used coconut oil on my son's diaper rash. It went away in one night after I had been trying other creams for days and it just got worse. The exact measurements I used: well I put my fingers in the jar and scooped some out and rubbed it on!

I have been using Extra Virgin Coconut Oil since 2005. It has helped me in so many ways. My immune system was a mess and I had a rash all over my body from Candida. I happened upon VCO in a book I read and decided to give it a try. I started eating it by melting a tablespoon and adding it to my yogurt. It would harden back up but it was crunchy and made the plain yogurt taste great. After a few months of eating it that way I decided to use it in a smoothie instead. The smoothie consists of two cups of yogurt (one plain and one fruit) along with a banana, one tablespoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of flaxseed oil. I don't have the rash any longer. When I occasionally get a dry spot from Eczema -- (which is completely under control now) I rub a little in and it's gone within a few days. My skin and hair look great!! My friends always comment how soft my skin feels. I don't suffer from Candida any longer. Another benefit I believe that came from eating the above smoothie was that I had cryptic tonsilitis. It healed up shortly after I started eating the VCO. I will say I haven't lost weight by using VCO but I noticed I do feel full longer. Also, a big plus is I no longer have IBS either!! I really think it helps with wrinkles as well and noticed when I was in Hawaii that I didn't burn like I usually do. VCO is always going to remain a part of my diet!! Thanks for your website too! I love to read all the different remedies.

re: Subject: Coconut Oil for Rashes and Healing of Scars. I am 40 yrs old and have very dry sun-damaged skin. I have been experimenting with vit E, aloe, green tea, olive oil, and just recently extra virgin coconut oil. About two weeks ago I had to have 3 biopsies on my legs. To make a long story short...I tried the coconut oil last night and woke up and found that my legs are much better. The redness from the scars and also a rash I have had for 3 months dramatically improved. I think this stuff actually works great.

The rash I had lasted for almost two years--tryed everything--natural--I do not like the medical field at all--so a friend of mine who is very much so into alternative medicine started researching about skin--well needless to say she came across and Idia site that said mix tomato juice(organic) and coconut oil(organic) to the rash--the rash was all over my body--I was in so much pain from the rash I was crying--so I mixed it in the blender--put towels down in my bathtub--so as not to make a mess--my husband bless his heart--took a big cooking spoon and pored it on me--as he was pouring I was rubbing it in--yes it had a very much so tingling effect--but we didn't stop--we did this for about 15 minutes--then I didn't wash it off we just kind off blotted it--put on some clothes I didn't mind messing up--the next morning the rash was almost gone--I did the treatment one more time--as of this day which has been about a year--I have seen no signs of the rash--hope this will help someone else--Donna

I had a rash on my chest and i was getting redder and more itichy every day. It was also creaping and aboutt to go on my face. I was about to go to the doctors--something I only do when really desperate. So, being a fan of cayenne pepper and coconut oil, I mised them on and applied to just part of my chest. Within two days and with two applications, the rash was gone only where I had put the mixture. Has anyone tried putting these two things together?

Dave~ I've had a rash on my leg for about a month; about 4x7 inches. It literally appeared overnight was very itchy. I tried ACV and also tried Coconut oil with no luck. I finally went to the Doctor and he prescribed "nystatin - Triamcinolone Acetonide" ointment. That was two weeks ago and I just renewed the prescription. The itching is considerably better but the rash is still very red and ugly. I'm going on a cruise next week and I'd given up all hope of being able to wear shorts. Perhaps out of desperation, I tried your cayene pepper and coconut oil paste last night. I applied it to the rash and put a large gauze pad loosley over it. When I woke this morning, there is absolutely no itchng and the rash is about 50% GONE. I'll try another application today. THANK YOU

Wow. This is great stuff. I had an allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide. I had used this as a treatment on my face (my entire face) for a couple of days, then broke out into a dry, itchy, red, swollen, hot, bumpy rash. My 1st thought was benadryl & aloe & moisturizer, but they didn't help much.

I came across this post & finally decided to give it a shot (rather than go to a Dr.& have him give me a cortisone shot or some type of meds with possible side effects. I had ACV at home already, so I decided to use that too after I bought the CO & Cayenne. I washed my face with a bar of 'H20plus' soap then blotted on ACV (burned like.... ), then used a mixture of CO & Cayenne on my entire face (putting plain CO around & over my eyes). I woke up this morning & the rash is 75% gone! (1nite, 1application! ) It even cleared up the acne that I was trying to get rid of with the Benzoyl Peroxide. I am amazed. This really works... & fast too!

Do you have a ratio of pepper to oil? And it sounds like it would burn with the pepper...does it?

A dear friend has a horrible rash on her legs, with high fevers and pain. No doctors know the cause. Pictures have been sent to Johns Hopkins and Cleveland Clinic. I started rubbing her legs with warmed coconut oil. She was immediately better. Even more so when I added turmeric. Biopsies show inflammation only. Her legs when broken out look like untreated Relapse Fever. It is not well known in the US but is in the west and southwest. South American disease. My son diagnosed her when he was in nursing school from information out of his microbiology book. She has been tested for Relapse Fever and it has not shown up in blood tests. But, coconut oil works for her.

My 8 year old son had a spot on his earlobe that was weepy and red. Likely it was a bug bite that he scratched and it got infected with staph or impetigo (which is a staph infection). Whatever it was, it was infected in some way. I began to spray Colloidal Silver on it 2-3 times a day. In 24 hours I could see that it was improving. It has been a few days and now it looks all healed up. I used 20 ppm Colloidal Silver because that was what was in a little spray mister. I would have used a stronger ppm, but the 20 was just sitting there waiting to be used and it worked well. I will spray once a day for a few more days just in case.

Hi. I didn't try turmeric when I was in boils. I use Colloidal Silver Water. Apply a drop or two on top of boil (acne too!). After 1-2 hr it stops hurting, stops "growing". Up to 3 days it subsides to red spot. You can use small hair spry bottle (with very fine mist like spry). If you have acne or boils more then one and you expect more to show up spray it on your skin just once and let it dry. Nothing will break out! I suffered for almost 30 years from something what doctor called "diaper rush" (!). The pic of my "diaper rush" was always during summer months. After using once single spray of Colloidal Silver Water I am free of this skin condition. I will get 1 tiny pimple time to time but who hasn't have it during hot summer days?

Colostrum

Last year my eleven year old daughter came down with a severe histamine rash all over her body, but predominantly on her sweet, beautiful face. She was so tired all the time, falling asleep wherever she sat down for a minute.

We tried a low histamine diet along with about $1000 of supplements and creams, even a trip to the beach in February! A week at the beach helped a lot, but we couldn't stay there forever, and I was praying for a miracle.

Fast forward six months...Our miracle came in the form of colostrum. We ordered the expensive stuff off amazon and it started working very quickly. Within a week all the sores and rashes were starting to heal. She also got her energy back and I got my little girl back!

She can now survive off the cheaper colostrum, but for ease of use, we order a spray version and she takes it every morning. We went on vacation and forgot the colostrum. After three days, she started getting tired again, so for now, it's part of her life indefinitely.

Part of the long version of her story is how this reaction started.

She has fought eczema since birth (elbows, knees), but after discovering fresh, grass fed cow milk, it all went away. She gained weight and her skin was so smooth. Years later, however, in my overmothering efforts, I started making fermented foods: sourdough bread, kefir, pickles, probiotics, and feeding the kids lots of grass fed beef gelatin. It's suppose to be really good for you right?! Well, it was great, for me and the rest of the kids! But it sent my eleven year old into histamine shock! The short list of what we tried involved most of the remedies here on earth clinic.

I didn't realize what was going on at first, but when I (out of desperation) gave her a Benadryl, she cleared up quickly. Researching further, I found histamine intolerance information and light bulbs started going off. Life is better now. And the colostrum has allowed her to enjoy her childhood again!

I pray this review truly helps another as this website has helped our family so much!

With the extreme heat here in southern Arizona I develop some pretty bad rashes from sweating in my crotch area. A common over the counter remedy that works wonders overnight is used on cow udders.....I'm sure from that you can guess what the product is....at least I hope so....It works SUPER!!!

What is wrong with Petroleum jelly? It's great for rashes etc..my derm actually suggested it instead of antibiotics last year for a skin rash on my face..went away almost overnight..instead of using steroids!

I had itchy rash, and was using petroleum jelly on it and around my eyes to soften the skin, I told my specialist/ integrative medicine doctor and he told me to stop using any petroleum based products, and he gave me sheet with a list of things to avoid and why.

You that have rashes and your hair thinning you need to know - the way to correct those problems is from the inside out. Diet, not shampoo or soap, is what you need.

Also those talking about ascorbic acid should be aware that it often comes from corn. The majority of corn in this country is genetically modified. If you want grandchildren then do not use that stuff on your kids. If you want to get through life without having organ damage then you should avoid it too.

I was sick for over a year, had many tests and even a food allergy test scratch test and blood test and then my ND told me those tests were only 50% accurate, I had a rash off and on and just general itchy skin, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea weight loss, brain fog fatigue, weakness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and wheezing, I thought I was on my way out in fast order, The elimination diet was suggested and I did it, Elimination diet is just rice, chicken, turkey lamb, all vegetable except night shades, I was also allowed onions and garlic, of course water and olive oil blueberries and pear that is all I ate for two weeks then I reintroduce one food at a time wheat for 1/2 day and see how I feel then back on the diet for 3 1/2 days then soy 1/2 of day, then back on diet for 3 1/2 days then dairy, corn , sugar, citrus etc...this diet helped so much to figure out the cause of all my symptoms an it is best to stop all gluten for at least six months to really see a turn around . I also did a long term gentle parasite cleanse with colonics. These things all turned my life around . I would suggest elimination diet to anyone suffering with rashes.

On trying to help one, if not all the people in the world, realising that there are a lot of people with 'mysterious' skin rashes. Someone said stop eating sheep/lamb. I no longer get that crawling feeling nor sting like an invisible insect has bitten. What do you think?

I went to a dermatologist for this and he put me on antibiotics. It cleared it up but then he said "now we just wait and see if it comes back and it usually does". He said he had no idea what the cause was but that I would probably need stronger antibiotics when it comes back. About 6 months later it did. So I googled it and that's when I first learned about a little thing called "candida overgrowth". I went off grains and sugar and it cleared up immediately. I still eat some corn but stay away from sugar and wheat and that has kept the rash away. The info was so easy for me to find on the internet. I can't help but wonder why that dermatologist didn't know. It's his job right? Studied all about the skin in medical school, huh? But he still doesn't have a clue? Really?

Hi R. The sad truth of the matter is that the medical industry is just that. It has become an industry for SOME. Not ALL. The fact that they don't know the simple solutions and cures is of no surprise. MOST medical doctors do not know anything about nutrition because it is an elective while they are in school, so they don't bother. They only know what the so called nutritional guidelines (designed by lobbyists and lawyers a.k.a. the food pyramid), says to do. Not the destroying effects of the sugars and grains.

Thank you Earth Clinic! I was suffering from "Red Man Syndrome" due to using the Steriod cream Triamcinolone Acetonide! The horrible rash was on both feet and traveling up both legs! I was extremely depressed! I felt like I had leprosy! The condition was blood red in color! A poster posted a "heads up" regarding this skin problem and the use of the steroid creams and I was able to identify with his post. I stopped using the Steroid cream and left my rash ALONE. Ice Packs really helped the problem for me. My Red man Syndrome is nearly healed competely! Thank you poster and thank you EARTH CLINIC! This rash can take a month to peak so be patient. Leave it alone, sun bathe and use ice packs. (My condition healed almost immediately after leaving it alone)

My husband has had a rash since the tornadoes of 2011--we thought it was a reaction to that dust. He also got a lung infection, so dr put him on antibiotics--rash appeared then. So, onto steroids, rash got worse. He's tried every inhaler for copd, everything give him/exacerbates the rash. Pharmacist said redman syndrome. Poor guy, he's so miserable. Any suggestions? Oh, he won't take any supplements. Just won't. So, I have to prepare foods that will fix it, or lotions, etc. Thanks.

I went to look and it said redman syndrome is from a reaction to a certain antibiotic and even children get it, causes a rash, chills, fever, pain , and redness around neck. It talked about high dose IV of Benadryl which is an anti histamine, that would stop an allergic response.

Maybe baking soda would help, it stops allergic reactions. I use to take it when I was freaking out from something I breathed or ate or touched.

Hi Gert from Someplace, please go to itsan.org and read about topical steroids and steroid inhalers and red skin syndrome. From your post it sounded like your husband's problem started before he used any steroids and the steroids made him worse. I hope he is not using any still. For some people they cause an eczema-like reaction and the only thing you can do is stop using them and allow your body to naturally detox and heal. If the antibiotics caused problems then look into probiotic foods - yogurt and fermented vegetables. Good luck!

i'm allergic to a plant down here and unknowingly got in contact with it. i broke out in a really nasty rash on my arm and neck. A trainer at my gym told me to use epsom salt. He said it'll dry it out and kill the bacteria in it. i did and my rash cleared up in a few days and gott noticably better after each treatment. Mind you i tried all kinds of creams and allergy pills that had no effect what so ever.
