Low Body Temperature Remedies

"An abnormally low body temperature (hypothermia) can be serious, even life-threatening. Low body temperature may occur from cold exposure, shock, alcohol or drug use, or certain metabolic disorders, such as diabetes or hypothyroidism. A low body temperature may also be present with an infection, particularly in newborns, older adults, or people who are frail. An overwhelming infection, such as sepsis, may also cause an abnormally low body temperature." Source: WebMD

[YEA]  02/27/2010: Faithinhealing from Forest Park, Ohio, Usa: "I wanted to add some information about raw coconut oil and low body temperature. I've successfully used it to help raise my body temperature. Although I do use it in my cooking, I also put it in my nose, tilt my head back and let it drain into my sinuses and throat. I then add some to each ear. I do this before bed and I seem to sleep better and my body temperature stays higher than it was. I also use it on my skin after my shower at night.

I've noticed that eating it is good, but doing this protocol regularly helps to keep my energy levels up without having to ingest it regularly and my feet and hands are no longer cold. By usiing it on the skin or in the nose and ears, it is still being absorbed transdermally but going immediately into your blood stream without having to be processed by the liver. If your liver is congested, ingesting it won't bring the same benefits as transdermal absorption does.

Also, adding good bacteria in the form of fermented foods such as Kombucha, raw organic kefir, raw organic honey, etc. will help to keep the inflammation at bay!"

I have more energy and am full all the time, so less cravings. I purchased Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil from Vitamin Shoppe. I love the taste and have replaced vegetable oil in cooking with CO. Also I have 1 tsp in the morning and sometimes 1 in the evening. It is a wonderful find to protect myself against cold. Just take care of eliminating your other fat/carbs in your diet, else it is likely to make you gain weight."

Exercise

04/11/2011: Gean from Salina, Ks: "Yesterday after a vigorous bike ride my temperature dropped to 92 degrees, taken with two different thermometers. After awhile it went back up slowly to 98.3. My temperature is normal otherwise, even first thing in the morning. I am curious to see if anyone else has a severe drop in temperature after hard exercise."

I also feel unwell afterwards. Isn't temperature supposed to go up in hot weather? Has anyone else had the same experience?"
08/24/2012: Halia from Charlotte, Nc replies: "Yes, it happened to me today. My temperature is usually at 97.6 (not good, I know). I was feeling decent and was in a good mood. I walked around the house for a bit and tried on a couple of outfits and suddenly my eyes started to feel heavy, my dark circles got worse, my legs started to hurt and my body temp went down to 96. I'm going to try the coconut oil treatment. I rarely can exercise because I get so tired for the rest of the week."

Remedies Needed

03/04/2013: Sara from Sacramento, Ca, USA: "My mom is 76 years old. She is pretty much healthy for her age, but she suffers from high blood pressure, osteoporosis and arthritis. She also takes vitamin D daily as her vitamin D is low. She has developed an unknown ailment recently that even her doctor could not figure it out. These are the symptoms of her mysterious aliment. All of the sudden, she feels cold and starts chilling for a while. It takes so may blankets, heating pad and so many hours in bed for her to feel warm again.

I am just wondering what is wrong with her. Is there a minral deficiency, or it could be heart problem. I am puzzled please help.

Thanks, Sara"

03/05/2013: Timh from Louisville, Ky, USA replies: "Sara: Dido on the possible parasites. Many natural doctors recommend an annual parasite cleanse for everyone. The possibility of a fungal or mycoplasma infection also seems likely here. There is lots of info for the treatment of all these suspected symptoms here on E. C. Garlic, Cinnamon, and Green Tea might be something in the cupboard you could begin straightway. Also, for immediate relief, try hot baths w/ 1/4 cup Epsom Salts, 1/4 cup Baking Soda, and 1/4 cup Borax. Speaking of minerals, Iodine is long been deficient in the modern diet, that's why the gov insisted on adding it to table salt several yrs ago. Try some Kelp tablets for starters on Iodine."
03/05/2013: Bill from San Fernando, Philippines replies: "Hi Sara... It is the thyroid that generally governs the temperature of the body. A quick way to check whether your mother is hypothyroid would be to check her body temperature first thing in the morning with a basal thermometer. The temperature should be 98. 6 F. If it is lower than this, then she is probably low thyroid or hypothyroid.

Another way is to go to your doctor and ask for a thyroid check. If you do this -- ask for the Free T3 and Free T4 hormone check because the regular TSH check is so notoriously innaccurate.

The remedy for low thyroid is to supplement 5% lugols iodine up to 8 drops a day( 50 mgs/day) in 4 split doses of 2 drops in water. The full Iodine Protocol is shown here and is a fairly easy protocol to follow:

Iodine Protocol

You can also verify what heavy metals she has in excess in her body and also ascertain what minerals she is perhaps lacking in her diet by having a hair analysis done(quite cheap).

All your mother's other problems also seem to be related to her possible thyroid problems. Her arthritis can be cured by taking the borax water protocol shown on the EC site. This just involves dissolving 1/8 tspn borax into one liter of water and drink this water throughout the day. Take the remedy for 5 days then have 2 days off the remedy. This will rapidly help to cure the arthritis. Bye the way, Borax is about as poisonous to humans as ordinary table salt -- you can check the Material Safety Data Sheet(MSDS) online to confirm this.

Rex Newham, an Australian PhD researcher had chronic arthritis in his early 30s. He discovered that taking just 60 mgs of borax a day completely cured his own serious arthritis problems after several months. See these links:

Rex Newham's Arthritis Cure

The Borax Conspiracy

Fluoride also inhibits thyroid activity. Borax also removes excess fluoride from the body.

Osteoporosis is caused by an imbalance between the calcitonin and parathyroid hormones. Osteoblasts help to form bone and osteoclasts remove bone in the body, putting it into the blood -- this is a natural ongoing metabolic process. The calcitonin hormone arises from the thyroid gland(another connection to low thyroid perhaps). Borax or boron is also needed to help regulate the parathyroid gland. Taking magnesium chloride or magnesium citrate will also help to regulate calcium in the blood which will also help to lower blood pressure. Avoiding salt, fats and sugar in the diet will also help to reduce blood pressure. The dose is 250 mgs magnesium twice a day(This is already in The Iodine Protocol). Excess calcium in the blood also inhibits iodine receptors and iodine absorption throughout the body and also depresses energy production in the cell mitochondria.

The Iodine Protocol will also help with your mother's high blood pressure problem. In this way, all your mother's problems seem to be related to a certain lack of nutrients with excess calcium and lack of iodine, borax and magnesium in the diet being the main culprits."

02/16/2010: Theo from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada: "I think low body temperature is the source of all my health problems. My basal (morning) temperature is a consistent 96.8 and throughout the day my temperature averages 97.4 with a high of 98.1.

I have had my thyroid checked several times and the numbers are always normal.

Currently I am trying iodine foot painting. I am also on day 4 of the borax fluoride remedy (1/8 teaspoon of borax and 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt all in 1 litre of water). Neither of these seem to budge my temperature at all, though. The reason I am trying these two remedies is because I discovered I had high mercury last year (been chelating since) and when I was a kid I took fluoride tablets in school.

The only thing I have found that affects my temperature is eating large amounts of coconut oil before sleeping. If I do that I wake up at a temperature of 97.5.

Does anyone have any other ideas?"

02/16/2010: Selena from Chula, Ga replies: "you should try reading the information on the internet about the copper:zinc balance in the body...someone posted an article on here a month or so ago and it got me doing a lot of research. Very interesting info. that deals with body temp., high metal readings in the body and such. too much for me to go in to detail but I think it may help point you in the right direction."
02/16/2010: Hope from Sacramento, Ca replies: "I would recommend looking into the iodine supplementation with companion nutrients-it sounds as though you are hypo-thyroid. It can take up to 1-2 years to bring the temperature to the norm even with the protocol but it is well worth it, if that is what your body needs. With the protocol, you will most likely feel much better within 1-3 months, even though the body temp may take much longer to balance out."
02/23/2010: Mary from Regina, Sasketchewan, Canada replies: "Dear Theo:

Wow I feel your pain. My body temps were very low with the corresponding "fine" blood work. I am being helped greatly by using T3(triiodothyronine) which is the active form of the thyroid hormone. this is a bio identical hormone that has helped many people. The protocol to take it is a little difficult and unusual. It is taken at precisely 12 hour intervals. The time and effort is worth it as you will actually watch your body temperature rise and the symptoms go away. will need a docs prescription in Canada (that is unfortunate but not impossible). this type of hypothyroidism is called "wilson's syndrome", and is a peripheral problem not a glandular one. This is why the blood work does not pick it up. Best of luck!"

02/24/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "This is so interesting because I just learned about T3 and its importance. You can listen to Dr. Brian Clement, a brilliant man who owns and runs Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida, on youtube and hear him speak about this and thyroid. It is under Dr. Brian Clement on whole food supplements. It is a 10 part series and you will find this particular subject in part 8 #56. He is an articulate speaker and the entire series is well-worth listening to as he covers many diseases, illnesses, etc. Hope you can check it out.

10/12/2011: Mary from Livermore, Ca replies: "Commenting on low body temperature, I have the same problem for ten years tsh test kept coming back normal, pain all over my body, and feeling sick all the time. Finally a doctor said lets do a thyroid antibody blood test and it came back high and I had hashimoto's and chronic thyroidititis. Tsh test even if it comes back normal and you are still feeling bad have your doctor run that test, thyroid doctors don't even look at the tsh they only look at the t3, t4 test, so hope you dont have to go thru what I did, surgery. Thyroid cancer does not show up in the blood test. Better to be safe then sorry."
