I have suffered severe sinusitis attacks for a number of years particularly after the birth of my second child. i have sometimes wondered whether eating desserts with custard have caused some of the terrible attacks I have suffered. Now that I have read about some of the ice-cream related problems by others I feel that there must be a link. On many an occasion I have woken up with pain around my eyes following an evening on which I have eaten custard. I am definitely going to try the apple cider vinegar treatment.

Hi, I Live in Westchester County, NY. The pollen count is always very high from April to October. Aside from allergy season, I have found - through my personal experiences - that all dairy products consumed do cause a number of mucous producing problems. Eat a couple scoops of any ice cream and you're going to wake up the next day with a mucous overgrowth either in your sinuses, lungs or throat. Dairy is not good for adults to consume, period. FYI - I stopped using dairy in my diet 2 years ago because of the mucous build-up and sinus infections, and not only have I lost over 60 lbs, but I no longer have that thick, greenish-yellow mucous to look forward to after eating an ice cream cone!

Well, this is too weird. I have been searching online this whole weekend for a cure to my sudden and extreme pain in my head, teeth and sinuses, and I am shocked to read this since it started minutes after eating a large bowl of a premium store ice cream. Now I can't eat at all since my teeth hurt so badly, especially on one side into my ear. My head hurts and although I do not have a stuffy nose, I can tell that it is sinus related since when I lay down the pain increases, especially in particular positions. I have had sinus headaches and infections before due to allergies, but nothing like this!! No more ice cream for me when my seasonal allergies start!

I was sooo relieved to read your article. I have had serious sinus infections for years. I have trouble getting rid of them, and I have been to many doctors including specialists. A few years ago I noticed a connection with ice cream. The doctors said it was a coincidence? It isn't. I have run several tests and it IS caused by ice cream. In my case, any brand. I am also a professional singer, and I have mucous problems that make it very difficult to sing. I hope the information you have here helps me.

My step father's birthday was a few days ago and I ate a baskin robbins cake and for the first time in my life I got a sinus infection and I don't have money to go to the doctors. To find that some ice creams are poison to the body makes me really mad.

I ate McDonald's ice cream on Monday and started having symptoms (that I remember) on Thursday. I am not sure if this would be related, but I haven't eaten McDonald's ice cream in years.

I had no idea these two things are linked, however I had Baskin Robbins ice cream yesterday morning and today I have a sinus infection. I am 29 years old and this is my third sinus infection of my life.

When I eat Baskin Robbins Jamoca Almond fudge I break out in a rash over most of my body, this is also accompanied with an itchy throat and ears. My sinus' get congested too. When I eat Breyers (all natural ice cream) I don't have this problem.

Wanted to let you know I had a similar icecream/sinus infection incident. We rarely get ice cream, maybe twice a year or so tops. This time it was Dreyers Rocky Road and I came down with a sinus infection within 48 hours of eating a coffee cup full.

i've had the nastiest sinus infection for the last 4 days... so bad I haven't been able to get out of bed... and I couldn't figure out what brought this on... I have decided that it was a mudslide that I drank on tuesday night... Thank you for all the information to helping me understand how I got this infection.

I recently had a sinus infection/flu-like symptoms 24 hrs after going to Baskin Robbins. I shared a sundae with my boyfriend and we both didn't fill well the next day. I just seemed to feel worse and for several days. I'm going to definitely try the vinegar!!!

This is weird, but I had a shake from Baskin Robbins on Saturday night, and the next afternoon I started getting symptoms of a sinus infection. I ran a fever on Monday, and today I can hardly breathe.

Ice cream must really have a link to sinus infections. Last night I went to Rafferties Bar and Grill. I ordered a Mudslide. Of course it has alcohol, but another ingredient was ice cream. This morning I woke up with a sinus infection from HELL! I can't shake it. I hope that Apple Cider Vinegar works. I have a date this weekend. I'll let everyone know the details, about the AVC of course

I couldn't believe it when I read the ice cream correlation. I am temporarily living in Italy and I find that I also have the same sinus infection reaction after eating locally made Italian ice cream.
