Cure Your Muscle Ailments
"Muscle (from Latin musculus, diminutive of mus "mouse") is contractile tissue of the body and is derived from the mesodermal layer of embryonic germ cells. Muscle cells contain contractile filaments that move past each other and change the size of the cell. They are classified as skeletal, cardiac, or smooth muscles. Their function is to produce force and cause motion. Muscles can cause either locomotion of the organism itself or movement of internal organs. Cardiac and smooth muscle contraction occurs without conscious thought and is necessary for survival. Examples are the contraction of the heart and peristalsis which pushes food through the digestive system. Voluntary contraction of the skeletal muscles is used to move the body and can be finely controlled. Examples are movements of the eye, or gross movements like the quadriceps muscle of the thigh. There are two broad types of voluntary muscle fibers: slow twitch and fast twitch. Slow twitch fibers contract for long periods of time but with little force while fast twitch fibers contract quickly and powerfully but fatigue very rapidly." (Wikipedia)

[YEA] 02/04/2012: Monique from Virginia Beach, Usa: "Hey, I have to say the ACV worked for muscle ache. I had a complete body massage earlier today. I was sore when I woke up to get a glass of water and then I stopped to check this site for sore muscles. I drank 1 tablespoon of Acv and 1/2 c water- in 2 minutes my soreness was gone. Thank you EC"

[YEA] 05/18/2011: Heather from Katy, Tx, Usa: "I somehow managed to pull a muscle very near the point of my shoulder blade. I have muscle relaxants that would have helped with the pain, but hesitate to use them because of the side effects. I found your site hoping for a simpler cure for this small, yet painful, problem. I applied straight organic ACV to a washcloth - not completely soaking it, but soaking the center 3 inches. Then I put the washcloth over the sore muscle, and helped it stay there by using an ace bandage over that shoulder and under my opposite arm. I'm sure you can use just about anything you can wrap around your body, like gauze, or a long scarf or something. Or you could just lay on your stomach with it on your back if you've managed to hurt a muscle in an area there and you know the washcloth isn't going to want to stay put. Anyway - an hour later and I'm barely feeling pain! I'm not really into holistic/folk medicine, but this has convinced me that it has it's place. I'm going to look up a few things for my pets and see if they like alternative medicine as well! Thank you to the others that posted this cure.
If you've got a cut I think the straight ACV would burn, but you could dilute it 50/50. Straight worked fine for me and I took it off after an hour. The only drawback is the smell - I will need a shower later on, with LOTS of soap. LOL!"

I SOAKED A PAPER TOWEL WITH APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND APPLIED IT TO THE AREA. THE PAIN WAS GONE ALMOST INSTANTLY. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. IT WAS LIKE A MIRACLE."

[YEA] 08/16/2009: Judith from Henlow, Bedfordshire, England: "When we were house hunting in Iran, over 30 years ago, a host offered us a refreshing cold drink on a hot summer day. It was delicious. We found out it was diluted vinegar. Now that I'm trying to get rid of muscle pain, I'm drinking apple cider vinegar but I prepare it the way the Persians do: 2 teaspoons acv, 1 teaspoon honey, and a spring of fresh mint. Add 8 - 10 ounces cold water and give it a stir. Wonderful!
What's surprising me is that the muscles are responding rapidly. I've only drunk it for 4 or 5 days and there's already a noticeable difference. Thought it would take 6 months!"

[YEA] 01/14/2007: Lynn from St. Petersburg, FL: "I have been taking vco for approximately two weeks now, at about 2-3 tablespoons a day, both in cooking, and melted like butter on foods. I have had severe muscle pain of unknown origin (probably fibromyalgia) for years. The Q-Ray bracelet helped enormously for a few years, but recently I have had a lot of pain. On day three of my taking the oil, my pain was all but gone, a recurrent cyst had disappeared, and my energy/stamina was phenomenal. I had suffered from very low energy for years, and take thyroxin. I now am "addicted" to the stuff, and would recommend it to anyone with these symptoms."

EPSOM SALT

[YEA] 01/07/2012: Diana Letresor from Mesa, Az, Usa: "I have heard all of my life about using Epsom Salts to relieve muscle soreness. Well, last night I got the box out that had been under my sink for 8 years and hardly used. I got a stepper for Christmas and finally used it for a half an hour 1-6-12. I knew I would be very sore from ankles to hips from being out of shape, so I filled the tub with very warm water, put in about 2 cups of Epsom salts and soaked for 15 minutes. I didn't use any soap, I only soaked in the water with Epsom Salts. Afterwards, I took a warm shower to wash my hair, etc. This morning I was so amazed that I was barely sore! I had more soreness on my upper chest and shoulders (where the soak bath didn't reach), than I did on my feet or legs. I also felt very relaxed after my soak last night. I have a problem with insomnia, but I went to bed and slept about 9 1/2 hours and that never happens.
I am totally sold on using Epsom salts for muscle soreness, relaxation and insomnia. And to think I had that box of Epsom Salt under my bathroom sink for almost a decade and could have been using it all along for many purposes. 2012 will be a much easier and healthier year for me with this "new", cheap remedy."
Replies01/08/2012: Francisca from Zug, Switzerland replies: "Diana, I have no idea how old you are but I am 54 and although I tried to do a bit of exercise once in a while I always ended up not doing it regularly. Then I would have a good session and would have muscle pains for days. But somehow, maybe with the supplements I have been taken for many months, now we are in Zug and I have a lot of time in my hands I go to the gym and the swimming pool/sauna four days a week and guess what.... I am suprised that I never had any pains at all! And I do exercise a lot in the water and at least 90 minutes non-stop in the gym really pushing myself but at the end I feel fresh, no pains, not tired. The down side is that all the exercise hasn't really been helping with my sleep or better... Nowadays I seem to sleep like I am in a coma but only after sunrise, very annoying because I end up having to force myself to wake up and that quite late!We can't buy Epsom salts here in Europe except in England (at least not in the countries I go to... ) so I buy magnesium chloride (Nigari) and a book I have just read says that actually magnesium chloride is better than magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts). But if it helps you.... that is great! Nigari is not too cheap...."
01/10/2012: Diana from Mesa, Az replies: "Francisca, I am 56 1/2, so older than you are. I am getting ready to do another stepper workout for about 45 minutes duration. I am sorry you can't get Epsom Salts where you live. I just bought another 10 lbs. Here it is very cheap and quite effective.Cheers, Diana"

GENERAL FEEDBACK

[QUESTION] 01/28/2009: Maria from London, UK: "I would be grateful if anyone could help me with my terrible muscle pain which is located on the top side of my body near by breast. When I lay down in bed it is very painful. Can anyone recomend anything to get rid of this terrible pain? many thanks"
Replies01/28/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn. replies: "Hello Maria, Does this terrible body pain occur when lying in any body position or only when lying in one or two different positions? Either way, you need to know what is causing the pain before you get rid of it, because pain is your body's way of telling you that something is wrong.Another question that arises is, have you had any surgery close to the area of pain in the past?
The reason I am asking these questions is because of my niece's recent episode. She had surgery on kidney for cancer about a year or more ago and developed an unexplained pain a few weeks after and something protruding from her left rib cage. Her regular doctor and the surgeon kept telling her that she was fine, even after the final MRI and lab work. Her daughter insisted that she was "deteriorating before my eyes and if you don't know what is wrong with her refer her to someone that knows what she is doing". Fortunately she was referred to someone who knew what she was doing. The one she was referred to (along with lab reports & MRI), looked at lab reports and agreed they looked fine. She then put the MRI on the viewer and pointed at the protrusion the other two doctors were calling an insignificant fatty tumor and asked my niece if she knew what that is. My niece's reply was it feels like I've got a boil there but the doctor said it is a fatty tumor. The new doctor told her that it was a piece of her liver protruding, not a fatty tumor. She did surgery to correct the hernia (probably a complication of the previous surgery). My niece is now much happier without the pain and protrusion, now that her liver is back on the right side of her body where it belongs.
Now that you know why I am asking these questions, get yourself to a doctor who can get the tests done to rule out something serious. No one can tell you what is causing this pain without investigating the situation, and you don't want to get rid of the pain that is giving them an idea of what to look for before the cause is found."

[YEA] 01/02/2011: Evazz from London, Uk: "For everyone suffering with any type of muscle or joints pain, muscle strain, bruises, contusions - this is an amazing recipe:
2 liters of absolute alcohol (from the chemist)
1 big brunch of Arnica
2 avocado seeds, grated
50g of cloves
50g of black pepper
10 Camphor tablets
-Put everything in a glass jar with a lid and let it rest for at least 4 days. Then move the liquid [only to little bottles. Try to place them in different locations (safe & away from kids), so you can remember to apply several times a day. You must apply the remedy on the affected area AT LEAST 5 times a day. The success of the treatment depends on your own discipline and consistency. I know many success stories of family and friends that used this remedy and got hid of problems that doctors or physiotherapists couldn't help. It's been a bless in the life of many people. Be persistent and good luck!
PS. The recipe is from South America and I have no idea how easy/difficult is to find the ingredients in another countries. I am sorry I am unable to advise on any substitutions."

MAGNESIUM

[YEA] 08/27/2011: Sheila from San Diego, Ca: "In the past I've had the same pain in my upperback where my shoulder blade is on the leftside. I thought it was from exercising or over stretching, now I believe that the majority of those painful times are related to lack of Mg, especially after last night.
Last night, I felt in serious pain in the same spot. ACV hadn't worked -- thinking I had a potassium deficiency and possibly lactic acid building at the spot. So after much whimpering from the pain and sharp twinges and tiredness dealing with it, I logged onto Earthclinic to look up muscle tension. Scoliosis and Mg popped up from my search. I don't have scoliosis, but I decided to give Mg a try.
It worked! This morning I woke up with only a mild ache, and turning my head to look over my shoulder I only feel a bit of soreness, not the painful twinges nor tension I was feeling for most of the week or last night.
This is what I used last night, before bed:
1 capsule Magnesium Citrate 140 mg
1 capsule Vit B6 Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate 33. 8 mg
Both purchased from FoodScience of Vermont
and then after an hour or so,
1 teaspoon of Magnesium Chloride/Acetate liquid 133mg, diluted in 8 ozs of purified water
(I've taken the Mg Chl/Ace liquid before, for a skin reaction, so I knew it was going to make me sleepy.)
After eating breakfast this morning, I took another B6 capsule and this time 2 Mg Citrate capsules. I'll reserve the Mg Chl/Ace liquid for use at bedtime. It's afternoon now, and my back is feeling almost 100%. There's only a trace of soreness now.
Word of Caution: Loose stools can/will occur from taking Magnesium."
Replies08/29/2011: Sheila from San Diego, Ca replies: "Update -- The magnesium and B6 helped relieve the sharp pain, but I still have pain. I've stopped taking the magnesium for my trapezius pain, and am now utilizing stretching. I must have done something exercising that I didn't realize would cause a problem.I'm also scheduling a back massage this week to specifically target the trapezius.
Note: I mistakenly took magnesium chloride too early, before bedtime the other night. It made me so sleepy, but I didn't want to sleep yet, so I fought it and my head and eyes started to throb. I wouldn't advise taking Mg chloride unless you're absolutely ready for bed."

[SIDE EFFECTS] 09/15/2009: Sandy from Langley, Ok: "I started having muscle problems in February of 2009. Then in March, I got in bed, nightgown was under bottom, lifted bottom, used right arm to move. Tore rotator cuff in right arm. Went to clinic, they took X-ray, gave me pain pills (I do not like pain pills). So, finally went to Bone and Joint doctor, he did MRI, wanted to introduce me to surgeon. I did not want surgery. Did go to PT. Started having muscle problems all over body. Saw commercial about a statin drug. Not the one I was on, but got online and checked statin drugs and their side effects. I am sorry to say I have several of the signs, muscle cramps everywhere, numbness, forgetfullness! dark urine. All this made me so mad at all the doctors I have seen since March (5). Not one of them said a word and they all have a list of the medicine I take...1 blood pressure pill in am, 1 lovastatin in pm.
It has been nearly 3 weeks since I stopped taking the statin drug and I ache all over. Oh, and I was also have fast pulse (153) at times. Am currently on heart monitor. What can I do to fix this or is it too late?"
09/16/2009: Carolyn from Hobbs, Nm replies: "My husband was having the very same problem with the statin drugs and then we found the perfect solution at the health food store. Here is what he takes:
1. red yeast rice--2 per day
2. COQ10--1 per day
The doctor can't believe how good his cholesterol stays now. He said for him to keep up what he was doing. He had never seen anything like it.
Good luck,
Carolyn"
09/16/2009: Kathy from Dubois, Pa replies: "Drugs (of all kinds) are notorious for causing vitamin and mineral deficiencies and/or imbalances. You might want to start by doing a search on what kinds of vitamin and mineral deficiencies/imbalances statins cause and then go from there. I will do some searching and post what I find, too."

MULTIPLE REMEDIES TRIED

[NAY] 10/06/2008: Patsy from Moncton, NB. Canada: "Ted always writes about magnesium supplements and how great they are for almost everything. I have and still take 300mg of magnesium citrate 5 days a week but I see no benefits what so ever. I still suffer from muscle aches at night, I still have joint pain on my fingers and knees. I keep waking up all night and I have to nap every day. I also take a b 50-complex 1 or 2 daily and vit D3 2000-5000mg/day, folic acid 1mg a day, vit C 500mg/day. None of these help. I have also tried melatonin which made me more drowzy all day, sunlight therapy helped with joint pain and I still napped during the day but it's now October and cold. I sometimes do the baking soda for a few days but that only helps with my indigestion and it might give me bacterial vaginosis which I already have a problem controlling. I am feeling depressed b/c I can't find the right solution."
Replies10/07/2008: Sandy from Bangalore, India replies: "Muscle ache: muscles can ache if the body is dehydrated. Having 2-3 litres of PURE water everyday helps immensely. Also, eat a couple of bananas daily.
Joint pain: ensure you eat plenty of good oils like coconut oil, olive oil etc to lubricate the joints. This helps reducing joint ache. Also, simple yogic poses can help immensely."
10/07/2008: Bessie from Calgary, Alberta, Canada replies: "In response to Patsy from Moncton, NB: you might want to have your thyroid checked. I suffered from all sorts of muscle and joint pain, depression, restless legs, insomnia, no energy - even after I tried a wide variety of herbs, vitamins, exercises, etc. When your thyroid isn't working properly, your body won't work properly. Hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid) is extremely common. Unfortunately, most doctors rely only on lab test results (and it's debatable if they are even using the correct tests). Visit a naturopath or doctor with an interest in wholistic medicine. Also, check the library for books about the thyroid. Good luck!"
10/07/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Patsy:
Thank you for the insights that remedies is not working. In advanced cases this happens and I may need to explain when it doesn't work. The remedies I posted are general home remedies.
Advanced disease and cases you should consult an appropriate physician for an underlying serious condition.
I once remembered a case who complained of something as innocent as muscles and joint pain where magnesium is not working as it turns out the person had a serious case of metastatic bone cancer.
In another case, another person complained of a severe joint and muscle pain upon looking at the blood test results, it turns out that the uric acid concentration to be very high. Taking appropriate uric dissolving supplements cured the condition. In another case, also a bad muscle and joint pain, upon looking at hair mineral analysis, the blood copper and boron was almost nonexistent. An appropriate supplementation stopped the condition.
And even in another case of an accident victim had serious muscle sprain and to stopped that condition required that the person had to take a lot of digestive enzymes need to digest the muscle sprains abnormalities. In fact certain pharmaceutical preparations does in fact have digestive enzymes in their formulation for muscle pain.
Therefore, I believe if more appropriate information is given regarding blood tests, liver tests, hair mineral analysis, and urinary pH and salivary pH, it gives me great opportunity to find the cause of the issue in a more straight forward fashion.
At the moment I am pretty much left to throwing darts with a blindfold on due to lack of specific information for a specific case. Even in another case of joint pain I found that the real pain came from the movements of the leg, that issue was resolved by glucosamine sulfate.
And yet another case of a diabetic with severe muscle pain, that was resolved with magnesium with plenty of acetyl carnosine. The existence of muscle pain came from glycating muscle tissues and blood clotting features, resulting in limited blood flow, and hence a small amount EDTA was used along with vitamin E. Vitamin E reduces the oxygen demand for muscles resulting in reduce muscle pain and greater antioxidant properties. There was one interesting case where none of the supplement worked at all, upon looking at background information I found large stomach and slow digestive process, which indicated to be a large buildup of biofilms and mucus in the intestinal system. Appropriate measures for standard detoxed and castor oil to clear the system made the supplements worked, but only if the supplements were in powdered form.
Regarding your condition this would really help me if more information was provided in order to solve this problem. One case I found heavy metal poisoning, another was due to constipation, and yet another was due to spinal column blockage, which all leads to muscle sprains. Therefore there are two ways out of this as I can imagine, more background information concerning the condition, or see an appropriate physician.. If I were to guess as to why this is not working, it would appear that digestive enzymes were not use and the issue of alkalization was not pursued enough.
Perhaps the most interesting experience I ever had regarding muscle and joint pain had to do with one case where while magnesium did help somewhat, but the pain was still severe. I looked at the results of the blood test and found low red blood cells count as the cause. People might wonder how the red blood cells relates to persistent muscle pain. It is really quite simple, if there is lack of red blood cell, you have a condition what is known as hypoxia, where there is not enough blood to supply oxygen to the extremities of the body, especially the leg. When there is insufficient oxygen, the cells starve for oxygen, there's a buildup of carbon dioxide and lactic acid as a result. To increase blood count, 1/8 teaspoon of chlorophyll with iron supplements (the person also had low blood iron) was given. Chlorophyll has a molecular structure similar to blood cells with the exception of the magnesium instead of the iron. The iron supplements will replace with magnesium to become red blood cells. It was taken 1-2 times a day for a couple of days. Within a week, the pale bloodless face became fresh and the muscle pain was reduced. Yet in another case a check of blood work revealed high fats, which blocked the blood circulation. As a result granulated lecithin and avoidance of fatty oily foods was initiated and that helped greatly in restoring circulation and muscle pain which included both the back, neck and leg area. As to my own condition, I didn't have a muscle pain, it existed on the back of my neck. Obviously magnesium didn't work, neither did massage or other supplements. I therefore decided to do Solfeggio frequency. That helped only briefly, but what cured my neck ache which originated from the muscles was a cat's purr. Obviously I had a problem of vibrational imbalance in my body and the cat's purr helped completely my neck pain.
The one other possible remedy to try is 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 2 tablespoon of lime juice three times a day in 1 glass of water. This should have the needed potassium and sufficient alkalinity to resolve the problem. And if 3 or 4 days had no improvement I would either go see the doctor or get more analysis regarding blood tests, liver tests, spinal manipulations and hair mineral analysis. Home remedies isn't design to cure of advance cases of disease, that's the job of the doctors! If a conditions is Nay, it helps that a person give more diagnostic information. My favorite is urinary and salivary pH, hair mineral analysis, blood and liver tests, constipation, medicines presently taken. For example, if you take celebrex chances are good the the pain came from that medicine regarding muscle pains - it contains fluorine which makes the conditions worse. My remedy for celebrex "muscle pain" requires borax remedy - which removes the fluorine found in the celebrex out from the system. lol.
It should be obvious by now that I have barely scratched the surface to find the remedy for advanced joint and muscle pains. And if I were to write most every aspect of this condition, I have to write a very long thesis for this condition, and this is not really physically possible, especially with a huge backlog of emails I have already. Medicine is an art, it's rarely a science.
Ted"

NECK ISSUES

[YEA] 12/25/2007: Firas from Boynton Beach, US: "For the last 3 years nothing worked to fix my neck spasm. Reason of spasm, most probably, is a combination of stress and heavy physical activity. Tried Botox, muscle relaxant, tons of other injections, chiropractic, acupuncture, tons of other therapies but none worked. What helped are prayers and exercise and physical fixtures I invented by my self and sleeping on the side that my head tilt toward. Among the fixtures I invented are:
1. I used my pant belt to hold a pound or so of weight lifting disc and the other belt side was made round the diameter of my head. When placed on my head was back to normal position. This needs repetition for reprogramming your muscles. Also make sure your forehead blood not stagnating by frequently removing the belt, rubbing your affected area to re-circulate blood and put the belt back on head.
2. I used shower towel and pant belt. Twist the towel until tight, wrap it on your head and hold the lose two ends by hand then remove the towel while still twisted. Now use the pant belt to make a knot and hold the towel to diameter of your upper head. Push belt slightly inward and re-insert on top of your head. It worked like magic for me by removing some pain, fixing my head straight, and gave me feeling of more relaxed head.
3. Use olive oil or Emu oil to rub your neck 3 times a day.
4. Do lots of neck exercises, but need to consult your physician. Not all physicians will give you the proper exercise, some times you have to invent them or accidentally discover them on your own. I invented my own exercises that really worked like miracle for me.
Doctors will not give you the solution to this problem 99% of times, only 1% of times doctors "may" give you the cure. You must be your own doctor to solve your own problems.
Now if you want to publish my invention or mass produce it then remember that I published them here on Dec. 25, 2007. I also have been using them for over a year and saw good results. I hope that you will not be miss-guided by doctors, because it is painful to lose time and money in doctor's pockets without seeing any results my dentist (also did TMJ work for me but didn't work) was stunned when he saw the amazing results."

PUNCTURE WOUND
12/03/2011: Ss from Wilson, Nc/usa: "My husband shot a finish nail (no head on nail) from a nail gun into the muscle of his leg. The xray shows that the nail is an inch or so embedded in the muscle. We would like to avoid surgery. Any suggestions on how to get it to work its way out? The entry hole is very small about the size of a pencil point Thanks. Really like this site."
Replies12/04/2011: Oscar from Syracuse, New York, Usa replies: "Why not have that simple surgery and have that nail removed ? Leaving the nail embedded could lead to a dangerous infection. I have had pieces of metal embedded in me for different reasons. Get the nail removed. Do not play around with this. It sounds like the sort of injury that could be easily dealt with in a doctors office without the need for hospitalization. How about a little common sense here....Oscar"

Swelling/pain/had to walk on my toes of that foot.... Nothing to grab onto to get it out. I went to a doctor, afraid that he was going to slice my foot open. He said, either your body will accept it or reject it. After working on it for a few days... Gently sqeezing the swollen area... it popped out and healed fine."

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 11/24/2010: Pix from Los Angeles, Ca: "I was having a lot of muscle pain in my hands and wrists and my right arm and shoulder. It hurt so bad when I moved and it was really affecting my ability to complete my daily tasks. I ate cloves of raw garlic and cooked wild salmon ( I dont know if farmed salmon is good for you) for lunch and dinner. Next day, I felt a lot better. It's not completely cured and my stomach felt a bit uncomfortable from the raw garlic, but the pain was much better. Also taking a cold shower temporarily reduces the pain, but the garlic and salmon pain relief lasted longer. The pain for me keeps coming back because I always have to be on my computer, thus my hands/wrist and right arm never have a chance to fully rest. I switched to an ergonomic keyboard and mouse and this has helped a little bit... But still, not cured completely. If anyone has any suggestion, would be greatly appreciated."
Replies11/25/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Why don't you try adding the raw garlic to food? That is what I do, I add it to salads or just any food before I eat. I suppose that would be easier on your stomach..... As far as pain goes I have just finished a book on MSM, it might help you.... I haven't tried it yet but I consider trying for my allergies. Sauna also helps me so we bought a little one for our garden, an infra-red one which warms very fast and it is very economical to run!"

The doctor x rayed my leg because he thought I could have a blood clot which is of course dangerous! For about 6 months I had to sit or lie down until it healed on it's own. I hope you can find something to help it heal, I didn't.
But please don't mess with this torn muscle as the leg muscle can tear even more.
It takes time for the tear to heal. What did help me was wrapping the leg with an athletic wrap.
But don't wrap too tightly."

12/30/2011: Surulere from Bloomfield, Nj, Usa: "Folks, I need some serious help. Ive been through hell for past months. Doctors, ER and so on. I figure I take matters into my own hand now because I understand my situation better.
I have been experiencing extreme tight (It so tight when I wake up I can literally hear the cracks under my skin). Muscle from my neck, upper back and chest area for almost five months now. The spasm on the left side of my body is outrageous. And it seems to be going all over my body. It gets better during the day. However, I work on computers which makes my condition worse. The more I work, the more I feel pain in my entire upper back, head pressure like my body is sinking, head noise, spasm, like something is crawling under my skin. Sometimes I feel dizzy. Sleeping is a nightmare head sometimes are bad like my head about to explode and body noise which couple with upper back internal shakiness. I just hope it from muscle tightness.
I stopped working out because I'm tired and frustrated. Not sure as per what to do anymore.
Please Please Please... Any recommedation will be greatly appreciated. I just got my first baby. I need to be there for her.
Thanks and I appreciate all the work done on this site.
P.S. All blood work came out negative.. MRI and Xray indicated minore herniated disk on my Cervical 3, 4, 5"

Go see a chiropracter doctor.. That is what they do. Try to get a old school chiropractor, most of the younger/newer one are rip-offs, like the MD'S are. [= no real cures to offer]"

Now the surgeon says there is no problem with any bone touching the nerve but she is unable to fully walk and has a lazy right foot and leg that she can barely move. The doctors say that it will take many months or years for this condition to reduce- is there anything she can take to speed her recovery and heal the nerve damage?"

I have been told from people who use Aloe Vera of the effects they have felt, but do not know of anyone personally who has tried ACV.
I'm just in some need in some direction of what would be best for me (I suffer with severe muscle pain, have weak muscles and weak nerves) Any suggestions would be appreciated :)"

Thanks"
09/11/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Bob you may be magnesium deficient. Try rubbing some magnesium oil on your skin or bathing in epson salts. Taking magnesium transdermally (via the skin) is a much better way to get magnesium than tablets."
09/13/2011: Bob from Round Rock, Tx replies: "Thanks. Does anybody know where I can buy magnesium oil in Round Rock, TX or nearby Austin and which brand or type? Thanks"
09/13/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Bob, have you tried ebay? I just ordered some magnesium flakes magnesium chloride) from ebay.To make the oil you just use say one cup pure water boiled and add 1 cup of the magnesium flakes and stir til they dissolve. Then add it to a spray bottle or jar and use as needed. Cheaper to buy the flakes and make your own oil.
I am also going to put about 2 pounds (1kg) into bath water."
09/14/2011: Mj from Temple, Tx replies: "Learned in my search for a family's problem with mold, that this is what I probably had for years in the spinal area of my back surgery 6 years ago. I used h202, diluted down to 3 %. Found a 12% food grade in Temple, TX at the discovernaturalfoods.com health store. Start with one drop in pure water, then graduate up each day to ten drops. I stopped at ten drops, but took this on empty stomach up to three times a day. I take mine at night time when the problem starts. I now only do it when needed. Weather changes can trigger. But, lately, I now only use the one treatment a night about twice a week. Eliminated many other issues as joint, muscle pain. Also, order the magnesuim crystals from utankum.com and dilute one cup crystals to one cup boiling water. Put in spray bottle, and spray body area. I wouldn't do this around eyes. You just need to use an ionic magnesium orally to build up your mag. levels. Now, this homemade magnesuim oil, is also, magnesium chloride but if you feel safer, just buy it in the dropper bottle at your health store, and start with a few drops and likewize build up to 10 drops."

01/07/2011: Petunia from Seattle, Wa: "For almost 4 years I have been dealing with muscle spasms/pain in the right thoracic area.Originally the cycling spasms were brought on by repetitive use of my right arm, eating, picking berries, playing a board game, etc. But have advanced to almost constant pain. I am fine in the morning... No pain, but after a couple of hours it starts in for the day. This has become so bad it is debilitating and I am just worn out. I have been to a least 10 practitioners over three years, spine specialist, chiropractor, physical therepy, vitamin/mineral suppliments, acupuncture, etc. etc. This fall I went to a pain management clinic and had numerous cortisone shots in my spine with no help. I have now been prescribed narcotic pain tablets which I try to take only one midday, I do not want to depend on these.
Today I went to a neorosurgeon and he couldn't find anything. Other than this I am in very good health, 67 years old but feel and act much younger. I have spent hours... Days, studying on the internet to find a cause and relief. Does anyone on this site have any suggestions, could it be in the fascia? Thank you."
01/07/2011: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa replies: "Hi Petunia,
I would suggest you go to the place at: 5800 Soundview Drive Gig Harbor, WA 98335 (253) 576-8278
If that is close to you. Ask them if they do "Body Alignment Technique". If they do, then that is great! I really think that would help you. I do not know these people, but specifically ask them for the above quote, if they don't do it, then search on the internet for someone that does it close to you. I think that would really help you - and probably heal you!!"
12/06/2011: Farmer Rose from Athens, Ga, Usa replies: "Petunia, I wish I could tell you what it is. All I can say is that if no one can find anything, you may have food allergies or your colon is blocked, which can totally affect your nerve endings.Start by cutting out all wheat from your diet. If your colon walls are lined with wheat, no vitamins or minerals can pass through to your body, keeping your immune system in a state of shock trying to keep up...
To cleanse your colon, here's your cocktail.... Mix 2 shots of bentonite clay, with a few cups of aloe vera juice, a splash of just cranberry, & a shot of organic apple cider vinegar and the rest water. Drink it with a few fiber capsules (I like Fiber Fusion) a few Super Primrose Capsules and 4 Swiss Kriss tablets. Drink it at night b4 bed for 3 days & try to eat mostly vegetables, preferably raw & no sugar. Then continue to drink the vinegar a few drops in a glass of water 20 minutes before meals.
Or start taking enzymes (my favorite are at e3live.Com). Make sure to start your day with plain yogurt and eat lots of garlic. These two things will scare the excess yeast out of your body which clings to the wheat in your colon and feeds on it as it grows and takes over the body. Get rid of the yeast, begin to heal! After a few weeks if you start to feel better, you can introduce whole grain wheat back into your diet and see if you can handle it. Just make sure you are getting enough good fiber from leafy greens to push it through. & when in doubt, you can always have the cocktail, with or without the Swiss Kriss or the fiber caps. And it never hurts to rub iodine solution on your wrists, it's called Iodine Painting, it's as old as the hills and it really helps some people heal quickly because they are iodine deficient. Good Luck!!"

09/20/2010: Sara from Houston, Tx: "Dear Ted,
I have Myofascial trigger points muscle knots. I have not been able to recover in what feels like years. I recently stopped lifting heavier weights to try and minimize the tension and speed up my recovery. I went to see a trigger point massage therapist. She seems to make sense and the massages appear to help. BUT...with long hours at the desk I am afraid I won't be able to get rid of this "sick muscle" syndrome. The main culprit is my desk job. I think lifting weights contributed to my muscles being shortened. Now...what I want to know is...is there a cure? I am close to going to the doctor to get a prescription for Soma (muscle relaxant/pain relief) because of the everyday pain. I am a 32 year old female with a sturdy/fit build. I eat mostly vegan diet (eat seafood on occasion). I stick to organic and mostly non processed foods. I do not smoke or drink. I am sick of dealing with shoulder knots, stiff neck, and the pain at the base of my neck.... Where the skull connects to my neck. I am trying to be better about my sitting arrangements at work and do more yoga/stretching workouts. Is there a supplement I can take to remove the build up? Any recommendations? As always...thank you for your help! You are brilliant."
05/03/2012: Ben from St. Louis, Mo replies: "Someone please respond with advice if you have it. I have the same issue and it is so annoying. I too work on computers so I don't know if that could be the sole issue.I'm a younger male, exercise a lot and eat healthy with organic veggie juice, veggies, fruits, nuts, raw milk, fish etc. (lots of healthy things that I feel should help) but nothing works I even take lots of supplements like turmeric and cayenne pepper daily, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, black strap molasses (which I just started), raw cottage cheese/flax seed (budwig diet)
Massaging with coconut oil does work some but I just need for relief.
Something is bound to work. Please help if you can."

09/05/2009: Cindy from Ft Myers, Fl: "Hi Everyone,
I have suffered from daily muscle spasms in my back, neck and shoulders. I also have terrible brain fog. any input would be helpful. Cindy"
09/06/2009: Joyce from Joelton, Tn. replies: "Hi Cindy,
Muscle spasms/cramps brings two things to mind quickly: magnesium and potassium. While we are talking about magnesium, read Deirdre's comments about her transdermal magnesium oil. Sounds like much more rapid way to replenish ones supply without flushing it right on through by trying to do it orally. Maybe she might even reprint her source she found for magnesium chloride to make her own mg oil. I have been looking for it but haven't found it again yet.
I found myself with quite a bit of brain fog (trouble remembering lots of things including names of plants I have been growing for years after my 8 day bout in the hospital in early May. I attributed this to many antibiotics, multiple xrays, bronchoscopy, ultra sounds, etc. so I started myself on niacin 250 mgm 3 or 4 times a day in addition to my daily B100 complex and it is pretty much back to normal. But since I started losing hair at a rapid rate over the last 3-4 weeks, I have added a B50 complex about midday and close to bedtime. It seems to have stopped coming out & I seem to have new hair coming out (mostly about l to 2 inches long so far) but I have a long way to go to get a full head of hair back. Geez, I wonder do they need a female version of Yul Brynner, but come to think of it, I believe they already have Sigourney Weaver, don't they?
Sometimes I wonder if a lot of this brain fog isn't coming from sluggish thyroids and the reason the B vitamins work so well is because a deficiency of B vitamins causes a sluggish thyroid.Hope you find this helpful."
EC: Sure, I list the magnesium chloride source from Jane in the very first post on the Transdermal Magnesium Therapy page: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/transdermal-magnesium-therapy.html#WHERE

[QUESTION] 05/31/2009: Donna from Dalton, Ga: "we had several issues--my husband and i --we have done alternative medicine for going on 20 years--we started taking good bacteria exclusively about 6 months ago--everything started moving really well--except we are really sore--we are very hard working--exercise regularly--we are 55 and 54--does anyone know what the issue may be--thanks for your help"
Replies05/31/2009: Chris from San Pedro, Ca replies: "it might b toxins being released from excess candida.........there can b some really awful symptoms from that........find some supplements to help clear out ur body.........look for some amino acids, magnesium helps the sore muscles........"
05/31/2009: Anita from Muskegon, Michigan replies: "You didn't give much detail, but, here are some possibilities. First, you exercising quite a bit and with a lot of exercise your muscles release lactic acid which can cause cramps, muscle soreness, etc... To alleviate symptoms I take 500mg of potassium and usually within 5-10 minutes the muscle spasms and cramping stop. Also, I don't know what you are taking and that would help. If you are simply sore from exertion take a 20-30 minute bath with ACV before bed. I put in 3-4 cups (sometimes more.) In the morning my muscles feel great if I have over-done it with a workout. Hope this Helps! Anita"
06/02/2009: Joyce from Joelton,, Tn. replies: "Hi Donna,
Have you and your husband tried putting a cup or two of epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) in a bathtub of very warm water and soaking for a while after all that hard work? Really makes you feel lots better after the bath. You might also start taking a magnesium supplment, since we are all supposedly deficient of magnesium these days."
