Alkalizing Sea Salt Remedies
Posted by Lori (Delta, Co) on 07/05/2010

I just tested my 1/4 tsp of sea salt in 32 oz of water and it is not alkalizing at all, it's around a 5 on my ph paper. my water from my fridge filter must be acidic. I thought adding the sea salt would alkalize it but it's an acidic formula. I then tested my whole lemon w/1/4 tsp of baking soda and it was very alkaline around 7.5 so i drank that down. I drink water w/sea salt daily and since I broke my arm 3 months ago it makes me swell. what can I add to the water mixture of sea salt and ? to make it alkaline? I also use the borax solution about every other day in my sea salt water. Can I take my lemon mixture and then have my peroxide mix of 3-4 drops in my 32 oz of water that I take to work to drink then I simply drink another 32 oz of plain water?

Sea Salt for Pneumonia

I have (usually) mild asthma. I visited a dusty wildflower area and contracted fungal pneumonia. The doctor did not apply effective antibiotics, because the infection was fungal, and he initially misdiagnosed it. The infection continued for weeks, and hardened into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Over the next year I tried many remedies. Then I found an interesting fact. The ocean has millions of antibacterial virions per liter. This is why there are so few bacteria there: predation. I live in an oceanside city, and have no problem getting clean, fresh seawater. I spat some infected sputum into a bottle of seawater and diluted it to invisibility. The idea was that any virus would rapidly multiply by killing and eating the bacteria of my infection. Then over a week, I sprayed the water and inhaled it. My coughing got worse, but then air began to penetrate past the blockages and I began to cough them up; some looked like french fries. I'm now healthy.

I think a similar effort might work with artificial seawater made from organic sea salt. The idea is that it must be organic so that the antibacterial virions would need to be preserved in the salt.

Sea Salt for Intestinal Cleansing

Hi, I have recently tried a sea salt flush. the first time I took it was in the evening, after I had eaten a light supper. I had a bowel movement, but nothing serious. Then I repeated it in the morning on an empty stomach with te same results. Both times I used 1 tablespoon of sea salt and a litre of water.

The next morning upon rising, I mixed two tablespoons of sea salt in warm water and added the juice of half a lemon. App. 60 - 90 minutes later it was working like a charm.

I read that if it doesn't work, you may need to use more sea salt. Make sure you drink plently of plain water as well, to keep yourself hydrated. I was extremely thirsty after drinking 2 tablespoons in the warm water.

For the sea salt cure, I would suggest taking a non-refined sea salt. I like gray Celtic sea salt, and pink Himalayan salts. They have other minerals and are not just sodium chloride. Watch out for refined salts as they do raise sodium levels, but natural raw salts help balance sodium in the body.

Constipation
Posted by Connie (Slc, Ut) on 07/27/2010

Good Afternoon, Lctao4, from Gainsville, Fla. , Your strong negative physical reaction to the sea salt water may indicate that your potassium is low. Sodium and potassium have a "push and pull" relationship in the body's cells. If there is too much of one, movements of fluids and solids can become disrupted from the way of the cellular passage, as to the way of the intestinal passage. Potassium is a very active ingredient in foods recommended for constipation such as : blackstrap molasses, seaweed, honeydew melon, prunes, beet greens, etc. If you need a supplement, potassium bicarbonate or potassium gluconate can be very effective in the right amount for you. Magnesium can also be effective, in the right amount. Magnesium citrate is a good compound. Of course, the consumption of just enough fluids, fiber, probiotics, etc. Are recomended to us and they are helpful. I accidentally constipated myself recently by taking too many acids in my supplements. Ted from Bankok is correct, from my vantage, when he writes that an acidic condition can cause constipation. The causes are many, as are the treatments. ( Potassium Bicarbonate on an empty stomach also aids intestinal malaise and gas. ) Thank You EC, and may we all have gentle passages, Connie

In the morning, I mix 1Tbl ACV with a pint of water, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. I put it in a bottle and drink it throughout the day. I repeat the prosedure in the afternooon, so I drink 2 pints a day. It cures everything (my acne, sore throat, stomach ache, dry skin, sore joints...etc) I've been doing this for 3 months, and have dropped 7.5 kilograms! I <3 water! Be sure to mix it with salt and vinegar, so you don't lose vital nutrients, and sodium!

Acid Reflux

I suffered everyday with acid creeping up and severely hindering my ability to enjoy things in life. I noticed two huge agitators: 1. Over-eating (easy to do for anyone in U.S.) 2. Chocolate (tends to be a great laxative, but also tends to promote the acid problem. Continually the damage done by Acid Reflux caused burning and I found that taking in a good amount of sea salt (with water, foods) cleared it up.

High Blood Pressure, Anxiety

I am suffering from many things at once. such as lower tract infections and thrush and shingles all at once/ Part of which is due to the many antibiotics I was prescribed for the bladder and lower GI track.

One of the effects of shingles is it produces much anxiety because your muscles start to spasm and the spasms and pain mimic some very serious conditions. This is the third bout with shingles.

The panic attacks were so serious the paramedics had to come out twice and one time to the hospital in the ambulance because my blood pressure soared up to dangerous levels. Well to get to the point...

Out of desperation today because now I developed a sore in throat that feel like something is stuck in there and it is swollen red and yucky.. It was too sore to gargle. I had to pace the house for an hour to prevent a panic attack because I felt like my throat was closing up (this is side effect of thrush), When I calmed down an intuitive sense told me to just sip on water and salt

. I only had sea salt at home put a very small amount about 1/16 tsp to 8 oz size purified water and sipped it over an hour. Then I got worried (no anxiety attack) I hurt myself because my mouth felt like it was drying up (my mouth might be responding to the thrush). Went got another glass of water and drink that plain. Gradually the puckered dry feeling went away.

But the amazing thing is that the salt must have been absorbed through my mouth because I could taste salt water coming from my nose trickling down my throat. It felt very good and soothing. I went to the computer to research what damage sea salt can do to you and I got a confirmation rather than an antidote for toxins. I am waiting to see what improves next. Next time I am going to reach for the S A L T rather than 911 or visits to the doctors. Thanks Joan

Have you tried Diatomaceous Earth for fleas? It's natural and can be dusted on your dog & also a teaspoon added to food. It gets rid of fleas, ticks and mites. It can be purchased at most feed store and at Tractor Supply.

Colon Cleansing Remedies

Don't use Himalayan salt (the pink stuff) for a saltwater flush. It has too high a calcium content, which can cause calcium stones if you retain the salt instead of passing it.

Stick with un-iodized sea salt.

Salt Therapy/ Halotherapy

I wanted to bring awareness to a new, natural way to help respiratory ailments.

Salt Therapy/ Halotherapy helps clients with respiratory and skin ailments like asthma, allergies, COPD, smokers cough, sinusitis, cystic fibrosis, bronchitis, psoriasis, eczema, and much more. The salt's natural and soothing properties are also beneficial for anyone searching for immune system boosting, relaxing, cleansing, and de-stressing environment.

Salt Therapy/ Halotherapy is 100% natural, safe and drug free. It provides effective relief from respiratory ailments and skin conditions without any side effect. Salt acts like an expectorant, accelerating mucus clearance and improving lung function while killing harmful bacteria and soothing the respiratory system.

A tremendous amount of scientific research has been conducted which proves how salt therapy can help relieve symptoms of respiratory illnesses and skin condition. In fact, a recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that long-term treatment in a salt room had a positive impact on lung function and reduced pulmonary exacerbations.

Salt Therapy/ Halotherapy brings you the microclimate found in salt caves and mines in a controlled "cave like" environment. The salt rooms are covered from floor to ceiling with multiple layers of sea salt. During each session Pharmaceutical Salts are crushed in the halogenerator and dispersed into the Salt Rooms. Salt releases high concentrations of negative ions, which increase the flow of oxygen to the brain; resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, gives more energy and creates an environment virtually free of bacteria.

During a 45 min session adults and children can relax, enjoy music, watch TV, play or read in the salt covered rooms while breathing in microscopic salt particles. There are numerous Salt Rooms, Halotherapy Rooms available within the United States. (Orlando , Florida; Planto, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Los Angeles & Campbell, California)

I heard many wonderful recoveries from people who used Salt Therapy, it might be a good option for others to try.

I occasionally take sea salt as a "broth-like" drink. I mix 1/2 tsp light grey celtic sea salt (use unrefined salt) with spring water. Heat water (don't boil) on stove and add salt and about 1/2 cup of spring water then drink - you can use coffee cup size cup. Nice before bedtime.

Ringworm

Good results, here, too, in FL with sea salt for ringworm. Lawn work will usually get "ringworm" on your feet or legs.

Pick an area where it's salt water, not brackish, on the flats in the Intercoastal waterway or a bay that doesn't get much run-off. Protect your feet (from oysters / shells), explore the coast and/or find a deeper spot to swim or soak in (away from boat traffic). Probably the more stuff that gets stirred up the better. It may be ewwy gooey, but it works.

I've had the sea fix it in 3 hours, consistently. The other alternatives are the over-the-counter remedies that take 6 weeks (and often fail), or the doctor prescribed systemics (2 weeks), had that fail too.

Stay OUT of low salt brackish areas, especially in the rainy season. Run-off gets in there, and it's not the sea you're swimming with, anymore.

Take care, and good luck.

Actually Himalayan Crystal Salt has 94 minerals and one of them is iodine as documented by Dr.med.Barbara Hendel and Peter Ferreira in their book "Water & Salt The Essence Of Life". I've been using Himalyan salt for over three years and have experienced numerous health benefits. From what I've read (correct me if I'm wrong) celtic sea salt has 82 minerals. With all the pollution in the waters of the world I'm sure it has an effect on the quality of the sea salt.

Himalayan Salt
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 03/05/2010

Hi Raynbogri...Iodine is not generally found in either Himalayan Salt or natural Sea Salt.

Here are the 84 constituents of Himalayan Salt:

hydrogen, lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluoride, sodium, magnesium, aluminum, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chloride, calcium, scandium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, gallium, germanium, arsenic, selenium, bromine, rubidium, strontium, yttrium, zirconium, niobium, molybdenum, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver, cadmium, indium, tin, antimony, tellurium, iodine, cesium, barium, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium, hafnium, tantalum, tungsten, rhenium, osmium, iridium, platinum, gold, mercury, thallium, lead, bismuth, polonium, astatine, francium, radium, actinium, thorium, protactinium, uranium, neptunium, and plutonium.

I live in the Philippines and use their naturally-made sea salt -- sold in the local markets, which tends to clear up mucous problems well and is a mild antibiotic in itself.

I also take Ted's alakaline remedies, and his Lemon/Lime and baking soda remedy is what cured my candida. I still take it regularly.

Regarding your restless leg syndrome, magnesium supplementation or taking magnesium transdermally would certainly help cure this problem. I used to get sudden leg cramps for no reason while sleeping at night(another sign of magnesium deficiency) and started to take magnesium gluconate, but it wasn't until I started to spray my body with a concentrated solution of Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulphate) after my shower, using just a simple garden flower srayer, that my cramps rapidly disappeared. I also found that it helped me to sleep much better than before. You can also just take a hot bath and add 3-4 cups of Epsom salts(or Magnesium Chloride crystals) to the bathwater, and just soak in it for 1/2 hour. This is the fastest way to raise your Magnesium levels.

Magnesium is also involved in over 300 enzyme processes in your body and is very beneficial to the bones and heart. Another side-effect of my taking magnesium transdermlly was that my own episodes of sudden racing heart also just disappeared.

I also use iodine foot painting, this seems the easiest way to take iodine -- just paint the soles of your feet and heels everyday with either iodine tincture, lugol's or Betadine and the iodine will be absorbed into your body transdermally. And if you paint your feet everyday over a period of time -- when your nose suddenly becomes runny and liquid -- then you will have enough iodine in your body, so stop the foot painting for a while. You will have to find your own frequency of painting your feet to maintain your own body's iodine level. I now paint the soles and heels of my feet once every 4 or 5 days, which is my frequency. This is also a great way to avoid athlete's foot and verukas...

Salt Deficiency
Posted by Cindy (Kansas, Us) on 11/19/2009

Hello again! I've been noticing something lately, regarding minerals in general and salt in particular. I read in the June 2, 2009 newsletter on the watercure2.org website about a woman who emailed a story from when she was a girl. She wrote of problems they had with cattle in. Apparently, the cattle became very sick. The woman writes, "The cow's developed large ankles and were dying from water retention due to heart problems.".

Investigation showed that the only thing that had changed was the salt licks they had put out for the cattle. The new licks were made with processed salt. they returned to the natural salt licks and the problems went away.

I have long felt that taking substances out of their natural context and using them as medicine is very dangerous. In their natural state, as with herbs, specific natural remedies are used for specific problems and parts of the body. Many herbs contain the same or similar substances but react on different parts of the body. As if the herbs contain the proper balance of nutrients with which to tell the body where to apply the herbs properties, in what combinations, how much to use and how to get rid of excess nutrients and resulting toxins.

I also suspect that the combination of elements in their natural state allow the body to get more benefit from very small amounts of nutrients than we can get by taking supplements in large amounts that have been taken out of their natural context.

I've written several times about the watercure and am now wondering if it is the unprocessed sea salt that is working all of the miracles. Granted, we need water, but using unprocessed sea salt after years of bad salt followed by no salt - as directed by physicians when symptoms such as those shown by the cattle present - can and often has worked miracles, often instantaneously.

Just a thought. You can file this under theories. I wrote it after reading:

"[QUESTION] 10/28/2009: Dennis from Seattle, Wa writes: "I'm trying magnesium chloride/distilled water for stiffness and lack of flexibility in legs/hips. Pitting edema is present. Salt is a problem with edema. Do you think the transdermal method with magnesium chloride would not be harmful to aggravation of the edema and still ease the muscle tissue stiffness and tension?"

I suspect Dennis is suffering from salt (and the accompanying minerals in natural salt) deficiency.

Thanks again for your site. It's a miracle in itself! God bless you!
