The following new (December, 2025) study suggests that melatonin may work to help prevent atherosclerosis as discussed here :

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1567576925020089?via=ihub

Here is a relevant quote from the study :

' Melatonin inhibits the growth of atherosclerosis and the pro-inflammatory differentiation of macrophages by blocking the Sirt3-Drp1 pathway, which prevents mitochondria from fission. Melatonin's suppression of mitochondrial fission may be a viable strategy for postponing cardiovascular problems in atherosclerosis patients. '

This may be complementary to the anti-atherosclerotic effects of Nattokinase in humans that I discussed here :

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/high-dose-nattokinase-for-atherosclerosis.html

Why is this important to everyone? It is important because atherosclerosis is the underlying cause of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and CVD is the number one cause of death in the world.

I KNOW I have CVD, PAD, heart failure, COPD.

And what do I read when research is done?

"new (December, 2025) study SUGGESTS that melatonin MAY work to help prevent atherosclerosis".

This is no different from saying that new study suggests that it may or MAY NOT blah, blah, blah.

Hardly exciting news. Why bother mentioning it? It's no different than my problem of deciding whether those who advocate a carnivore diet is better or a WFPB one is better. You have to choose one on faith or religious belief or caring for the animals and the planet or because you love cheese and bacon and sirloin steak, etc.

I just wish the so-called experts who are getting all the taxpayer money to conduct research would tell us what works and what doesn't, and leave out all that this may do that and it suggests, and more research (money) is needed!!!!
