[YEA]  03/11/2007: Debbie from Middleburg, FL writes: "Thank you for your website. I tried just about everything to break my sons fever and then I came across your website. I googled in that my son had a temp of 103 and there you were. I would have never thought egg whites for a fever but it worked, within 15 minutes he went from 103 to 100.5. He is sitting up and eating now. It has been 1 hour and he is down to 98.5. Thank you:)"

[YEA]  03/06/2007: Lisa from Portland, Oregon writes: "I was at wits end trying to figure out what to do about my husband's persistent fever. He has been sick with the flu for the past six days. His fever has been anywhere from 101 to 103. We tried ibuprofen, Boiron's oscillococcinum, emergen-c, various electrolyte drinks, etc, etc.. Nothing worked. Tonight I got online to discover your thread on egg whites and fever reduction. I told my husband that I intended to try it and he was very sceptical.. However.. We have a six month old baby and I said, Hey.. if nothing else this will give us an idea of what to do if our baby gets a fever! Lo and behold.. After wrapping his feet in egg white soaked paper towels, saran wrap and socks, within one and a half hours, his fever went from 101.3 to 97.9!! I am absolutely convinced (and flabbergasted) that this works. Thanks so much for all of the postings. I am a believer and plan to share this advice with others.. God Bless my dear old Mama.. she had a plethora of old wives remedies and she would have loved this one!"

[YEA]  02/28/2007: Annita (ABell1000@aol.com) from Myrtle Beach, SC writes: "My mother has told this story many times in the last 30 years. When I was about 4 years old I got a severe burn on the inside of my forearm. Apparently, it was a 2nd degree burn as it was evident to her that 2 layers of skin had been burned. My mother immediately applied egg whites mixed with alum to the burn and covered it with gauze. (Alum is usually found on the spice aisle at the grocery store and is used as an ingredient in baking powder, as a crisping agent for pickles and to harden gelatin.) She says that the following day I was outside playing with other children and fell - forearm down on the ground. She was amazed that I immediately got up and began playing again with no indication of any pain from the burn. I'm not sure of the significance of the alum but I'm now 35 years old and, within my memory, there has never been any sign of a scar on my arm."

[YEA]  02/28/2007: Lillian from Florence, AL writes: "My Daughter had a Fever Ranging from 102.4-104.2 for 3 days straight we tried tylenol, motrin, advil, feverall, and went to the doctor's office 3 days straight with her even the hospitals emergency room. Nothing would break this cycle of fever. I got really scared and went on the internet to see if i could find some answers, while surfing and praying, i was lead to this site and so I tried it, o.k. why not I checked all options, such as would it harm her in any way, no it won't because it is not ingested. Well, it works after putting the paper towel soaked in egg whites on her feet. You could actually feel the fever being drawn down to the bottom from her body. I would recommend this on anyone especially a infant that can't take all the meds. Thank you so much for sharing this remedy, It Works!!! Thank God!!!"

[YEA]  02/28/2007: Kehau from Laie, Hawaii writes: "I've been trying to break my fever for three days. I've been hopped up on Ibuprofen and knew my body could not take anymore so i came on here to find a natural "non-medication" remedy. I was really skeptical about the egg white remedy but after reading everyone's comments i figured there was nothing to lose except for maybe some cold slimy feet. As soon as I put it on my feet I felt myself starting to sweat (something I haven't done in days) I'm so excited that this is working for me! thank you again and again"

I looked online and saw this remedy. I talked my son into letting me do it and after an hour, his temperature went down to 99.9. After 2 hours, it was at 98.1!!!! This truly does work!!!!!!!"

[NAY]  02/18/2007: Paul from West Allis, WI writes: "No Significant Improvement after 50 minutes. After treating my girlfriends illness for a few days with homemade chicken soup, she recovered, but now I have a 100.4 degree fever. I have been using cold compresses for 40 min. I stayed up all night and I figured it was time to find an online remedy. I cracked two eggs, yolk and white, into two separate plastic grocery bags and tied them around my feet; then putting on my socks at 8:23 AM I waited. Now it is 8:33 and my temperature is 100.4;no change. Moving my feet and toes should circulate the eggs and allow the cooler part of the egg to mix with the warmer parts and average out the temperature so the temperature of the egg actually touching my feet is lower. A greater differnece in temperature between the eggs and the feet will produce a faster temperature drop between the eggs and the feet. This should lower the fever more by drawing the heat away from the head reapidly. Now it is 8:43 AM and my temperature is 100.0. After 20 minutes my temperature dropped 0.4 degrees. My girlfriend is pushing at all sorts of typical remedies like placing a bag of frozen vegetables on my belly and taking a couple of aspirin. Now at 8:53 my temperature is 100.2. After 30 minutes my temperature is down 0.2 degrees. At 9:03 AM my temperature is 100.0 degrees. After forty minutes my temperature is down 0.4 degrees. At 9:13 my temperature is 100.2 degrees. There has been no significant change in my temperature."

[YEA]  02/17/2007: Bridget from A-Town, Texas writes: "My 5 year old has had a fever off and on for the past 2 days, tonight at about 11:00 it topped out at 103.4, I gave her motrin, a cool bath, made my poor baby basically freezer her hiney off like they do at the hospital, and nothing was working, after doing all of the above, the lowest it had gotten down to was 102.6, so I got online and came across this site, I had never heard of this rememdy before, everthying else I came across, I had already done, or it just sounded a little to "out there" to try. I read what this site had to say, read the feedback, and thought, "what the hey, the only thing I go to lose is my daughters fever". By 1:08 a.m. her tempature was 102.8, it had started to rise again, I had put the egg soaked paper towels on her feet, a bag over each and then her socks by 1:11 a.m.. By 1:30 I checked her tempature again and it had gone down to 99.8, talk about relief, it is now 1:48, and I just checked her tempature again, I am glad to say that it 98.8, in a matter of minutes her fever that I had been battleing for 2 days now, was gone, and she's sleeping nicely. Thank you so much..."

He doesn't take medicine so when he hit 103.5 I found this great remedy! He was dubious("it will smell!")but gave in- and his fever dropped in about 30 minutes! Great remedy, I've been telling everyone about it-Italians seem to be prone to fevers (even the slightest ones)-so I think it will be a popular remedy here soon!"

Anyway I had tried everything to break this fever; cold showers, Nyquil, Dayquil, Ib prophen. None seemed to work they just took the edge off. Anyway, last night was the last straw. I was literally sick and tired of this fever so I tried wrapping my feet in eggs and covering in 2 layers of socks. I couldnt bother to sepparate the whites, hehe. This morning 98.9 degrees. [YEA]  02/16/2007: C from PDL, USA writes: "FEVER: I tried the egg white trick for fever, it worked great, got home last night from work my husband was burning up with a fever, he had the central heat on so high I had to put short sleeves on, plus he had an electric floor heater blowing on him, and he had three blankets on him and he was still shaking from the fever being so high, his stomach was hurting also, I fixed him some warm water with lemon juice ACV & Baking Soda to sip on while I fixed the egg whites up. I then put the organic egg whites on a handkerchief, put on the bottom of his feet, covered with a plastic bag and then put socks on his feet, I set a timer for thirty minutes, to see if it really worked that fast. In 15 minutes he was sleeping like a baby and snoring, in 30 minutes I checked his fever and it was gone and he was still asleep, I woke him up in another hour and ask him how he felt, he said he didn't have anymore fever but his stomach was still hurting. Woke up this morning still no fever, the fever never came back."

[YEA]  02/11/2007: Izi from Voorhees, NJ writes: "My husband is here for his first winter from Nigeria. He is used to getting malaria related fevers so when this one hit at 3 a.m. last night he was confused and scared...so was I, even though I knew he was experiencing flu symptoms. I used cold compress and gave tylenol but it continued to climb. I wanted to stop it before it went too high. When I jumped on your sight, it was 101.7. I tried the egg white remedy by soaking paper towels in 3 egg whites and placing them on the bottom of his feet. I then covered them with plastic store bags and put his socks on...through as much protest as he could muster. After 15 minutes, I checked his temp again and it was 101.8. I quietly prayed and trusted that this remedy was God's wisdom and would work. I asked if he was still cold he said no and that his hands and feet were hot. His fever broke soon after and he began to sweat. After an hour it was down to 101.1 and this morning it was 99.5. Thanks, I will share this with all!!!"

EC: Fantastic news, thank you for sharing! We are excited that this remedy will cure a malaria fever. Yahoo!

He was disoriented and not his happy-go-looney self. I googled "how to break fever" and came to your site. Egg whites sounded like an old wives tale, but i had nothing to lose. So, i soaked two paper towels in four egg whites and wrapped his feet in plastic wrap. i then put my socks on him. i checked his temp 15 mins later and it dropped to 102.3. Weird remedy, but IT WORKS! THANK YOU!!!!!"

[YEA]  02/04/2007: Diane from Poplar Bluff, MS writes: "I am trying the egg white remedy to bring down high fever. My 9 year old son has had a low grade fever for 2 days witha cough. But tonight (Feb 4th) about 8 pm his fever was 103.1. So I went online to get info on how to break a high fever. I saw the remedy for egg whites. I thought it wont hurt to try it, because the lukewarm bath didnt help. So I soaked the cloths in egg whites put them on his soles and put socks on him. After about 30 mins I checked his fever & it has gone down to 101.6. I will try this before trying anything else first. Thanks for the info, very much appreciated."

[YEA]  01/13/2007: Nancy from Kenmore, WA writes: "Desperate as my fever went higher than in many years (102.6), I googled "how to break a fever", and read the egg whites remedy and testimonials. I used 3 egg whites for 2 size 8 feet, whipped them a bit to blend them, sat down over a big plastic bag on the floor, dipped washcloths in the egg whites, put one on each foot, put a small plastic bag on each foot, tied a long sock around my ankle, and went to bed. My temp dropped from the 102.6 to 99 by morning. I was able to walk with the baggies on my feet; the washcloths were squishy, but very effective. Thank you for the tip and for this site."

[NAY]  12/29/2006: Shari from Vermont writes: "I was desperate to try something natural, but our daughter is very sensitive and afraid so our usual remedies (garlic paste on feet, garlic oil rub on chest, frozen towel on neck treatment) weren't practical for her. It took me almost an hour to convince her to try it, we soaked white clothes in the egg whites, wrapped her feet and put on big socks over them. Then we waited an hour and absolutely nothing happened. I was afraid she would start getting more upset at that point and also that the fever would get higher than 104, so we stopped."

[NAY]  12/19/2006: Iris from Austin, TX writes: "I tried the egg whites remedy on my 5 year old who's had his roller coaster fever (varies from 100-103F) for 5 days now. I drenched the egg whites onto paper towels and wrapped them on his feet and then added socks for about 30 minutes. Other than the fact that it was cold and slimy, it did nothing to lower his fever. I am glad I found this website though, as I then tried the apple cider vinegar method (remedy #3), and that one worked!!! I also gave him 1 teaspoon of it mixed with 1 tsp of honey. In less than 5 minutes, all the gunk that had made him congested came oozing out! It was the strangest thing to witness (not to mention a bit gross) but he was very happy that he could breathe through his nose again! We did it one more time and he was able to cough up and expel a lot of the stuff that was in him. Hopefully this will be the turning point and will get rid of the flu faster!! Thanks for this website!"

[YEA]  12/18/2006: Jenna from Colbert, GA writes: "I used rags soaked in egg whites on feet to reduce fever.. My son has had a fever for 7 days. His fever has ranged from 100.5 to 104.2 He has been in the hospital 1 day to receive IV fluids for dehydration and received further testing...all of which were negative. He had only slightly elevated white blood cell count (16,000). I've been alternating acetominaphen with ibuprofen. I've also used lukewarm baths when the fever was over 103. Nothing however ever took the fever below 100.5 Today a friend found your website. She called me and asked me to try this. For some reason, I immediately said..I'll try it. My son cried and didn't want the squishy cold egg white rags on his feet, but my daughter and I worked to pull my husband's larger socks over them and I left them on 2 hrs. His fever went from 102 to 100.2 He then laid down for a nap and woke at 4pm...which is when his fever usually begins to spike. He had NO FEVER! He was even below at 96 degrees! While I realize the fever may come back, I am amazed enough to want to write and share with others...try this!"

Before the treatment his fever was 103.8 and within 15 minutes it dropped to 102.7 and 20 minuets after that it was 101.3. His fever went down enough to let him get some sleep. It worked great. I dont know how it did it but it worked. I will pass this on to anyone who is ever in the same position. Thank you."

I think maybe this remedy works depending on what is causing the fever to begin with, if there is an infection present which requires antibiotics I dont think this remedy is gonna work, but thanks anyways."

[YEA]  10/28/2006: Tim from Columbia, MD writes: "Egg Whites used to reduce the fever in my 11 month old baby girl. My wife and I were up with our daughter about all of last night with a high temperature. Through the evening and night we gave her a couple of doses of fever reducing medicine for infants with no results. At about 6:30am I whispered a prayer for wisdom and then it came to me to do an internet search of home remedies for fever. You see, I pray to a very practical God, and He answers. I found your website and the egg white remedy jumped out at me. Being raised in the south, I was not afraid to try this at all. Within minutes of placing the egg white soaked cloths on her feet, we could feel a noticable difference in her body temp. Thank you so much for making this info available."

Needless to say, the fever came on quick. I was worried because I don't have a thermometor and could not check his temperature. I called his dad, and he hasn't called me back. So, I did what any single mother with a fevered child would do. Look for home remedies. I was a little reluctant at first, but then thought, well, I need to try something. With in the first ten minutes of application, his fever was starting to go down. I am so thankful for this site. Thank you very much!"

Well, the tub did not drop his temp and he was still throwing up, so down to the kitchen I went. We got a big laugh out of the slimy, cold feeling of egg whites on bare feet, but we wrapped them up, covered them with his Dad's socks and waited. Within a few minutes his temp dropped to 103.4. 10 minutes late, down to 102.6. Within 30 minutes he was at 100.5. Just not sure how long I need to leave the eggs on him feet. Will definitely use this remedy again. Thank you!"

[YEA]  08/30/2006: Joni from Kula, Maui, Hawaii writes: "The flu, a bug was going around. Last week my 60 year old husband had awful body chills that often come before a high fever. His fever then started to rise and rise to 102-F where it stayed for hours. No amount of cool cloths, etc seemed to work. Desperate, I went online and Googled for some help and found your site. I raced into the kitchen, soaked two paper towels in chilled egg whites and wrapped them around his feet and added warm, dry socks (note: he truly hated this feeling and let me know in no uncertain terms!) As I hovered over him there was initally no relief. I was making both of us crazy, so I sat down quietly and took his temparture about 30 minutes later...the fever had broken and within the hour his temparture was back to 98.8-F. When I took off his sock and unwrapped the towels it was amazing to see the egg whites COOKED! I have passed along your site and this remedy to many friends. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much!)"

[YEA]  08/11/2006: Angela from Aliso Viejo, CA writes: "This is by far the weirdest thing I have ever heard of for curing a fever... but it works! I had a fever tonight that was rising rapidly. I was desperate, so I had my husband help me with this strange concoction. But after about 20 minutes, my fever was up to 101.9! The problem: he hadn't wrapped my feet up - he had simply put some paper towels on the bottom of my feet. So we decided to give it another try... the right way. We soaked two paper towels in egg whites, and wrapped each one around my feet. Literally, within ONE MINUTE, I started feeling really hot (I had been really cold up until that time). Could these be the sweats you get when your fever breaks? No, not so fast, I thought, and assumed my fever had gone up. But when I checked it, it was 101.8, and about 15 minutes later it was 101. Now, about 30 minutes later, it is 100.5. My husband thought I was crazy when I suggested this method - but he is now a believer! We are definitely going to be using egg whites to fight fevers in the future!"

[YEA]  06/25/2006: Rebecca from Houston, TX writes: "My 5 year old had a high fever for about 40 hours. It would only come down temporarily after a cool bath and then spike back up. On 6/25 at 3:00 am my child woke me up and again had a fever of 103. Out of desperation I got on the internet and saw the egg white remedy on your website. Although I was very doubtful of the effectiveness I went ahead and dipped a paper towel in egg white and wrapped my child's feet and covered them with socks. At 3:20 the fever was down to 101 and by 3.30 it was at 100! I just took it again at 9:30 in the morning and it is normal! After battling his stubborn fever I just can't believe that this worked, but it did. Thanks!"

FENUGREEK SEEDS

1 YEA

[YEA]  Emmanuella from Long Beach, CA writes: "When I was a child my mother used to give me Fenugreek tea. It doesn't taste very good, but she would give me a cup of this and two excederin and I would wake up a few hours later, with a broken fever. I had my appetite back and felt much better. This tea does come out through your pores, so it won't smell very nice. This tea worked for me, maybe it can work for someone else too."

GINGER ROOT

1 YEA

[YEA]  05/23/2006: Christina from Bel Air MD writes: "You take raw ginger put it in water and bring it to a boil. Use a big pot (the one you use for spagetti). After it boils for 15 to 20 min, take it off the heat. Run water in the tub, the water should be as warm as the person can take. Before the person gets in put the ginger root water in the tub. Mix it around. The whole body should be covered. Let them sit there for as long as they can take it. Once out. Put them in long pajamas, wrap them with a blanket, put them to bed, and put the other blankets on top. They'll start to sweat out the fever. Found this on www.herbalhealer.com website when my tots had high fevers."

When the babies get sick if you hold them in the position you would were you breastfeeding them it helps to bring down the fever...something to do with the energy flow. also you can lay them on a bed and place one hand under their head and one under their bottom and let them lay on your hands for a while. this works as well"

LIQUID CALCIUM

1 YEA

[YEA]  12/03/2006: Chris from Denver, CO writes: "My son had a relatively high fever and was lying on the couch, not doing very well at all. I had heard about calcium for fever, so I gave him some liquid calcium in apple juice and thought I'd let him sleep. 25 minutes later I went to check on him and he was outside, riding his roller up and down the sidewalk, no sign of fever! The chiropractor who first told us about calcium said that fever is actually an attempt by the body to heat up the bones and teeth so it can remove calcium and use it for the white blood cells. So taking calcium seems to make a fever unnecessary."

OREGANO OIL ON THE FEET FOR FEVER

1 YEA

[YEA]  03/05/2008: Michelle from West Palm Beach, Florida writes: "I couldn't find this one so here goes. Best for kids, as it helps whatever is causing the fever, especially virus. Two drops of Oreganol Oil, on each foot rub it in and fever will break in a matter of five (5) minutes. I have four kids and have used this on ALL of them. It has absolutely always worked.

You can rub a few drops on chest for congestion or sinus trouble too. I have used two drops behind ear (rub all around area) for curing ear infections, ear pain, etc.

You can't beat it for cuts, they will never get infected! Best for little finger cuts as they are hard to keep clean! Also cures toenail fungus, especially seriously infected ones, drop several drops around nail bed, under nail, and around affected toe, with in hours, the pain is gone! Three times a day and the toe infection will be gone in a few days. My friend 6'11" male, was about to go to the ER when I told him to try this, he could barely walk! It was easy to walk in a matter of hours and completely cured in a few days! Three times a day several drops. Epsom salt soaks help to draw out infection and help pain too.

Earth Clinic is my Favorite for everything!"

POTATO

3 YEA

[YEA]  04/12/2008: Beth from Chicago, IL writes: "I had a rapidly rising fever last night that hit 103.1 and was only getting worse. Nothing was really bringing it down and my friend googled and found this website - since I had no egg whites, I opted for potato slices that I kept on my feet with socks.

Sure, I felt a little ridiculous and was reasonably sure that my fever had driven me to desperation and/or madness, but within two hours I was down to 99 degrees. So, there you have it, potatoes for fevers."

I read some of the responses on how to reduce a fever and I remembered my grandma using POTATOES. I sliced potatoes long ways and placed them on the soles of my husbands feet then put socks on. Placed some on his chest (without a shirt) and covered with a towel. I placed a cool wash cloth with some rubbing alcohol on his forehead and within the firt 30 mins, his fever was going down. After an hour it was below 100.Potatoes work well for reducing a fever."

POTATO, GARLIC AND ACV

1 YEA

[YEA]  08/30/2007: Nicole from Phoenix, AZ writes: "My 4 year old son woke up with a HIGH fever, but otherwise was fine. I worried after pain relievers were not bringing it down. I went on the internet and typed in break fever and this site came up. I didn't have eggs so I couldn't use the egg white remedy, but I did have onions, ACV, and potatoes. I got socks and placed potatoes and chopped onion with a hint of garlic and placed them on his feet--he didn't like it. Then I got a washcloth soaked in ACV and placed it on his forehead. I checked his temperature every 15 minutes from 3am-6am. it went down from 102.7, droping .1 degrees to 1 degree at times. I am a believer in this and will now try this again. There is something to be said about folk remedies."

ROLLING AN EGG

1 YEA

[YEA]  01/16/2006: Nancy from Lake Zurich, IL writes: "One remedy for fevers is taking a egg (still intact, in its shell) and rubbing the whole egg all over the body. It will absorb the heat in the body and when you are done, the egg will be hard boiled. This was passed down from a family friend and it really works. Just be careful with the egg as you have to constantly roll it over the person."

SIDE EFFECTS

2 YEA

[YEA]  09/08/2007: Teri from Owensboro, KY writes: "Are you supposed to warm the egg whites before applying to soles of feet? My niece had a fever of 103.5. She has epilepsy and her doctor has told my sister that if her fever gets above 101 and she can't get it down, she needs to take her to the hospital because it could cause her to have seizures. I was searching and found this website saying that egg whites on soles of feet was the fastest way to bring a fever down and I told my sister about it. She said she was going to try it and about 5 minutes later, she said as soon as she put the cloth soaked in egg whites on her feet, she began to have a seizure. I have been reading that it is no longer suggested that you put a child in cold water to bring down a fever because it could shock their body & actually cause their fever to spike so I was just wondering if the people who say the egg white remedy works, warmed them before apply to feet."

[YEA]  03/31/2007: Nikolay from Ottawa, Canada writes: "I read on this site about applying egg whites to the feet in case of fever and tried it with my 7 month old daughter. Minutes after I did this she started to get a serious rash starting from her feet and legs and going ALL over her body including her face. I removed the egg whites and washed her feet. Her rash improved within half an hour and was almost gone within two or three hours. Egg whites are high risk for a food allergy, but apperantly they can also be dangerous if you apply them to skin! So, I would urge anyone who tries this to be very very careful -- after all you don't want to end up with BOTH fever and a severe allergic reaction."
