[YEA] 01/20/2009: Anita from Georgetown, IL writes: "I find that if I mix it with grape juice, it tastes like wine. My favorite way to take it is with orange juice or with any of the V8 Fusion juices. Enjoy good health!"
[YEA] 01/21/2009: Tracy from St Louis, MO replies: "I tried and tried all day to take each of the above. I tried water, acv, and honey, couldn't swallow it. I tried tea, honey and a.c.v., couldn't do it. I tried tea, honey, b.s.m, couldn't do it, I tried warm milk, honey, b.s.m. couldn't do it. Each of them made me gag then I read a post with grape juice and I tried it and IT WORKED! Grape juice with the a.c.v. you can't even taste the a.c.v. I used about 3 oz of the grape juice and swallowed fast. Then I warmed up about 1 oz of water till it was hot, disolved the b.s.m. in the hot water, put some ice cubes to make it cold and then added some cold grape juice and it worked!!!!! Now I will just need to drink plenty of water today but wanted to share for those of you looking for something to mask the taste with out gagging over the taste! Good luck and I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!"
03/15/2009: Mary from Tampa, FL replies: "I have to agree with you. I love the affects of ACV! It puts my body in perfect balance in no time. But I hate the taste of it, it makes me ill. I started mixing it with oj and I have no issues with it at all. Its great!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to try it with grape juice next."

[YEA] 01/02/2009: KM from Oulu, Finland writes: "Hi there,
After reading so many wonderful comments and suggestions on this site I have adopted the use of both organic apple cider vinegar and organic coconut oil.
My post is to offer my own way to drink ACV, as its a cold climate here and I find this a fairly pleasant way to drink a strongly flavoured thing such as this:
I use a large mug, so you may need to adjust down accordingly.
About 1 1/2 Tsp ACV
Tablespoon of organic or raw honey
Cinnamon stick
Hot water to fill
I pop the first three into the mug and simply pour in the hot water to taste. The cinnamon has its own health benefits, and honey is not the same as sugar in terms of how our teeth, digestive systems or insulin levels react so though I do not eat much sugar I find a little of this is quite nice - and I find the cinnamon adds a nice touch.
My plan is to drink this twice a day, and we'll see how that goes for a start!
Enjoy!"

[YEA] 12/24/2008: Allie from Eagan, Minnesota writes: "I just started taking ACV in order to help my allergies and to see if it would to anything for my moderate acne. Even just a teaspoon in a cup of tea made me almost gag so I developed this recipe:
8 oz. orange juice
2 tablespoons ACV
1 tablespoon lemon juice
You can't taste the ACV at all! It's a real pick me up in the morning. I automatically feel like I have more energy.
Using the V8 is a great idea though! I will have to try it out!"

[YEA] 12/22/2008: Ashley F. from Temecula, Ca writes: "I recently started taking ACV and noticed how awful it tastes. I tried other recipes and i could still taste it. So i tried mixing 2 tablespoons with 1 cup of V8 Fusion with Acai Berry and you cannot taste it at all! You can smell the vinegar but all you taste is the V8. Not only is V8 cheap but it helps you get all your daily fruits and veggies combined with ACV. Just thought i would share with everyone!! Good Luck!"
12/23/2008: Bill from Felton, CA replies: "Only thing about V8 is it has a ton of salt in it and is acidic. You'd be better off with some honey. Hopefully u r mixing it with baking soda too. V8 is cheap also because it contains vegetables that are farmed from agribusiness, and the methods used to grow these vegetables has been controversial."
02/05/2009: Meghan from Greenville, Alabama replies: "I am using ACV to detox and help with my acne, and just to be overall healthy. I was just going to make a comment about the V8 juices. I've noticed that they all have high fructose corn syrup in them. That is why I've never used them before. I think it is much healthier to mix your ACV with fresh squeezed jucies if at all possible. I've found that if I use:
1/2 to 1 fresh squeezed lemon
2 TBS of honey
1 TBS of ACV
8 to 16oz of water
*mix together, add ice, and sip through a straw*
then I can handle the taste of the ACV."
03/11/2009: Stephen from West Valley City, UT replies: "Would it make a difference if I put this in 2 lts of water to 16 oz of water. I usually have a 2 lts water bottle at work I drink throughout 9 to 10 hours. Or is it better to put this in a 16 oz mug then drink regular water after?"
03/11/2009: Jim from Rochester, Michigan replies: "I suggest you don't take the vinegar separately, because as Ashley said, it doesn't taste very good. I put mine in apple juice; you can't taste it at all."

[YEA] 10/24/2008: Sara from Little Rock, AR writes: "After being on this site a few times, I decided to try out Apple Cider Vinegar. I took my concoction regularly for about a month, but I gave it up when I spent the summer abroad. I felt that it did help jump start my weight-loss, and I most definitely felt an increase in energy. However, I hate the taste of the stuff and upon returning home, found it incredibly difficult to force myself to drink it. My distaste for it also makes it so that my stomach aches for almost an hour after forcing myself to swallow.
So - here's my solution for those of you that can't bear the taste: bloody mary mix. If you like bloody mary mix, you'll never taste the difference. I drink about 1/2 ounce of bloody mary mix (I use an all-natural one I found at my local grocery store) with my 2 tablespoons of acv three times a day. I will warn people that bloody mary mix has quite a bit of sodium, so keep that in mind, if you are worried about your sodium intake.
Good luck!"

[YEA] 10/05/2008: Miriam from Racine, USA writes: "I just though I would let your readers know that I just started the ACV remedy daily regiment to prevent migraines as I am weaning off my daily meds (that were causing hearing loss after 5 years on them!!). So far so good! I will say that w/o the honey, I couldn't pallette the taste, so I mixed it with La Croix (but any brand UNSWEETENED) Lime water. It is carbonated and tastes slightly sweet even though it has no artificial sweetners (a must for any migraine folks). For some reason it really cuts the "yuck" factor considerably!
Just a tip! Saved me and now I am working the cure!"

Today, I found the answer....Clamato Juice! for the first time I could pour almost 2 tablespoons in a glass and fill it up with the juice and down it went, no problem!"

[YEA] 07/29/2008: Cheryl from Hawaii, Hawaii writes: "Aloha,
I thought I'd pass on a smoothie recipe I use every morning to disquise the taste of vinegar and molasses and sneak in some other stuff I don't like the taste of. The end result is a easy, delicious breakfast.
Place in a blender:
2 Tblsp. ACV
2 Tblsp. Black Strap Molasses
2tsp vanilla
1 cup of any juice you have on hand (I like cranberry or apple)
2 frozen bananas
5/6 frozen strawberries
Soy milk to fill the blender.
Now here's where you can add if you like:
1/2 cup oatmeal (try it, you'll be suprised you can't tell it's in there)
-wheat germ
-bran
-calcium powder
or just about anything you like.
*if you live where Noni grows, this will even disquise that taste!
Blend on high until mixed.
This smoothie gives me a ton of energy, a smooth clear complexion and notable weight loss.
The first week I started drinking this, I was very tired with flu like symptoms but I kept it up as I believed my body was purging and healing. By the 2nd week, I felt like a new person.
Thank you Earth Elinic for being here! I would have never have discovered these amazing cures and remedies!"
03/11/2009: Stephen from West Valley City, Utah replies: "I was wondering if you could use fresh fruit instead of juice since I tend to take one apple and one orange a day anyway. And are you getting Pre Frozen bananas and strawberries or buying fresh and freezing? Also with you filling the blender full with soy milk, how many servings does this make?"
03/11/2009: Dianna from Austin, Tx replies: "i like to make smoothies also. i have often snuck in as much as 2 giant handfuls of spinach! maybe i will try putting acv into my next one! thanks for the idea! oh - and chia seeds are also a great addition."

07/16/2008: Kathy from Atlantic County, New Jersey writes: "I've been giving my mother (who has diabetes 2) apple cider vinegar whenever she will agree to take it in hopes of lowering her blood sugar. When she does take it her sugar readings go down (sorry, but I don't have the exact numbers.) The only problem is she hates the taste of it so much it's hard to get her to drink it!! I've come up with a much better tasting recipe; I put about 5 drops of the liquid stevia (might need to try a few different brands - I hate to say it, but the more expensive brands do taste better) in with 2 T. of the vinegar & about 6 - 8 ounces of water & a couple of ice cubes. She doesn't love it (I do!) but she can handle it much better. Cheers!"

07/15/2008: Lana from Somewhere, Israel writes: "I have overcome the problem of not liking the tasts of my ACV/baking soda combination by adding as many drops of Tabasco sauce as I can take. (That little bottle lasts a surprisingly long time...) I think that also takes care of my cayenne pepper requirements. Could someone either confirm or deny that Tabasco sauce is the same as cayenne? Thanks, and health and happiness to all!"
01/23/2009: Maria from San Francisco, California replies: "I don't think Cayenne and Tobasco are actually the same thing. Cayenne pepper is a red pepper of a similar variety to the red chilis used to make Tobasco, but the tobasco pepper it's own creature. They have about the same hotness- cayenne may be a hair hotter -and this means they probably have the same level of capsaicin... the element in peppers that create the heat, produce a "chili high" and make a potent pain killer."

[YEA] 04/11/2008: Martha from Ontario, Canada writes: "I have just started ACV for weight loss support and blackstrap molasses in hopes of reversing advancing gray hair.
This recipe made both products more palatable for me:
2tbsp ACV
2tbsp BSM
Mix in a tall glass until the BSM is dissolved. Add a full can of club soda or mineral water - be careful, it really fizzes. Stir lightly, add ice if desired, and enjoy. Sorta sweet, sorta tangy, nicely fizzy, dark brown. It's a taste that grows on you, sort of like Coke does."
[YEA] 01/04/2009: Angela from Brooklyn, NY replies: "Thank you Martha for your wonderful and simple recipe! Once you likened it to Coke, I was sold and had to try it. About a week ago, I stumbled upon organic blackstrap molasses in the supermarket. I instinctively picked up the bottle and said, "I want to swallow this whole thing." I guess my body was asking for it.. Anyway, that's what prompted me to look into it here on earthclinic. When I saw all that it was good for... wow. So back to your recipe. I've always had a major craving for Coke.. like sometimes I could drink a 2 liter over the course of a day. So needless to say, your recipe caught my attention! I more or less cut your recipe in half. I used 1 tbsp bsm, 1 tbsp acv, and maybe a half a mug (or a little more) of club soda.. and I just LOVE it! I have plenty of Coke in the fridge, but I cant even bring myself to drink it now. I make this concoction for myself twice a day, and somehow it satisfies whatever it was that used to make me reach for the Coke. Sooo funny! I wasn't trying to stop drinking Coke, but its nice to have a healthy, satisfying replacement. Thank you so much for sharing!!"

3 TB Apple Cider Vinegar
3 TB lime juice, fresh squeezed if possible
2 TB honey sprinkle of cinnamon
Boil 8 oz of water, and add the ingredients. Stir until honey is dissolved.
It tastes like a christmas wassail recipe that my family makes, but much healthier. Even my cousins who hate the vinegar loved it when they added a little more honey to make a sweet drink."

[YEA] 02/09/2008: Decolia from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma writes: "The best way that I've found to drink ACV is like this.. boil water like you're making tea, to your cup add 2 Tablespoons ACV 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice and add honey to taste. It works great for a sore throat and helped treat my strep throat as a kid. I just love the stuff! I've begun drinking it again recently and haven't felt this good in ages! I'm also overweight and have PCOS, so I'm excited to see if there are any benefits there as well. I hope you enjoy this mix, it seems to make it a bit more appetizing. Enjoy!"
03/20/2009: Norma from Oceanside, CA replies: "I am going to start 2 tsp of AVC daily, I was wondering if it's okay to put the AVC in Gatorade? and can I still drink my multi vitamin with no problems?"

It's called Fire Cider. It is effective, easy to make and tasty, though not for the weak of heart. Make a batch before the cold season starts.
FIRE CIDER!
1 Quart AC vinegar
1/4 cup grated fresh horseradish
1 onion, chopped
1 head garlic, peeled & chopped
2 tablespoons powdered turmeric
1 cup honey
cayenne pepper, to taste
1. In a glass or stainless steel sauce pan heat vinegar on the stove to where it is warm, but not boiling.
2. Fill a clean glass jar with horseradish, onion, garlic, turmeric, and a pinch or two of Cayenne pepper.
3. Pour in the warmed vinegar and cap with an acid-proof lid.
4. Store in a warm place 3 to 4 weeks; shaking a few times a week.
5. Strain mixture and add enough honey to suit your taste.
6. Rebottle fire cider and refrigerate.
7. At the first sign of a cold take 1 to 2 tablespoons every 2 to 3 hours until your symptoms subside.
I use a mason jar and put wax paper on top before putting the lid on."

[YEA] 12/07/2007: Renee from Tucson, Arizona writes: "With ACV, taking 6 tablespoons a day, 3 in the morning, 3 in the evening, it cleared my skin up completely within less than a few days, but the smell of it makes me so woozy, and it burns my throat and stomach. I take it anyway, but I just add a little bit of orange juice and take it like a shot of alchohol, and quickly drink more orange juice. I just wanted to know it thats an acceptable way to take my ACV."

Now I am using 2 Tbls of ACV, 2Tbls Raw Honey, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, 1/2 tsp of Cayenne Pepper. I mix the ingrediants in a large mug, add hot water from a tea pot. This concoction tastes pretty good, is not very spicy (the pepper is hardly noticable). I have had more energy, felt better, sleep MUCH better. And like others I have noticed my dreams to be very vivid & clear."
