirror and noticed improved skin tone, tighter pores and no dark circles under the eyes! Several more nights of massaging coconut oil... yep, same results. We also did the technique in the middle of the day and found that concentration improved markedly. This technique is obviously fantastic for improving circulation to every part of the body, including the face and brain!
You'll Need:
Coconut Oil (organic if you can find it)
Towel
Clean Cotton Socks
The technique: Sit on the floor with a towel spread out in front of you. Stretch one leg out onto the towel and start applying and then massaging the bottom of the feet with coconut oil... Reapply the coconut oil several times. Make sure to apply firm pressure to each part of the foot. Also massage your calves as vigorously as you can using one or both hands. Position your hand so that your thumb wraps around the calf. You are trying to improve the circulation in both the feet and calves, so try to apply as much pressure as possible without causing pain. We suggest you massage each foot and calf muscle for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Once finished with the massage, use the towel to dab any excess oil off and then put your cotton socks on immediately. The oil can get onto fabric, carpeting and wood floors!
Note 1: Get a reflexology book if you want to learn exactly what points of the body you are stimulating by massaging the bottom of the feet.
Note 2: If your feet are severely cracked, try adding 100% shea butter after an application of coconut oil.
Note 3: Be careful not to drip the coconut oil on your floor or carpeting as you apply it."

[YEA] 01/11/2006: Shala from Ashburn,VA writes: "I am 30 years old, but most of my friends ask me if I am still in High school. I have 2 kids, one is 6 years old and the other is 4 years, but I still look like a girl. I was not like this before, but after I started adding lot fruits and vegg to my lunch and dinner and eating in a timely manner, I lost almost 20 pounds in 6 months, and that didn't affect my glow, I usually see people loosing weight lose their natural glow in skin, But not me, as a matter of fact it improved my glow drastically....I even stopped eating non-veg and fatty foods. Trust me, it works like miracle...u too try... I never ever use any any cream or anything to my face, except for a regular daily moisturizer any brand with no grease in it."

[YEA] 10/17/2008: Hector Villanueva from Lancaster, Ca writes: "I was told by a friend that his father was and has been taking Garlic though diffrent methods,. Chewing, leaving garlic in Honey then after months of fermenting would give it to his kids instead of cough medicine, He also leaves the Garlic in Tequila for months and each night before bed he takes a shot. He's 81 years old, rides a bicyle and has a girlfriend who is 34 years old and is now pregnant.. I have personally along with my friends and family have been taking Raw Garlic for over 5 years and I havent gotten sick."
Replies[YEA] 04/29/2011: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "Garlic slows down cell production and enhances the immune system.. Thins the blood and is full of antioxidents.. In a male it can slow the production of sperm, making breeding difficult. If you are going to have surgery knock it off a couple of weeks before, or you might need tranfusions... Apart from those minor concerns, I've been taking it on and off for years and at 64 havent a line on my face... If anyone can get hold of the first edition of Omni magazine.. It has a raft of anti ageing tips.. One of the best was fractionated dna.. Left behind at the bottom of the brewing vessel and usually discarded.. This is about the only source of fractionated dna for stiching breaks in the dna sequence. It can apparently be made into biscuits. Basically it's broken and dead yeast cells. Well worth a bit of research!"

[YEA] 03/03/2008: Douglas from Springfield, Illinois, U.S.A. writes: "I'm 41 and people think I'm in my mid twenties, really.
I started using natural health remedies when I was about 12, probably younger. I learned about them from my grandmother who seems to have a kitchen antidote for all my summer ailments of fever, cold, nerve tonic; she even burned her own natural repellents.
I consider myself self- taught, and garlic is something I think no one should be without.
My studies over the years has lead me back to garlic everytime I treat an ailment for myself or recommend to someone else. From the common cold to prostate problems to longevity.
What makes garlic uniques is that it increases the potency of whatever you combine it with. For example if you take a multivitamin that has 500mg of vitamin B1, taken with garlic the potency of B1 will increase 5 to 10 times 500mg. It is the case with other essentials.
Currently, I'm taking garlic (including my multi) for a concussion after a nasty winter ice fall. Of course, I went to the hospital for treatment, nothing broken or torn, yet the pain and damage at the cellular level which doesn't show up on an X-ray, I know is there because of the dizzy spells and aches and pains I'm experiencing.
I know I need rest, water and garlic, for now."
Replies02/16/2009: Xara from London, UK replies: "An absolutely delicious remedy, that revs up the immune system, cancer fighting, higly protective of the cardiovascular system and is antiaging and incredibly nutricious and will impress at the dinner table:
Middle Eastern avocado dip:
take two/three garlic cloves, crush them to a pulp and allow to sit for 15 mins.
Mash up 2 large ripe avocados
add the minced garlic, two table spoons EV Olive Oil, tablespoon Tahini (optional) and two table spoons ACV and himalayan crystal salt to taste.
this can accompany a meal, or just dip into with toasted wholemeal pitta bread and raw sliced onions.
try it, IT TASTES DIVINE!!!!!! "

[YEA] 02/25/2007: CA from PD writes: "This is not my personal remedy, but from a lady that is over 100 years old. She says she has lived so long because of her faith in God, 1 tsp of cod liver oil a day, and a clove of garlic swallowed whole a day. She said it must be swallowed whole so that you don't get the garlic smell in your mouth or skin. I haven't tried that part yet, but the cod liver oil makes me feel better."

GOJI JUICE

[YEA] 02/15/2008: Marie from Cold Springs, NV writes: "I take a number of different natural products to stay healthy.
I'm a grandma in my mid 40s and have the energy to keep up with my 2 year old grandson. People always mistake him as my own.
They also mistake my son for my brother.
My husband and I both drink Goji juice. We've been taking 2-4 ounces 2-3 times a day.
It has helped in several ways. My blood pressure was a little high, at the borderline level. It is now down well within normal.
I've discovered that the flexibility in my neck and legs has improved.
I sleep more soundly (and my dreams are much more colorful and strange, heh).
The best results I've seen however have been in my complexion. It has cleared up a lot of my adult acne and my skin is healthier. I LOOK YOUNGER!
My husband and I often meet couples younger than us ... who believe we are younger than they are.
I have actually been called "Miss" lately!!"

[YEA] 02/27/2007: Vina from Calgary, Canada writes: "Fountain of Youth I'm always being told I look younger than I am or I haven't changed over the years. I just met an old male friend at the funeral of his sister. He looked at me all dreamy eyed and said you haven't changed at all and shook his head. My daughter looked at this guy after he turned around and said, hmmm I can see he cares for you. He heard her and said yes, I still do. I don't think I stopped smiling that day. I know my friend would have to a chuckle out of that one. I moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and keep a very positive attitude. I'm serious if I meet negative people and can't lift them up, baby I'm gone, I don't have any time for negativity. I don't like these two words (I can't) Keep them out of your vocabulary and move on and do the things you want to do. I'm blessed with very good skin, but you can look young even with wrinkles as long as your attitude is vibrant and young. No one will notice the wrinkles, they notice the life in you. Give God all the glory and you will certainly have a wonderful story."
Replies[YEA] 11/05/2009: Sandy from Abilene, Tx replies: "AMEN... I have always thought that no matter what if you surround yourself with positive people life is so much richer.. Oh, yeah and always smile, wrinkles or not. My kids can attest to the leave I can't outside the door I have no room for that."

[YEA] 01/24/2006: Eric from Chicago, IL writes: "After trying expensive french creams and bio engineered products I've just discovered home remedies on this website and I am grateful for the money savings and the new vitality!
What I use:
3% hydrogen peroxide - this is a great toner, but be careful not to get on your hair/eyebrows as it can lighten your hair color. Otherwise, works wonders on mild acne.
Apple Cider Vinegar - drunk twice a day has helped my energy and complexion. It has also helps me keep lean and slim.
Vitamin E oil - applied to soften rough patches of skin and on hands. Adds a youthful glow and lightens dark spots. Works great.
Last and not least: drink as much water as you can take. Not all at once...throughout the day and with meals.
I am 26 and often get carded when people don't believe I'm over 21. This could work for you too!"

HEMP AND ORGANIC OLIVE OIL

[YEA] 01/24/2012: Jparadiseoneluv from Decatur, Georgia writes: "I can really say that it has aided me in changing my life and it along with daily cold showers, has returned so much of my youthful vigor that it's scary sometimes. I'm 41 and I have the libido of a 25 year old. I've been using organic hemp seed oil and organic olive oil, sometimes virgin coconut which has healed a stomach ulcer. Those three made the real difference. I also make an oil that is a "treat all" blend consisting of all of the before mentioned as well as sunflower, sesame, avocado, essentials, cinnamon, peppermint, oregano, tea tree, and clove oils splashed into the mixture to target the negative energies that they do individually. However it is a hard pull and may send one into a healing crisis and that's not always convenient, It should be planned when one can sleep because you will be very tired and need much rest. My muscles are kind of "self toning" also. It also de addicts you from all sorts of issues. It will send you in reverse, kind of like the fountain of youth. Some say it will even change gray hair back to its original color. It definitely regrows hair that has stopped. All of my wisdom teeth have gone back inside of the gums and completely closed up. They don't bother me anymore.
I challenge you to take this time and re invent yourself so that you can make it through the difficult times that we all may soon face. I've never gone to doctors and I never will as long as you stay in the vortex of healing, our akashic memory will continue to be opened and truths of how we are supposed to be living that we already know, will continue to be revealed to us. Those who didn't make it here just weren't supposed to, but YOU however, were supposed be here to experience the new age of enlightenment where there is no binding to conventional wisdom. Enjoy the blessings you are given. Namaste~"

3oz's milk/Hemp Milk
3oz's water
1 tablespoon of molasses and add cinnamon.
I just found this site the other day and have been reading some of the letters and all of the wonderful benefits these formulas are doing for everyone. I love this site and I'm going to keep coming back and reading more letters and how people are being help with all these formulas.
I have been drinking A/C/V and water for a very long time but, had to stop because I was losing to much weight. I starting back about a month ago and lost a lot of weight again I weight 110 when I started and now I weight 103. I'm going to stop dirning a 16oz glass once a day. Now I'm going to drink an 8oz glass every other day. I'm only 5'1 1/2" tall so, I don't need to lose anymore weight.
I was reading where you guys use baking soda in your A/C/V I tried that yesterday in an 8oz glass and I really did like it. It takes away some of that vinegar taste.
Good luck to everyone, I love you guys for all of the great formulas that you have put on this website.

Stir till molasses melts, and once mixture gets thoroughly heated, sprinkle cinnamon to taste. No extra sweetener is needed."

JOY'S REMEDIES

[YEA] 02/15/2009: Joy from Solana Beach, CA writes: "I am fifty-five with long brown hair that has not turned grey (except for a few strands which I pluck...ha). And I look pretty young. I am often told that I don't look old enough to be a grandmother. Anyway, one of my beauty secret is SPROUTS. I eat them every day in my salad. I eat clover sprouts, pea sprouts, or one that is a combination clover, lentil and fenugreek sprouts. Sprouts have exponential nutrition. Also, I eat other fruits and veggies every day--a lot of them raw. (See cures I've had in third paragraph.)
I also take a couple of fish oil pills a day, and I am just starting to take a multi-vitamin again, B vits and 1 tsp or so of powdered vitamin C formula (2,000 mg)that al little calcium, magnesium, zinc, manganese and potassium...and bioflavanoids. And I make a fruit smoothie and include a heaping tsp of powdered wheatgrass juice...and I just ran out of my bottle of Kyo-Green (barly grass, wheat greass, brown rice, Chlorella, kelp and FOS).
Recently, I have added 1 TBSP of ACV twice daily, 1TBSP BSM (black strap molasses), 1 TBSP or so of Organic Coconut oil, a pinch of cayenne pepper (in my ACV drink), raw and cooked garlic, cinnimon, and cooking with spices such as tumeric, ginger, thyme, sage, rosemary, etc. to my regime. As a result of this new regime, I have CURED long-standing headaches and allergies. And I used coconut oil to cure a red patch that had been on my foot for at least months...in two days! And to cure toenail fungus, I am using regular rubbing alcohol (70%) that you can get in any drugstore and a generic brand of Vicks Vapor rub. All of my toes have cleared up except for three stubborn toes...that I believe will eventually grow out/heal. I also brush (frequently) my teeth with baking soda and rinse with a solution of 1/2 H202 and 1/2 water. I also take baths with epsom sals and lavendar and rose aromatherapy oils. And sometimes, I finish a bath with a cold shower.
And, I am still reading all the great posts on earthclinic...to get more information and ideas. Thank you SO MUCH for this wonderful site!"
02/15/2009: Joy from Solana Beach, CA replies: "I forgot to mention that I just started taking Lugol's oil (iodine)...a couple of drops every day or so. If you look at the "iodine remedy" on earthclinic or google "the health benefits of iodine," you will find very important/interesting info--including at YouTube.
I also just started taking Magnesium Oil (topical Magnesium). I read a couple of books on the importance of Magnesium. One book was called, "The Magnesium Miracle," another was: "The Magnesium Factor," and another "The Calicum Lie." Again, if you Google, "The health benefits of Magnesium," you will find very interesting info. Or if you go to Amazon.com and type in magnesium. You just spray a little on parts of your body: legs, arms, torso, etc. every day or so. Supposedly, Magnesium applied topically in the form of Magnesium oil is better absorbed...and supposedly, there are many health benefits. But be sure to educate yourself. "
02/15/2009: Gigi from Palm Coast, Florida replies: "Question: Where does one get the oil version of magnesium?"
02/16/2009: Rosy from Orlando, FL replies: "Interesting, I will be reading more into magnesium. I wonder if that is why I always feel better when I regularly take epsom salt baths. Maybe I will try magnesium oil and see if that works too. But I have read that is will act as a laxitive if too much is used."

[YEA] 02/13/2007: Emilia from Vancouver, Canada writes: "I am using kefir (fermented drink) for a long time. I am making it by myself. From the country where I am coming (Macedonia) it is very a popular drink and considered very healthy. But also you can find it in the healthy stores. It helps with constipation, regenerates intestinal flora. It is very good for the skin. When you apply on the face before going to bed, after few days you will notice the results. Clean and more firm skin. Looking very youthful."

LEMONS

[YEA] 05/30/2011: Birdy from Ankeny, Iowa, Usa writes: "I want to share with you a real help for older looking skin. Drink lemonade. Watch how your pores will reduce, skin tightens up and at the same time your skin stays soft and not too dry with elastin. I have tried so many different things and if they help fine, but this is one that I have learned I can incorporate into any regimen and it is the best toner you can do for the skin. Drink it if you are an older woman in particular. It is also excellent for killing off the feeling of a cold or canker sore. Youll thank yourself drinking lemonade. many other benefits, but for LOOKS its the one. Happy aging!!!!!!!!!!! Birdy"
Replies05/31/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Great advice but what do you mean by lemonade exactly? Maybe a silly question but different countries have different meanings for the same word. Do you mean water and lemon juice like we do in Portugal, or a fizzy sugary drink like in many other countries..."
[YEA] 06/01/2011: Birdy from Ankeny, Iowa, Usa replies: "I just drink lemonade with sugar, it also contains pectin, citric acid, abscorbic acid, lemon pulp, lemon juice concentrate, water, a few other things in it. I have noticed I like this one best, possibly cuz of the pectin. But lemon (experiment) will tone your skin. It can make you thirsty meaning dehydrate ya a little. So drink some water if it causes too much dehydration. I think of it this way without being scientific. What does lemon do? Puckers things up. Tightens and tones. It also cleans and whitens."

[YEA] 01/27/2008: Louise from Ocean Grove, Australia writes: "My Fountain of Youth has been lemon juice inside and out. I drink the juice of half a lemon in warm water first thing every morning and about six months ago I started using it on my face as well. Over the years I have tried many vitamin c serums and none have done anything for my skin. Also glycolic acid treatments either don't have any effect or irritate my skin. Lemon juice has both glycolic acid and vitamin c. Three nights a week after washing my face I simply squeeze a teaspoon of lemon juice into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together and then pat that juice onto my face and neck. I then squeeze another teaspoon and use this on my hands and forearms. This has significantly reduced any discolourations and made my skin smoother and brighter. The first couple of times I used it there was slight stinging, but my skin has adjusted to it.
My other Fountain of Youth secret is facial exercises and facial acupressure. In my early 40's I found that I was beginning to get lines and puffiness around my eyes as well as jowels. Now I spend about 5 minutes a day doing some very easy facial exercises and another two minutes a day pressing acupressure points on my face. The lines and puffiness have almost completely disappeared and the jowels have firmed up completely. I have also managed to get rid of most of the family double chin (we are all short, with short necks and a tendency towards double chins).
Lastly, dry skin brushing has made a huge difference to the texture of the skin on my body and definitely increased my energy levels."
RepliesEC: We wrote Louise, asking for more details
01/28/2008: Louise from Ocean Grove, Australia replies: "Hi,I originally used the chart and workout found in "The Natural Facelift" by Joseph Corvo. I always followed the acupressure workout but didn't really like the facial exercises. Another facial acupressure chart and routine can be found in "Eva Fraser's Facial Workout" by Eva Fraser. I do some of her exercises and prefer them. There are also much less detailed facial acupressure charts in the following two books "The Natural Face Book" by Juliette Kando and "The 10 Minute Facelift" by Tessa Thomas. All four of the books have their merits. In order I would choose the Eva Fraser, followed by the Joseph Korvo, then Juliette Kando and lastly Tessa Thomas.
Before buying anything get people to check their local library first. My local library has two of these. Then Ebay for the best prices before checking with Amazon. For instance the Joseph Corvo book is out of print and normally sells for a pretty steep price, so as all the books have their merits, go for the one which is most readily available first.
There are also hundreds of websites offering free facial exercises. Here, in my opinion, are two of the best:
This guy is selling nothing and the eye exercise in particular really works. It doesn't just tighten up the eye, but seems to help lift the upper cheek area.
These people are selling a range of skin products, but the exercises are well explained.
Hope this helps. it might be an idea to post links to the two websites, that may cut down on the number of questions you receive."

MELATONIN
06/28/2009: Jeremiah from San Diego, California writes: "I have found that Melatonin, besides being an excellent sleep aid, is also an excellent Anti-Aging agent. The reason for this is that Melatonin, along with vitamin C and E, is an antioxidant and prevents oxidative damage. Melatonin influences our biological clock, affecting the way we age, and controls sleep patterns. Melatonin levels drop as we age, which may explain why sleep patterns change."
