Hi Timh, Thanks for the info. I actually saw an article which says that carotenoid supplements may be harmful so I am thinking of sticking to including them in my diet naturally, but I cannot seem to find the link to post.

I don't know if you buy your supplements from iherb but if you ever visit iherb.com I am wondering would you take a look at these two products for me and give me your opinion. I had never heard of red palm oil before. I am wondering if you have an opinion on these products in relation to my complaint.

http://www.iherb.com/North-American-Herb-Spice-Co-BetaPalm-African-Red-Palm-Oil-8-fl-oz-240-ml/47681

http://www.iherb.com/North-American-Herb-Spice-Co-CocaPalm-Virgin-Coconut-Red-Palm-Oil-8-fl-oz-240-ml/15399

You also mention that seaweeds and algaes have loads of carotenoids, would this include spirulina. I am wondering if this is a chelator as I do have mercury fillings and would be sceptical about taking it if so.

Thanks again.

Anna: Yes, sorry I simply find it much easier to supplement. Cara is a class of naturally occurring antioxidants that must be supplied in the diet. The dark color of fruits & veggies indicates the presence of carotinoids. Beta Carotene (body converts to Vit-A) is abundant in Carrots, Dandelion Root, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Squash. Lycopene is abundant in Tomato paste. Luteine is abundant in Spinach and Marigold. Many Seaweeds and Algae's have an abundance of carotinoids. Vit-E is very not abundant in most foods with the exception of Palm Kernel Oil and Wheat Germ (Oil). Adding the whole powdered Wheat Germ to foods is an excellent boost to traditional recipe (has been used for yrs by athletes). Also E is abundant in the seeds of Annotto of the Achiote tree.

*Important* To catalyze or boost the antioxidant potential of the Carotinoids, supplement Zinc. Selenium potentates the Vit-E. Pumpkin Seeds are the only significant source of Zinc. Brazil Nuts are the only significant source of Selenium.

Thankyou Timh for your feedback. You are very good. I'm not much into supplements, however, if needs must Do you know what foods I might find the carotenoid complex in. What does the "cara" refer to. Thank you once again.

Anna: Anytime I hear the word "sensitivity" it most likely indicates a very low antioxidant nutrients status. Try to find a "Carotenoid Complex" one per day with meal. Also, a good Vit-E supplement you can find; Mixed Tocotreinols & Tocopherols is best; take w/ meal away from the Cara.

Hi, I am in my twenties and my endocrinologist has told me that I have a breast sensitivity issue. I am wondering if this is the same as an inflammation problem. Does anybody know what causes this. I think my hormones are o.k. And my periods are regular so I don't want to mess with this. Are there any foods that I can add/eliminate or an lifestyle issues that I can address to resolve this.

Please be careful (or consider not taking Serrapedtidase and other enzyme supplements) if you have even a mild blood condition. I have Thalasssemia minor (a normally non-serious genetic blood condition), and took enzyme supplements to help with female problems, and my health got so messed up that my Doctor thought I had cancer! Also, don't take these supplents if you are on ANY blood thinner.

Cassie: so good to hear from you, and many thanks for your concern.

No surprise on the disappointments in your medical. Modern Medicine, like any other business, has so much of itself devoted to profit that prevention is what patients get very little of.

I was hoping you would have experienced at least some alleviation from these good home remedies and nutrition tips. As long as this condition doesn't worsen, I will not fret. Just focus on healthy, active, living.

Hi Timh, Sorry to hear about your hardship in life - it is more than anyone should have to bear - I am just picking up your post now, as I was updating you on my hospital appointment. Afraid it's a no-go area there. As far as the Breast Issue is concerned she says there is nothing wrong so she cannot "fix" it so it seems I will just have to put up and shut up. So much for modern day medicine. Anyway Tim Good Luck with things and thanks again for your concern. I will check in on the Earth Clinic occassionally and see how you are getting on. Regards

Serrapeptase
Posted by Timh (Louisville, Ky) on 09/25/2012 2063 posts

Annie, so good to hear your healing report; it will certainly ripple over to others needing the same.

Concerning Serrapeptase, if I am not mistaken, we owe a big THANX to the Japanese researchers who, by chance of observation, wondered at how their little "factory farm" silk worms weren't exactly chewing their way out of the cocoon but rather dissolving the fibrous material w/ their spit. On close examination the J's discovered the Serrapeptase enzyme in the worm's spit. As the research progressed, the farming method has been replaced by semi-synthetic culturing of the enzyme. They also discovered Nattokinase from the Natto fruit and how it is very similar to Serrapeptase.

I am a woman who has suffered with several different ailments over the last few years. Recently while searching for something to help the horrible pain I was having from Fibroid Cysts in my breasts, I thought maybe I had an iodine deficency. I went to a small herbacy and was recommended Serrapeptase Enzyme. I was leary of the product since I am on a very tight budget and didn't want to take something that might not work. The lady gave me some literature and my husband encouraged me to try it. I have been taking two pills mornings and two more at night and in less than a month I feel amazing! I no longer have painful breasts and the lumps are gone. I have suffered with endometriosis and cysts on my ovaries as well and have not had any of their symptoms either. In addition to all of these things I have had horrible sciatica. The anti-inflammatory properties of this "miracle" has reduced all the swelling in my lower back and am now able to "pop" my back and in conjunction with stretching have been pain free for over a week. I am totally sold on this supplement and encourage anyone with any type of swelling or cysts to try it.

I read that when warts die they turn black and then fall off. They can leave a hole, that eventually fills in and heals, if the healing is complete.

Hi everyone, I have to apologise in advanced for getting a bit graphic here. A few days ago I was having a shower and I found a small flesh coloured pimple in the centre of my left breast, I thought it was weird but ignored it, a few days later it turned pitch black and the next day it fell off, Yes fell off and left a hole where it was.

I went to the Doctor and he checked for lumps and thank god it wasn't anything serious but he just told me that I must have scratched myself and it was a scab that fell off however I don't believe that is the case since it was a bubble like a pimple.

I have researched this online and it is very common for women to have this especially on their left breast yet no one has found out what it is.

At first I thought it was a skin tag that must have died and turned black and fell off but the doctor said that skin tags don't fall off and if it was a skin tag it wouldn't leave a hole (I don't think) Someone said that it was dead nipple tissue and that the nipple tissue wasn't getting enough blood so it turns black and falls off.

Does anyone know what this is? And if it's safe? And what I can do to fix it? Sorry about this scary information but I could use some information and some help and no I am not pregnant. Thank you

Hi Debbers, I had multiple cysts both breast big like 25 cents and was ready to go for an operation. I took iodine kelp, vit e, selenium, vit c. is very effective. Add to your diet flax seed, almond, walnut and oats. No fatty food, caffeine, avoid sweet, chocolate, dairy product like cream, whole milk. Try this and you will be cured. It took a year to dissolved and I am totally free from cyst.

Heather: I don't think I am familiar w/ Norman W. But I will check him out. I do have a book named Veggies For Life that I need to get back into. I keep my Colon clean on a daily basis w/ ground flax seeds orally, H2O2 enemas, and occasional Aloe Vera soft-gels orally. Am feeling much better now from a Gallbladder flush last night; haven't passed anything yet but I am sure I will as it's been several yrs since I flushed.

As for juicing, I have severely neglected this but do occasionally drink otc juice (i know it has lots of sodium). My current resolve is throw a bag of frozen veggies in the blender and add the otc grocer brand juice, toss some turmeric and garlic in there and let it mix. Since I haven't the energy & stamina or money to prepare fresh organic veggies this will at least be a good start. I hope to progress to sprouting wheat or beans and throw them in the veggie mix as the sprouts are loaded w/ enzymes.

Thanks for your concern and input; I am certain it will help me in my semi-critical condition. Hope you are well.

Hi Timh, Bless you I wish you good health. Have you ever read any of the books by Norman Walker? Apart from living to about 100 and being a raw foodist he lectured on the huge benefits of colon cleansing to rid the body of toxins and kick start the healing process. He did talk of miraculous recoveries. I hope this helps. I am interested in this but have not experienced it, maybe it's out of fashion in the UK as I am struggling to find a centre. I haven't found much discussion of this on Earth Clinic but it could be another key to good health. X

Thank you Cassie and also Lisa from Jax, Fl, Rsw from Uniontown, Oh (already expressed gratitude to Lisa of Ca), and everyone else here that's been any help to me.

I really am naturally gracious as I have been battling a first chronic condition that worsened to an acute episode of leukemia of which I miraculously survived but not without much almost unbearable suffering, and only to go back into a chronic state again for about 12 yrs until in 2009 began a rapid decline once again. In the last episode of decline I had all my previous yrs experience as an ally but was yet overcome and found myself here on E. C. desperate for any lifesaving measures. It's been almost a 1yr now that a stop or reversal of disease has proved in itself also a threat as is the case in many "healing crisis".

And then there's the psychological, social and personal factors that can be horrible. My mother's passing w/ cancer in 2009 almost put me away but I took on an attitude of detachment and thought of nothing except what I must do for myself --the only form of selfishness, I suppose, of not an evil nature. The severity & complexity of my situation and the lack of professional help is astonishing. My Christian Faith, once strong, has all but eroded to apathy that god simply took a hit by Satan himself and wound up bartering a good deal to the evil one in this fallen garden we call earth or nature. NDE's have given me the grandest consolation that the best life is yet to come, as I have held a conservative ground against much opposition. I guess I have got like E. C. 's Robyn down under; am simply done w/ the suffering, how much can one person take??? Another day of fasting and then the dreaded gallbladder flush and maybe good results will leave me advance one step up in the direction of betterment.

Well, enough of this. Let's keep helping each other here and undoubtedly we will be rewarded in the supernatural.

Cassie, I am hoping that you can get back to good health once again.

Many USA health food or supplement retailers do a good bit of international business, so they usually have a flat shipping rate that is affordable. Iherb.com is one w/ lots of UK customers, as I once read many user responses but now they seem to have been deleted for some reason. Swanson Foods is a big favorite as they have great products as well as prices. BetterHealthInternational, Vitacost, Vitaglo, Vitaminlife, have all been good to me. AmazonUK includes many retailers which you can rate by the number of stars they receive.

As for B-12 unless you have digestive problems the sublingual would not be necessary, but try and find one w/ Folate also. Do try the GABA I mentioned as it could greatly benefit the body & mind. The stress you experience plus the other side effects seem to all indicate some kind of toxicity, so stay tuned for the many methods of detoxing and cleansing. Do try some Bentonite Clay as it is such a good cleaner and provider of minerals (I had two caps today).

As for interactions, this usually isn't an issue but it is good to ALWAYS read medication information thoroughly, supplements labels also indicate any possible interaction. While using the hypertension medicine Lisinipril I have experienced no problems and I take supplements by the hand-full; Oil Pulling, Detox Foot Spa or Pads don't seems to change the medication affect either.

Stay close to E. C. As there are so many helping heads here and all the good post; we all differ but we have the common goal of wellness. If I can help you further here's my email: kr892002 (at) yahoo (dot] com

Hi Timh. Always good to get your posts. Unfortunately I now seem to have some kind of a swelling under my tongue (left side, I think it might be the duct-seems to go up and down at times) eating turnips seems to be the only thing that helps reduce the swelling. I am trying to detox as best I can but need to be careful now I'm taking medication. Thanks for your tips including the Epsom footbath. Just wondering if this or taking lots of supplements/high dosages of supplements or indeed detoxing in general will affect the efficacy of the medication. I looked around in town for BSM but could only locate Black Treacle, so I will try elsewhere over the next few days. The methyl b supplements I see are available in both capsule and sublingual form. Any recommendations on which is best. I have contacted a few sites in relation to official stockists of supplements on this side of the pond as I would be cautious about buying any foodstuff over the internet.

Was wondering can you recommend any site for supplements as I have a friend in the U. S who would happily oblige in getting them for me but most of them ship internationally anyway. I have bought from drugstore in the past but never supplements, was thinking of giving them a try.. I'm afraid I seem to be having a problem with stress at the moment. It has always affected me to some extent but giving up caffeine related products which used to be my crutch has proved difficult. I seem to be suffering from quite bad nervousness at times when in stressful situations. Anyway, I will update when I get some news regarding the breast issue. Regards for now.

Cassie, glad to hear back from you and that you are seeking to remedy your issues. If you test low for Folic Acid, supplementing B-12 will lower it even more. I would recommend boosting all vit/min naturally or w/ a good multivitimin/mineral supplement. Go ahead and try some BSM w/ added honey and if it has negative side effects drop it. Bentonite clay is a good source of minerals and would help detox the body. As for the mineral bath I mentioned earlier, you can benefit using the "foot-bath" method; the Epsom salt is soothing to the nervous system and aids detoxification and the baking soda diminishes acidity. Any of the honey bee products are nature's most nutrition dense. Bee Pollen granules is arguably the single best food on the planet. Back to the B-12; if you wish to boost, the methylcobalamin is the "active" form of B-12 and would be the best supplement; however, it is important that you get half as much Folic Acid as B-12. Try to find a product w/ these two together.

As for migraines, have you tried Vinpocetine or Hydrazine? I hope something is helping as this can be terrible.

Lastly, the Amino Acid GABA (1 gram) taken before retiring is a great tranquilizer and also increases natural Growth Hormone levels which helps turn back the clock on aging; I believe this is available in UK as it is a natural protein.

Hope this helps and report any changes, ok.

Hi Timh, Many thanks for your encouraging posts. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The doctor has finally referred me to an endocrinologist but she has assured me it will be quite a few months before I get to see her - visited my GP three weeks ago and no sign of an appointment yet, it's definately depressing.. My doctor said that the LSH and FH hormones were fine. I am nearly sure she said there was no excess oestrogen imbalance - just low folic acid. I told you in my previous posts that I suffer from migraines and also that I started going grey early on. I am wondering if maybe I suffer from some kind of deficiency and was reading here on EC about the nutritious BSM, however I have also read an article or two where it has upset the menstrual cycle, (although most articles here seem to praise it for menstrual cycles) and as mine is pretty regular I would be very cautious about taking anything which may disrupt it. With regard to neuropathy I was wondering if you have heard of Jarrows Methyl B12 for supporting healthy nervous system or even have you any opinion on how the Methyl B12 rate in comparison to regular B12?
Thanks again for your posts. Kind regards.

Dear All and Ted from Thailand,

I came across this while searching for Green/Natural remedy to get rid of small Lump in my right breast. I am young graduate and really worried. I went to see my GB after I discovered small lump in my right breast the doctor refered my for scanning. The next day I had my period so I thought it was my circle after nearly a month and half my GB called me to urge me to see her and again transfer me to be screened.

Can anyone suggest please what is the best way to get rid of this small lump. I have no family history and my mom had lump in her breast for years with no side effects. She got it removed recently. I do not trust doctors very much as I know they got to maximize profit and manimize costs and a nurse friend keep telling us how it is all mainly a buiness.. I know there are many good doctors, but for them we are just number:(

I think there must be a natural way to help myself and remove this small lump naturally?? Also should I take anything before my breast scan?I am due to be screened this Thursday the 2nd-Aug.

Many thanks in advance, Angela

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Grandmama-d (Nashville, Tn) on 04/18/2012

I found a lump in my underarm pit near my breast that had not been there just a few days prior. I immediately started taking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a small amount of water (probably 10 tablespoons of water or less), three times a day. Within a week the lump had disappeared completely. The lump felt like the classic lump I was taught to feel for in my self breast exam and it was as hard as a rock. Although the lump was gone I continued the apple cider vinegar routine. Hope this helps.

I've dealt with breast pain during my cycle pretty much most of my adult life, but the pain escalated during my mid-30's and has continued to get worse (I'm 39). I've tried absolutely everything that's been mentioned for fibrocystic breasts including the following: iodine, magnesium, calcium, zinc, b vitamins, fish oil (made them worse), Flax oil/seed, vitamin A, Vitamin E, Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Molasses... Ad nauseum. Also, several years ago I switched all of my household cleaning & laundry as well as bath/beauty products to all natural/non-toxic. None of these things made a significant reduction in pain.

Recently I decided to try Sea Buckthorn (internally) to improve my dry skin, and lo and behold, my breast pain has significantly decreased since going on this regimen. They had gotten so bad before the sea buckthorn that I couldn't even stand to wear a bra. I still have some pain, but this is my third cycle on the sea buckthorn and I cannot believe the difference. I can't tell you how happy I am to have discovered this and wanted to share it in case there is anyone else who has had the same problem and like me has gotten no results from other methods. The Sea Buckthorn is expensive, but I can't live without it now. Anyone who has intense breast pain 15 - 20 days/month as I have will understand. Ellen

Posted by Angel (London, Herts) on 02/15/2012

Hi Sylk. Just wondered how you got on with the iodine, as I have just started it, the Kelp iodine and not sure, as to how long I should take it for. This is what I read about iodine.. An excess of iodine in your body can also lead to health problems. When exposed to excessively high levels of iodine, your body can slow or stop the production of thyroid hormones, causing temporary hypothyroidism. Other thyroid diseases caused by too much iodine include some thyroid cancers and thyrotoxicosis, which is characterized by excess levels of thyroid hormones in the bloodstream. You should, therefore, not to exceed the recommended dose when taking a kelp iodine supplement. You should only use liquid kelp supplements under a doctor's supervision. Soo confused.:(

My doctor had me going for mammograms every 6 months for the last 4 years due to multiple cysts in my breasts. I read that breast cysts can be a precursor to breast cancer so I started researching ways to get rid of them. I found an enzyme (Serrapeptase) which claimed to "eat away" at cysts. So I skipped my 6 month visit and took it nightly for a year. Then went back for my mammogram. No mention of cysts in the report. I even called my doctor to have them check the report for mention of cysts and they said there was no mention of cysts at all. So I'm claiming it worked. I will continue to take it nightly.

Do your research folks, only one brand was used in the clinical trials so be wary of imitations. BTW, it will give you indigestion if you don't follow the directions and take it on an empty stomach.

I have a breast cyst that during an ultrasound was shown to be complex (three small cysts linked together). Due to a small "hot spot" (signifying blood flow) showing up in the tissue surrounding the cysts, doctor said I needed a biopsy performed. I asked that I be referred to a doctor in a larger city nearyby for a second opinion, my doctor agreed, however before the appointment could be made my doctor called back and said they looked at my ultrasound/mammogram results again and don't think a biopsy is needed afterall, just a repeat ultrasound in six months. It sounds very suspicious to me that the doctor changed his mind when a second opinion was requested... At any rate, are there any natural therapies I can try to get rid of the cyst? I've had the cyst for at least a year, and have a couple of other ones that aren't considered complex. I'm not sure what to do, I fear any second opinion by a surgeon will result in some type of surgery...

Last year my boyfriend discovered my breast lump which was the size of a grape. I took Lugol's 7% solution and increased my daily dose of natural Thyroid. I also take Zinc, Magnesium, D3, L-Tyrosine, Flaxseed oil, EPO, Selenium, Vit C, L-Lysine, Biotin, Cranberry, and a natural Fruit/Veggie based vitamin. I try to do raw fruit/veggie smoothies several times a week. The lump was gone by the time I went in for a mammogram. I believe that my past history of breast lump, goiter, and ovarian cysts was caused by lack of iodine & insufficient thyroid hormone treatment.

Unfortunately women with breast cancer in their families are at the most risk in developing breast cancer themselves. Usually starts with a lump on their breast. If I were you I would immediately consider the highest priority for a breast exam before its to late!!! This matter can result into a potentially life threatening condition if you ignore the symptoms you just described.

Eliminating milk products and wheat drastically reduced the size of my cysts and eliminated the soreness. Benign uterine and breasts cysts are common in my family of mostly women. I believe (not my doctor) that milk and wheat affect my hormones and cause the cysts. When I went on a low carb diet of mostly veggies, fruit, and meat, the uterine cysts shrunk, became softer, and stopped hurting. Plus, my near month long periods went back to 4 normal days. This took 3 weeks. I had not had 4 day periods since I was 30. I've come to believe that hormones & casein of cows milk and the estrogen of wheat adversely affects female breast and uterine tissue. I was once told by a psychic to stop consuming both if I wanted good health. He said that cow milk is for baby cows and grain is for cattle. He recommended the diet I mentioned above. But, at time, I loved my ice cream. Now I know he was totally correct. Everything improves when I keep milk and grains out of my system.

Bessie,

The info you shared was very helpful. I will be getting a full range of thyroid tests done in about 2 months. And will post again here after giving the Lugol's soln a try. I am also doing baking soda 1/4 tsp plus 2 TBLS ACV in a half cup of very dilute apple juice 2 x/day, 5 days on and 2 off for a few rounds. Plus magnesium, Iodoral and the companion supplements. I am hoping in a matter of months things beome more balanced.

Thank you again for your help.
Kelly

Hi Kelly - I applied Lugol's (it was a 5% solution from Xenex labs) every day for about three months before the cysts finally disappeared (they decrease in size very slowly). It was frustrating at first because I thought nothing was happening but it's a very gradual process. By the way, the doctor who suggested this was Dr. David Derry (no longer practicing) in Victoria, BC. I went to him for thyroid problems. He said many thyroid patients have cysts. I'm very thankful I met such a forward-thinking doctor. Have you been tested for hypothyroidism? I know the normal range was changed several years ago so a lot of folks are now being properly diagnosed. Good luck!

Thank you Bessie,

How long did it take for your cysts to be reduced or disappear? I will get some Lugol's soln this week. Was hoping that the Iodoral tablets ( total of 50mgs/day)would be enough. Maybe applying it topically will target the tissue better.

Hi Kelly - I, too, had benign breast cysts and what really helped me was painting a quarter-size spot of iodine on my breasts every evening before bed (wait until it dries because it stains). Eventually my cysts disappeared. I used Lugol's and it was recommended by my doctor. If you type in iodine cysts on Google, there is a lot of great information on it. Good luck!

I'm not suppose to give the product name but a very good flaxseed oil worked for me.

Hello

First, thank you all for your work in helping all of us take better control of our health, I am very grateful for the knowledge I have gained from this site. I was hoping you could offer a little advice for trying to reduce a breast cyst.

A brief history on me is a cyst ( size of a grape) was found after self exam, then a mammogram, ultrasound and needle aspirate which showed it to be benign. That was 2 years ago. I am 42 also have benign thyroid nodules. I have been determined to rebalance my body and eliminate these issues.

I started Iodoral 5 months ago, along with Vit C powder, Selenium 200mcg, food based multi vitamin, mag citrate 200mg and Vit D 2000 - 4000IU/day. This plan has already softened my breast tissue dramatically. Aside from the cyst they don't feel lumpy / bumpy as my doctor said 2 years ago.

Last month I increased magnesium to 500mg and reduced Vit D to 2,000 and added 250 mg of coral calcium/day. Still wondering how much calcium is needed if I eat plenty of green foods and take a green drink daily.

The breast pain has reduced dramatically but the cyst feels a lot harder. Still smooth, movable and slightly increases in size before my period which is also irregular, every 5 -7 weeks.

My question is I would like to know if I should change anything I am doing. I know to be patient and that this can take many months to resolve. As of this week I am adding 1/2 tsp of baking soda and either 2 TBLS of lemon/lime or ACV 2 x per day. And will do this 5 day's per week.

I sleep well, rarely eat sugar or high GI foods, of healthy weight and have plenty of energy. Overall I feel great but do have frequent lower abdominal bloating. Which is why I cleaned up my diet. Candida my be a possible cause I discovered after taking a candida survey. Hope the baking soda and ACV helps with that too.

I just want to get things back in balance. I know many women like this and want to offer them this information too. I am also going to have thermogram done this month.

Thank you for reading all of this and for your help.

Kind regards,
Kelly

★★★★☆

I had a breast cyst aspirated 3 years ago. It was filled with dark green fluid-- walnut size, not dangerous or painful. It returned about a year ago. I tried topical natural progesterone skin oil, then Nattokinease capsules I found online, with no effect. Then (in addition to daily vitamins and green powder with juice) started taking 400 IU of vitamin E, 100 mg Vitamin B6, again not much result. Then recently I added a daily kelp tablet containing 225mcg iodine - eureka! The cyst has reduced half in size over a month - and I will update this when it's gone.
