Dissolve Kidney Stones
"Kidney stones, also called renal calculi, are solid concretions (crystal aggregations) of dissolved minerals in urine; calculi typically form inside the kidneys or bladder. The terms nephrolithiasis and urolithiasis refer to the presence of calculi in the kidneys and urinary tract, respectively.
Renal calculi can vary in size from as small as grains of sand to as large as a golf ball. Kidney stones typically leave the body by passage in the urine stream, and many stones are formed and passed without causing symptoms. If stones grow to sufficient size before passage %uFFFD on the order of at least 2-3 millimeters %uFFFD they can cause obstruction of the ureter. The resulting obstruction with dilation or stretching of the upper ureter and renal pelvis as well as spasm of muscle, trying to move the stone, can cause severe episodic pain, most commonly felt in the flank, lower abdomen and groin (a condition called renal colic). Renal colic can be associated with nausea and vomiting due to the embryological association of the kidneys with the intestinal tract. Hematuria (bloody urine) is commonly present due to damage to the lining of the urinary tract." (Wikipedia)

[YEA] 11/15/2006: Kathy from West Salem, IL writes: "I took Shaklee's Alfalfa for my kidney stones. I had 3 large ones and Dr was set to blast them.Did a Cat Scan to locate them and was shocked to find them gone. He gave God the credit but I did drink lots of water and took 20 4 times a day of Alfalfa. Had read that someone else had done this and it worked for them. It worked for me too. For the bleeding I had in my first experience I have learned that Magnesium relieves that. I drank lots of water too. It cured 3 stones that the doctor described as bigger than a 50 cent piece. I really like the idea of the lemon juice and olive oil. But I tried that and like others it did not work for me. But appreciated knowing this to share with others that might find it works for them."

Nothing seems to work. I recently started drinking organic apple cider vinegar with water three times a day. Use two tablespoons of vinegar to equal amounts of water. You can add honey if it helps. I noticed the color was different when I passed it. I get about one a week. The pain is just awful. I hope this helps."

Day 1
6 limes

alfala tablets
Mix limes w/water drink throughout the day. Every waking hour take 2 alfalfa tablets.
Days 2&3
throughout the day drink same amount of water-no limes and same amount of tablets. Simple. Avoid all caffine products including chocolate during this cleanse. 2 YEA[YEA] 03/06/2008: alicia (wezthagooftroop@yahoo.com) from Bella Vista, Arkansas writes: "Chanca Piedra extract is a must! My husband had kidney stones that were as large as his kidney. Twice he has went through a series of surgeries to break up and remove stones. After the second time, the Doctors told him if he ever had a stone like this again, it would mean they would have to remove his kidney. I began researching stones. Then next time he got kidney stones we used the Chanca Piedra. He painlessly resolved the stones by using 60 drops of chanca piedra in a glass of water twice a day until the tincture was used up. He never has troubles with stones now as long as he stays away from Coca-Cola. Chanca Piedra is carried in some healthfood stores, but if you cannot find it there, it's online. herbs4usa.com is a great place to buy it. You can also just type in the search bar chanca piedra extract, and it will lead you to many different carriers, but raintree is the best. I hope this is helpfull to many. It saved my husbands life."

2 YEA[YEA] 05/06/2007: Scott (kokopelli@gmail.com) from Coatesville, PA writes: "Having read these testimonials, I'm strongly considering trying this soon, although my stones (yes, plural) are calcium oxylate, and there seems to be some question about the effectiveness of this remedy for those types of stones. Further internet research suggests that corn silk tea, and possibly marshmallow herb or another ingredient may be effective for these types of stones. Is anyone familiar with this, and knows how to go about it?"
[YEA]Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Scott: If the body was properly alkaline, the oxalic acid would not enter the bloodstream as the intestines would neutralize the oxalic acid and get neutralized then and there and goes out the bowels. If the oxalic acid goes into the blood stream without sufficient bicarbonate, the oxalic acid will react with the calcium in the blood plasma and this tends to accumulate in the kidney forming kidney stones. Most herbs are generally effective via its ability to cause diuretic, but in some cases are not alkaline enough to prevent oxalic acid form forming. Eating foods high in oxalic acid may also worsen the condition, such as oxalic rich foods found in peanuts, beans, chocolate, for instance. Vitamin C sodium ascorbate tends to neutralize the oxalic acid, and so does vitamin B complex. Baking soda is still the most important element so that it will prevent the body form absorbing the oxalic acid by forming sodium oxalate, which are generally less reactive to the calcium to form calcium oxalate. Most people who have kidney stones, do not generally eat fruits and citric acid contents in the fruits generally will prevent oxalic acid from forming into calcium oxalate also."

CREAM OF TARTAR, APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND BEER
[YEA] 07/10/2007: SARAH from CLARKSVILLE, TN writes: "THIS PAST WEEK I HAVE PASSED TWO STONES, A WEEK APART. THE FIRST ONE WAS BAD, I PASSED BLOOD IN MY URINE FOR THREE DAYS. I ALSO TRIED THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. THEN AT NIGHT AFTER DINNER, I DRINK A BEER. THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE YEAST THAT FLUSHES THE STONE OUT FAST. AFTER THE THIRD NIGHT OF PAIN IS WHEN I TRIED THE BEER AND WATERMELON. THE NEXT MORNING AT 2:30 A.M. I PASSED MY STONE WITH NO PAIN. THAT WAS ON A TUESDAY MORNING. THE THIS PAST SUNDAY NIGHT, I STARTED AGAIN WITH THE PAIN. THE NEXT MORNING I STARTED THE CREAM OF TARTAR AND AT NIGHT THE BEER. I DID THAT ALL DAY MONDAY AND THIS MORNING- TUESDAY I PASSED THE BIGGEST STONE I HAVE EVER PASSED IN THE 7 YRS. OF CONSTANT STONES. I HAVE NEVER REALLY GOT A GOOD REASON FOR THE FORMING OF STONES IN MY BODY, THE ONLY THING I KNOW IS THAT THEY ARE CALCIUM STONES. I HAVE ALSO TRIED THE OLIVE OIL AND GRAPEFRUIT JUICE, THAT DOESNT REALLY WORK, BUT NEVER TRIED IT WITH LEMON JUICE WHICH MAKES MORE SENSE."

DIAGNOSING A VITAMIN C DEFICIENCY
[YEA] 03/23/2005: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Kidney stone and gallstone may be related if we are talking about vitamin C deficiency. There is a much easier way (possibility) of testing what kinds of stones you have at your home and deciding which remedies will be best for you. The methodology is quite primitive, and it is just an intellectual guess. However, if you want to try it out here it is:
This can easily be done by collecting a cup of urine sample and, quite obviously, when you do have stones or developing them there is a good chance it will be cloudy. Separate them in different cups and try adding first cup with vitamin C, Second cup, you can reserve this and test for urine conductivity and sugar in your urine using a Brix (as shown in the pH - the scoop section) If your urine clears up, in first cup then you know it is calcium phosphate. There is an imbalance of calcium:phosphate. This can be corrected by adding magnesium, boron, and possibility of determine whether your diet is more or less calcium.
In practice this is from excess dietary phosphorous which comes from meats and soft drinks. For the second cup which you test for sugar and conductivity. It means the possibility of stones to form from excess sugar if your sugar levels are much higher than normal. If the conductivity is excessive, it means your stones will form from lack of drinking water. Of course, testing your pH for your urine and if it is too low (below 6) or too high (above 7.0) then you know that stones exists because of pH imbalances. These are just rough guesses. Acid urine might mean you are taking too much meat. Alkaline urine means you are taking too much vegetables. A cloudy urine could also mean vitamin deficiency. If you take a multivitamin day one and day two you have clearer urine, then stones are avoided.
If it does not clear up and you take vitamin B complex and your urine clears up it means you have vitamin B deficiency. On the other hand if you have gout, then it is obvious you have uric acid problem which can be alleviated by taking small amounts of lithium in water about 2-5 mg/day to dissolve that. Sodium bicarbonate might help but it is obvious that taking more water and eating less meat will be most helpful.
There are many causes of kidney stones depending on the types of stones.
1. Calcium oxalate does not dissolve in acid urine, but might be helpful in prevention through more alkaline urine. However, once formed, they are impossible to dissolve. This is not common in humans, but dogs are very susceptible. Oxalates are common in spinach and rhubarb. However, diets rich in oxalates are much to be desired in case of viral diseases or cancer as oxalic acid have anticancer properties. The mysterious anticancer drugs of Doctor Koch, glyoxylide is actually a form of oxalic acid, commonly referred to as glyoxylic acid (oxalacetic acid). There is in fact three U.S. patents that deal with diets rich in oxalic acid in dealing vascular, cancer and AIDS. There is a possibility of dissolving calcium oxalate. This one exception could be disodium EDTA and sodium bicarbonate (which is alkaline). In practice, if calcium oxalate is formed using Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) is the most common practice by breaking the stones with the use of shockwave."

I was not real thrilled by the thought of drinking olive oil, so I tried just the lemon juice to start. I guessed the olive oil was to make things a little slippery. I've had four bouts with kidney stones over the last 10 years - all had to be lithotripsied. I took 2 ounces of lemon juice at 3:00pm and then at 9:00pm. The next day I felt the stone move, I repeated the processes and began to pass sand like pieces (indicative that the lemon juice may have broken the stone up). A day later the stone passed with VERY little pain. Next time, I'll brave up and try the olive oil too."

First you must soften with any numerous kidney cleanses. i.e. a week of apple juice. then you must cleanse with epson salts and then do the lemon or grapefruit and olive oil routine. It may take several tries but it works. when my wife and i did it last year we only got gravel because the cleanse had broken up the stones. 1 YEA[YEA] 02/02/2008: Athena from Chicago, IL writes: "WOW! I used 3 oz of fresh lemon and 3 oz of EVOO and followed it with a quick 12 oz of water every hour. In 20 minutes the pain subsided. In 2 hours I could feel the stone moving down through my side without pain. Very strange feeling but not at all painful. Then in a total of 3 and a half hours total, I felt a strong urge to go and two huge stones came out one after the other. Also, I must have had a lot of fluid because I really kept going. Then I puked a couple of times from all that stuff but it was well worth it. I lost 4.5 pounds of fluid in those few hours. It is not the best thing to drink but when you guzzle it down it goes much better. I will never try anything else ever again and I tried everything. The doctor told me my stones were too big to pass, but either mine broke in two(there were lots of small particles as well) or I passed two or more. My stones were calcium."

Though I didn't have any lemons and the store across the street didn't either, limes seemed to do the trick. Now I'm not trying to product placement here but to be fair, honestly I had a shot of Noni juice too. Found some noni tea as well. I haven't drunk the tea yet but already with the lime & olive oil the pain isn't as sharp, it's a little more mellow. Followed with a liter of water and I'll continue to drink water. Good luck to anyone else needing this info. It tastes pretty strong but on the plus side it makes your lips feel great. I took a shot glass and regular glass to tumble the liquid together. Kinda airy but mixed well since I shot it like tequila!"

MAGNESIUM, CALCIUM, VITAMIN B-6
[YEA] 04/23/2006: Bertha from Phoenix writes: "I have read two books by a great American researcher and nutritionist: Adelle Davis. She thoroughly explains why kidney stones are formed, that kidney stones can be prevented and that kidney stones can be dissolved. Magnesium is essential because it acidifies the urine and in acid urine stones cannot be formed. Vit B6 prevents the formation of oxalic acid kidney stones and calcium has to be present in the died because if calcium is lacking in the diet, the body will withdraw it from the bones and form the stones just the same. As magnesium interacts with calcium, if both minerals are taken in the right proportions (300 mgs of magnesium per 1 gram of calcium) kidney stones are not formed and/or can be dissolved. This is what has kept me free from stones for the last 20 years. As soon as I FEEL there's grit in my kidney, I increase my intake of magnesium and problem is gone in 24 hours."

I read about the above and decided at 2:00 am. I had nothing to loose. I mixed the two ingredients, drank it and followed with a large glass of water. I also added 24oz of Diet Caffeine free Coke. Read some more stuff and finally went to bed at 4:00 am. I decided I would go to to the emergency room at 5:00 if nothing changed. I fell asleep and woke up at 6:00 with the pain almost gone. By 8:00am the pain was gone. I will try a couple more doses today and hope I'm cured. Thanks."

Fast forward 4 months later to November 18/07. Again woke early and got the worst pain imaginable out-of-the-blue again. Exact same pain, but this time was accompanied by violent vomiting that just wouldn't end, even after there was long since nothing left to vomit. Pain, just like the first attack, lasted the entire day and was excruciating again. Got to sleep again that night, and once again pain was less the next day and tolerable, but still hadn't seen a doctor about the condition yet. No blood in urine this time surprisingly enough.
Finally, after close to 8 months of discomfort and frequent urination (up to 25 times a day, I meticulously kept track one week), I went to the ER and sat out the multi-hour wait and saw a doctor. He immediately suspected kidney stones, and got me in for a CT scan after the weekend was over. Scan showed a 6mm calculus (stone) stuck in the right ureter, within an inch or 2 of the opening to the bladder. Didn't know what kind of stone it was, CT doesn't show that and this was my FIRST stone ever, so had nothing to compare to. Got an appointment with the Urologist, and he said there was pretty much no chance of passing the stone anymore if I hadn't done so in 8 months. I had just nicely started taking an anti-inflammatory and a flo medicine, plus drinking gallons of water, hoping that I could still pass the stone since I had just nicely found out that I had one. But despite this, the Urologist booked me for surgery for 4 weeks later.
Then I got desperate for a home remedy, NOT wanting the ureteroscopy surgery. I started with lemon juice but didn't have any olive oil on hand so substituted canola oil in its place. But didn't do remedy right because I was using 2 oz of lemon juice but only a tablespoon or 2 of canola oil because the taste was so bad. Then a week later I got some groceries and bought lots of lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, and also some Coca-Cola and canned asparagus just in case I needed to try the other "famous" remedy found frequently on the internet.
I took 2 oz of Lemon Juice mixed with 2 oz of Olive Oil, and took this twice a day... once in the mid-afternoon and once in the late evening, at least an hour before bed. I was still taking my 1 flo med each evening, but had stopped taking the anti-inflammatory a week earlier. Three days passed and no success, so I decided to try the 6 cans of Coke and 8 oz of pureed asparagus. It was very hard to do without throwing up, being so full that the distended belly was almost too much to cope with, but I managed to do it.
No success the next morning, so went back to my Lemon Juice/Olive Oil routine. Did that for 2 days, and was giving up hope and down to my last flo med pill. Woke up 5 times that night to go pee, but still nothing. Finally got up for good at 835am, tired and depressed. Sat down to go pee this time (other times that night I stood up and strained through strainer), and while sitting and straining the pee, OUT PLOPS THE 6MM STONE into the plastic strainer!!!!!!!! NO PAIN whatsoever, just weird tickling or tweaking in my lower right side and a bit of discomfort for the first time in my lower "left" back. I was SHOCKED. 8 months, 8 days, and 2 hours and it finally came out!!!
Now to pass the stone after all this time, which most everyone thought would be impossible, was amazing and a massive relief. Was it just the lemon juice and olive oil? Or had the coke and asparagus remedy 3 days earlier also contributed? And maybe the Flomax helped too? All I know is that I danced and jumped up and down with joy after that weird, brownish, oval-shaped stone plopped out like a legless spider or beetle or something. And the last 2 days had just been with lemon juice/olive oil and 1 flo med, so I have to give most of the credit I think to the Lemon Juice and Olive Oil. And NO PAIN, stunning!
So to sum up, if I could pass a 6mm stone, stuck in the ureter for over 8 MONTHS, using the home remedies of Lemon Juice/Olive Oil, Coke/Asparagus, and 1 flomax each night, then there is hope for those in a similar situation. Oh, and drink water like it is going out of style, 10-15 full glasses per day. I was drinking after every pee, every meal, and practically every 30 mins. in between time. No little sips, full glasses of water each time. There was hope and in the end the home remedies worked. 3 days of Lemon/Olive, 1 day of Coke/Asparagus, followed by 2 days of Lemon/Olive worked for me. Thank you very much to EVERYONE that has posted on this "Earth Clinic" site, even the Nays, because in the end the great balanced opinions I got on this board told me that these were REAL people, and it came through for me in the end. Now I have to call and cancel my SURGERY....no 2-foot telescope going up the winky on this guy!!!!!"

A brief background on my experience with kidney stones: I had had one previously in 2005, a 4-5 mm renal stone. The experience was uncomfortale and, at times, painful. I initially thought I had appendicitis, as I experienced pain in my side like never before. I felt like I was going to pass out from the feeling. An Emergency Room visit confirmed the stone and, after two weeks of an uncomfortable and agonizing feeling of urinating, it spontaneously passed.
Fast forward two and a half years later when I had the same feeling two weeks ago. I wasn't sure it was a kidney stone until the incessant urge to urinate began a day later. This must be one of the most uncomfortable feelings ever! Not necessarily painful, however, it is extremely difficult to go to sleep and work, as you constantly find yourself in the bathroom trying to rid yourself of this excruciating sensation.
After two weeks, I was ready to try anything. The vicadin wasn't working as well as it did at the onset and I needed a solution. I googled kidney stone remedies and this site popped up. I was, of course, skeptical at first. However, after reading testimonial upon testimonial of people that the remedy had helped, I figured it couldn't hurt.
I simply mixed the 2oz of olive oil with 2oz of lemon juice. I gulped it down quickly and drank a full 8-12oz of water afterward. Just an hour or two before the stone passed, I could tell something was going on. My pain did escalate and I had to take a vicadin, as it was too severe to sit through. However, the pain mysteriously subsided before the pill could even take effect and a few hours later, the stone passed. Maybe this was the remedy taking full effect?
I'm going to a Urologist in a few weeks in hopes of finding preventative measures to never experience this again. However, if I am unfortunate enough to have another kidney stone, you will be certain I'll be trying this remedy before anything else!
Thanks earthclinic!!!!!"

So along comes child #3 and went online to see about passing the stone with the least pain possible.
WARNING!!! DO NOT BUY URIFLOW!!! IT DOESN'T WORK!!! I spent $60 on those pills and all they did to their credit is ease the pain a bit.
It was going on 2 1/2 weeks & 2 ER visits later and I was all out of options until I came on this site and found the Olive Oil & Lemon Juice remedy. Let me tell you that this works!!! I felt a little jolt and pop it came out! Didn't hurt at all.
Thanks so much for posting this remedy. I finally found the answer!!!"

We were scheduled for a CT scan -- but wanted to try this. The pain was horrible for him. I had him drink it at night and then again the next night. Pain was gone!!!! And he has not had a reoccurence. We are not sure if he passed the stone or not...maybe it was very small! Thanks again."

At 10:00pm on Thursday evening I drank 2 oz of lemon juice and sopped up about 1.5 oz of olive oil with some bread. At 6:30am the following morning I noticed the pain was gone in what felt before like my urethra, but now that I have a better understanding of where the ureter meets with the bladder, I knew it had been coming from the spot where the stone was seen. They are extremely close together! Ten minutes later I had, with some serious trepidation, peed out a stone that was 5mm in width. I was thrilled, felt significantly better, and continued taking a few oz. of straight lemon juice and some olive oil (always with bread) throughout the day.
Nothing else visible has come out, but I feel 100% better and can't wait to get the reaction from the Urologist I'm scheduled to see Monday morning! Thanks for this site- I feel as if it saved me from enduring more pain, and a medical procedure to eliminate the stone (not to mention the money it would have cost).
Three month ago I began taking supplemental calcium at the suggestion of my Doctor. I have since read in a number of studies that supplemental calcium (opposed to dietary calcium) is correlated with a higher incidence of kidney stones. If the results from the lab indicated that the stone I passed is the Calcium Oxylate variety, the mystery will be solved!"

I also note that several of the naysayers had adverse reactions to the remedy, suggesting that their insides were in a worse state than others, and perhaps too acidic for the remedy to work quickly.
The naysayers were also more skepticla on the whole. Many had stuck stones. A couple or so conjectured that this might have been the reason the remedy didn't work. However there were also yeasayers who had stuck stones. One naysayer said a stone he had actually grew in size even though he had taken the remedy over a long period, suggesting that some other factor was at work that was nullifying the effect of the remedy. Was he also on medication, for example? What was his diet like? He doesn't say. I would suggest then that in general the naysayers did not try a large enough dose at sufficiently frequent intervals for a stuck stone or for stones forming in environments where they were growing and/or multiplying rapidly to be dissolved."
