I suffered from Epididymitis for over four years. Different Doctors put me on different antibiotics three different times with no relief. By pure chance I found a exercise that helps with the pain. Oblique bends are done standing up straight with your feet shoulder width apart and suck your belly in. Hold a dumbbell in your left hand with your palms in. Keeping your back straight, bend to the left as far as you can, then return to the start position. After finishing your desired reps, change the weight to your other hand and repeat on the opposite side. Remember to bend only at your waist. It is best to exhale while going down and inhale on the way up. A can of soup can be used if you don't have a dumbbell. In less than a week after starting this exercise I felt better."

08/18/2010: Smp8 from Centerville, In, Usa replies: "Hi I am new to this website, but I was reading about this Epididymitis because my husband currently has it and is on his second round of antibiotics. He still has a lot of pain, he takes Ibuprofen and wears a jock strap to help with the pain... But if he takes it off or doesn't take the Ibuprofen he's in pain. Does anyone know what actually causes this? Can it be caused from a Vascetomy? Will it go away or is it once you get it, you will always have it? I read some of the few other posts and they seemed really hopeless to me. I mean if there are tons of natural healing methods/herbs/vitamins for Epilipesy (which I was also reading about because my son has Petit Mal seizures), then I really hope to find a cure for this as well. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to the whole natural way of living and I love it, so I'm still searching. Thank you."

But other than antibiotics mentioned, there's not much for "cures". Interesting is that using the browser's Menu 'Edit--Find' feature, and typing "vasectomy" in the Find box, the word is nowhere found on any of the pages! So, if the condition can be caused iatrogenically, they're not admitting to it.

Assuming that the body is already being alkalized, most of the time this is a bacterial connected disease, my 1st approach would be turmeric because it's easy, simple and cover a large number of causes. The best absorption for turmeric is hot liquid with fat and black pepper like in a soup. When it is not directly bacterial the turmeric might clear up indirect conditions. After 4 to 6 days without improvement check other path of healing. 01/01/2011: Bluefreeze from Quincy, Ma replies: "I was recently diagnosed with this condition earlier today and I'm just researching this medical problem. I was given doxycycline twice a day for 10 days and I've currently only taken 2. I use an icepack whenever necessary and I'm about to request Flomax from my physician. I've read online that Flomax has helped in some cases. I'm going to keep taking my medication as prescriped with icing. If symptoms persist I will return to the doctors and tell them it has gotten worse. Also be sure not to masterbate or have sex while you have this condition. Hope this post helps other men out there. I am 19 years old by the way. I can't wait until I can start playing sports again."

04/26/2011: Andy from Bristol, Uk replies: "Now that's really interesting. I have had epididymitis for about 4 or 5 weeks. Tried the doxycycline for 2 weeks... No joy. It has been preceded by 6 months of lower back pain. Instictively the 2 feel connected, but I'm not sure why? Can you expand on the chiropractor theory?"

09/12/2011: Epididymitis Sufferer from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "I've been suffering from Epididymitis, on and off, for about almost 2 years. During the first few episodes, the pain was intense in the testicles, perineum, pubic/pelvic area (lymph nodes), and lower back/flank. I also had some dysfunction issues.

There are a variety of causes of Epididymitis. For chronic or repeat sufferers, the key is to determine the cause. I initially thought my issues were caused by bacterial infections, as the only time I had any effects is when my wife and I had unprotected sex. There were/are no issues when we have protected sex, which also led me to believe the cause was bacterial. After repeated testing and culturing, no STIs or abnormal bacteria could be found in either one of us. Various doctors contribute my case to a varicocele. Although I do have a varicocele, I rarely experience any pain with it unless I'm having a flare-up of Epididymitis.

A course of Antibiotics is the primary cure (usually in the family of Fluoroquinolones in newer cases, or Tetracycline in repeated cases). Something to consider: bacteria build resistance to antibiotics when they are repeatedly used. For example, if someone has taken courses of Ciproflaxin on several different occasions, it may not be effective when trying to treat a current case of Epididymitis. Have the doctor prescribe an Antibiotic that is stronger than any previously taken Antibiotic, refrain from having unprotected sex (before, during, and even after treatment), and try to identify the cause, or at least a trend, of your condition."
