12/28/2010: Missourita from St. Louis, Missouri, United States: "Last night I took my first dose of lime and baking soda (for candida, as suggested on EC). Since then, my urine has been very cloudy. I'm assuming this is because of the baking soda? Does this mean I'm taking too much? Is this something I should be concerned about? I just took another dose and made sure I only put 1/2 tsp. Thanks!"Replies
12/29/2010: Self from Ny replies: "Cloudy urine after using and alkalizing remedy was once addressed on this "Ted's Alkalizing Formulas Page" by "Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines" on 02/25/2010:
"Cloudy urine can be caused by many things -- bacteria, excess blood proteins, excess minerals or even lack of Vitamin C. To see all the causes of cloudy urine, just type 'ted cloudy urine' in the search box at the top right of this page and this will show you all the ailments and causes that it relates to in another tab in your browser. "
When you add the baking soda to the lime juice (before adding the water), just keep adding until the fizzing stops. If you are sodium sensitive, try adding just 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in the beginning and build up until the lime juice stops fizzing?
Make sure you're not dehydrated and you're drinking enough water, especially when taking an alkalizing remedy. "Just about everyone experiences cloudy urine from time to time. In some instances, the condition of the urine is simply the result of some type of food or drink recently consumed. When that is the case, there is no cause for alarm. Cloudy urine can also be a sign of a more serious issue that should be addressed quickly, however. See http://www.wisegeek.com/what-causes-cloudy-urine.htm"
12/27/2010: Missourita from St. Louis, Missouri, United States: "Is there a difference between real whole limes and real bottled lime juice? Or do they lose some nutritional benefit once they've been juiced? I can buy organic refrigerated lime juice and use that instead of whole limes, which gets expensive. Will that work just as well with the baking soda? Thanks!"Replies
12/27/2010: Self from Ny, NY replies: "Bottled lime juice is pasteurized and kills the live enzymes which are part of what makes fresh lime juice so healthy. You could substitute it but it would be significantly inferior. In fact, pasteurization usually makes a drink more acidic. If you want better health, you want to consume more alkaline foods and drinks (e.g. fresh lime juice)."
12/28/2010: Lily from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia replies: "Hi Missourita, I think your bottled organic lime juice would be ok but real fresh limes do still have the enzymes in them if used straight away. That is probably the main difference. You can google this information or find it in the juicing sites. Hope this helps. Lily."
[YEA] 05/22/2007: Tom from Midland, Texas: "I had torn scar tissue on a ligament (old injury) in my right Buttock, which for weeks had caused severe pain when I walked. It was like an ice pick thrust into my hip. Having read about Lime juice buffered with Baking Soda I tried this Remedy two nights ago and awoke painfree and energectic the next morning. Unfortunately I had so much energy that I overdid it! Now, I have some tenderness at the site and in my back muscles but the sharp pain is still gone. The only negative effect is that I am dealing with frequent urination and diarrhea. I will continue the course of Lime juice and Baking Soda for 5 days and then rest for two. Thanks, Tom"Replies

01/07/2011: Randy from Jersey City, Nj, Usa replies: "That is a good question from brooklyn... How long does one wait to eat after this remedy? thanks"
01/21/2011: Suffering For 3 Yrs from Southern, Ohio replies: "I am getting so confused, the more I read the more confused I get. My urine ph is about 5. And I am suffering from candida. I have purchased Methylene Blue, Caprylic Acid, Borax, Baking Soda, Sodium Carbonate. Now I just need to know how much, how often and how long and the right combination. I need a regimen to follow. The correct amount of ingredients to make the perfect Carbicarb (seen several different versions).
Thank you all I hope you can help me! "
01/21/2011: Connie from Gladwin, Michigan/ Usa replies: "Hi, I have dealt with Candida issues and find that the diet needs to be cleaned up as one is taking suppliments..... Stop all sugar wether it comes from dairy, honey, syrup, fructose corn syrup, breads, pastries, pasta, white rice, fruits, etc. I ate plenty of organic eggs with organic butter, fried my foods in coconut oil, used garlic and onions, hot peppers, organic meat is best as some animals have been fed antibiotics which is nortorious for yeast overgrowth, organic bacon, mashed cauliflower in place of potatoes, used organic chicken broth and other organic broth as well to make soups, add flavor, etc, ate lots of vegetables, Brown rice, xylitol for sweetness to my oatmeal with no added milk, you can use Almond milk Or made rice pudding with eggs, xylitol, spices, some coconut oil, a touch of Almond milk then let it thicken and cool, it was delicious. I eat saurerkraut called Bubbies from the Oganic store, it is delicious and has natural enzymes, etc. You may have to forgo beans for now and winter squash until the candida clears up.
I took Suppliments: Organic Vitamin Code, Milk Thistle, coconut oil Capsules, A complete digestive enzymes with most meals, turmeric, Dr. Ohirras Probiotic Plus 12, Chorella, , lots of garlic, occassional baking soda in water. Research the suppliments that are good candida fighters and try them.... Some may work better for you than others... I highly recommend the Dr Ohirras Probiotic plus 12, it needs no refrigeration like so many others do, it can be found online at several websites, it is worth the cost believe me. But remember, clean up your diet or it will not be conquered for long, you have to starve it from it's food source which is sugar or forms of sugar. Xylitol is a sort of sugar but actually aids in getting rid of yeast overgrowth, it measures cup for cup and has really good flavor."
01/22/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Right now I am finishing reading a book called Cure Candida through Diet, very interesting indeed and which gives you a lot of information but the diet.... That is a problem for me so I can't imagine that I will be doing it, sorry! Eating fish and meat with vegetables is not a problem but then potatoes or rice also with vegetables alone.... Only if I was very ill. And porridge? No...... But the advice about the supplements is quite interesting as well as advice about easier ways of adapting your diet and lots of recipes."
01/24/2011: Bmr from Quito, Ecuador replies: "Hi, My daughter is now Candida free with no diets. Just using ACV, BS, Borax, GSE, H2O2, Lugol's solution, and of course, the Lord's blessing! "
06/24/2011: Alain from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada: "Hi
Instead of answering several recent post that ask why ACV might be alkalizing I suggest these two articles
Lemons are Alkaline Forming
This is because their acids, such as citric acid, are weak acid and the Lemon's overall nutrients are alkaline. The End Product of Metabolism, otherwise known as Ash and it's effects on the body make it Alkalizing.
Citric Acid is a "weak" acid, meaning once it's done it's job in providing energy in metabolism it's eliminated easily via sweat and respiration. It is alkaline forming in that it stimulates the formation of calcium carbonate in the body. Calcium carbonate then neutralizes the "Strong" acids in the body, acids that can only be gotten rid of through urination, including uric acid which is the end result of protein metabolism.
In fruits such as the Lemons... the mineral content is also taken into consideration, and the Lemon's Alkaline minerals are many, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and Selenium so after the citric acid has done its job and is easily eliminated, one is left with a very Alkaline Ash (end product) from the fruit.
In a Similar way, Malic Acid (another "weak" acid) attacks Lactic Acids (A "strong" acid) making foods like Apples and it's unprocessed vinegar also an alkalizing source.
The list goes on... It's how the elements of the food, inclusive of its "acids" are utilized by the body and whether it's a weak acid or a strong acid in how it can be eliminated, and the food's nutrient content such as it's vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, etc. that a food's ash ends up being.
Proteins... They are acidic, not only in their amino acid content, but also in it's utilization by the body... It leaves Uric Acids as it's waste product from its metabolism. And we need Citric acid to help our bodies eliminate this Acidic end product (Ash).
Apple Cider Vinegar, Unprocessed with "Mother"
Used in conjunction with the AA Guidelines. There are benefits offered to those who just added the ACV without really addressing their diet. But with the AA Diet, The relief is more "permanent" as the balance of nutrients is addressed that caused the pain.
Malic Acid (readily available in Apples) helps the body produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate) more efficiently. Thus assisting the body in ridding itself of Lactic Acid.

Good health to you all
06/24/2011: Dan from Edmonton, Alberta replies: "Hey Alain - appreciative your posts - always informative!
I wonder if people just ask a question without checking under "Ailments" because there seems to be a lot of repeat queries. Take candida, for instance. Bill from San Fernando gave a very detailed guideline on what to do many times (good work Bill! ) and, yet, people will post saying they have candida and ask what they should do.
Perhaps Earth Clinic could put a gentle reminder on the submission page (right before "Subject of Your Email" - so people don't miss it): Have you checked the "Ailments" section first for an answer to your question?
Just saying ..."
pH Urine Test
05/14/2013: Susan from New York: "Can someone explain how to do the PH Urine test with either the meter or the strip? When is the best time to do it and how often?"
06/08/2012: Jools from Adelaide, Australia: "Hi My husband has been diagnosed with gout we have just found this site and would like to try the remedies mentioned here but not sure if we should try both or just one, we want to decrease the acid in my husbands body, he has had a blood test to see how much uric acid is in him but wont get results for few days. Bit confused and overwhelmed after reading all the posts on this site, excellent site by the way. Kind regards, jools"Replies
06/13/2012: Cat from Austin, Tx replies: "My husband has "tested" and kept a journal on his gout for many months now. He records what flares it up & what medicines alleviate it in its different stages. Yesterday, at a friend's birthday party, he ate sugary foods. By midnight, gout had flared in his right, big toe. This morning, his back ached badly as well. Rather than let him reach for medication for these beginning inflammatory signs before a full blown attack, I took advantage of his busy morning, convincing him to let me apply VCO on his toe and on the small of his back. Pretty soon (within 30 minutes), he was walking around discussing his work, local news, lunch... Not noticing that he was no longer walking slumped over nor with a tentative gait. I smiled at him. You see, my funny, lovable, extremely smart, nerdy husband has stubbornly resisted natural cures, consdering my oils, herbs and natural remedies witch's brew. He jokes that I'm turning our bathroom into Nostradamus' apothecary. When he gets sick he searches the net for the latest pill-remedy by mordern man whearas I always look toward natural remedies. I'm in "wait mode" now, waithg until he finally has that AH, HA! moment concerning natural remedies.. Bless his heart, he's stubborn but I see the dawn of enlightenment brewing within him... Peace to all on this journey.... CAT"
06/13/2012: Karlapep from Mandeville, La, Usa replies: "Can you please relate, what is "VCO" that you used for your husband's gout?"
EC: VCO= virgin coconut oil
Vitamin C Sodium Ascorbate
09/30/2012: Mmsg from Somewhere, Europe: "A question on alkalizing drink: Does anyone know if Vitamin C powder plus Baking Soda in water, gives the same alkalizing effect as lemon/lime and BS or ACV and BS?"
