Pain Patches

I recently sprained my pinky toe and that area of my foot very badly. I had significant bruising. In spite of arnica, comfrey and apple cider vinegar wraps, it was very slow to heal. Admittedly, I didn't rest it as might have been wise, but it was going to take more than a pinky sprain to stop me from dancing at my son's wedding. Which I did. :)

After a few weeks of slow improvement, I put a pain patch on the sprained area for some relief as the pain was distracting. It helped a lot. I put on a fresh pain patch every 8-12 hours and in a week I am almost back to normal. I believe the pain patch helped with pain and promoted healing. The patch has menthol and camphor in it. Maybe it is because it increased blood flow to the area. It also helped the toe to feel a bit more supported, being confined by some tape.

I will certainly try pain patches earlier next go round (but not on broken skin.)
