1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED
[YEA] 12/29/2005: Patty from Bartow, FL writes: "Using blackstrap molasses, along with brewer's yeast and wheat germ, completely reversed the graying that had took hold of my dark brown hair. You could actually see individual strands that were gray/white turning brown again!"
05/31/2009: Susan from Hong Kong, SAR, China replies: "Please state the quantities of your recipe, and did you mixed them with water or other liquid?"

BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES, BREWERS YEAST
[YEA] 04/13/2009: Cathy from Decatur, TX writes: "I have been coloring my gray hair for over 20 years. Decided to stop and try something natural. I went with the 1 Tb. molasses and 1 Tb. brewers yeast twice a day. Started about a month ago and not much change. I read that you need copper and my brewers yeast did not have copper in it. I changed to a different brand that had copper and now I am seeing more and more brown hair. I never would have believed it if I wasn't seeing if for myself. I am 52 years old and started getting some gray in my hair while still in my early 20s.
It works."

[YEA] 10/01/2008: Aarah from Stroud, Gloucestershire writes: "I am a bit confused over the apple cider vinegar and baking soda. At the moment i am taking blackstrap molasses and brewers yeast to reverse grey hair , it seems to be working very well so far, but i also take acv. I have been told that baking soda robs the body of b-vitamins and so if i do put this in my acv, would it take away all the b vitamins i am taking from brewers yeast and bsm? I would be gratefull if anyone can answer this one for me as i would like to add baking soda to my acv but will hold off for now untill i get some advice."

BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES, WHEAT GERM, BREWER'S YEAST AND VITAMIN C
1 NAY
[NAY] 04/22/2008: Donald from Washington, DC writes: "Guys I have tried the 2 tbsp per day (molasses, wheat germ, brewer yeast) and it does NOT work. If our DNA states that we will turn gray by let's say 35 then it is impossible to alter the genetic code. Think about it before you try buying and consuming these supplements."
03/01/2009: Deborah from Saint Augustine, Fl replies: "Re: 04/22/2008: Donald from Washington,DC. I think you should state that it did not work for you; as it has obviously worked for others. And since BSM has many vital minerals it certainly can't hurt! It may be as Kevin from NYC states you may be taking other things that are interfering with its' absorption. Understand too that families tend to eat similarly thus causing what appears to be genetics or heredity. I don't know specifically about graying in your twenties, but in other areas there is a correlation to familial diets and their individual health. As for me I'm going to try it. I could use the trace minerals and iron as well."

[YEA] 08/01/2006: Ryein from Michigan writes: "Gary Null says to drink chlorophyll every day. That's what he does and doesn't seem to have a gray strand of hair on his head. I'm going to do that and I let you know how it works."
08/21/2008: George from Lanesville, United States replies: "It's worth a try. I may add chlorophyll to my anti gray hair regimen, which for now consists of blackstrap molasses, biotin, and 100 mgs of zinc. I just started this regimen 2 days ago, so it's much too early to gauge how it works. I haven't tried the Brewer's yeast yet as so many others have. I'm still up in the air as to whether I'll incorporate that as well, first I want to see how the above mentioned works before choking down Brewers yeast and orange juice. Regarding Gary Null, I've seen him in person several times, and while he has a good full head of hair, it's kind of a weird looking color when you see him up close. If I had to guess, I would think he uses some kind of dye. On the other hand, he certainly has plenty of hair for a guy whose age I estimated at around 67."

[YEA] 11/17/2007: Saima from Edinburgh, uk writes: "I am a 70 year old grand and great grand mother with absolutely not a single grey hair ! My secret... Coconut oil which I had applied daily in my youth on my hair (though I haven't used it for sometime now ). My son's head is almost entirely grey . He doesn't listen... Try it .It's cheap because I never used the expensive organic or extra virgin variety . It beats the expensive supplements! I've recommended to many very happy friends."
03/06/2008: Ann from Brisbane, Australia replies: "Hello, I am interested in the coconut oil treatment for grey hair that Saima recommends. Would you have to apply it every day and wouldn't this be very greasy and inconvenient?"
[NAY] 06/04/2009: Imran from Ghani, Lahore Punjab Pakistan replies: "dear saima cocnut oil works to strengthen your hair and helps in controlling hair loss but at the same time it turns your hair grey because me and my many friends have tried it therefore just be carefull before u use it as remeby for the grey hair. rehards imran ghani"
[YEA] 06/05/2009: Sandy from Bangalore, India replies: "Coconut oil does NOT turn hair grey. It infact makes black hair look jet black. I am 35 years old, and have been using coconut oil on my hair since childhood (as is traditional in South India), and my hair is jet black with not a single grey strand. My dad is 70 years old and uses coconut oil on his hair daily since his childhood, and he has black hair, not grey. I repeat, coconut oil is good for hair and maintains it dark."
[YEA] 07/15/2009: Monsoon from Pune, India replies: "Coconut Oil is the best for hair. Not only for gray hair, but everything for hair. It prevents and controls hair loss, it conditions the hair, it stimulates hair growth, helps to grow long hair, helps the scalp issues and what not. Coconut Oil scalp massages are very common in India and prevelent in almost all homes. The most simple way is - Warm some coconut oil, add a few drops of limejuice, 3-4 curry leaves. Apply on scalp while its still warm.
It will instantly relieve your head, and help your hair.
Hope this helps.
God Bless"

STAY AWAY FROM COFFEE, NO ALCOHOL EVER!!! DO BLACK TEA, IF YOU MUST. EACH CYCLE, OR SHIFT I MENTION IS IN 6 WEEK CYCLES, GIVE IT 3-6 MONTHS IF YOU ARE THIS IMBALANCED AND ARE GREY AT 25 YEARS OLD, SHAME ON YOU I AM 40 AND HAVE ALMOST NO GRAY HAIR, MY ENTIRE FAMILY, EXCEPT ME AND MY RAW FOOD CHEF LITTLE SISTER ARE ALL GREY. 06/12/2009: Rob from Manhattan, New York writes: "Polygonum multiflorum..herb.(Japanese Knotweed, Fo-ti, He Shou Wu ('Black-haired Mr. He'),) I haven't used it long enough to say whether it works but have tried it for hair loss and for this I cannot say whether it works since I haven't been consistent with it's use..A traditional Chinese herb used in tonics for rejuvenation, grey hair, erectile dysfunction. etc. I would try to buy an american brand..(better regulated quality free of toxins)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygonum_multiflorum"
06/13/2009: Rena from Mineral Bluff, Georgia replies: "Hi Rob From Manhatten,I've been experimenting with the herb Polygonum Multiflorum, and it does seem to be working but it is very slow. I was at about 35% gray, but recent pictures tells me I have decreased in gray, and natural hair color is coming back little by little. At first I thought I might be under 10% gray now, but the pictures tells me it's more like 20% still gray (wishful thanking I guess). I am making my own tincture, and it seems to be working better than the health food store pills. I still want to give it more time, and am not giving up.
I started taking the health food store capsules back in Mid January, 2009, with little effect. Then started making my own Tincture about Mid March, whereas I started noticing some results. So in essence I have decreased gray hair by about 15% in the last 3 months. It is stated on herb pages that it takes approximately 6 months for desired results. I am hoping I can report even better progress within the next 3 months.
My partner who is 62 has thinning hair along with gray hair, has only been taking my tincture for about 2 months. He told me his feels like it is getting thicker, and pictures are showing a slight difference. We are both hopeful, but again it is too early to be conclusive. I will report back in a few more months and let those who are interested know. Peace, Rena."
EC: Please read the article: Potential rare liver reactions to "He Shou Wu" (Polygonum multiflorum)
06/14/2009: Rob from Manhattan, New York replies: "thanks EC...I wonder if it is from the herb itself or from possible contaminants? Good to know if any symptoms do arise... perhaps should alternate with Milk Thistle to protect the liver...?"
[NAY] 08/30/2009: Rena from Mineral Bluff, Georgia, USA replies: "I have to retract my Yea for fo-ti to a Nay. I was not meaning to be deceitful but I only figured out recently that it is due to where the flash of the camera is placed on my hair. The camera flash really picks up the gray, and if the camera is further away, my hair looks darker. However, recently I took another photo at exactly the same distance from a picture I took back in June and there was no change in the gray. I wish there was a way to post pictures on Earth Clinic to show what I mean. Guess I will have to put up with aging and the gray, such is life, Peace, Rena."

1 WARNING!
[YEA] 05/13/2007: Riki from DaLian, China writes: "I have used H2O2 as a mouth wash and cleaning open wounds for nearly 40 years and it always work. I read about all the other remedies on this site! One idea I haven't seen is: I use shampoo out of a bottle until I can pour 100ml H2O2 into it. I have to shake the bottle when I want to use it. I have stayed blond and have no grey hairs and it keeps my scalp healthy."
05/14/2007: Riki from DaLian, China replies: "I am sorry I was not clear. You can try two methods.First I take a bottle of shampoo (i work in ml...hahaha 500ml or 600ml and use some until I can fit about 100ml H2O2 in the bottle, about a 1/4 cup of H2O2). I pour it in and shake the bottle. You have to shake the bottle everytime you use it otherwise the H2O2 comes out first (it is floating on the top). Wash you hair as normal and rinse it. If you can keep it on the hair a few minutes do so. If you keep it on very long like 30 minutes every time your hair will start to become lighter so be careful if you don't want the colour to change.
The second method is more direct and I use it when I feel my scalp needs rejuvenation. (I live in China and I think the water here is not clean and sometime my scalp ich from irritation or dryness). I then just wet my hair and comb in some H2O2 and leave it on to dry. It smells a little but when you then wash and rinse your hair it becomes very soft and shiny.
I have been doing this since the '70s and my hair is really in good condition. I am also happy to report that I have no grey hair! a nice side effect. Regards"
05/19/2007: Riki from DaLian, China replies: "oh yes! 3%...I heard a hairdresser say that 30% is OK but I dillute it so that 100ml goes into 500/600ml. If my calculations are correct then it will work out about 0.3% in the shampoo. When I just brush it into my hair then I use 3% and I only keep it 5 minutes or so......I don't think I will keep it in for 30 minutes!"
04/05/2008: John from Kitchener, Ontario Canada replies: "I was wondering, the remedy for the h2o2 mix with the shampoo. Is this remedy good for just light hair, or is it good for dark hair also. thanks"
[WARNING!] 04/16/2009: Kim from Toronto, Canada replies: "Hi, Please remove the HYDROGEN PEROXIDE remedy from the gray hair remedy page. The same person put three YEA for using HYDROGEN PEROXIDE which will cause bleaching of hair. Thanks"
EC: Thanks for letting us know. The Yea ratings were corrected to 1 YEA (our fault, not Riki's). This may be a good remedy for blondes, so we'd like to leave it up with your warning.
04/17/2009: KR from Rancho Cucamonga, CA replies: "Hi Kim... I understand your concern about the original post but I am blonde and had great success spraying hydrogen peroxide both to give a natural blonde highlight to my hair AND to remove gray simutaneously. I found the original suggestion to add the H202 to the shampoo bottle very harsh for my hair and especially on my scalp but modified to the spray and have been doing this method with incredible results on and off for over a year now ;)"

[YEA] 08/27/2006: Martin from Alameda, CA writes: "I used Bill Munro's inhalation remedy a while back. First thing I noticed was my hair was turning back to brown, from being silver/brown. Also noticed after taking it for the first couple times, when I breathed in, it felt like for the first time I was using ALL of my lungs. This is a VERY WEIRD FEELING ! It's as if your whole life you're only using half your lungs. One thing I want to add. Walgreens may not use stabilizers in their 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. If you look on their label, its not listed on there. All the other brands list stabilizers. I'm hoping that means they don't add stabilizers. Maybe other people can comment on this. Anyway, I stopped using the remedy, but only because I got lazy. But now looking at the sliver creeping back into my hair, my ego and vanity will take over and put me back on the regime. Sigh.........Oh well at least I'll beat all my competition on the tennis courts. Via condias Amigos. ----------- Ps. Another amazing cure for everything from Fibromyalgia to cancer is Glyconutrients. Look it up on the net."

[YEA] Bertha from Phoenix writes: "I have had lots of gray hair since I was around 25. Last year, I bumped into "Melancor" and decided to give it a try. I had read Adelle Davis's books where this great woman explained how certain B vitamins and a good diet can restore natural hair color. When I read about Melancor and its formula I decided to buy it. I started taking it as prescribed and , in about a month, I could see about 30% or more of my hair recover its natural color. I stopped taking Melancor for about 8 months in order to see whether my hair color stayed the same and... IT HAS!. Now I am thinking of going back to Melancor in the hope that I will be able to get more hair restored to its original color."

[YEA] 01/18/2008: Rosemary from Toledo Ohio, USA writes: "In my opinion the best remedy for Grey Hair, and this will restore it to its younger time in some people.
Plenty of whole grain Breads and Cereals which contain lots of wheat germ and bran for Brown Haired people, and some blondes who decend from Brown Haired Parents.
Some Blondes decend from Black Haired and Red Haired Parents and they need plenty of Thiamine and Folic acid in their foods.
People who have brown hair and decend from parents who have brown hair need lots of Niacin one of the B-Complex Vitamins.
I also make sure I'take a good multiple vitamin every day plus I get enough Vitamin C and Calcium and I also make sure I take a good B-Complex and at an advanced age I have found I can turn my hair back to Gray or color it naturally simply through diet, more rest and less stress.
This all comes to me from a Guide in the Spirit World much like Psychic Edgar Cayce got his information from."

03/02/2009: Mark from Silver Spring, MD USA writes: "Read this on Yahoo. Scientists have appeared to have uncovered the reason hair turns gray; it's a low level of the enzyme, catalase. Researched that and came upon a web site, albeit hawking a product, discussed studies about apples. Three different studies, one in Russia, one in China and one in Spain, showed that, in laboratory animals, giving them an extract of sour apples increased their lifespan and for human application, eating sour apples(Granny Smith, for example)reversed gray hair. How many apples per day it didn't say and as I stated, this was from a web site that had an apple supplement to sell. I've started eating 3-4 apples a day. Let's see."

Bull, I want my brown hair back. My main reason for this post is in response to someone saying that we are all wasting our time and that gray hair is hereditary. Well, Scientists have discovered the reason for going GRAY... "It is simply building up too much hydrogen peroxide." http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/29468796/?GT1=43001.
Now, I haven't tried BSM yet but I will. Maybe BSM works because it is diluting the hydrogen peroxide in our body and hair. I don't know but, it is nice to know that there is scientific proof that gray hair could possibly be stopped or reversed with a sure product in the near future
