EC: Thanks for your feedback. Last week we asked our programmer to fix the Latest Questions page so that the newest posts fall to the top of the page. The section will get fixed in the next few days, hopefully.
We email Ted most of the questions that are posted on the Latest Q&A page and he responds to some, but not all, of these questions. Please let us know which question in particular you are interested in and we will ask him to reply...

I do have a suggestion that I feel would make the website a whole lot easier to navigate. When I do a search, and the results come up, I end up having to read through many, many posts to finally get to what I was searching for. My suggestion is to have the search words highlighted in the results so it would be easier to find what I am looking for....thanks."
EC: Thank you for your feedback, Lisa! We absolutely agree with you. Our web designer is working on a new design and a better search feature for every page. There is also too much information on every page (a critique from a few professional web designers/programmers who checked out our site recently), so we need to fix that issue as well.

When you have a question about something try google for it as in "sodium carbonate." You will get a large number of hits with some from Wikipedia. You can then read them for the answer that fits your situation. The Internet is an incredible source of good, and bad you have to decide, information."

But does the option also notifies the person who posted the comment to start with so that the person knows someone needs to contact them? I have struggled a few times lately because of not being able to contact someone who posted something of real interest to me but didn't answer my questions and people have said the same thing about me, the reason being that I never saw their posting (I tend to be away quite a bit.... and although I try to keep up when I get back if you have a lot of comments to go through sometimes you miss a few)! Or maybe the solution would be to click on the eye every time we post something ourselves...."

If they choose not to "watch" their own post, they won't get notified. I guess the next step is to add a "contact this member" option like on other forums, but we need to get the new design (plus ebooks, plus ipad apps, etc.) launched first!

4. This week our programmers are going to start to work on Francisca's request about being notified via email when posts are added to a thread of interest. This is a very complicated programming installation and will take us a while to build the application and test it out, but it will happen!

In the wee hours of the morn, my web designer added a new navigation tab at the top called "Marketplace". If the page you are viewing looks funny, just refresh it a couple of times to bring it up to date. Right now we are just selling our apple cider vinegar book on the Marketplace section, but plan to add Earth Clinic t-shirts (and perhaps some other cool items) in 2011. We also plan on refreshing the look of Earth Clinic in 2011.
Additionally, our revamped book review section is supposed to be completed today, so once that is up and working, we will be transferring all of the book reviews from Francisca et al.(and a new one from Pam that has yet to be posted) into the section. We'll let you know when that's live.

1. For those of us straining our eyes to read posts on Earth Clinic, you can now increase the size of the text on each page by clicking one of the three blue [A] buttons at the very top, right hand side of the content area.
2. A couple of weeks ago we added google's anti-spam program called ReCAPTCHA to our feedback/contact us form so that those with sight issues can submit posts and sign up to become members by using Recaptcha's audio link. Many thanks to Kelly from Clarkston, Washington who brought this to our attention earlier this month.
3. Our environmentalist little sister site, Earth Clinic Planet ("ECP"), is currently undergoing a major reconstruction and has been taken offline for the time being. We are revamping the site (completely new topic focus and design) and will launch the new site in a few weeks. We are very excited about the new ECP and hope you will be too!"

1. We fixed the url issue on the submission form. It's now just as easy to submit a url as it used to be! Please note however, that we typically end up deleting most urls because they lead to questionable websites. We are tightening our policies about url submissions due to daily posts from product spammers. (Note to T from Maryland, many thanks for recent heads up. Great sleuthing!)

2. On the submission form (http://earthclinic.com/contactus.html), the comments/feedback box now EXPANDS as soon you type into it. Earth Clinic works best in the most updated browser version, so if you are having issues on our submission form, please consider updating your browser to the most recent version (example, Internet Explorer 8.0).

Some times one wants to read his explanations, no matter what ever may be the disease, but I notice, there is no way to get there. I would like, with one click I should be able to go to the section where I can read all the posts he has written so far on this site. WILL MY WISH COME THROUGH."

"I'd like to see at the top of each diagnosis a summary of best cure (or cures if others come 10% close to votes as the number 1 cure) and exact measurements and frequency and duration to take it. Usually I just see a list of the names several cures and the votes they got and then lots of people writing and varying it that I get lost which is the ultimate solution to do down to the tee. Also it'd be nice to have a summary of what Ted from Thailand says under the general EC community choice. He writes so much and adds more and more that I can't keep up what remedy I need and how much and how often to take for how long. Sometimes he adds besides the main remedies, he lists lots of additional remedies that MAY help. I wish the summary for Ted on each particular disorder would summarize it all up to date if possible.
The site is great but sometimes its easy to get lost and apply the remedy.
For example, I'd like to see under say "Skin" a summary at the top before everyone is jumping with there random posts, some that leave out important details and some that go on an on and on...

(Add the BS to the ACV, after it stops fizzing, add water and drink)

Now its very clear to me the remedy and additional details and I can do it right away.
If Ted had something to say, it could be summarized too below it because sometimes Ted's remedy choice is different than EC community's choice.
Then if I want more details, I can scroll through what all the people's feedbacks.
Like you could do this for the top 10 killers (e.g. heart attack, stroke, septicemia), then the top 100 common diseases (e.g. strep throat to STD, high cholesterol, myopia, autism, candida) that we go to the DR for, then for every day health and beauty remedies (e.g. acne, moles, athlete's foot, dry lips, heavy mense) , then maybe specialized ones (e.g. mad cow disease, bird flu)
Also its hard to find Teds one hour flu remedy I once saw on this site. When I type in the search box, I'm surprised it didn't come up.
*There could also be a section on the basics of health (e.g. alkalizing, chelating, supplementing [especially of deficiencies] & a protocol for getting rid of candida [e.g. H202, borox, etc]).
*Also sometimes Teds comes up with cool ways to tell if someone is deficient (e.g. if skin is oily one may be deficient in zinc. If one has myopia, one may be deficient in chromium and/or vitamin D. There were ones for peeling lips, as well as dandruff, etc.). And also his heavy metal tester. What would be great is to maybe even have some videos of demonstrating how things like the heavy metal tester are done or the protocol for removing foot fungus (e.g. Have the ingredients out like a cooking show [e.g. the ACV and H2O2, then the Bleach and water, then the Tea Tree Oil and Vaseline and show it being demonstrated and the nail fungus clearing]). EC or Ted could make them or even open it up to the community to show well, document and have a video section and even an EC youtube channel with the best ones.

07/06/2010: Earth Clinic writes: "Because we have been receiving post after post with grammatical issues that not only drive a good number of us crazy, but also makes it difficult for foreigners to read our site (i.e., "i have been using acv to treat sinusinfections,it was fatastic,and worked within a few minutes.yahoo.i love acv,,,"), yesterday our genius programmer built and installed new code on our database that now fixes many grammatical problems after you click the submit button. You can see this cool new feature at work by clicking on the Preview button on the Contact Us form. He also installed a Spell Check feature. Needless to say, we are totally thrilled as it has become very time consuming trying to fix these posts.

NEW FORUM...
Several contributors have been asking for a forum lately (thanks T and Carolyn!) so they can more easily communicate with the EC community while keeping email addresses private. We are now researching forum software and also how a forum would integrate into the existing setup of Earth Clinic. We definitely don't want to lose the YEA/NAY ratings sytem which has made this site so unique, so the forum will be an additional element.
If you have any ideas or visions about adding a forum to EC, please let us know! Or if you have a forum that you absolutely love and would us to check out for ideas, please send the url along.

The Yes/Nay system is not only unique but we can always be sure that the postings are filtered by EC and we don't have to go through a whole lots of non productive chatting (or junks) to get to bottom of the issue. Maybe EC can have a "Private Message" function, registered members can send private messages to each other they can then exchange their email addresses through that."

However, the private message function rather defeats the purpose of the site as others do not get the benefit of the things learned by individuals searching for cures (or, at least, relief). Has anyone had a bad experience from putting their email addresses on this site?

EC: Yes! Last month a spammer rounded up all the visible email addresses on Earth Clinic and started sending out daily messages to members that they had seen their "profile" on Earth Clinic and wanted to get to know them. A bunch of people then asked to have their email addresses removed from the site when they started to receive spam emails, which wasn't an issue. Getting Google to remove email addresses from its search results quickly has been an issue!
10/22/2009: Dianna from Citrus Heights, Ca replies: "I would like to request that there be a section where you list dosage recommendations for the many cures you list, how to take it, possible side effects and contraindications in certain groups of folks, as well as where you might find the products you recommend...all of this separate from the feedback responses. I see many folks write in with different ways and dosages of taking apple cider vinegar and/or hydrogen peroxide, for instance, which is confusing to someone like myself who wants to try some of these cures. Ted recommends taking baking soda with the cider vinegar to alkalize the body but many people use ACV without the baking soda. Wouldn't taking it without the baking soda adversely affect someone like myself who has Crohn's disease, GERD and diverticulosis? Wouldn't taking the ACV without baking soda mean that you are not alkalizing the body?
There are also many, many questions being asked but rarely answered. Will those be answered in time by Ted or EC? I'm very interested in some of these questions as they are often questions I would like to ask but I don't want to be repetitive if they are asked and awaiting an answer.
I absolutely love your site and have been recommending it to everyone (and I mean EVERYONE!) I talk to. I've bought many of the products recommended but am reluctant to start using some of them until I have better clarification of the how to's and what not to do. Thanks for the opportunity to suggest recommendations!"
EC: Hi Dianna. Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, a few people have asked us for such a thing over the years! We will add it to our "need to do" list, along with some instructional videos.

Truth be told, I like the way the site is currently set up and am not yet completely sold on adding a forum! Call me old-fashioned, behind the times, etc. Okay!

11/02/2009: Angie from Jersey City, Nj, USA replies: "One potential problem that might arise with adding a "forum" feature is that members might bypass adding their feedback to the earthclinic website, and just communicate with each other privately, which would start to dilute the quality of earthclinic website."

At this point, I feel I need to say this publicly as I believe you are extremely aggresive in some of your posts and offensive as well. I hesitated at first since you have not addressed me pointedly but now I feel you must really read some of your posts. As for the "Church" thing- that is your own projection. I for one, stand alone in my research and choices and have made some pretty strong decisions all based on my own research-not from someone dictating to me. I understand you being adamant about everyone really researching before they make a decision but you cannot control that. There is much information here and I believe that each person has a responsibility in their personal choices. Please understand that much of your information is good but you need to stop with the accusations and finger pointing. As for Ted and Joyce, they wish to only help others from all that I have read on here and I am on here everyday learning and trying to help others as well. I don't agree with everything on here but there is so much wonderful info that I have benefited from as well as many others. Please chill out."

In order to make a decision regarding the health of myself and that my family I must be given CHOICES. It is then up to me to researh to the best of my ability before making a decision.
