Low Libido Remedies

Holistic treatment for low libido can be very effective and work quickly to restore hormonal imbalances. Home remedies such as cayenne pepper quickly stimulate the libido, while supplements like Vitamin E can increase blood flow.

What is Low Libido?

Libido is a term that refers to an individual’s sexual desire. It can be likened to the individual’s sexual appetite or craving for the opposite sex. While several factors contribute to a male or female’s libido, several things can also decrease one’s sexual desiring, resulting in low libido. Low libido is often considered a more female problem; however, men can be just as heavily affected by women.

The characteristic symptom of low libido in men and women is specifically a reduction in sexual desire. Additional symptoms may accompany the condition including illness, chronic pain, personal distress, hypoactive sexual desire disorder, menopausal transitions, low testosterone, physical and emotion stress and chronic illness. Low libido often limits the pleasure of sexual encounters as well.

Home Remedies for Low Libido

While treating low libido often requires identifying the exact cause of the issue, several home remedies can be used whatever the cause. Apple cider vinegar taken daily can increase energy levels as well as libido. Additionally, cayenne, coconut oil, horny goat weed and hydrilla can be used as supplements to increase libido. Kyo-greens and mucuna pruriens also boost libido. Women report that vitamin E capsules work well when taken 10 minutes before coitus.

OMG ACV works to increase female libido!

There is no question that ACV works for me in the enhancement of my libido. I mix a tablespoon with honey and heat it up. It is a little intense but it is worth it. Totally sick of feeling asexual. This work better than anything.

I still can't believe that this remedy has helped me with my sex drive. Just last week my husband was telling me that I was turning into a 80 year old woman. Not to mention that my parents probably get it more than my husband. After taking ACV my husband can't keep me off of him I thought it would be crazy that it would be the Apple Cider Vinegar. I googled it and found this. I take 4 tablespoons mixed with a half of cup of water and 1 tablespoon of natural honey. Once a day tried it for the last week.

I found something out by accident, then checked a few things out online. Ive been taking Garlic cayenne as a supplement to keep in good health. When I added beet juice, (Beet apple and carrot actually) about the third day I was waking up in the night with unusualy large (@#! %$^&%$).. The only thing different was the beet juice... As I find its been used since roman times as an aphrodesiac. The science says its very high in nitrates! Which open up the small capillaries. Its a very similar bulb as the colius which small cakes were made for the same thing. In fact the colius looks like a small beet. I'm sure they are the same family of plants and very good for the health in many ways.. Try this and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

A side question for the guy who was doing the penis exercises. Not sure if they were stride jumps, burpees or what. Lol I'm sure most of us would like to see more of this, a lengthier version so to speak. Thanks.

I'm a 49 year old woman in perimenopause and my libido has vanished. So I was looking here on Earth Clinic for ideas and saw "cayenne pepper." Fine, I'll give it a try, I said. I drank a quarter teaspoon in a glass of water twice a day yesterday and nothing happened for me. I mentioned it to my 51 year old husband, whose "principal" works just fine, and he tried some the next morning. Two hours later there was a "massive development" on his side. So, if you're a man, give it a try. If you're a woman, hope you have better luck than I did. 4 stars because I'm happy for my husband, the new Cayenne Fan Club President. Pfff.

I lost my libido when I went on birth control pills, and after taking them for three months I switched to a non-hormonal copper IUD. After stopping, I waited six months and still experienced a very low sex drive (not as low as while on the pill, but still quite low). It was having a very negative affect on my sex life, so I looked into remedies and tried cayenne pepper. I am only posting this because the results were so profound. Within 20 minutes of taking it (I stirred it into some water) my sex drive skyrocketed and I experienced an amount of lubrication that I had very rarely experienced in the 9 months prior. I took it again for the next few days, and my libido remained high. It continued to increase for the next few weeks, although I stopped taking the cayenne. I am not sure what exactly the cayenne did, but I no longer suffer from decreased sex drive, and I have not taken cayenne in over a month. It somehow broke through the wall that was keeping me from arousal. I would say that it could be coincidental, but my libido literally began to improve dramatically 20 minutes after my first dose of cayenne, and has been consistently high since then.

I had the same experience. I am in perimenopause and have almost zero interest in sex. Probably 20-30 minutes after taking cayenne pepper, I wanted sex. Lubrication was greatly increased and the orgasm was unbelievable. I started taking 1/4 teaspoon twice a day-just started yesterday.

My energy has been really good and my achy knees and legs feel at least 90% better. I can't wait to see how I feel in a couple months.

Cayenne pepper has improve my sex life, I'm getting good circulation through out my body, a Gr8 stimulant. That has always been in my seasoning, spice & herb rack. My girlfriend thinks it's viagra (not)! I told her years ago it was cayenne pepper.

I have been using cayenne pepper for years on food since I love spicy foods. Since I have been taking it as a tea my sinus issues have finished! However, I have found one side-effect that may not be a bad thing; at times about 30 minutes after drinking the tea I get a Viagra effect. Must be increased circulation? I am a believer and always take it with me when traveling.

(Just had to share because I came upon this remedy by accident.)

A very unexpected but welcome side effect I experienced when I started taking Chlorophyll drops. I initially started taking a daily dose in a large bottle of water because my blood pressure is so low; as a woman around period time, I was always completely wiped out and exhausted. I wondered if my iron was low, and that lead me to try chlorophyll, which is a blood builder. A week or two in, I saw a very drastic increase in my drive. Like, a huge increase. It came out of the blue and I can only attribute it to the drops. This stuff makes you feel not only energized but I feel like it really increases blood flow to every part of your body.

Coconut oil to improve libido: For about 6 years I have struggled with low libido. I tried to always be there for my husband but it wasn't as much fun for either of us when I didn't really care to.

About a month ago I started trying to make sure I got plenty of sleep & I also started taking a spoonful (not measured) of virgin coconut oil every morning with my coffee. I suspect the coconut oil is the real winner here, but solving my sleep deficiency helped a lot too.

As long as you aren't allergic it couldn't hurt to try.

Rosemary tea, from spice section, put in tea ball and steep in cup of water.... Only one cup a day or could affect thyroid.... Body may gain circulation and start to tingle.... And you will fell more in love than before.

WARNING; I was drinking three cups a day , because doc oz said it was okay... Not okay: but after three cups a day for three weeks.... Learned not to do that!

I would try to take a sip and it turned into foam in my mouth and couldn't swallow and had to spit it out. Tried again the next day... same thing happened.

I do recommend a cup a day for circulation.

hello. I am very surprised that no one mentioned horny goat weed, epimedium grandiflorum, as of use for low libido. one to two 00 capsules (aprox 480mg each) taken about an hour before sex, works well for both men and women. I am post menopausal, and have a lot of the issues that go with this. I have rediscovered my sex drive lol. a word of warning, if you have high blood pressure, use with caution, as horney goat weed can raise bp, especially in males. Also, DO NOT use the capsules that are sold at adult stores, as these have been cut with who knows what, and contain very little of the actual herb.

Silver: thanx for your post on the efficacy of HGW. This is one I haven't yet tried, but I have good results w/ Tribulis, Ginsing, and Macca. Recently I read how Avena Sativa is very good enhancer and the results were noticeably profound at first use, but always work. If I understand correctly, the Wild Oats (Avena Sativa) doesn't work like the other T boosters in that it doesn't actually increase the production of Testosterone but helps the body utilize what is already floating around in the bloodstream, thereby increasing tissue concentrations of T (where it counts).

In conclusion, always use Avena Sativa in combination w/ the many other T boosting herbs for maximum effect. In addendum, supplementing the mineral Selenium also enhances the sex.

I have tried hot paprika for low libido, but absolutely nothing happened. I kept taking heaping teaspoons of hot paprika in a little warm water, but it made no difference. My libido never improved.

EC: Try cayenne, not paprika.

I mentioned *hot paprika* because it is stronger than cayenne. I was talking about *hot paprika* which is the same as regular paprika; except it's made from fully matured, spicy peppers. *Hot paprika* is so hot that oftentimes you cannot eat your food, regardless how much water and or bread you're trying to consume with it. I estimate its Heat Unit is 100,000, at the very least.

Being in my early 50's I've experienced a significant decrease in my libido over the past several years. Various factors can be attributed to it, age & increased stress, etc. Although a part of me doesn't miss the added distraction of testosterone, I decided to experiment with many different natural enhancers. Most have a general stimulating "edgy" effect which I don't care for. I recently started taking Hydrilla for an occasional food based Calcium and a surprising side effect has been with my libido. More so with erectile dysfunction than enhanced desire. It is considered a nuisance weed, but it is loaded with minerals, so it probably had something my body was lacking. It has a calming (calcium) effect as well.

I would like to add that I've been taking Maca root powder, about a tablespoon a day ..recommended dose is a teaspoon. It seems to have a balancing effect on adrenals...I've noticed an improvement in sexual energy as well as a calming effect. It is reported as being good for both sexes.

Iodine: Tonic or Stimulant for Sexual Debility. – Tincture of iodine, 20 drops; simple syrup, 4 ozs. DOSE – Take 1 teapoonful 4 times daily, one being at bed-time, Remarks. – Even in these small doses, Prof. Scudder says, it stimulates and increases the power of the sexual organs.

NOTE: That equals alittle less than one drop iodine per teaspoon. So, if you take one drop iodine in alittle water 4Xtimes daily would be the same.

Iodine is also an essential nutrient many men are missing from their diet that could be harming their sex drive. Research has revealed that iodine deficiency could be the cause of erectile dysfunction and a low libido.
