Home Remedies for BV-H2O2, Folic Acid, Acidophilus

Hi to all.My last BV infection was sparked after a TERRIBLE yeast infection- taking Monistat 1 for my yeast infection made the symptoms worst ten-fold and gave me an awful bout with BV. Well this time around, I did not want to go to the doctor to get Metro-Gel or anything so I did research on natural remedies for BV and came across this site (Thank Goodness)! With the suggestions from the ladies on this site, I did a hydrogen peroxide douche ( bottled water and 3% hydrogen peroxide) for four days in a row every night before bed; took two acidophilus pills everyday along with 800mcg of Folic Acid tables. For the douche, I bought a regular douche just for the bottle, poured out the contents that came with the douche and mixed my own. What was also so good about this remedy is that is cost me $13.00 from the drug-store, way less than prescription drugs. So far, it has been almost a week and the smell and itch are gone. I plan on continuing taking the acidophilus pills once a week and 400mcg Folic Acid everyday just to keep things at bay. Thanks for the suggestions and I hope this post helps someone like other posts have helped me.

P.S I would recommend using food grade hydrogen peroxide because they say its safer for internal use BUT be very careful because food grade hydrogen peroxide is very strong and concentrated and you can and will get burned if not diluted correctly.

I've been using this site to help with many issues due to the fact that I have no medical insurance...and what a help it is!!. I've been dealing with bv for a number of years and I am bere to say that 1/2 peroxide 1/2 water plus folic acid and acidophilus pills really works. I have battled yeast infections since childhood (44yr now). I have been treated with everything under the sun. My mom is a retired ob/gyn nurse and encourages me to go to the doctor whenever there's a problem with my v-jay. Well as I read your comments and results of using these home remedies I ran out to the drugstore and purchased folic acid,acidophilus pills and probiotics. I read that several people had results within 2hours of taking the vitamins. Well let me tell you...they were telling the truth!! Within two hours I could not believe there was no smell, first time in years!! I took the sniff test which I'm sure we are all are use to and couldn't believe it so I changed my underwear to make sure. I was so excited it was gone that fast. I went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night to make sure I wasn't dreaming...nothing!! But I took a 50/50 peroxide douche again(2am) just to make sure.I can't tell you how this makes me feel. I have had this problem for over 28years and this is the only thing that has knocked it out completely. I'm taking 800mg of folic acid, 5billion acidophilus pills, and 1 million probotics. I just purchased all new underway! Just to let you know when I went to the drugstore the cashier said I've always wanted to try this. I asked are you having problems with infections and she said yes for years and I don't know what to do. She said she has tried every medication and she was sick of it! OMG! I just had to send a jumping for joy comment on all of your suggestions for BV! I had no idea what the problem was but since childhood (around 10yrs old and I am 39yrs old now) I had been suffering from the odor and discharge. I had been suffering so long that I just thought it was normal and everyone was like that. I actually thought that was why they had panty liners was because it was normal and women needed them to deal with the drainage. Dr's tested me and found nothing wrong and I just had to live with it. Something made me search yesterday to see if there was anything out there that I could do to help with the odor and discharge, something to maybe help make it at least not so bad. That is when I found your site and saw the suggestions for the 50/50 peroxide solution along with the folic acid(800mg)and acidophilus (4 billion). I saw all the positive comments about how the symptoms went away almost right away and just had to try it. Now don't laugh but I was so excited about trying this that I clocked out of work, went to my local store and purchased what I needed. I came back to work, locked myself in the bathroom and started with the peroxide solution (twice for good measure) then swallowed the pills. Let me tell you girls something!! OMG! Right away I noticed a change and as of today still nothing! NO ODOR! NO DRAINAGE!! NOTHING!! I cannot thank you all enough for this site...all these years I thought it was normal and nothing I could do about it then suddenly I found you angels and am no longer ashamed to have someone stand close to me or worry when the love of my life comes near me that I haven't 'cleaned up' the offending area yet to help lessen the odor for a short period of time if nothing else.
