I have three fingers affected by Hebreden's nodes. They are essentially bone spurs on the top joints of the fingers. The only solution I have found is taking a daily vitamin K2 capsule every night. They are greatly reduced now. From what I understand, the K2 redistributes calcium from the soft tissues where it is not supposed to be to the bones where it belongs. I think this would also hold true for calcified blood vessels too.

Yes the bumps are now much smaller. I have read to take it with vitamin D3. I have used life extension brand called super k for most of the time I have taken it. Boron can also play a part in this I think. I take a supplement called triple boron complex by Swanson. You can also just take regular borax by 20 mule team borax using about 1/4 teaspoon or so. I think the K2 is by far the most important. The goal is to move the calcium out of the soft tissue and back into the bones where it needs to be. Calcium can deposit in the arteries and veins too, so it may be connected to atherosclerosis as well. I am not a doctor, but it seems likely to me. Another thought might be trying serrapeptase and/or nattokinase. Another might be chanca piedra. I have taken all of these in various combinations and times depending on the current health issue. We are all different, so it is difficult to pinpoint what helps. I am just hoping we can all help each other to find our own solutions. Best wishes to you!

Hello jholl! I'm very excited to see your post! I have Heberden's nodes that are growing fast, are ugly and hurt. I have been taking Vitamin K2 (MK-7) 120mcg per day for many months but it hasn't helped.
If you can please share:
- the dosage you took
- when you say 'greatly reduced' do you mean that the actual bumps have reduced in size?
Can't wait to hear from you! Thank you!

Thank you for this, jholl. I will try it. Could you tell me how much mcg is in the capsule you take, please.

Thank you for sharing your treatment of Heberden's nodes - these have been showing up on my fingers, thumbs lately and are so painful. I just ordered the Life Extension super K - hopes it works as well for me as it does for you.

Can you recommend any natural treatment for the pain of the Heberden's nodes - while I wait for the Vit K2 to do it's magic?

Vitamin B6 is excellent for the nodes on fingers. 50 to 100 mg per day for me reduced them quickly. I learned about it from a book called The Doctor's Guide to Vitamin B6. I think it is from the '70's and it is packed with information. Also take a complete B complex along with the separate B6.

If the ACV dosn't stop the nodules, (they are called Hebendens nodules if they are on the finger joints).. Try Lemon juice it disolves the dead calcium that the ACV cant. But be careful not to continue for too long.. A couple of weeks on and a couple of weeks off should be ok for about three months, . If you go into full detox you could get some boils or zits as other nasty stuff comes out.
