Treatment for osteochondritis dissecans includes options that aid in the healing and bonding process of the bone. Resting and stretching are effective options as are natural supplements. In some rare cases, surgery may be required to remove any detached fragments and to reattach bone segments.

What is Osteochondritis Dissecans?

A condition that involves the separation of cartilage and bone, osteochondritis dissecans is more simply known as a bone chip. Many individuals experience no symptoms of the condition; however, an individual with a more severe separation may experience intense, persistent pain.

The condition is typically considered a “growing condition” as it occurs most often in children and adolescents as they are growing. OCD can affect any of the joints; however, it is most common in the elbow and knee.

Natural Treatment for Bone Chips

Most instances of chipped bones or fragments heal naturally; however, the process can be expedited by different treatment methods. Resting and stretching allow natural alignment of the body and aid in regrowth. Additionally, supplements can aid in reforming the bond in the bone.

Stretching

Resting the body or affected joint allows for the natural healing process to take place. Effective resting and stretching is important for treating osteochondritis dissecans associated with the elbow and knee. This process also facilitates effective alignment.

Natural Supplements

Assuring an effective bond is also crucial for treating this condition. A mixture of caraway oil, honey and apple cider vinegar has a unique composition that aids in bone growth. A combination that delivers calcium as well as a number of other nutrients, this treatment facilitates healing from osteochondritis dissecans as well as other nutrient deficiencies.

A condition more commonly known as a bone chip, osteochondritis dissecans is a joint condition that involves the separation of the cartilage and a piece of the bone beneath it from the end of the whole bone. While the condition typically heals on its own, natural treatments speed healing time and prevent additional symptoms.

In response to Lynn's question for his brother with bone chip.

one tea spoon Caraway(kalonji) oil two tea spoon pure honey 2 tea spoon vinegar (ACV).

Mix it daily in a cup, consume half of it early morning before break fast and remaining half at bed time. Keep doing it for 40 days, even after healing for complete results.

This remedy was given to my cousin (by a pious elder), whose both knees were not bonding for 2 years after an accident.
