Just wanted to share that I used 10 parts distilled water and 1 part vinegar for a piece of sand stuck in my eye, and not only has it helped with removing the grain of sand, but it also started shrinking the pygerium or whatever the name is in both my eyes. I have been putting it into a spray bottle and lightly misting both eyes 4 times a day, and although it burns, I feel like my eyesight has improved and the pygerium growth in both eyes has dramaticly decreased. (And this is just day 3).

But I've heard surgery is painful and it doesn't always remove 100% of the growth in your eyes, so it might even grow back. But with this distilled water mixed with vinegar, I've noticed immediate results and my eyesight has improved and my eyes do not feel as dry as they used to be, and my eyes are also not as red as they were. I will keep doing this mixture to see if I can get rid of the pygerium completely
