Men's Health Issues

| Modified on Jun 01, 2022
"Men's health emerged as a discrete academic and political concern in the 1990s.

A greater understanding of women's health issues had been one of the successes of the feminist movement, a development that drew attention to the fact that while men continued to dominate most societies in most fields, this did not extend to health and to life expectancy. By 2006, it was still the case that in the vast majority of countries, rich and poor, women could expect to outlive men.

In the UK, the Men's Health Forum was founded in 1994. It was established originally by the Royal College of Nursing but became completely independent of the RCN when it was established as a charity in 2001. The first National Men's Health Week was held in the USA in 1994. The first UK week took place in 2002, and the event went international the following year. In 2005, the world's first professor of men's health, Alan White, was appointed at Leeds Metropolitan University in north-east England." (Wikipedia)

AR,

This is a broad subject and there can be a lot of reasons for DE. There are many supplements that may be of help.

One is called Horney Goat Weed. It increases blood flow to the genitals which can increase hardness and sensitivity which may help with DE. Some users have reported that it also increases desire. This trio of effects may be of benefit to help alleviate DE.

Another supplement is called Maca which is said to increase sex drive.

DHEA is considered for libido and sexual function.

Ginseng is considered as an aphrodisiac.

Yohimbine is said to be useful for an improved erection. Some studies have indicated that yohimbine can increase blood pressure in people with hypertension, so that has to be a consideration also.

Another one is tribulus which is said to improve low sexual desire in both men and women.

Arginine is said to increase nitric oxide (NO) which is considered useful for improving erection hardness.

There are many more supplements intended to improve sexual performance, but what works for one may not work for another so it will come down to trial and error to see which ones can be most effective for you.

Another alternative is to consider many of the sexual improvement multis which incorporate multiple supplements that have shown the ability to improve different aspects of sex. There are many of these supplements available on the market simply because the demand is high. Here is a link that will give you an idea of the variety of sexual multis :

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=sex+supplements&crid=3FT0ULF662IHD&sprefix=sex+supplements,aps,164&ref=nb_sb_noss

As you can see the selection is huge because of very large demand. The topic you have brought up is important, but it is very broad. With the limited information you gave, this is the information that seems most appropriate. Good luck!

In my experience, nothing legal, or not prescribed by a doctor, will actually do anything. The FDA has done an AMAZING job of banning anything which, actually, ya know, works.

FENUGREEK/EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. Fenugreek response.

Internal use
Fenugreek is used internally for a variety of problems, such as to treat diabetes in adults (late-onset diabetes), poor digestion, gastric inflammation, digestive disorders and tuberculosis. It is also used for painful menstruation, labor pains and insufficient lactation.

Men on the other hand benefit from it for loss of libido, painful testicles and premature ejaculation.

It is often used for weight loss, anorexia and for poor appetite. In Chinese medicine it is used for kidney related pain - such as back ache, as well as premature ejaculation, loss of libido, painful testicles, hernia, painful menstruation and edema of the legs. In Ayurvedic medicine it is used for rejuvenation and as an aphrodisiac, as well as for digestive and bronchial complaints, gout and arthritis.

Fresh Fenugreek leaves are cooked as a vegetable curry and are also dried and used to flavor vegetable dishes. The seeds are roasted and ground for use in curry powder, pickles, stews and fried foods. The seed sprouts are also eaten as a salad.

External use
It is used externally for skin inflammations, ulcers, boils, eczema and cellulite.

Aromatherapy and essential oil use
None noted.

Natural Penis Enlargement

Posted by Vinam (Mauritius) on 04/03/2014

I need your help. I have a problem with my penis size. I have consulted a few doctors here in Mauritius for this problem but with no positive feedback. I am a boy of 28yrs old. Height 1.84cm and weight 107kg and I have a penis of 8cm at erection. I was sent for some medical test, for which the results are all normal as per the doctors and as such they told me that they cannot do much for me as I have already passed my puberty age. The only option left for me is surgeries to grow my penis size a bit. I guess more than me you are fully aware of the consequences and side effects of such kind of surgeries. That why I was wondering if you could help me out, to find a better way out for my problem.

Hope to have a positive feedback.

Thank you in advance.

Rgds,
Vinam

Could you include a section on natural penis enlargement? Some people in this community might have some threads to contribute. Thanks.

Penis Health

This question is for the guys. I have like small white pin needle looking things around the head of my penis. Does anybody know what this is called? It's been there since before I started having sex.

I do not know what this could be, but you should try a little urine therapy on it.

When you go to the restroom to pee, just rub some of the urine on the infected area.

Urine has been reported to be a GREAT CURE for skin issues.

Do this as long as you like. TELL US if it helps!

Hi Jack...Your condition could be what they call Pearly White Penile Papules. This condition is not serious or contagious.

Best to confirm that this is the correct condition by going into Google Image search and typing in "pearly white penile papules" to see if the photos confirm your condition.

Here is a site that explains this condition in depth:

Swollen Testicles

Posted by Lisa (Spartanburg, Sc ) on 12/30/2011

My 17yo son has swollen testicles. He feels the urge to urinate but then he doesn't pass much urine. He says his testicles feel funny. This doesn't happen all the time, just intermittently. He's not sexually active. I am thinking of taking him to a doctor but I'm afraid of what they will put him through. I've been reading on here about turmeric. Think that will help? Anyone have similar problems?

Dear Lisa from Spartanburg, Well, did you ever consider the old and well known " blue balls " syndrome. Your son is a 17 year old male and does not have a sex life according to you. There is a well known condition that results from sexually repressed young men especially. I know these are embarrasing issues to discuss, but this condition is very well known. Many doctors even shy away from this one. A young and healthy young male person has a physiological need for some sort of sexual release. I will suggest masturbation to relieve this problem. I know this is a troublesome issue for many parents to face up to. But I also know it is a very real problem for all young men. I was one myself at one time. And, even at my age, 62 years old, I, at times have this problem and masturbate to resolve it. There are times when people have to simply face up to the physiological realities of what we are.

And I have read of doctors who evidently are unaware of this physiological reality and will diagnose some condition that requires some medication. As far as that goes SALTPETER is an ancient so called remedy for this condition. Do you want your son to be a chemically induced de-balled person ? Perhaps you do. I do not know. Perhaps he can find a girlfriend who will give him a helping hand in this matter, if not he can use his own hand. I do not shy away from such issues. What can I say. I thought everyone knew about all this....Oscar

Follow up posting to Lisa, NEVER give your son saltpeter. I realized on reflection you might choose to do just that. There are other FDA approved medications for causing male impotence and saltpeter is not one of them. Saltpeter has well documented adverse and permanent side effects. If you want your son to be temporarily impotent there are FDA approved drugs for doing that. I hope you do not want that. But if you do: DO NOT give him saltpeter....Oscar

Oscar, I think your right. It looks like it doesn't happen to every guy though. He says he has three cyst at the top of his testicles, but from what I've read it sounds like a "spermatocele" which is just a sperm filled cyst. I read it's harmless. We are open and talk about masturbation, but I didn't know I would have to encourage it!!! But I told him that's how he could keep it from happening again. As far as a 17 year old girl to help, I don't know where I'd find one, perhaps you have a grandaughter? Just kidding!! Thanks for your help and I'm glad it's nothing serious.
