Fresh Ginger and Garlic
Re Fresh ginger and garlic: At dinner recently, eating a whole roasted fish, a small bone pierced the back of my mouth, above the throat. The next day I ahd a very sore throat on one side. It grew worse and my ear on the same side started to ache, as well as my scalp. I associated it with the fishbone... I was afraid that I had picked up an infection from the bone (and of course I'd Googled this possibility, too!). Not having the time to find a dcotor and have antibiotics prescribed,I started dosing myself with two thin slices of raw ginger every two hours. I also choppped fresh garlic and put salt on it to draw out the juice, then dabbed the juice directly on the little wound in my mouth. Within 16 hours the pain was gone, and the little red spot at the back of my throat has now disappeared (two days later). It could be coincidence, but I'm pretty convinced that the fresh, raw ginger and garlic with their antibiotic properties cured me.
Oil Pulling With Drop of Peppermint Oil
I've been suffering for two months with a stubborn mouth infection, that don't seem to want to heal. It has now moved into my right tonsil. I've been taking two garlic and cayenne capsules every day for two weeks. The label says that two capsule contain 500 mg. of Cayenne Pepper, (40,000 heat units), along with, 1 g. of garlic, (10,000 ppm alicin potential). I haven't tried gargling anything, with the exception of a mixture of four drops each of tea tree oil, and oil of oregeno, in a small amount of water. I've been doing this for the last two weeks. I've also been putting a eyedropperful of Virginias Snake Oil in my mouth, three times per day. In my opinion, this infection is most likely a result of a case of mono, and a case of Hepatitis A, that I had several years ago. I've read articles to that effect. Do you have any suggestions, outside of gargling with Cayenne Pepper? Sincerely
Dear Norm: Garlic and cayenne pepper will not help that much. It would be more effective to kill them using oil pulling by sunflower oil with a drop or two of peppermint oil.
But the cause is the body's resistance to disease which is quite often zinc and the acid body pH. Take zinc acetate (or zinc gluconate, zinc citrate) 25 mg/day for 3-4 days and take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda with 1/2 glass of water twice a day on empty stomach, once the morning and before bedtime. I have one person I recalled to be almost completely gone just taking zinc and baking soda in about 2-3 weeks. Avoid white flour, coke, fruit juices and coffee and all sweet food in my opinion is the most effective way to deal with it.
The cayenne pepper and garlic are irritants for the tonsils and those are not helpful even if they were used as a mouthwash. Anyway if I am desperate, I might mouthwash using potassium carbonate or sodium carbonate (washing soda) 1/2 teaspoon, 1/2 glass of water and no swallowing.
Those tonsils go away pretty quick next day, but it must be done in intervals of every 5 minutes about 10 times and it was gone the next day with the tonsil conditions. Of course in the distant past, amoxicillin have worked quite well, but the bugs are getting so resistant, that I just stopped using it many years ago and try for other methods. In my own experiments, using tea tree oil, cayenne pepper didn't get a cure and don't work that well compared to using the potassium carbonate/sodium carbonate mouthwash. Perhaps, sunflower with tea tree oil, peppermint oil doing oil pulling might help, but I still prefer pH control, zinc supplements and carbonate mouthwash. If you cannot get carbonates, just get baking soda, but you may have to do it more mouthwash since it is less alkaline.
Being a health care professional, I always like to use these home remedies before going to traditional medicines because I know these will work sometimes with less or no side effects. I decided to try the tea bag just before going to sleep for an infected cut that came out of nowhere in the inside of my mouth. I can tell you that the pain went away by the time I removed the tea bag (30 minutes), also the discomfort was gone. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed the sore was mostly healed. I decided to try again the tea bag for another 30 minutes before eating breakfast. It seems to be getting much better faster. I would recommend this treatment to others.
