I drank this two night in a row on my fourth week with a sinus infection. I had already been on antibiotics, larger dose of allergy pills and prescription nasal spray. I could not breath at all and I even had a lump in my gum from the sinus cavities being blocked. I drank it the two nights and everything started to clear up! Unbelievable. I did use Clamato juice as opposed to plain tomato. I swear you should try it!

I am soooo miserable! The Sudafed has stopped working, can't breath, sneezing, blah. I searched on Google for any thing to help and I came across this recipe. I am drinking it as I am typing and have already felt a difference. I love all of the ingredients and when combined, they are really good. I can't wait to have some more tonight so I can finally sleep. Thanks to whomever came up with this!

I came down with a hellish sinus infection over Christmas week. Desperate not to go to a doctor and be administered the same-old antibiotics regimen, I Googled and found your site. Thank you so much!!! Even though I had a tenacious case of sinusitis, after drinking the tea for just over a week, 2-3 times a day, I am finally cured. As the infection ran its course, I was getting really, bad piercing headaches. The tea even gave relief from them. I highly recommend this tea. It is a wonder.

I did not heat it to hot, only to warm cause the hot pepper was hot! I used Hot pepper flakes, I dry my own. One time we were going out with friends and did not put in the garlic, it also cleared my congestion. The pepper flakes are wonderful in thinning out the mucous! Plus it is a very yummy drink. You can make it hotter if you want by adding more pepper, but the recipe is hot enough, my mouth is burning! lol, But I can breath, yippee!

My sinuses were completely blocked. Sudafed was working less with each usage. The last time I had a Sudafed, my nose was partially cleared for only two hours. The previous night, I had a bad sore throat due to the cold and breathing only through my mouth. I searched the Internet and came across a remedy of gargling with salt water. It worked within 15 minutes. Although my throat was better, I did not sleep well due to my clogged sinuses. By 11:30 last night, my head felt completely stuffed and I knew sleeping was going to be tough, so I thought I would see what remedies were posted on the Internet. I came across this site and the Spicy Tomato Tea. I am not a fan of Tomato juice or pure garlic, but I saw so many positive responses that I decided it was worth the chance. Of course, all of the super markets were closed since it was after 11 PM. so I went to the local Wawa and picked the needed ingredients. Except I had to substitute garlic powder for garlic, since they didn't have garlic. I heated up the ingredients and by 12:20 (less than an hour from finding this article) my nasal passages were clear. To my surprise, the taste was not too bad. I accidentally used a 1/2 teaspoon of hot sauce instead of the 1/4 teaspoon. I think it made it work better. I did wake up to blow my nose once during the night, but other than that, I slept well and my sinuses remained clear. This is definitely a remedy worth passing on to others.

I was willing to do anything do get some relief from this terrible case of congestion. It had been going on for days. (Hint* Probably should go to the doctor) So I found this site. My friend Chris made the Spicy Tomato Tea, and just the smell of it started to work. It didn't totally clear my case of congestion up, but It definitely helped a lot... I think the magic is in the garlic!... wow..

I have been sick for the last 3 days getting between 2-3 hours of sleep per night because I was so congested. I can't use nasal sprays or a lot of decongestants because I am a vocalist, and those products are very bad for the voice. Last night I went online to try and find anything to ease the congestion. I found this recipe and cringed because I hate tomato juice, but I figured I would try it anyway. I have been sipping on it for about 10 minutes now and already my sinuses are starting to clear. My nose is running like a faucet which rocks because for the last 2 days I haven't even been able to blow it, and my left nostril feels almost completely clear. Thanks so much for this recipe! Now I think I'll finally get to bed!

I have had congestion before and tried to rely on the over the counter remedies in the past. I have been congested for two days and all I wanted to do was sleep. That didn't get very much accomplished throughout the day. I got on line to look up home remedies and found the one for the Spicy Tomato Tea. It worked amazingly well and rather quickly. Thank you for this remedy and will continue to use it in the future as needed. Thank you for sharing.

I must really thank the original poster for this fantastic home remedy! It's true this is a far superior option than a doctor visit and an antibiotic for a sinus infection, which is both unnecessary and costly. Tomato tea only cost me around $6 and has cleared me up more in the past 24 hours than I've been in the past week or longer! It's true most people probably think this concoction tastes terrible, but I think it's very tasty and was especially good during my windy, cold morning. I recommend using V8 instead of tomato juice for some people because if you don't end up liking the taste of the "tea" you can always drink the leftover V8. Also, it has more nutritive value than straight tomato juice, I would imagine. For the record, I had been using apple cider vinegar and honey diluted in water. I originally had a small viral cold and I think the ACV-honey mix stopped my sinus infection from being horrendous. This was getting the job done and clearing up my sinuses, but it was doing so rather slowly. I think it would have worked given a longer time, though. But Tomato Tea cleared everything up right away and tastes good to boot. I'll be telling this to everyone I know. Thank you so much!

All the sudden after a minor cold I got a sinus infection and was very congested. It seemed one nasal passage would stay open, and the other clogged. As soon as the clogged passage cleared, then the other side got all congested. I was feeling miserable and decided to do an internet search for ANY home remedies that might give me relief. Stumbled across this tomato tea and read all the great reviews. I was shocked to find a snack pack size V-8 in my fridge. I had all the other ingredients. I have to say that after 30 minutes of drinking this (and it didn't taste half bad since I added 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning for flavor!), I can actually breath out of BOTH my nostrils. They are both clear and free. Still feels a little dry (probably because I just turned the heat on the other day), but I'm shocked that such a simple concoction could bring such relief! Thanks for posting this recipe!

I just made my own version of this because I didn't have tomato juice or hot sauce in the house and felt to terrible to go out and get the ingredients. So I made up Campbell's tomato soup and used horseradish and all of the other ingredients. I can breathe! Just beware, your nose may start running like a waterfall!

This tea worked terrifically! At first I thought I had no reaction (also tea didn't taste at all bad, so I thought it wasn't doing much), then about 15 minutes after finishing tomato tea, I realized I was breathing clearly again, and without sinus pressure or post nasal drip. It's been 4 hours now that I've had relief from the single cup of tomato tea.

I came down with a nasty cold a few days ago and tried everything on the shelf to relieve the symptoms. Nothing worked and last night I went on the internet and this Tomato Tea recipe came up in Goggle. I went to cub about 11:00 last night and bought the ingredients, made it up and by midnight I could breathe again. Slept all night and my nose and head feel far better this morning. The garlic smell kind of lingers in the house... but it's the best cold medicine I have had.

I was very skeptical of this remedy, but no OTC medicines were doing anything for me, either. I made the tea, and added a little extra hot sauce as some others suggested. It tasted okay, not too bad. I used fresh garlic cloves, and each time I'd take a sip, the garlic smell would open my sinuses. I felt some immediate relief after drinking the tea, but later it felt like my congestion came back just as bad. Exhausted from battling this for 2 days, I went on to bed. I slept better than I had the night before, and my nose did not run all night long. When I got up this morning, one nostril was completely open. I don't feel run-down like I had been yesterday; I am not sneezing anywhere nearly as much; my nose is not as congested as it was and it is not running like a faucet. I am getting better results from blowing my nose, too. The only medicine I took today (the same as everyday) is an OTC Claritin for allergies. I will definitely keep this brew around!
