[YEA]  08/14/2008: Brian from Albany, New York writes: "I was starting to suffer from a gout attack, and have been really thinking of the side effects of my medicine. So I decided to search the web for a natural cure. I got to this site on the first try, and started reading. I thought, WOW, Apple cider vinegar, that would be easy. So I took the 3 tablespoons and by 2 hours later the pain was going away. By morning, I was completely pain free. I am so excited, and relieved, because the medicine I was on wasn't working great or fast. ACV taste really strong and bad, but it is a ton safer and better for you than medicines are. Also, my medicine is expensive, ACV cost about $1.39 for a gallon jug. Try it, it works!"

[YEA]  07/29/2008: Rich from London, UK writes: "Add me to the yeas. I've been suffering from gout for about a month - after the usual blood test - 10 days ago I was prescribed Allopurinol 100mg. But it didn't stop the serious pain or resolve the serious swelling in my left foot. By Sunday night 11pm I was unable to stand up as the pain throught my foot was so severe. This included the tendon and the big toe. That's when I searched the web and found this site. Usually a total sceptic, I tried the ACV suggestion - 4 tablespoons in a glass of water. Then I went to bed. By the time I woke up around 7am both the swelling and the pain had gone. Amazing. Today, Tuesday, 36 hours later, I was running down the road to catch a bus. I've now bought some Organic ACV and take a glass in the morning and another in the late afternoon which seems to be doing the job. Total cost of ACV solution, which has also reduced my stress level back to Zero. $1.35 or $2.70 for around 10 days supply. So if you know someone in gout pain get them to try ACV."

10/20/2009: Dricci93 from Fairfield, Maine replies: "I was just diagnosed with "gout"...read this by searching Gout Remedies...and found this site. Please tell me the truth. Does the ACV really keep Gout at bay..keep the swelling down? I have been doing ACV for two days, 1/4 cup to 1/4 cup of honey and I drink it all down twice a day, morning and night. Also, taking prescribed medication for my pain and swelling in my right foot. So far, been two days and no relief. I do not have the pain I had, but I still have swelling in my foot. Tingling and burning, but not the pain I had when I went to the ER for this. I also had this for over three weeks before I went to the doctor do you think this is the problem? I waited too long for help? I read your success story and now I want to know is it really successful, regular ACV compared to Organic ACV? Thanks so much for the help."

10/20/2009: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, usa replies: "I don't know if you've tried this or not but cherry juice will relieve gout. Years ago when my dad was first plagued by gout, I did research for him and found this remedy out. I would get cherry juice for him from the health food store. Over the years, he seems to have fewer bouts and he is now 76. He is very active but periodically, he'll have a bout. He now knows to immediately get cherry juice and that nips it in the bud. Do you have a Trader Joe's by you? They carry cherry juice I believe but am not absolutely certain. Anyway, his relief is usually within a day of drinking it. Hope this helps."

10/20/2009: Tricia from Ireland replies: "Cherries also helped a friend of mine. Just the ordinary glace cherries that you would use on a cake. He could'nt get the fresh ones as they were out of season. Also you are using way too much acv and honey. The remedies usually call for 2 tablespoons in 8 oz water 2 x day of either at the most. Because you should be trying to alkalise your gout you should probobly try 2 tbsp acv 1/4 teaspoon bread soda in 8 oz water."

10/20/2009: Dricci93 from Fairfield, Maine replies: "Thank you so much for the information on Cherry Juice, I am desperate enough to try anything. what I do not understand is: this site recommends Apple Cider Vinegar for the help of Gout, however, apple cider vinegar is full of acid...and gout is from too much acid. Maybe I should try to develop a taste for cherry juice, thanks again."

[YEA]  07/09/2008: Tom from Redondo Beach, California writes: "I had my first full gout attack a couple years ago (surprise, surprise doc said i took to much liquid cold medicine and the holiday celebration diet i did was all wrong for gout) since then whever my big toe tingles i take Goutcure herbal pills to prevent the gout from becoming crystalized and very painful and that works for stopping it going to the pain level, but i still have a little pain and hobble around a few days so i tried the ACV just an hour ago by drink a few tablespoons and putting some on a large nakkin on my toe and boy do i fell better and have already started to walk around much better. it was a quick change for the better."

[YEA]  07/09/2008: Gregg from Spokane, WA writes: "I ran across this site yesterday after suffering a bout of gout in my knee for the last 4 days which totally ruined my 4th of July weekend. I have had gout on and off since I lost a kidney and since I am running on one kidney I have to be very careful about taking Motrin and such so I basically just suffer through the gout flare ups (but not anymore!). I must say I am very surprised at how well the apple cider vinigar worked. It's been less than 24 hours and I am already walking much better. Fortunately I enjoy the flavor of vingar so mixing it with some water and a little sugar or honey made it taste okay. I used about 4 Tbsp of ACV with 6 ounces of water and a Tbsp of sugar and ice. Tastes like a very tart apple juice. Next I am going to try the Oil Pulling to help cure some other ailments I have. I don't know about you but I am tired of taking pills everday."

[YEA]  07/01/2008: Rick from Charlotte, NC writes: "I am sitting here at 3:36 am reading this website. My right foot big toe feels like its been rapped with a Nine Iron. Only about an hour ago, I took two tablespoons of ACV and I actually am starting to feel relief. I have fought Gout for four years with prescribed meds and I never tried apple cider vinegar. I'm hoping this will work. I will advise later. Many Thanks RICK"

10/20/2009: Dricci93 from Fairfield, Maine replies: "Rick how has the ACV been working for you??? I just got diagnosed with Gout and have been trying ACV for two days without good results. I am also taking a medication prescribed by my doctor for pain and swelling. Medication has been going on three days now and have had the bout with gout for 3 weeks. I am anxious to hear if your daily input with ACV is working for you. I took 1/4 cup both of vinegar and honey twice a day, maybe that was a little toooo much to take, maybe I only should take a teaspoon now and then. Thanks again for any input you have on this."

[WORKED TEMPORARILY]  06/08/2008: Ketan from Singapore, Singapore writes: "I have been suffering from Gout for last 6 months. I recently came across your site and started taking ACV with "Mother" in a glass of water. Initially it did show some improvement, but then swelling comes again. I have not been cured completely by the remedies suggested here. Then I have also started wrapping paper towel soaked in ACV. Waiting for getting some good results. Will keep you posted on this."

06/09/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Ketan with gout from Singapore I don't know if you are familiar with poke sallet or "pokeweed" in your area on this planet, but poke berries are one of the best remedies for gout and arthritis. Still works for me. If you aren't aware of what this is and you think it might grow there, I will send you some poke berries to plant this fall when they ripen. If it will grow there, you can grow your own medicine."

07/24/2008: Sandra from Round Lake, IL replies: "To Joyce from Joelton,Tn. Gout: What is the method used with Pokeweed for Gout? Do you make a paste and wrap the foot, or do you ingest them? Please advise? What are the exact measurements for this herb?"

03/16/2009: Lewis from Thomaston, GA replies: "Just reading about the poke salad cure for gout it grows all over the place around here. Was wondering about how to take and how to make this remedy and if it is good for any other ailments."

[YEA]  04/15/2008: Bob from Minneapolis, MN, USA writes: "I have had a bad bout of gout in the toes of my left foot that would not go away and ibuprofin would not touch the pain. I was ready to go to the doctor for a prescription but instead I got on the computer and found your website. I first drank apple cider vinegar and that helped somewhat. I then tried soaking a paper towel in acv and wrapped it between my toes. What a miracle! I can walk today without limping. Thanks so much!"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  04/07/2008: Eric from San Clemente, CA writes: "It's tough to pinpoint what works and what doesn't with gout. Remedies may work enough to release extra stored uric acid in your body, actually increasing pain or swelling for a time. When I don't catch an attack in time, no combination of medications and cures is enough could stop an attack.

Through this site I did try Apple Cider Vinegar for the first time, and while I can't say that it is a cure (based on the paragraph above), I did feel actual tingling in my sore ankle the first two times I took 2 teaspoons--something I've never felt before. I'm going to try ACV gel capsules, along with my usual Allopurinol, C, and Milk Thistle (helps heal the kidneys) as my daily vita regimen.

Last, stay away from aspirin! Bad. I'm certain that my overuse of Excedrin (love that caffeine) helped lead to gout."

[YEA]  04/01/2008: Gil from Richmond, Va writes: "I'm a believer! ACV has eliminated my arthritis/ gout pain! I searched the internet high and low for a remedy and luckily came across this site at 3AM while I was awake with a particularly painful bout. I figured, what the heck? The next morning I went to the grocery store and picked up some_____ ACV. I noticed a difference the next few days, but now after a few weeks I feel like I did when I was 20 (I'm 37 now). I had horrific bouts with arthritis and gout periodically which became fairly constant and began to rob me of my LIFE- I could no longer do the things that I used to such as work in the yard, and I avoided any activity which could possibly involve steps. It had even begun to affect my personal relationships as I was reluctant to make many plans bc I knew a flare up could happen at any time. I had even considered that I would soon have to move to a warmer climate and into a home with no stairs! I had medications but as I'm sure you know they only masked the symptoms. But, as I said, I feel great! No pains whatsoever since taking my daily regimen of ACV- three times a day the first week and then daily afterwards. The first time I noticed the difference was nothing short of amazing- for the first time in 7 years I walked down the steps with a full laundry basket instead of creeping down them one step at a time (sufferers know what I'm talking about!). PLEASE try this remedy- what have you got to lose but $3.50 for a bottle of ACV? Good luck, and best wishes for a pain free life!"

[YEA]  03/21/2008: Philip from Thunder Bay, Canada writes: "ACV worked wonders for me, I've had a bad case of gout for three weeks with no relief in sight. I was diagnosed with gout and prescribed anti-inflammatorties. The pain in my right big toe was becoming unbearable. I poured a couple of ounces of acv mixed with water and drank it down, the taste was quite good compared to the pain in my toe. The next morning I was feeling much better and the swelling was going down. Three days later and regular drinks of acv and water I have to say the results are amazing. I will dispose of my pills properly and make acv a regular remedy."

[YEA]  02/28/2008: Sandi from Altadena, CA writes: "This is Sandi from Altadena again. I wanted to let you know that I still have not had an attack of gout since January of 2007! I am so sold on apple cider vinegar and now take a tablespoon in a glass of water at least once a week. I don't mind the taste but you can put a little honey in it if you want to cut the taste. I talked to my doctor just yesterday and told her about the ACV for gout and she said she would let her patients know. I have made a point of telling everyone I know about the results of ACV for gout. Drugs may work for a while but they only treat the symptoms, ACV treats the problem and cures it."

[YEA]  02/08/2008: Michael from Hammond, Indiana writes: "I have struggled with chronic gout for several years. About 3 years ago, while doing reseach on gout I foundention of Hippocaretes using ACV as a treatment. I began immediately drinking a couple of tbale spoons with water and have had no full blown attcks since. A few times, when it seemed like a flare up might occur, in addition to drinking it, I wrapped the toe or ankle in a warm cloth soaked in ACV and the symptoms were gone the same day. Unbelievable I know, I am the ultimate skeptic. But it is the truth. My family and friends also swear that my moods improved soon as I started taking it."

[YEA]  02/06/2008: Brenda from Ridgewood, New Jersey writes: "I am a young middle aged healthy women and had always thought gout was something an older, over weight man would get. I woke up the morning after super bowl sunday feeling like I had broken my big toe. No swelling, no bruising, just so much pain I could not walk on it. All the sites I looked at for foot pain suggested insert for my shoes, etc. I came across gout on your site and was amazed that my symptoms matched to what I was reading. I am usually a wine drinker and don't eat much red meat, but being at a football party drank beer and had lots of meat and rich foods. I was in so much pain I gathered up my 3 kids (not something one does on a whim) and headed for the store for apple cider vinegar. At first I had 3 tbls in 8 oz hot water with honey and felt the trobbing ease up almost instantly. A few hours later I had about a 1/4 cup in 8 oz glass cold with splenda. After this I was feeling 80% better within an hour. I had the same dose as the second before going to bed last night and this morning I am 100% better. I went from so much pain to nothing in 24 hrs!! You not only saved me from the pain, but I'm sure endless testing at the doctors to find out what it wasn't before they found out what it was. Anyone should give this a try. Its fast, cheap and really worked for me."

09/11/2008: Nick from Denver, CO replies: "you really should try to stay away from splenda. that stuff is poison."

[NAY]  11/14/2007: ronnie from huntington beach, ca writes: "I read all of the success stories about apple cider vinegar and decided to try it on my boyfriend. His last gout attack lasted for several weeks and wanted to prevent any further ones. I gave him 2 teaspoons with an 8 oz. cup of water twice a day for two days. I was shocked when he woke up the following morning and had pain in his foot and elbow. I was devastated that I was the cause of it."

[YEA]  10/07/2008: Roland from Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia replies: "to ronnie from huntington beach, ca:
you've been giving him less dosage only teaspoon when it should be tablespoon and maybe you should add a bit more ACV. At first my results were the same as yours, but when I added more it worked great, my father in-law had gout all over his body and i swore he was about to meet his maker the other day, but i took cloth and soaked it in a pan with 8oz of water and 6 tablespoon of ACV, now he worships me as the puffy fat body i seen earlier has gone away and to be cautious i gave him two glasses of it as well and again he is so relieved and the tears of pain are now tears of joy, don't give up on it yet, try it again. goodluck"

[YEA]  11/01/2007: Niladri from JERSEY CITY, NJ writes: "I have had 4 attacks of Gout till date and each has cost me around $50-100 avg (my insurance withstanding). This time, I stumbled upon this site and decided to get a bottle of ACV for $3.49. The attack had happened yesterday and I am able to run today!!! If there was one miracle cure, this is it! I did also apply some hot water batch but under similar circumstances earlier that had not proved to be enough! So ACV had something to do with it! I am glad it did!!"

[YEA]  10/31/2007: Ainsley from toronto, ON, Canada writes: "Thanks for allowing me this space to share with you my experience with all, who like me spend a lot of time surveying this site.It is commonly believed and accepted that the common cause for gout is the consumption of red meats. This might be to some extent true, but, I would like to suggest that it is quite the opposite in my case.(Excessive nondairy protein such as dry legunes, red beans, black beans, chick peas and the like, Becareful not to over indulge.Uric Acid is a surity). I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years. I would on occasions eat salmon and not on a regular basis. I am very careful as to what I consume yet I believe that I have experienced some of the most severe attacks of gout. While it might be true that red meat is the cause for many people, absolutely not the case with me. In 2001 and 2003 I sustained some serious injuries in motor vehicle accidents. As yet, it has not been medically proven but I hve no doubts in my mind that my gout is as a result of my injuries. My injuries are at the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine with many nerve and disc damage. Obviously, internal organs would misfire and malfunction as in my case. By the way, it was from about the same time period that I realise that I was face with the problem of high cholesterol for which I have been using prescription medication, Ezetrol to be exact. Before I can tell you of how Apple Cider Vinegar has influenced my level of cholesterol, I am slated to have a blood test done within a week after wich I shall report to you. I have great confidence in APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. It is cheap."

[YEA]  09/12/2007: Duncan from Mansfield, Nottingham, England writes: "I had a really bad attack of gout on the top side of my left foot. I tried a number of different painkillers to no effect. The pain was so bad I could not even bear the weight of bedclothes on it so I had to go to sleep with my foot out of bed! I read some information about ACV on the web and decided to give it a try. I took 2 dessertspoons full of ACV in a glass of water 3 time a day, I also soaked my foot for half an hour in a bowl of 2 litres of hot water into which I poured half a bottle of ACV. After the first day I noticed the swelling had diminished, by the third day the redness had subsided and five days later I could walk without any of the excruciating pain! I am now taking ACV regularly every day in the hope that it will help prevent my gout returning!"

10/21/2009: Dricci93 from Fairfield, Maine replies: "I have no pain at the moment with my attack of gout, but I do have swelling on my right foot, I cannot relieve the swelling, I have tried ice and more ice, and nothing is stopping the swelling. I have tried, ACV organic, ACV regular, cherry juice, elevating the foot and icing some more. Nothing is getting rid of the swelling. How long does it usually last? Did your swelling go down immediately with the wrap of ACV and warm water on the foot? Please help me as the foot is not happy at the moment, and I do not know how to make it happy. Thanks for any help you can give me."

[YEA]  08/12/2007: David from Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts writes: "Put me squarely in the Apple Cider Vinegar YEA category.

A lousy diet led to gout, and I had no idea just how painful it could be until my first attack a couple of weeks ago during which my foot swelled up and I could barely hobble my way around. During two nights the pain was so bad I could hardly believe it, and I wondered if somehow I had broken a bone. Aspirin and other pain relievers barely dented the pain.

I went to my doctor, and she diagnozed it as gout. She prescribed five days worth of steroids to reduce swelling from the attack, but the pills had only a mild benefit.

Finally, my friend who is very much into healthy, organic foods, went on the Internet and found these references to ACV as a treatment for gout. Desperate for anything that would ease the pain and allow me to walk without cringing, I got some from my local store and immediately downed about 3 tablespoons of the stuff without water. Burned my throat (I now dilute it with water!), but seriously, within MINUTES my foot started to feel better.

I know I sound like an absolute nutcase, but it was miraculous how quickly I could feel the pain subsiding.

Folks, I am not a big devotee of "alternative" remedies and have tended to trust standard medical treatments. But ACV is doing the trick. Some of the soreness remains, and some days are better than others, but I'm getting around fine and without the excruciating pain and discomfort as before.

At the very least, if you're suffering from gout, it's worth a few bucks to buy a bottle of ACV to see if it helps you. Now, having experienced what that pain is all about, I hope it works for you."

Since that time I have reduced my intake of AVC to a tablespoon in water a few times per week. My gout has not returned. I eat a normal diet with no constraints. Phil, I am not a manufacturer's representative. I'm just a customer who had success with the product. I hope you find a cure, I did."

[YEA]  08/01/2007: Joe Justin from Fort Lauderdale, FL writes: "Why don't the doctors tell you about ACV? This stuff is a miracle cure! I was having a gout attack I also took three doses of Asprin, prior tp going to bed. I woke up at 4:00am WIth my Big toe throbbing. I didn't know what to do. I have never had an attack like this one before. I went to the internet only to discover that taking aspirin increases the effect of the attack. My wife Finaaly awoke at 7:00am and went out to by ACV. By 12:00pm the throbbing had gone away. I took another dose at 12:00pm by 4:00pm the pain had subsided enough fro me to walk on it. In the past taking colchachine I would have been vomiting and other things due to side effect of the drug, and my foot still wouldhave been on fire! Thank you fro puttinh this stuff on the interenet.
