[YEA]  08/09/2007: reina (klodian31@hotmail.com) from orlando, US writes: "I started having a terrible itching two days ago. This had never happened to me so I didn't know where it came from, especially now that I am on a good diet. It may have been the bath that I took, and many other things. Anyway, the itching started being unbearable, last night I couldn't sleep at all so I started reading the cures on these site. I did the folic acid, garlic softgel and hydrogen peroxide. The itching really as subsided. Hopefully it goes all away. The hydrogen peroxide seemed to help a lot."

INFORMATION

10/05/2007: Linda (ltanner461@hotmail.com) from Gville, USA writes: "Here is a site that is most interesting, explaining the connections behind the diseases and maladies associated with yeast and fungus infections and some of the pulic issues and frustrations associated with Western Medicine's applications or lack thereof; due to it's stubbornness, arrogance and greed.(http://www.know-the-cause.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx) Judge for yourself how it might apply to you. Earthclinic and Ted's information has been most helpful for all of us who check in daily to the new discoveries using natural applications to clean up our bodies of disease. LIFESTYLE SUGGESTIONS

1 YEA

[YEA]  07/23/2007: Jay from Jackson, MS writes: "I have very sensitive skin, so condoms, dryer sheets, and of course antibiotics can bring on a yeast infection. Step one is to avoid condoms and spermicide (for me) and using dryer sheets, particularly on underwear or athletic clothing that is close to the skin. To treat, I have had great success with bathing in lemon or lime water. This is probably more gentle than apple cider vinegar. Yeast needs a basic enviroment to live, and a healthy vagina is slightly acidic, so you want to return your environment gradually and gently to normal. Also - sperm is basic, so wash thoroughly after sexual activity to avoid creating a "good home" for excessive bacteria or yeast. There are also antifungal natural ear drops that are a little better than using a strong chemical treatment that you could try. For bacteria, I find that eating yogurt and probiotics during antibiotic courses, garlic, and avoiding triggers like dryer sheets helps as well. Hope this helps someone out there!"

MONISTAT REACTIONS

06/03/2006: Shell from Illinois writes: "I used Monostat 7 and it made my symptoms worse. The burn and itch increased and I was about to go out of my mind. The next morning things were swollen and they weren't previous to the treatment of Monistat 7. I just got through drinking the apple cider vinegar and water. Now I am waiting to see if it works. If nothing else I am glad to know that there is alternatives to the messy and nasty creams."

SALT WATER

1 YEA

[YEA]  12/09/2006: Maureen from Vancouver, BC, Canada writes: "Years ago I saw a doctor in Australia who told me that the only way to cure yeast infection was to douche twice a day for 10 days with a solution of salt and hot water (as hot as you can stand it), holding the solution in the vagina for 5 minutes, then draining and inserting new hot solution, etc. for a total of 20 minutes. Here's the problem ...I can't remember the proportion of salt to water! I think it might have been 1/4 cup table salt to one quart of hot water (boiled and cooled sufficiently). It works great! Does anyone know what the proportions are? Is it 1/4 cup salt to 1 quart hot water, or is it less salt?"

SUPPLEMENTS

2 YEA

[YEA]  09/30/2008: Ahmed from Toronto, Canada writes: "Hi, God bless for having such a good site. For people desperate for relief and cure from Yeast, KIRKMAN: YEAST AID POWDER "WORKS". It contains Vitamin C,Olive leaf extract, Pau D'arco bark extract, golden seal extract, caprylic acid, cranberry extract... It is $39.50 USD(454 grams) at www.spectrumsupplements.com.and is $50 USD at www.kirkmanlabs.com.
It can be taken orally whenever the yeast hits, (make it last longer) or as a daily supplement to strengthen the immune system. (There is however a warning- not to be used by pregnant and lactating mothers.) Dosage on the box is 1/2 tsp once or twice a day.
It has a sour taste but can be masked by honey to some extent. It brings things back into balance. Totally worth it.
It is casein and gluten free. Helps children (Autistic or other) with yeast problems like rashes if you can get them to take it. Also available in hypoallergenic capsule form."

[YEA]  05/04/2008: Candy Moss (canmoss55@yahoo.com) from Ofallon, MO writes: "I have used L-Glutathione for years for stiffness or joint pain of any type. I works great. I am told it is the key to allow calcium and vit. D amd mag. into the osteoblasts. Without it very little gets in to keep them working properly and it works really well. It also detoxifies the liver. Also I use a product called colon tone by Dr.Eskeland. It is an oxygen based cleaner and one of the great things I noticed it also does is help with yeast infections which I have often, I am guessing the xtra oxygen in the colon kills bacteria. All I know is its great not to have to put up with those yeast infections constantly. I suppose you can find it on the web. Otherwise e-mail me and I can tell you where I get it. Also the glutathione is a very inexpensive supplement."

WATER AND KEFIR

1 YEA

[YEA]  12/22/2007: David from Terry, MS writes: "I managed to give myself a yeast infection with an overzealous attempt at home-brewed root beer. I don't know how serious this sort of infection is, but I finished it off by drinking lots of water and lots of a cultured yogurt product called kefir. The idea was to flush the yeast, dead or alive, out of the gastrointestinal system and replace/combat it with the bacteria in the cultured kefir drink."

YOGURT

14 YEA

[YEA]  07/09/2008: Amanda from San Francisco, CA writes: "Plain yogurt dipped on a tampon and inserted for a few hours works like a charm at curing impending yeast infections. Additionally, the yogurt is very soothing, not harsh in any way. Also, a tip about avoiding yeast infections: don't have sex using a flavored condom!"

[YEA]  04/18/2008: Veronica from San Antonio, Texas writes: "I have suffered from yeast infections since I was a teen. The otc creams are almost as bad as the yeast infection. I have found the less sugar I eat, the less infections I get. But the biggest help has been yogurt. Unflavored yogurt sucked up into one of those applicators used for the yeast infection medications really knocks out the pain and irritation within seconds and cures it in a matter of days. It is so much cheaper, kinder and faster then the creams."

[YEA]  04/12/2008: Tiera from Winner, SD writes: "I just found this site, looking for help with my chronic sinus/dental problems and got side-tracked. I wanted to add my input on using yogurt for vaginal yeast infections. I rarely get yeast infections, but any time I ever did, I dipped a tampon in some plain yogurt and left it in overnight, and it always cured the problem immediately! In addition, a few years back, I was baking some bread and must have scratched my leg with a fingernail that had some yeast underneath, and within an hour I had what is known as "baker's infection"...something people who work in bakerys suffer from on a regular basis because of the live yeast surrounding them. My rash on my legs was spreading by the minute, so I finally ran a hot bath, dumped a carton of plain yogurt in, and it brought it to a screeching halt! The redness remained into the next day, but the spreading had stopped, along with the itching and burning! I had read that yogurt bacterias kill yeast on contact, and I know, from experience, that this is absolutely true!"

[YEA]  10/05/2007: Gem from sydney, australia writes: "hi, i've had thrush for about a year and a half now and haven't done anything about it till recently,i started eating alot of plain yoghurt and drank about 1 L of water each day. My thrush has been gone ever since but you have to keep it up. When you have vaginal thrush or white discharge it means the level of pH acidity is high in your body, to neutralise the acidity you have to take in substance which have a pH of about 7 which is neutral , the most neutral substance is water. and yoghurt contains acidophulos which helps to. TAking B6 helps as well, I ensure you , do these things and thrush will never bother you again! Oh and stop wearing pantyhose and try and wear cotton underwear!"

[YEA]  10/02/2006: Kels from Tacoma, WA writes: "I tried monistat 1 day and it gave me 2nd degree burns and made me swell down there like you would not believe. I had to go to the ER and get it flushed out and be out on medication. After the burns healed, I used yogurt. Just put it in waited 20 min and then took a shower. Sleep with a pad so to catch any remaining yogurt."

[YEA]  07/26/2006: Marla from Minnesota writes: "I have vaginal itching for over a month now, but I wasn't sure if it was a yeast infection or not. I tried the apple cider cure, but it didn't help at all. Inserting it vaginally made it even worse! Finally, I looked up vaginitis/vaginal itching online and found the yogurt suggestion (vaginally). I inserted 2 tsp. (10 ml) of it into my vagina last night (my husband found it hilarious, by the way), but it's the first night that I haven't felt like clawing at my insides! The website I found suggested using 2 tsp. inserted with a syringe vaginally for 7 days straight at bedtime, and then doing it once more on the 14th day. In the study done on Turkish pregnant women, most of them didn't having symptoms by the 3rd day."

[YEA]  10/10/2005: Joan from NY writes: "I've only had 2 yeast infections in my life, and do you know what worked? Yogurt! However, MAKE SURE it is plain (no sugar!) yogurt with live active cultures. The bad news is that is very messy to apply as you must insert it in to the vagina. What I did was buy a disposable douche bottle, empty it, cut off the tip so the hole is as large as possible yet still allows the nozzle to be twisted back on, and using a teaspoon, carefully place the plain yogurt in the bottle. This takes time and effort, but trust me, it provides nearly instant relief. Apply the yogurt in the same way you would use a douche although do it while laying down in the tub or on your bed with a towel under you as it can be messy. Let the yogurt rest inside you for about 15-20 minutes, then sit up. When you sit, the yogurt will of course come back out of you as you, with the exception of a thin film or layer that will remain for the next few hours. Shower (no soap) that area to rinse off any mess, then put on a clean pair of cotton panties, along with a Kotex in. Sleep in the kotex and panties..as during the night the thin layer of yogurt will slowly seep out. It isn't much.. maybe a teaspoon, max. Once application should clear things up as the yogurt can bring your vaginal PH back to order. This may also be helpful to women who use vinegar and water to douche, and do it so excessively that their vaginal PH is also screwed up.. as vinegar is very acidic. If you feel sore or raw, yogurt will do the trick. Caution, do not do the yogurt unless you really need it or you will disturb your vaginas natural healthy PH. One application should be enough for a yeast infection, but if you have no improvement after 2 days, reapply. Rest assured, the yogurt does NOT stay in you. It slowly comes out the same way a man's sperm does when he ejaculates inside you. Another note is; if you douche regularly, DONT. Douching is very bad, unnecessary, and will actually bring you more problems. The vagina is a self-cleaning organ, and if you bathe with soap and water every day, there is NO need to douche."

[YEA]  Anita from Garland, NC writes: "Plain yogurt in your grocery store can cure a yeast infection in less than five hours. Insert it with a syringe or turkey baster. lay down as much as possible so it will not come down. A pad should be worn to catch the leakage. It really works and the itching will also stop almost instantly!!!!"
